I think it would be a bit better for more than one person to be staffing the front, especially since there was a large set of reservations. There was an understanding that on that particular evening there would be a larger group of people showing up. 5 rooms were reserved so that means that another staff person maybe should be on site to help. I felt badly for the one woman working the hotel front desk.
It smelled like fireworks had been set off. The hotel had an acrid scent and we noticed a cloud around the roof area as we drove away.
The drop off area was really dark and very small but we made it work.
Some of the travelers did not prefer the noisy neighbor at 2am.

Overall, we did not enjoy our stay here for a couple of subjective reasons below. But there were things we liked too: it's very clean, rooms are in good condition and are quiet. Also, they're dog friendly which is a big deal.
Things we did not like:
- Self check in/out: after 6 hours of driving the kast thing I want to do is to enter all of my personal information into some system while the front desk employee just stands there with the key waiting for me to finish. This makes no sense
- That said employee did not say a word in English to us during self checkin perfectly knowing we do not speak German. All the instructions were given to us in language we do not understand
- Absolutely terrible mattress. I managed to get a total of 3 hours of sleep there
- No shower gel or shampoo was provided. Only hand soap
- No minibar in the room, not even an empty one
- Location is next to airport but if you have a day and wanna go to Berlin city center - there is no S-bahn or even a bus stop nearby

Overall our stay was good. Downside is going to the hotel from the city and from hotel to Berlin Airport. Chose the hotel as it was supposed to be \"near\" the airport. It was \"near\" but we needed to take a taxi (40 euros, 15 minutes) as the airport terminal was on the other side of the runway. As an airport hotel, it would have been great if the hotel had a shuttle. Can recommend the place except for those who have flights early in the morning (ours was 6AM). The hotel arranged for our taxi though but we did not get the wake up call we requested; it was good that we had our alarm on.

The hotel is clean and the hotel front reception was very friendly and helpful. But hotel restaurant is a disaster!! There was one other group of people in the restaurant who had 3 tables pushed together, so we pushed tables together to fit our party of 10 adults. A middle-aged male waiter then came over got mad at us for pushing tables together, saying he needed an hour's notice for a group our size. Notice, there was only ONE other group in the dining room, and the kitchen would have had to serve us regardless if we were 1 big group of 10 people, or 5 separate parties of 2 people. Next, the waiter came around to get our drinks. I had a water bottle on the table, and he told me I couldn't have my water bottle on the table and needed to store it on the ground. I promptly removed the bottle. He then proceeded to lecture me about how rude it was to bring a water bottle to a restaurant. Let me remind you, this restaurant is CONNECTED to the hotel where I could have gone to my room and gotten water at ANY time during my meal. So after his lecture, when I refused to order a drink he got exasperated and left in a huff. Finally, the dining room connects to an outdoor dining area, and there was a big group of men outside smoking. Both doors to the inside dining area were left open and the smoke was coming through, affecting our table. We quietly closed both doors to stop inhaling smoke while we ate. Our waiter then came over and yelled at us for closing the doors. Horrible man!

Overnight stay after cancelled flight.

Having been abandoned in Berlin airport by Easyjet cancelling our flight at 11:30pm, we were desperate for somewhere to put our one year old to bed. The hotel was close to the airport (although the taxi fare was extortionate) and the staff were very kind and friendly. The room was just what we needed and the bed was comfortable. As we had to leave at 6am we did not have the opportunity of using the facilities but they looked good.

I’ll start with the only positive thing I have to say. The size on the room was nice.
The walkways around were full of debris and overgrown, the flag was frayed and torn, the sign was pealing. There was no transportation from the hotel to the Airport, it’s quite a walk to the nearest bus stop.
I thought a shower would help, I touched the bar when you adjust the temperature, so I wouldn’t fall when washing my feet, and I was having a cool shower as it was hot, and I got burnt by the metal. It was the worst hotel stay in my memory.

