The breakfast was also good and staff were very friendly, particularly at breakfast. It was also in an excellent location for events at the Hydro or SEC, and for exploring the westend of Glasgow.

Bad things first - the bed (I had a single room) was without doubt the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the pillows old flat and hard. The tea and coffee in the room are only caffeinated (they have no alternatives), and the soap and shower gel are basic.
BUT, everything was clean (furniture a little shabby) and the free car parking (on a first come first served basic) was a real treat. It’s also in a good location, lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, 40 min walk to George Square and 15 mins to the fantastic Kelvingrove or Huntarian museums - the Mackintosh House is a must

Very well placed for Glasgow's West End and also for the concert venues at the Hydro and the Armadillo. Very traditional style hotel with excellent reception staff. I didn't try the breakfast as I usually try to support local coffee shops and cafes. I was single traveller and I found the room to be a good size with a double bed. It was on the lower ground floor but there was still natural light from a window, even if the garden outside could do with a wee bit of tending. Everything that you really need for a a weekend stay. I would recommend it.

The hotel is in a great location, opposite the park. Public transport easily within walking distance. Room was very clean and tidy. Check in was fast and friendly. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast in the morning was great, the food was great, the customer service was beyond that. They would always ask if you needed anything, and you were very looked after and felt welcomed. I would recommend this hotel for a multiple night stay, I only stayed 1 night. Highly recommended.

This hotel was very basic. On the plus side, we managed to get one of the few parking spaces. The room was quite hot and there were no glasses or bottled water. The hairdryer was old and sounded and smelled like it might catch fire so I gave it a miss. The staff in the breakfast room were very nice but the food was not great. Basic is the best way to describe this hotel. But it was in a good location.

The only negative was the small TV with very tinny sound but I only needed the room to sleep in so that wasn't a big issue. I would highly recommend for a very reasonably-priced overnight in the city.

The beds are super hard and I didn’t have a good shower all week. The first day, the water pulsed hot and cold and then the power for my whole room shut off- no lights nothing. They had to set me up in the hall outside someone else’s room to dry my hair. Two other times during the week, the water just shut off partway through my shower. The only saving grace here is the people. The staff were kind and helpful and the location is great.

Yeah it was ok. Some huge amount of creaking around the hotel but it is an old building. Not quite sure why a £1 requirement was taken and won’t be refunded for almost two weeks. Not the money, just the principle. Generally good for a nights sleep.

We booked for two nights. We weren't told until we arrived for check in that a £50 fee would be charged as a deposit. I didnt see this anywhere when booking, nor on the hotel website or in my emails. The room appeared clean but the wardrobe was broken upon arrival, and the floor felt uneven and rickity. Up and down in many places. We felt like we could fall through it at any point and it was effort to walk balanced. I ended up staying the first night with my partner in a different hotel, while my two brothers stayed in this room. The next morning they said the beds were awfully uncomfortable and checked out early, booking a different hotel for the 3 of us for our second night. The lady at reception was friendly enough but 100% none of the 3 of us would stay again.
