The staff was welcoming and helpful and the room was cute and comfortable in all but one respect and the Hotel is well positioned for transit and tourism. That one thing though might be a deal breaker for larger persons on longer holidays. I literally could not squeeze myself through the door to the shower.

Very well placed for Glasgow's West End and also for the concert venues at the Hydro and the Armadillo. Very traditional style hotel with excellent reception staff. I didn't try the breakfast as I usually try to support local coffee shops and cafes. I was single traveller and I found the room to be a good size with a double bed. It was on the lower ground floor but there was still natural light from a window, even if the garden outside could do with a wee bit of tending. Everything that you really need for a a weekend stay. I would recommend it.

The hotel is in a great location, opposite the park. Public transport easily within walking distance. Room was very clean and tidy. Check in was fast and friendly. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast in the morning was great, the food was great, the customer service was beyond that. They would always ask if you needed anything, and you were very looked after and felt welcomed. I would recommend this hotel for a multiple night stay, I only stayed 1 night. Highly recommended.

This hotel was very basic. On the plus side, we managed to get one of the few parking spaces. The room was quite hot and there were no glasses or bottled water. The hairdryer was old and sounded and smelled like it might catch fire so I gave it a miss. The staff in the breakfast room were very nice but the food was not great. Basic is the best way to describe this hotel. But it was in a good location.

Great value for a city centre hotel at the weekend. The room was spotless and in excellent condition with all the necessary facilities of tea and coffee and hairdryer. The only negative was the small TV with very tinny sound but I only needed the room to sleep in so that wasn't a big issue. The bathroom was immaculate and looked freshly decorated and everything worked perfectly.The staff on check-in and check-out were friendly and professional. I would highly recommend for a very reasonably-priced overnight in the city.

The beds are super hard and I didn’t have a good shower all week. The first day, the water pulsed hot and cold and then the power for my whole room shut off- no lights nothing. They had to set me up in the hall outside someone else’s room to dry my hair. Two other times during the week, the water just shut off partway through my shower. The only saving grace here is the people. The staff were kind and helpful and the location is great.

Yeah it was ok. Some huge amount of creaking around the hotel but it is an old building. Not quite sure why a £1 requirement was taken and won’t be refunded for almost two weeks. Not the money, just the principle. Generally good for a nights sleep.

We booked for two nights. We weren't told until we arrived for check in that a £50 fee would be charged as a deposit. I didnt see this anywhere when booking, nor on the hotel website or in my emails. The room appeared clean but the wardrobe was broken upon arrival, and the floor felt uneven and rickity. Up and down in many places. We felt like we could fall through it at any point and it was effort to walk balanced. I ended up staying the first night with my partner in a different hotel, while my two brothers stayed in this room. The next morning they said the beds were awfully uncomfortable and checked out early, booking a different hotel for the 3 of us for our second night. The lady at reception was friendly enough but 100% none of the 3 of us would stay again.

Nice room - big. Was across the street from the main hotel, but easy to access (stairs were mandatory, but not a problem at all). Description said parking was available but limited. When I checked in, I was told even though a spot was available I was not entitled to it; after pushing back I was told I could park there so it was a minor inconvenience but I feel something future guests should know. Breakfast was outstanding and location was very good. Would definitely stay there again.

Pros: Price was very good. Location was good, lots of restaurants around, easy access to downtown via walking, bus, cheap cab and walkable to OVO Hydro. The unique tartan in each room was charming. Cold water station at front desk was nice. Call button for cabs was helpful. We didn’t have breakfast but could smell it through the open window in the morning and I anticipate it is delicious, and I appreciated the ability to open the window wide. Shower size and power was good. Bathroom was a good size and well laid out. Appreciated the free city maps at the front desk. Bed was small (which we knew coming in) but was very comfortable. Bar next door had cheap (but good) pizza.
Cons: Rooms were small which we knew coming in, but looking at the room map, it appears we got the smallest room on the floor had to move furniture and garbage cans to put two suitcases on the floor. No common area to sit in as I have seen with other hotels/BNBs with small rooms. More hooks in bathroom, on walls and doors and/or shelves would be helpful to hang up towels and other things. Cons: Rooms were small which we knew coming in, but looking at the room map, it appears we got the smallest room on the floor had to move furniture and garbage cans to put two suitcases on the floor. No common area to sit in as I have seen with other hotels/BNBs with small rooms. More hooks in bathroom, on walls and doors and/or shelves would be helpful to hang up towels and other things. We loved nearly everything about the Argyll. The staff is super-friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast is incredible, and the accommodation wonderful with one exception: the mattress was old and worn and had permanent dips in it, and was therefore uncomfortable.

First time to the Argyll Hotel, booked a single room. Nicely appointed, ground floor. All staff really friendly, both reception and breakfast crew. Special thank you to the young man on reception who lent me his 'phone as mine had died. Hotel is perfectly situated for visits to the Kelvingrove Museum, concerts at the bandstand, and a multitude of restaurants and bars in this nice area of Glasgow.

Ok just for overnight but not good value for the room. Towels did not smell fresh i suspect this is due to consistent cleaning at low temperatures. Skylight couldn't be opened but then raun would've come in had we been able to. Staff were friendly and breakfast average.

Not sure about this hotel as it needs renovation, but then it meets the basics. First impression is not good at all with worn off carpet by the reception. Lift seems very old and somehow unsafe! We only used it once - too scary! Room was spacious, but one bed so close to the door that it wasn't opening in full/bed blocking it. Rather old furniture but all clean. However, bathroom not so. Bathtub/shower, sink and toilet clean, but lots of greasy dust and dirty marks on door, extractor fan etc. I almost complained about it but then was too tired after a busy day. Breakfast was fantastic. Great, friendly staff and delicious food. The dining room is nice and looks much more modern than the rest of the hotel. I don't think we will be back just for the great breakfast though!

Great stay at the Argyll hotel. Ideally situated for the places I was visiting. Lovely room and nice bathroom, tea and coffee facilities provided. Being at the front of the hotel on the first floor meant there was street noise but it was fine. Nice comfy, clean bed and everything I needed for a night's stay. Shame the vegan cafe below the hotel was closed as that would have been ideal for breakfast/dinner, as there wasn't breakfast included in my room rate. Overall, enjoyed my stay.

Another amazing stay at this lovely hotel. This is our second time staying and we chose the four poster bed room again, which is located in the third floor. It was amazing. Its very tastefully decorated, clean, good sized room with lovely bright tidy and clean ensuite bathroom. Breakfast is at level 0 a d bigfet style with plenty of hot and cold options to suit everyone. As well as the hotel, they have a guest house on the opposite side of the road with breakfasts served at the hotel only. We will definitely be back again soon.
