Fantastic historical hotel! Check your expectations before booking. If you want luxury and amenities, this is NOT your place. If you want historical charm, this IS your place. We spent our two evenings hanging out on the second floor look over, listening to violinist play from 6pm-10pm. Families were playing games at tables set up on second and third floor look over. Coffee and drinks available in the evening. We loved staying here and would highly recommend!

Great place to kick your boots and enjoy this historic inn. Old Faithful IS right there and the inn is very close to neighboring pools and geysers. Not alot to do in the evening so bring a card game and embrace the down time.

After prepaying around 3k for only two nights and two rooms and after a long day of traveling from the East Coast, my family was greeted by a sour-faced woman named Sandra who abruptly just said, \"You want to check in?\" with no smile and a blank stare. She continued to respond with a harsh rudeness to any questions we had. At one point she was argumentative.
We had no congenial welcome whatsoever!

The door knob to both of our rooms was loose, making it such an ordeal both to get in and out. In one room we couldn't close the bathroom door or we needed to call someone to help get it open. We did not stay in the main older section because we needed a bathroom in the room. The walls are so thin that we could hear conversations and more from beside us and even the floor above us. The beds are old and particularly uncomfortable.
We also made reservations at the overpriced dining room (that had few menu options) where, aside from a basic burger, we had forgettable meals that cost us far too much.
The attraction for this place is in the history of it, yet one should stay anywhere else but here at Yellowstone. We will never stay here again.

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve ever had. The room was disgustingly dirty when we arrived, with obvious signs that it had not been properly cleaned. The bathroom contained mold all around the shower and the floor had hair all over it. The photos online were extremely misleading and looked nothing like the room we were given. What was advertised as a nice, comfortable hotel was far from reality.

To make matters worse, the price was outrageously high for the quality of the accommodations. Paying a premium rate and then walking into a dirty, run-down room felt like a complete rip-off. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, accurately represented place to stay.

The property is amazing. The building itself is so well maintained and beautiful. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in what appeared to be the newer section that has its own bathroom. We chose this room because the log cabin style rooms share a bathroom with the room on the other side. Our room had a comfortable bed and small, clean shower. There really are no amenities to speak of. There is no pool/hot tub, no tv in the room, but that does t detract from the stay. We stayed there to be close to the park and be able to take a break for the night and get right back to it where we left off. Old Faithful is on the grounds, so we were able to see it easily. We loved our stay there!

The location right next to the geysers is the only reason to stay there. Stay at another hotel and just take a walk through the lobby. We booked a double room and was given a single. The manager told us that since we booked through Expedia there was nothing he could do to help, and he didn't seem to care that we were stuck. I had to pay for a second room. The actual rooms are small and run down. Threadbare and stained carpets. We had a view of the construction for what looks like a new hotel.

We loved this beautiful Inn! The property is like stepping back in time - amazing 4 story open lobby area with timber and stone everywhere. Lots of places to eat and nice gift shops all on the property. Old Faithful is just steps out the door, and there are beautiful walking and hiking paths all around to see the many geysers and hot spring pools. All the staff were very friendly and helpful also. Would definitely recommend!

This is a historic inn. We stayed in one of the old rooms with a shared shower and toliet. That was ok. If you are a light sleeper like me you will be able to hear the people talking next door and people walking upstairs. I’m glad we stayed there once.

NO WIFI. Expensive dinner. No 24x7 options for meals within the property. The adjacent snowlodge cafeteria charged a whopping 30 US dollars for 2 tiny sandwiches which were below average taste.
View of the old faithful from the corner room - so called is completely blocked by a tree.

On the positive side - The vibe of the place is good. Looks better in the pictures. Packed with crowds though. Thankfully the shared bathroom has a private room for bathtub which made it survivable.

The staff has characters - Mrs Crabby at front desk and Mister Lazy won’t help with your bags or in finding your room. A costly disaster — even a Motel 6 does much better. The dining room was amazing. Make reservations weeks in advance or you will not get a table. Loved that it’s within walking distance of several sights. Very commercial area though. When I book the room I was unaware it had a communal shower and toilet. Also no coffee facilities in the room. Check in requested my credit card again which seemed odd but the assistant Check in Manager seemed to think it was policy but not done at the snow lodge the day before which obviously made me suspicious. I only had one night stay so embraced the situation. Gotta say the check in staff at 5am the following morning were very helpful.

