No elevator and we were up 3 flights of stairs with suitcases. No TV. Room was clean, but carpet pretty dingy. Shower was inside bathtub and hard to get in for older folks like us.

There is no hotel staff, only the bartender and wait staff of the restaurant. We never received unique door codes to access our rooms. The restaurant and bar pipe in aggressively terrible covers of popular songs 24/7. Worst hotel breakfast in a month in Europe! Only place I was asked for a tip in that same month.

The location is fantastic, and the room size is decent, but there is no staff member to help check in, no elevators to help move luggage, no coffee or hot pot in the room. Would not recommend this hotel.

Location is very good. Close to mountains, so it is good for hiker. 15 minutes walk to Devil's bridge and Schollenen Gorge. The hotel is 5 minute walk to Andermatt railway station. There are 2 supermarkets near the hotel: Coop and Avec. The room is clean and enough for 3-4 people. From our room we can view the snowy mountain. The heater of the room is strong. The check-in is online check-in. At main entrance, you need to enter the 6 digit access code + room number and rotate clockwise the cylinder tube under the keypad. Access code and room number given by the hotel. Example 123456+001 for open main entrance and 123456 for open the bedroom.

Really convenient location! My first time in Andermatt and travelling by myself... i arrived by train and the Hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the station. The atmosphere and ambience was welcoming and they have a nice bar and restaurant area, and outisde seating too. Really relaxing from the get go! Staff were super helpful, my bed was nice and comfy, and although I was in a room that shared a bathroom, I had sole use of it for the 4 nights i stayed there! The restaurant food was tasy, well prepared and presented so ideal for staying in, and breakfast was simple and a good start to the day. And don't forget... any James Bond fan will want to visit and see the hotel that the crew stayed at when filming Goldfinger back in the 60's, with the iconic table ready for all to see! I was here for skiing, and it was a short walk to the Gutsch express, and a very short bus ride (or for the more intrepid, a bit longer walk) to the Gurscen Bahn. I loved my stay in Andermatt, and even more so at the Hotel Bergidyll!

Our stay at Bergidyll was truly good. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the Gütsch Express, which provides easy access to the mountain. The staff was remarkably friendly and helpful, and our spacious room comfortably accommodated the three of us. One suggestion for improvement: adding a kettle for morning coffee or tea would be a welcome amenity, particularly given the premium rate of nearly £400 per night. Please note that parking is limited, with options available in front of or behind the hotel.

Excellent old Andermatt property with a storied past. The team works hard to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast is not substantial, but an excellent way to start. Lunch and dinner options are excellent on site as are their local recommendations, all walking distance. Ski lift a 4-5 minute walk. Rooms are small and this is a village Inn so temper your expectations and you will have an amazing time! When we come back to Andermatt, we we stay here for sure!

Great staff, limited breakfast, rooms extremely small for two ski travelers, no fridge or coffee in rooms, walls are paper thin so every sound is shared - the neighbors had loud sex each morning, building has no lift and is ADA hostile.

Not sure it was clear that my room had a shared bathroom. HOWEVER, on my floor, only 3 rooms shared 1 bath and on the other side, 2 rooms shared another. Rooms and bathrooms are very nicely done and renovated. Sharing the bathroom wasn't a bother at all.

Walls are paper thin, beware shared bathrooms.

Unless the room description EXPLICITLY says 'private bathroom', you will have a shared bathroom. Choose wisely.

The walls are paper thin, got woken up on 2 different nights at 3 am by people taking phone calls or folk just coming home late from the bars. The owners/managers need to add signs to the upstairs rooms and corridors reminding people to keep the noise down. This also means people using the shared bathrooms can be heard coming and going from other rooms.

The lack of a reception desk and the weird keypad locks are hard to use (I could never get the web app to work) and since most of the staff there are working the restaurant, it's hard to know how to approach with room related questions. They have a chat option but it is manned by an AI bot, so getting quick results is unreliable.

All in all, an average stay.

How cool is it to stay where the Goldfinger cast and crew stayed? We had drinks at the same table Sean Connery had dinner. The hotel staff was really friendly. The location was perfect, right in the village and only a two minute walk to the lift. We highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the property but are here in an odd time between winter and summer season. This weekend none of the lifts were operating and are just about a week early from more of the restaurants being open! Our stay was great, comfortable, and slept well with a comfy bed and quiet town.

I understand paying a premium for premium food and premium service, but offering a traveller or guest water is a fundamental tenant of hospitality.

The location is top notch and within walking distance of the train station, gondola, co-op, restaurants and bars. There's even a great restaurant in the hotel. The complimentary breakfast has an excellent variety of breads, yogurts, cheeses, muesli, juices and unlimited espresso drinks! The ski room is a great idea just be sure to lock the door behind you since everyone's gear is stashed in the room. The common space for hotel guests was wonderful and inviting. Only a few improvements and suggestions. It would have been great to have a small refrigerator in the room since there is the convenience of having a co-op across the street. Overall the staff was great. We had a few miscommunications in regards to cleaning the room and laundry. Management was wonderful and is dedicated to making this place an amazing destination for your next visit to Andermatt!

Das Zimmer war extrem klein. Etwa 4-5 Quadratmeter mit einem 1.20m breitem Bett. Es war aber trotzdem als Doppelzimmer angegeben. Leider war auch nicht gut geputzt worden. Die Laken waren voller Staub und lnagern Haare. Das Gemeinschaftsbad war in Ordnung und auch sauber. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls in Ordnung.

Das Self-Check-In muss unbedingt neu und verbessert komuniziert werden, um die vielen verwirrten Gäste UND das nicht ausgebildete Restaurantpersonal zu entlassten !!
Es ist Zeit für eine Verbesserung, denn dieses Hotel war nicht das einzige Self-Check-In Hotel mit schlechten, ja falschen Instruktionen.

Hôtel qui a hébergé l’équipe du tournage de Goldfinger et qui semble un peu être resté dans son jus depuis 1964 🙂
Les plus : bel hôtel en bois très chaleureux, en plein centre du village ce qui est très pratique
Les moins : la chambre chère alors qu’elle était très petite et surtout le manque de personnel : pas de réception a proprement parler et comme nous sommes arrivés un jour de panne informatique il a fallu faire un Check-in en ligne sur place tandis que l’employee faisait l’accueil en même temps que le service à table

No soundproofing in the rooms

We stayed for one night and after a 14 hour drive at night and a full day in Switzerland we wanted to relax and have a good nights sleep. We stayed in room 13 which has NO soundproofing at all. We could hear everything going on in room 14 who unfortunately were loud, stayed up until late in the night, slamming doors and using a hairdryer in the hallway to dry their wet shoes … We got little to no sleep - won’t recommend this hotel.

Ich habe mich grundsätzlich sehr wohl gefühlt, ausser im äusserst kleinen Einzelzimmer. Die Grösse dieses Zimmers ist für den Preis doch schon grenzwertig. Der Service im Restaurant war sehr gut und freundlich.
