Hotel Meira is a 4-star family run hotel, with a history of more than 8 decades, located in Vila Praia de Âncora - northern Portugal -, just 2 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes' drive from Spain and 55 minutes from both Vigo and Porto airport. It has 52 rooms totally equipped with private bathroom, Meira Restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, meeting rooms, events area and privative parking.

Guests can also enjoy airport shuttle services, bike rental and outdoor programs. Located on the Portuguese Coastal Way (160 km from Santiago de Compostela), the Hotel has special conditions for pilgrims.

Lovely stay close to amenities

The building & room was clean & well maintained. Only stayed one night so didn’t get a chance to use the pool or spa facilities but they looked nice. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. The service of all the staff was polite but not particularly friendly. The location was excellent- close to restaurants, cafes, bakeries, shops, pharmacy. The beach was a five min walk away.

Lovely hotel, really well located and rooms very spacious and nicely decorated. All staff were really helpful.
My only gripe. Its billed as dig friendly, indeed the staff made a fuss of them, however we paid €40 for our 2 small (non malting, no hassle) dogs and then you cant take them in the bar or restaurant. We had ti sit in a soulless reception to have a drink. If you advertise as pet friendly then be that.

Nice hotel

This is a really cute hotel I stayed at on the Camino de Santiago. Lots of other pilgrims there. Sat by the pool and the bartender brought me an nice cold beer. Was very quiet and relaxing. There's also a sauna, which I did not use. Breakfast was good.

THE Hotel in town

This is the biggest and probably the best Hotel in town , great food in the restaurant , great selection in the buffet breakfast ( with few variation during my 1 week stay) , staff is really good and friendly, some room are brand new very modern , some are older ( but do have a balcony the old one which was nice) .
It is also few steps from the plaza and the beach ( not in the beach ) .Overall I like it and I would stay again .

We enjoyed 5 days at hotel Meira. The location is great and Ancora a wonderful beach. But our room was quite small and the lobby and common areas quite dark. A bit of light paint and some more lights would make the place look a lot better.

BTW, their Saturday buffet was quite good.

Nice Hotel, very kind staff, large breakfast with good quality products. Great value for money
I only slept there one night on the way to Galicia, so I can't really recommend much in terms of tourist attractions, but I took a note to come back here for a more relaxed visit

A great place to stay

Nicely located, very professionally and personally led, extremely clean, exceptional breakfast (according to Portuguese standards), very good value for mnoney dinner on Saturdays (called lovers buffet 2 for 15€) -definitely a go! Only downside: relatively small room, free parking 50 to walk.

Dyrt i forhold til hvad vi fik

Dyr overnatning i lille værelse - altan så vi over på kedeligt område og parkering skulle vi betale euro 4 pr nat selv om vi kunne parkere ude på gaden. De havde ingen restaurant og henviste til kun en 100 meter derfra - selv om der lå flere nede ved vandet

Uma escapadinha excelente. Os funcionários são de uma simpatia e profissionalismo a toda a prova. O quarto, não sendo luxuoso, é confortável e muito adequado. A decoração do Hotel é sóbria com pormenores de charme. A localização é excelente sendo muito perto da praia e de restaurantes. Voltaremos certamente.
