Was a very good stay. Our first initial room was very small for two people but we made do with it. We had an issue with plumbing in it and got moved to another room as it couldn’t get fixed that night. The new room was much bigger and easier to move around. Unfortunately the shower didn’t drain good so we were ankle deep in water while showering. Could do with a deep clean in the corners of the shower as there was some mold and dusting on the bed frame. Staff were good and quick to help us.

The location is right beside Sloterdijk Station with train, tram and bus connections just outside. The room is clean and quiet, but with no wardrobe or safe, only 4 hangers on a pole. Breakfast is adequate although the single central island for the toaster, pastries and hot food makes it very crowded at times.

Worst holiday inn we have stayed in. Rooms are to a poor standard, carpets stained, curtains marked, shower doesn’t drain and pools at the bottom. Overall rooms feel dirty and dated. On top of this, dealers hang around outside the hotel offering substances at every given opportunity. Would not recommend for families or solo travellers.

If you’re contemplating staying here, I’d encourage you to spend that bit extra and stay in the centre and save the train/taxi fare.

We arrived early so pre checked in. When we came back about 4pm, two of the rooms were not ready straight away. Not all the rooms were well cleaned. Bar service took too long. At one time we were waiting over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged before being served

Bedsheets and bed itself was clean, everything around is stained and quite thoroughly stained. Staff is very kind, nothing against the staff they are simply working with what they have. Breakfast is ok as well, big issue was that a fire alarm went off. This itself isn’t an issue but it took quite long to resolve the issue, emergency doors didn’t function properly and we were left standing outside without information initially.

It is close to the train station, the room is clean and spacious, and the breakfast is okay.
However, public transport in the Netherlands is quite expensive, so if you plan to travel to Amsterdam city centre frequently, staying here may not be the most cost-effective option.

Lovely hotel. Easy check in. The only thing I would say is maybe put different time slots in for breakfast as it was very busy on the slot we picked (we picked the green on the traffic light system so it would be quieter and it wasn’t). Overall lovely stay and we’ll definitely be back!

Very difficult to find the entrance to guest parking, I drove around the vicinity for about an hour trying to find how to get to the front of the building and guest parking. I had to park somewhere and walk under the heavy rain to get to hotel reception and ask how and where to park.

They take overbookings and when you arrive at the property they’d say we are fully booked. Very evil and unethical behavior. Preying on travelings that Are already exhausted from travels. I’ve spoken to staff and they all confirmed most of the week was -10 in terms of rooms. I’ve seen families with kids and travelers that already lost their luggage get turned away while they have a PAID and confirmed reservations for months. Like I did. Stir away and pay a bit more and buy your peace of mind knowing you’re covered.

Room cleaning was not done properly only beds were made and the trash was take out. The shower drain took a lots of time to drain the water. Otherwise the hotel is amazing, comfortable and neat. It is also very close to the station and that make it easy for travel every day

The hotel is right beside the train, tram and bus stops, so convenient and didn't take long to get into the centre. Room was clean and comfortable with a nice shower with shampoo and nice bodywash. Tea and coffee in room. Buffet breakfast had a good choice and was very well organised. Staff were all brilliant and very attentive. I would not hesitate in recommending and would definitely stay here again.

The location is good, right next to Sloterdijk train station. The service from the front desk was a let down. They were cold and on multiple occasions when I politely said thank you during check in or check out, there was absolutely no acknowledgement in return, not even a smile.

This is an excellent facility for the Sloterdijk area. Very easy approach from the airport and the Central train station.
The breakfast is always sumptuous and a good variety.
More and better staff attention will be appreciated for isolated Incidents, like our sink clog. Even after we reported twice, no fix was arranged upto the time of our check out.

I found the hotel in good order, my room was very clean and comfortable. The bath room had an excellent shower! The dining area was very clean and the team were around cleaning all the time. The location is super convenient! A bit far from the city center but you have all public transportation options literally outside the hotel, so just plan ahead time-wise. All of the staff was really attentive, we arrived a bit early and were kindly assigned a room right away. Breakfast doesn’t have many options, but it’s tasty and a good way to start your day.
Taking a star off just because the rugs are a bit dirty, and mainly because our shower had a constant leak and when using it the water would randomly go from super hot to super cold so it was quite uncomfortable to shower.

