Housed in a restored century-old building which used to be a chocolate factory, this chocolate-themed hotel is in Viana do Castelo, in the north of Portugal. Fit for a Queen!

The room was clean and the furnishing was very comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fit for a queen. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would most definitely stay in this hotel again when visiting Viana do Castelo.

I stayed in this fabulous chocolate hotel in early October when I was walking on the Camino way. After a 10 mile day of walking, it was wonderful to get there and berated with a wine spritzer with chocolate shavings, delicious chocolate bar, and a beautiful hotel. The breakfast was included and was absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend this place.

Unique spot!

A unique property with an amazing staff that handled every request with a smile and desire to help! A nice breakfast. The chocolate factory was an interesting tour and the samples were great. We were well positioned for a great morning of walking. I highly recommend!

Nice hotel near city center and shopping

Hotel is one of the newer ones in the area. First time in any hotel that we had to use room key to keep air and lights on. We stayed one night and it seemed after awhile the a/c stopped cooling. We are not certain that’s normal. We woke up at 5am to cut thermostat down.

The staff is very helpful and all seemed to know English. Room was pretty clean. The only notable dirty area was the floor. That is probably harder to keep clean during a busy season. Only noticed floor due to a towel being dropped on it...

Overall pleased with our stay at this hotel.

Decent Hotel.....but

I really liked the hotel, area & cute rooms even though the bathroom fan & ceiling in our first room had issues. I had a do not disturb sign on my door as I was only at the hotel for 1.5 nights and did not feel the need for intrusions or cleaning as I prefer to save resources and peoples time. I returned to find staff in my room who acknowledged the presence of a do not disturb sign on my door but they walked in anyway. The manager tried to tell me this was normal \"in Portugal and this hotel\". I had just stayed 2 other nights in Portugal. Do not disturb signs have been universally respected in every other country & hotel I have been in but this one. The manager was quite rude to me about it. The female receptionist who was working at the time laughed in our faces. It left extremely sour notes on an otherwise nice hotel & experience. The gentlemen who worked nights & helped with our late check in / early check out was incredibly kind & professional.

Great hotel in a town well worth visiting. The hotel is fairly new and the rooms are fitted to a high standard. Breakfast is excellent and the restaurant is also good for lunch and dinner. The staff were really helpful and always very friendly. Although there is no parking at the hotel there is an underground car park a hundred meters away

Funky Hotel

It is a very funky hotel - love the themed rooms. The cleaning staff allowed my kids and I to see the rooms they were setting up. Very cool. The museum in the basement is a great use of space and the breakfast was one of the best on our trip.

The place is fabulous for everyone, my son wants to live there permanently, the staff is great, the restaurant is fantastic, hats off to the chef! The service in restaurant is good but to make it a 4+ star should be worked on and that is all the slightly negative we have. Really loved it, don't miss the museum very informative even if you think you know about chocolate there is something to learn

O café da manhã é excelente, com muitas opções e muito chocolate! O cheiro de chocolate do local é maravilhoso. Decoração muito bonita, hotel confortável e bem localizado. O museu do chocolate é focado em crianças, mas foi legal conhecê-lo. Todos os funcionários são muito atenciosos. Não tem estacionamento, mas há possibilidade de estacionar na rua, mas tem que tem ter sorte.

Fomos para um retiro católico na cidade e reservamos esse hotel para passarmos a noite. Mas não imaginávamos que iríamos ter uma experiência incrível no hotel. Hotel simpático e staff muito atencioso. Os quartos têm pequena dimensão e estão um pouco ultrapassados em termos de decoração, porém confortáveis. O museu do chocolate no piso inferior está deteriorado e desinteressante, precisa claramente de ser renovado.

Bom hotel no centro de Viana

A estadia correu bem, o quarto era adequado ao que pretendia e tinha uma varanda generosa. O pequeno almoço era bom, embora pessoalmente ache que o conceito gera algum desperdício (presumindo, obviamente, que os alimentos trazidos para as mesas e não consumidos não são reutilizados).

Das Hotel befindet sich direkt in der Stadt, ist aber dennoch ruhig. Die Aussicht ist daher natürlich nicht besonders schön. Die Zimmer sind sauber, aber auch schon etwas „verwohnt“. Der Empfang im Hotel mit einem Schokoladengetränk war toll. Die Lage für den Camino ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Hotel muito original, bem localizado. Funcionários muito simpáticos e competentes. Muito bom pequeno almoço. Conforto do quarto agradável, mas para o nosso gosto, o colchão era demasiado mole. Pone que tiene parking y no es así, tienen convenio con un parking cercano pero hay que ir andando y viajando con niños y lloviendo si pone que tiene parking se entiende que es en el propio hotel. La habitación muy pequeña. El hotel es caro para lo que ofrece.

O hotel é muito bom! Mas com base nas avaliações que li, minha expectativa quanto ao café da manhã estava alta, no entanto é bom mas não excepcional. E tivemos uma experiência não muito boa em relação ao atendimento específico de uma pessoa mas no geral fomos muito bem tratados.
