Excellent stay here for 3 nights. Spacious room with all the things you need and a Beautiful view of the Arabian Sea from our balcony. Very relaxing surroundings and variety of different cuisines in the main restaurant . Great customer service. They brought a chocolate cake and candles to our room for my boyfriend’s birthday. Would return!

may have been a good hotel previously but now is rather shambolic . we had to move 3 club rooms within 3 days out of a 6 day stay . the first room we had a terrace that we shared with pigeons, crows and pigeon poo. came back to the room one afternoon to find a crow savaging through the room . the second room was next to an external event space which orevebted us from sleeping the whole night . management agreed to refund 2 nights stay . after 2 weeks we are still waiting for the refund. they found all the readons in the world not to refund the amounts to my card on the departure day. this was a terrible stay . this hotel simply destroyed my vacation

we booked a club room at respectable prices believing that we would get a decent room . the first room that we were given had an outdoor terrace that we shared with pigeons and pigeon poo and chuckling all day and night . we were then on complaint given another room but fronting their outdoor party area that gad loud music and people talking to past 11pm . i needed a quiet holiday having recovered from a heart attack

Outstanding, very hard to fault. Beautiful setting, attentive staff. Delicious food. Lovely swimming pool and beach. Only thing for me is that it is very expensively priced. Stayed in comparable places around the world where you get all inclusive for that price, whereas we had to pay on top.

But if you are happy with the price, then the resort is top class.

Our room overlooking the beach was OK. Shower could do with a good clean. There were a number of areas that need updating. Staff were very accommodating although breakfast was sometimes a bit chaotic as tables were not reset for more guests arriving. It is very much a corporate hotel with business events sometimes taking over areas of the hotel. On our last day the sunbed area by the beach was very restricted particularly in the afternoon for a corporate event later. Having a metal stake hammered into the ground about 5 feet from my sunbed did not create the relaxing vibe I expected!! I have alerted the hotel to my concerns but have yet to have a response.

This is the most beautiful propery I have ever stayed at. The food is really wonderful.

It is administrated very badly. We had a couple of terrible things happen to us.

Our room had a 'Do not Disturb' sign on it. The butler came and knocked on the door three times in a matter of 30 seconds and entered the room thus compromising our privacy.

We were in Club Rooms and paid a premium for these rooms. On our last evening there, they had blasting music playing on loud speakers right from 6.00pm to 10.30pm. It was really loud and our whole evening was disturbed. I complained and asked to speak to the Manager on Duty but he was not willing to speak with me.

I feel that I should receive a refund for one night.

However service was slow. By the time food got to the table it was cold most of the time. Took long time to get food ordered and sometimes it never came. Took long to get the check also. Food taste also was not so good.
Their room keycards still get deactivated if they are kept next to phone which was annoying.

Very beautiful hotel. Sprawling. With gorgeous views and a great design/architecture, where the rooms are below the reception level, dug into a cliff so the rooms have ocean view.

Extremely attentive and polite and helpful staff.

5 stars for the staff and the hotel property.

3 stars for the food. If you are foreigner visiting or residing in India and want to experience life abroad for a weekend, you will likely enjoy the food. But, as a South Indian living abroad, I found the food lacking in authenticity. And, given the property is so big, it is not easy to walk to local restaurants, so you are a bit stuck.

Same goes for airport taxi. 6x of what Uber costs is a bit much.

My family (4 adults and 2 kids) recently enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay at The Leela Trivandrum in two Premier Sea View rooms. Overall, it was a fantastic experience—everyone loved the stay and the food.

The breakfast, in particular, was a highlight. The quality and variety were truly commendable. A special mention must go to the chef for the outstanding millet dosa, which became a family favorite!

While the rooms had a slightly older feel, they offered a lovely ambiance with thoughtful furnishings, thermostat-controlled ACs, and a very spacious balcony. The balcony was perfect for relaxing, reading, or enjoying a coffee. We must thank Sunitha from housekeeping for maintaining our rooms so impeccably. The only minor drawbacks were some sporadic mosquitoes on the balcony during mornings and evenings and a missed opportunity for coconut water at the beach (though portable water was available).

What truly made our stay exceptional was the service. It was excellent across the board. All the staff were highly courteous and professional. We'd like to give special thanks to Sushmita, Neethi1, and Neethi2 at the front desk for their warmth and efficiency, making us feel welcome from start to finish.

I highly recommend The Leela Trivandrum for a relaxing family getaway!

The experience was nothing short of fabulous. Ms. Sushmita at the front desk assisted us with a seamless checkin experience and explained about the facilities of the property along with the benefits of Leela DISCOVERY / GHA DISCOVERY membership. She also assisted in early checkin as we reached the property quite early and with extra time during checkout. She took care of my special request arranging for a small cake as it was my wife's birthday. The presentation of the cake was fabulous when it was delivered to our room.