The hotel building itself is just ok but the area around it is a disaster. Lots of sketchy people from the dark continent hanging out right in front of ther hotel until all hours of the night yelling and playing loud music on portable speakers making passersby feel uncomfortable.I wont be staying there again. Also, the set up was strange, you accessed you room from the main floor but reception was on the second floor so there was no security at all at the entrance floor, I came in one night to see a homeless guy sleeping in the corner of the elevator lobby. Do youself a favour and spend the extra money to stay in Centrum. At least the sketchy people there have some charcter.

We were offered a free drink for the first day to have no cleaning in our room because the hotel was full. We didn’t receive any cleaning the whole 4 days despite being told it was only for 1 day. Charged 6 euros to store our bags, never had to pay for this service in any other hotel. It seems like a busy hotel constantly trying to save on costs

I frequent Holiday Inn when i travel. Staff was super helpful and friendly. The hotel location is perfect. Right next to the train station and tram lines. Food around the hotel is a little bit limited but you can walk or take the train to any where. Only thing I did not like was the people standing near the revolving door entrance of floor 0 it made us feel unsafe. Besides that the experience was great, I would definitely come back.

Frustrating experience

Overall, the stay was adequate but it was not great and had several frustrating experiences. When we arrived our first night after a long day of travel, they did not have the correct room type we had reserved available. We had to stay in a different room our first night and then pack up again, store our luggage and then check into a new room the next night for the rest of our stay. When we got into that second room the beds were terrible (could feel every spring) and the room was incredibly hot (thermostat read 43 celsius!). So we had to change rooms yet again. The third room was adequate but was missing the security latch on the door lock which made me a bir uncomfortable. We did get our beds made and new towels every day. They emptied the trash but very obviously never vacuumed or dusted and the room didn't feel all the way clean. For all our frustration, we were initially just offered a voucher for a free drink. Not only do we not drink, but that felt like very inadequate compensation for having to change rooms multiple times and not have the cleanliness we usually expect from a Holiday Inn Express. They did refund half of the Amsterdam city tax (approx 22 euros) but again, feels like very inadequate compensation. The location next to the train station was convenient and the best perk of the place. But it did make for a noisy location. Overall, I would not recommend this place and it does not meausure up to what I expect from a Holiday Inn Express.

We stayed for 6 nights. We were offered a drink each for each day that we did not use housekeeping service. Extra towels were available to us. So we had housekeeping 1/2 thru our stay as a contribution to the environment.
It was a cool rainy week and our room thermostat was not working. The hotel provided a heater.
Two very comfortable twin beds put together, one soft and one firmer mattress.
Cozy comforters and pillows.
Free delicious breakfast with lots of options.
Close proximity to the train, metro, tram and bus station makes getting around so easy.

Mixed feelings about staying at Holiday Inn expres

While the bed, bathroom, and linens were clean., The carpet had stain throughout. Very disconcerting. Breakfast was plentiful and good variety. That was the best thing about the hotel. Staff gave averaged to poor customer service. One particular staffer was quite unpleasant and did not assist at all When asked about getting around in Amsterdam. The surrounding area was quite unpleasant with lots of homeless people hanging around the building. The fact that Metro and tram was immediately accessible right by the hotel was an excellent feature.

A very reliable chain of hotels, this Holiday Inn Express was conveniently situated right next to a train station and not far from the airport. Breakfast was good, staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean. Cleaning of room can be exchanged for free drink at bar. Thought there would be a safe in the room but there was not sadly. Was offered safe room instead but declined. All in all though, a satisfactory stay.

Convenient location being right next door to a train station, metro station and bus station.
Quick train trip into the heart of Amsterdam City.
Also convenient as we were able to catch the train from the Airport to Sloterdijk Train Station which is next door to the Hotel.

If my regular go-to hotel in the area is booked up, I will stay at this one. Very conveniently located, steps from the train station.Last time I was there it was very busy, and they made me wait several hours before they gave me a room (arriving in the morning from the USA, it is good to have the option to check in early. Normally they try to accommodate you, this time I waited 5 hours).Also, I did not like how they push you to opt out of cleaning services in exchange for one drink a day....really a bad deal. I was too tired to have it reversed, once I realized they had made me accept it.
