The entire hotel & view were stunning. Being able to walk to the falls after the park is closed felt like a gift, it was magical to walk up close to the falls with hardly anyone around. The staff were very attentive & everyone was so friendly. The buffets are a must! We loved the variety of food. This is a wonderful property & well worth the extra price to stay here.

I would give the Hotel das Cataratas 10 out of 5 stars. By far the most gorgeous and luxurious place I have ever stayed in, service was exquisite, everyone was friendly, food was delicious, spa heavenly, poolside: this is The Life. Best possible access to the spectacular Iguacu Falls, a breathtaking Wonder of the World. When everyone else was getting herded onto tour buses, I could come and go as I pleased, and stay and watch the sunset and even the stars at night - Orion upside down! A very full but somehow relaxing day, with hike to falls and boat ride- luxurious AND adventurous. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

It has the feel of a grand old resort (and I don't mean \"old\" in any sort of pejorative sense at all; it felt like what I imagine going on safari in a luxury lodge would have felt like in the 1800s). The facilities and the location are, for an Iguacu vacation, absolutely second to none. The staff were exemplary, the available outings everything I could ask for, and the views (we had a falls-view room) outstanding. If I'm ever to return to Iguacu, I will come here.

Unbeatable location inside the park, with access to the trails before and after the park opens. Hotel itself is a luxury experience, except for the many mosquitos in the room at night (even with window tightly shut)! The service is excellent. I made pre-arrival bedding requests: they were acknowledged before and upon arrival, and perfectly met!
Note that this (Brazilian) side of the Falls has only one trails, so there is not much to do once you have done that 45-minute to one-hour trail. Unless you are content to sit by the pool and just relax, I'd recommend just a one-night stay.

I was hesitant to stay here because it’s much more expensive than other options but I’m so glad I did. This hotel is phenomenal. Being able to access the falls before and after hours makes it worth every penny. It’s magical to be able to experience them without the crowds.

This hotel is pricey, indeed. But worthy. Service is great, optional tours are amazing. Even the free tours are very nice. Restaurant is not cheap, but food is unique and perfect. Breakfast is gorgeous. And last, the fact that you can enjoy the falls before and after park opening hours is priceless. We could enjoy night view and early morning view by ourselves! The full walkway was ours! If I have the chance to go back to Iguaçu, I will use this hotel again.

What a gem! This historic hotel complex is exceedingly well kept. This was the splurge at the end of our 3-week trip in South American...quite beautiful and luxurious! The staff was top notch. We had wondered whether to stay in the Gran Melia on the Argentinian side, but when we saw that hotel in the flesh, it looked like a 70s concrete structure, whereas the Belmont just has style and class and a stunning wide angle view of the falls, so we were so glad that we chose the Belmont.
We also wondered how easy it would be to get from the Argentinian side to the Brazilian side, but the reality was that every taxi driver seemed to offer the service and for us, it was a simple 50 minute drive across the border.
Once there, the staff were so friendly and helpful and they also gave us a complimentary late check out, which was great for a late flight. The decor of the hotel had a colonial feel, with stylish bars and a lovely terrace for having an evening cocktail or two. Overall, a magical hotel and highly recommended

This is a beautiful hotel within the National park on the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls. The facilities in the hotel are excellent but its main advantage is the fact that you can access the falls on foot before and after the park is open to other visitors so you can avoid the crowds. Watching sunset over the falls with a glass of champagne only steps from our room is something I will never forget.

If you’re going to visit Iguazú Falls, this is the place to stay! The hotel is beautiful and immaculately maintained. The attention to detail and the service is among the best we’ve experienced in other 5-star resorts around the world. We stayed in the Presidential Suite (Princess Diana stayed in this suite) and it had an incredible view of the Iguazú Falls. The swimming pool was one of our favorite places. This is a beautiful hotel with a great location inside the national park at Iguaçu falls. The staff is bery friendly and accommodating. The restaurants are excellent with unique food options. The Y restaurant is wonderful with tasty and unique meal choices. There is a lot to do and see in the area so i would recommend staying for at least 3-4 days. The hotel transportation is to notch and the guides are outstanding. Our driver/guide was Itamar and he was the best ever. Friendly, humorous an knowlegable!

Everything from the welcome to check-out was first class. Every staff member seemed happy to see you and concerned that you had a great experience. All this plus avoiding the crowds by having the Falls open to you after closing made for a wonderful stay. It was our first visit to a Belmond Hotel and we will look for these in the future!

It was a very average room in need of a major renovation. The staff were mostly friendly and efficient. Our bar waiter, Filipe, was exceptional. On our last night in the hotel, there was a wedding and the service and food quality at dinner both suffered. The previous evening it was excellent.
The ONLY reason that this hotel commands such sky-high prices is its location inside the park.

Beautiful hotel in the National Park, steps away from the walk along the river, with fantastic views of Iguasu Falls. Superb breakfast, very comfortable room, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Great choice of dining - one gripe is that we were unexpectedly charged for filtered water at dinner (despite the fact that they freely hand out cans of water throughout the day, and provide 2 big bottles of filtered water at turn-down each night). We were able to catch the free shuttle (they run every 20 mins) to the gates and then a short walk to the Bird Park

If you wish to see the Falls privately this is the only way to do it. The views are amazing. The staff and facilities are second to none. The food is absolutely amazing. Pro tip: if you are flying into Argentina airport call the hotel 48 hours in advance and have them arrange your transportation. Getting over the border will take about 15 minutes rather than hours.

This is an amazing hotel only footsteps from and with views over the famous Iguazu Falls. From its pink facade to the sumptuous furnishings and artwork, the friendly and experienced staff, delicious food, this hotel has it all.
The only small criticism I would make is regarding the plastic sun-bed cushions which are very uncomfortable and the towels just slip away. Some more up to date fabric covered cushions would be a very welcome improvement.