The staff was really nice, but the area is far from the airport about 20 minute drive, there is nothing around the hotel, the room had some convenient features but the carpet had stains all over and the tv was jammed in the corner on a tiny table that was standing over the third bed which was dangerous and kept hitting it at night. The area was also noisy right next to a major road. Closed the windows and could still hear the cars.

Although it is said that near to airport, not even close to airport and the nearest bus station needs to walk 8 mins. Actually if there is no bus to transit, you can only call taxi or Uber.

Also the hotel didn’t provide bottle of water, shampoo, slippers. But overall the room suits for 3 persons. No noise even closer to main road.

business hotel - quiet at weekends, fantastic buffet breakfast at 13€, clean, great bathroom in a smallish room, european size beds, very good matrsses and wonderful german style bed sheets - loved it.
Travelers from the US be aware you need digital proof of vaccination, CDC cards not accepted. Pharmacies may transscribe your CDC card but may not because vaccine batch data from the US cannot be recognized by the EU database. Better take care of that up front, they won‘t check you in without.

This was just a 1 night stay as I had an early flight the following morning. I checked in pretty late and left first thing so didn't interact with many staff and didn't use many services so can only comment on the room. Room's are slightly older compared to some hotels. Room was pretty clean and the bathroom was very large and spotless. Overall and OK 1 night stay. Wifi wasn't great.

Very clean, but a few things worth noting. You will think you’re getting a great deal on price for the hotel, until you discover transportation. You will pay premium for a taxi from the airport. There is a secret bus but it’s a pain to walk 1 mile to. And for those that are water environmentalists, you will grit and bare it when the shower dribbles on you with that extra layer of water saver device on it. Oh, and that continental breakfast with all those baskets of bread to fill you up; you will pay for that too. So a hotel at one price, throw in RT taxi, and that breakfast, you’ve doubled your price.

we travelled to Berlin for a family and Mahlow was in a good position for this. we only had 5 days so needed to make the most of it. not speaking a word of German, my husband managed to negotiate his way around the railway which was a good 20 min walk, then Berlin was 35mins on the train.
the hotel staff were lovely, efficient and tidy. we had a problem in both rooms with the aircon, reception moved us without question, and we were in a new room that same morning ! highly recommend, although if your mobility is a bit shaky too much walking required. not much in town of Mahlow.

Booked this as working at nearby Messe Exhibition Centre at Schonefeld Airport, convenient as only a few minutes drive away. Good size rooms, although all the beds are set us as doubles even though we booked twins, but were able to move them a bit. Near enough to walk to shops and McDonalds at the retail park, which includes Aldi's and some clothes shops. Rates were good booked through Expedia and added bonus of having a hot tub, steam room and sauna which were lovely at the end of the day, so take your swim wear.

When I booked the hotel I didn't really read much about the location, so I was a little put out to see it wasn't as close to the centre as I thought. However, the shuttle service operated by the hotel was very efficient and so this wasn't a problem at all.

Staff were very pleasant and willing to please. (I got the impression that the people on reception were perhaps on a summer job as they seemed very young, but they were still very professional.)

My room was nicer than my flat! It was kept very clean and tidy.

Berlin in general was wonderful. I found that as a single female traveller I did feel safe the entire time I was there, even when it was dark in the evenings. Don't believe what people may say about Berliners, without exception everyone I spoke to was kind and friendly. This was my first entirely solo journey and for any woman wanting to branch out and try solo travel, I'd say start with Berlin.

Business friendly near SXF/BER airport hotel

Stayed here the first night because my flight came in late and did not want to be searching for my hotel in the middle of the night. Took the hotel shuttle ($15 Euros) from SXF airport to hotel. Call from the airport and let them know that you arrived, and they will send it over. Stay was fine, no problem. Slept, showered and ate breakfast at their buffet. I paid for the buffet, which I knew from the start. It was reasonably priced in any event. It's a nice hotel, but not really for tourists because it's only real landmarks nearby are the SXF and BER airports. So, think it would be a good business airport friendly hotel. I have stayed in many of these types in other cities and they are quite useful under the right circumstances.