The Inn Is just as described. My initial experience with the front desk staff was not positive. The young lady checked me in (3:40) and told me I had to wait until 4:00 for my room. I understood that but then watched her check others in and give them their room keys and let them go to their room. Not sure why I was made to wait while others were allowed to go to their room. A later experience with a young man named Gabe was excellent.

Understand that this is a historic property, so not everything can be modern and up-to-date. For the Inn being over 100 years old, it is in great condition and very clean. Wifi is not available but cell reception is decent. There are no tvs or air conditioning in any of the rooms. Some rooms do not have bathrooms so pay attention when booking. It provides for an exceptional digital detox. All things considered, the staff was great, and the Inn provided an awesome experience of what it was like to live in the early 1900s (with a few added modern amenities)!

The radiator in the room was banging ALL NIGHT. Literally sounded like 2 metal water bottles continuously being hit against each other. No one got any sleep, which sucks when you’re driving around trying to see the sights. Kids grouchy the whole next day. The hotel is obviously charging for the location being inside the park but the rooms are super outdated. The faucet also continuously dripped, but luckily no one heard it because of…….the radiator.

The place was beautiful; the buildings were impressive. The room was small, and I was really disappointed that the only coffee in the room was decaf. When I asked the front desk about it I was told they didn’t have anything except decaf for the rooms until “tomorrow” - we could purchase coffee at the cafe. Well, the cafe had a line a mile long and we had an appointment for a tour at 7:00am. I understand that stuff happens, but for the price we paid for the room, I found that unacceptable.

Great location with historic significance built all the way back in 1904.

Checking in was a real hassle. The queue to check in starts the check in time of 4pm. However rooms were not cleaned and available even by 5pm.

There is a long wait to be seated in the dinning room even with reservations while the restaurant had quite a few empty tables.

Price is a little on the expensive side but there is a balcony where you can see Old Faithful erupt every 90 mins. There were also bison roaming around the property which adds to the charm. The proximity allows for a relaxed way to enjoy the geyser park. That makes the stay all worthwhile.

The location was wonderful and the lodge was very unique & historic so that was all very pleasant however the food and choices for food were uneatable and the amenities of a shared bathroom for showers and personal needs were scarce
Room was extremely small however comfy and charming. We were celebrating a milestone birthday, planned this trip for two years, asked for a fountain view which was blocked by a huge sign outside our window
Manager, Hailey was wonderful as was the rest of the staff. Accommodations were the big disappointment, left after one night.

One really needs to weigh the benefits of staying inside the park against the premium price of this hotel. Additionally, the facilities are in desperate need of upkeep. I was aware of the “charm” of shared bathrooms, and that didn’t bother me. I also knew there would be no WiFi or TV, which I was fine with. The noise level or this old hotel, the poorly insulated rooms, the lack or dedicated guest parking and the “free for all” of check in and the dining room were very disappointing. We were there on May 18, and it is possible the seasonal staff is still being trained—but when we arrived in our room we had one bathrobe and one towel. Our reservation was for two people. Additionally, we walked over to the “Geyser Grill” at the Snow Lodge for lunch and it was a disaster zone. I ordered a burger which was burned on one half and unfrozen on the other. When morning came—-everyone woke up together as the wooden doors slam shut and the opening mechanisms are loud and clanky.

Perhaps my biggest complaint is that one pays a premium for this hotel—-and then, upon arrival, they gouge their customers for drink prices, meal prices, etc.

Lovely setting and the staff tried hard, but we will skip a stay here or we pass by this way again.

There were no amenities! No phone, no TV, no air conditioning, no refrigerator, no microwave. If we needed the front desk, we had to go into the hallway to use the house phone. We literally had to climb over the end of the bed to get to one side of the bed, where the corner of the bed was at the corner of a wall. Pictures on Expedia were very deceiving. Requested a king room but were given 2 queens, only to receive an extremely small room with one queen. For $655.83, (yes, that's correct,) I would expect a little more. I left there feeling I got fleeced by a tourist trap.

We stayed in one of the original rooms, most of which use shared bathroom/shower facilities. The room was rustic and cool, although small in size. Very historic, as was the breathtaking lobby. Unfortunately the men's showers on our floor were flooded and out of service during our stay, and two floors were left using the two remaining showers on the upper floor. The bathroom also continuously smelled of urine. The food in the main dining room was mediocre, to put it mildly, and dining choices were limited. This hotel is a cultural and historic treasure (and the rooms are priced accordingly), and it's a shame that the folks managing it can't meet a standard of service reflecting this.