During our stay we tried the food (in room and dine in) from The Terrace restaurant and that too was fantastic. Interaction with Mr. Raj who assisted us with his excellent serving capabilities at the restaurant, is highly appreciated.
Furthermore the interaction with Sous Chef Mr. Debnath was equally amazing and insightful to the say the least.

Golf carts had lesser than 5 minutes waiting time throughout the property, which adds to the brilliant experience. The overall experience at The Leela Kovalam was fantastic and we'd love to revisit the property during our upcoming travel plans to Kovalam & Thiruvananthapuram.
Kudos to the entire team at the property for showcasing hospitality that sets new standards for the industry to follow. Thank you very much for making our stay so memorable.

We had an excellent stay at the Leela and would recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone considering it for the future. It is one of very few if not the only, cliff side hotel in India overlooking the beach.

Special shoutout to Neethu and Krishnadas at the front desk - for always having a smiling face and ensuring we were always comfortable. Any issues we had were swiftly resolved by the team.

The hospitality was amazing and every need was catered to. Truly a 5* experience. The Leela had exceeded our expectations and we have not had the same level of care at any other hotel we had stayed at before and even afterwards.

Spa services were very clean and massages were excellent. The team were patient with us when coordinating 5 synchronised sessions.

Finally to the chefs; the care taken of thinking about so many dishes and lives stations throughout each and every day was very evident. We even saw the head chef teaching the group of younger chefs how to make specific dishes.

We can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Cons- They need to have a few more dining options. The restaurants at the property are really good for breakfast/lunch/dinner but there are no great options for a quick snack.
The property hosts events on the beachfront which can get pretty loud and limit the dining experience at the beach front restaurant/ nighttime walk on the beach.

The Leela Kovalam is an excellent place to spend your time with family. Very nice location and very excellent ambiance having all five star amenities and infrastructure. The swimming pools are very very relaxing where family can enjoy the water. The private beach is outstanding to chill with seawater and scuba diving. The dinning is also outstanding with fabulous manu. The traditional Kerala dance show in the evening by both dancer was very beautiful. The sky bar gives good vibes during the stay. The restaurant staffs are very very professional. Special thanks to mater chef and his team for preparing nice food.

Finally, special thanks to Miss Akansha for the surprise birthday cake and her professionalism, as we were there for my sons birthday.

A fabulous hotel with exceptional service. The staff are fantastic and go the extra mile to help with any needs. As the hotel is situated on a hill, people have to walk up/down fairly steep walkways or climb up/down lots of steps. The hotel does provide a buggy service to drive people around, but it would be helpful if hand rails were installed along the walkways for guests wishing to walk.

Beautiful location and hotel, room staff was great but knocked on your door every day asking if you need anything. Room service messed up order but quickly fixed them. The service at the restaurant was below average because of the wait times and restaurant was empty. Cannot order different drinks at sky bar only set menu of 4 drinks, and could not get into the 2nd pool or restaurant because it was club access only. Spa was pretty but massages weren’t up to par. Transportation was easy and drivers friendly. Pools close by 8pm, did not allow drinks or food near it, and beach access was restricted for the week we stayed here. All the game rooms closed by 8:30pm also. I enjoyed my stay but do not think I’ll stay here again.

As a solo female traveler, I found that restaurant staff had some issues understanding it and communicating directly. They will always ask is Sir joining? They will not care to ask my preference, etc. when a male cousin of mine joined for meal together they further will only come and just check with him. Even after giving two separate room numbers, they made one bill and put it on my cousins room first and had to ask a few times to make them understand.
Third day another female cousin joined and she was to share room with me and I had not told hotel about any one joining but they did give her my room key and moved her luggage in my room without my consent or checking with me. It was one of the worst Leela experience for me

The Leela Kovalam is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The hotel staff go over and beyond to make your stay and experience a very comfortable one. The dining experience is also fantastic where you get to savour local Kerala delicacies. This place is highly recommended whilst visiting Trivandrum.

Chaotic on arrival. Billing was a mess during checkout. Complimentary water bottles (the only available drinking water in the room) could not be opened the day we arrived. And the phone didn’t work so no calls could go through. And no safe in the room. Overall, disappointing.

The location, the food and service are top class. Would stay there again. So many choices of nutritious, healthy and tasty vegetarian food in every meal. Walk to the beach is a bonus.

The staff are not being themselves when on the job; the customers and the upper management don’t seem to treat the hard working staff well; they are being treated like robots. This issue is not particular to this property but applicable to many other resorts.