This was a last minute Bucket List stay for me and it was everything I dreamed it would be. The Inn is old so the rooms are dated appropriately and very clean. In the was a kettle for hot water for the provided coffee and tea bags. The window opened for cool air and the bed was comfortable. There is no TV in the room so you can focus on your adventure. I did hear snoring from the room next door in the middle of the night when everything was quiet.
The Inn itself is so visually stunning. There are numerous places to sit and observe the scenery, play cards, have a drink. Read a book or even catch Old Faithful from the perfect window seat. I saw little seats at each level at the end of the hallways.
The negatives would be parking is difficult to find with all the rooms and all the travels in the smaller sized lot. Also I was there in the first half of May, so it would be early in the season, and there was construction taking place that started at 7:20am with heavy machinery and the sound of hammering. As long as you are an early riser this should not matter ( I am not, so it woke me up way too early for my idea of the perfect day).

The Old Faithful Inn is an iconic old hotel. The rooms are very outdated..No AC. Very small and not comfortable at all and way way overpriced. Dining at any of the restaurants was very disappointing especially the main dining room at the Inn..we made reservations and were told the earliest they could accommodate was 9 pm..We enjoyed the ambience of the lobby which afforded us a view into the dining room..From 6pm - 9pm we observed numerous empty tables in the dining room. On several occasions I inquired about getting in earlier and was told that the restaurant was booked..Not sure what was going on but once we finally got seated at 9pm the dining room was half full..The meals were overpriced and mediocre at best. Old faithful is a great place to visit. The beauty is truly breathtaking but I would not recommend staying on the grounds..very dissatisfied.

The building structure (largest log cabin the America) is so unique that it, by itself, warrants a stay. The amenities are a little limited, given the age of the building and the location. In the East wing, your room can feature your own personal view of the geyser. The staff was outstanding....very personable and helpful. The dinners were forgettable- short menu and not particularly well prepared (look for other options in the park). Conversely, the breakfasts were outstanding! Expansive buffet featuring fresh fruit and yogurt, pastries, eggs, wide selection of breakfast meats.......and the best biscuits and gravy I have had in years! All Americans should stay at Old Faithful at least once in their lives......quite an experience!

We stayed in the old, original part of the hotel. Our room had a view of old faithful just outside, which was wonderful to see erupt by starlight. There was nightly music performances and the dining was good with attentive staff. Just know, there is one shared shower and a multi-stall bathroom shared by the original rooms in the hall. There was a sink and mirror in the room however, so that was helpful in getting ready for the day. Truly a unique stay.

Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay. Sitting around the mezzanine, looking at the beautiful lodge and admiring how it was built, listening to the piano while having a drink in the evening was a relaxing experience!
The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Of course everything is older, but it was still a good experience.
Only two potentially negative things in my opinion. And they may not be everyone’s opinion so I’m not going to take a star off for them.
First, the scarcity of places to eat. We weren’t there on especially busy weekend. We were there early in May and the roads were barely open. However, all of the restaurants were so full that we ended up just having a burger for dinner, which was disappointing. If you’re going to have a hotel that can hold this many guests, at these prices, better dining options are needed.
I don’t understand the lack of Wi-Fi. We were warned about it, and thought we would be OK without it, but it was stressful. We couldn’t plan our drive home the next day and know how many hours it would take, or communicate with the people watching our house and dogs to make sure everything was OK. I like the idea of returning to a simpler time while in the park, but it’s a little ridiculous to not even have Wi-Fi in the lobby.

Great location! The room's were very clean. We had to wait several hours for our room to be ready. Our rooms were the ones with the shared bathrooms. Bathrooms were very clean. The ladies room had two toilet stalls but one was out of service during our stay. Not sure how many rooms were to use the shared bathrooms on our floor? But would be nice to have two working toilets. The food was good at the Obsidian and the servers were very nice. Was not able to secure a reservation at the main restaurant in the inn.

I guess my night was the first day opening for the full wings. Staffs were learning. No wifi at all. I drove Tesla and staffs were not familiar where the charging stations located in Old Faith inn area. There are two slow charging stations in Lodge area, about .5 miles from Old Faith inn. Location was the only good thing about this Inn.

The pro for this property of course is inside the park and right literally steps to old faithful. Staff was great as well. Room super basic and maybe lacked a little cleaning. No WiFi on property had to walk to snow lodge in order to use there WiFi. Makes navigation really hard when trying to explore Yellowstone. Not impossible but hard. Not problem disconnecting from tech but just would have been nice for that part alone. Gift shop, restaurants are reasonable. Make reservations especially if a family. Be happy if you have Verizon (or xfinity according to other guests) and this will work out awesome. Bear spray in gift shop I believe is $55, bought in Idaho for $50 so really reasonable there. Gas station on property.

This Inn is the place to stay in Yellowstone. Convenient, staff is amazingly helpful, food good. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Stay in a room facing Old Faithful, it's special!

If you want to experience what it was like 100 years ago, these are the rooms for you. However, I had to let the hot water run for 1 1/2 hrs before it finally turned tepid. And the clanking of the radiators, all night long. I appreciate the rustic charm and am glad to have experienced it at least once.

Went to check in at 5:50 PM was told our room would not be ready for an hour. Made a 8:00 reservation for dinner. Finally got checked in at 7:00. Went down for dinner at 7:50. Waited in a long line with others who had a reservation. Was seated for dinner at 8:40. Was told our food would take an hour to receive. An hour latter we received a cold burger and fries. The room was very cute and wasn't an issue not having a bathroom in room. It wasn't very noisy even though the hotel was sold out. We found out the next day that they had only been open 3 days into the season and the cleaning crew didn't show up. I would think after so many years they would have this down better. They did nothing to make any of it right but we still enjoyed our stay and the beauty of the old historical Inn.

Nostalgic Lodge, however no mini fridge, microwave, wi-fi, tv... anywhere on property. Our phones didn't work the entire time there either. No texts, phone calls, google, nothing. If you're good with \"roughing it\" its a cool place with a lot of charm and atmosphere!! No AC in room either.

Property is expensive, restaurant is expensive with limited choices and not special quality. We had a problem with the heater being stuck on in our room and despite reporting it, it was never corrected, which led to two restless nights. The location is the only redeeming quality.

The grounds and the actual property with a history of the building itself is amazing. I can understand the appeal of staying in a historic room, but being reduced to a community bathroom was not for us. We chose a room with an in room bathroom that was nice, but the beds were a little uncomfortable. Upon arrival, you are sent a text message asking you to text back if there is anything that you need. Upon booking the hotel, we had requested two glasses and a corkscrew to have a bottle of wine in our hotel room. Unfortunately, that accommodation didn’t happen when we checked in so upon getting the text message I text again to ask the desk if they happen to have at least a wine bottle opener. No response. After an hour of waiting, I decided maybe we could try and check the gift shop. They didn’t have one, but it was $37. This was immediately after we spent $150 in the restaurant on a meal that was just short of terrible. We had a 545 reservation our appetizer came out cold and uncooked, and we didn’t say anything. The entrées came out an hour after we were sat, and we were stone cold. At this point in time, we were annoyed and hungry and just asked them to please can just microwave it. Second round took another 25 minutes and barely warmer. No manager to the table, full price on the check. I haven’t sent back food at a restaurant in over 10 years. For how expensive it was to stay on property. The only thing that we really enjoyed were the sites. I would not stay here again.

Overall, our stay was nice. When we arrived, check in said 4pm. We had to wait until 7pm for our room to be ready, after a long day of travelling and having to wait with all our luggage. Finally we arrive in our room, there was no hot water, dirty sink and shower. We had groceries bought but no mini fridge in the room. No AC. Not pleasant. I believe the park had just opened, lots of building issues (plumbing). After speaking with the staff, we got a new room, it was better. Other than that, very rustic lodge with music entertainment in the lobby. You have to reserve for dinner in the dinning room but wait in line still. Prices for food and drinks are quite expensive since you are staying inside the park and there aren't many options. 50$ US for 2 people for breakfast buffet. The staff in the dining room were very friendly and helpful! But the price for staying 4 nights was very overpriced for what we got. Better to stay in West Yellowstone. Parking was fine.

Registration process was terrible. Staff told us to go to the wrong wing, gave us keys for the wrong room, and the room we ended up in wasn’t very clean. Staff in the dining room, bar, and throughout the hotel kept commenting on how no one knew what was going on (it was opening weekend). I understand bumps when getting up and running for the season but even something as simple as ordering extra toilet paper from housekeeping was complicated.
Brendon and Stacy were very nice and helped smooth over some things. Eamon in the bar was also good. Food in the dining room was greatly over priced and the $52 cut of ribeye was poor quality. Not nearly enough parking spots for hotel guests. Overall, the building is amazing and you can’t beat the location. Hopefully the staff are more on the same page as the season goes on.
