A few comments: 1. The property is elegant and well maintained. But it’s not new, for example, the carpet in the room is old, the bed mattress and the blanket is not new m. But I know they are doing some renovations right now. 2. The service overall is good. But there was one day, I put the house keeping request sign on the door, but did not get the house keeping service until night I came back. For a 5 stars hotel, this is unacceptable. 3. I booked a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony, which is the reason I choose this place. However, it was actually a bathtub without massage function, because the remote is missing. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed this hotel, including, super convenient location, unique view, and good breakfast buffet options.

Great view of the Olympic Port

The hotel itself was very nice and relaxing. It is in walking distance to the Olympic port. The sea view room was AWESOME!
Even thou it was an awesome stay, I still have couple of things to say to people who have young child with them.
Firstly, there were no metro station near the hotel, closest one will be about 1.3Km away. There is a bus stop just round the corner.
Secondly, there is a helipad near the hotel at the port, you will still be able to hear helicopter landing and taking off, my son was so excited to see the helicopter he demands us to stay there again next time. (lol)
Thirdly, There are not much tourist attractions around the hotel, you will either have to take a taxi (what we did) or take public transport, it takes around 30min to get to the city center.
Overall, this was an awesome stay and I will not hesitate to book here again for my next trip to QingDao.

We stay here sometimes and usually book a Club room with lounge access. We don't expect the food in the lounge to be some kind of five star Michelin buffet. But this weekend the quality of the food was way below acceptable. The crackers for the cheese were soggy. The food that should have been hot was cold. When the food ran out, the refills were slow to happen. And the selection was poor compared to previous stays. It was definitely not worth the extra money we spent for lounge access.

Another problem we had was with our baby food. Our baby is still young and has allergies, so we brought her food from home and asked them to heat it up for us when we were dining in the lounge. It was brought back stone cold. Then my husband took it all the way down to the front desk and asked them for help. One of the women took him to one of the hotel restaurants. Then one of the restaurant workers yelled at her in Chinese. They had a very obvious spat in front of him. Then the women finally takes my husband into the kitchens. She leaves him there to wait for the food to get warmed up and disappears without a word, so my husband has to find his own way out of the maze. This whole process took almost half an hour, which cut into our dinner time at the lounge.

One of the managers asked us the next day how our stay was, but we were trying to check out and had a baby to wrangle, so I did not give her the full story. I hope our stay was an anomaly. We may give them one more chance.

visited on January to see the sunrise. Was okay to stay at Seaside, but we stayed to watch sunrise which the room was advertised. However, the room assigned to me was far from seeing the sunrise.
Overall, due to cleanness of the room condition and service, it was okay to stay.

Great location walking distance to the waterfront attractions and mall. Check in was very friendly and gave a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The suite was very spacious with an incredible view of the city. Breakfast buffet offered lots of variety--western, Chinese, Japanese, fresh juices and pastries. The made to order noodles were delicious! Overall great hotel for a great price. Only small con was with detailed cleanliness. For example, mildew stains on the shower shelf and calcium stains in the water tank of the Lavazza coffee machine. Small issues that did not detract much from the nice experience.

The hotel is in need of a face lift in lot of ways, but the service is always friendly. Also their swimming pool is much nicer than the Shangri-La. The only real complaints we had were 1) breakfast in the lounge is definitely not up to five star quality, and 2) the heat in the room is too much. We had it turned down to 16C and finally just switched it off because we couldn't sleep. The hotel is near the water so you do get a nice view from the lounge and take a pleasant stroll along the waterfront if the weather is nice.

Stayed in Intercontinental Qingdao for 3 nights during a business trip and it was awesome. From the food options to room comfort there was nothing negative about this place. Staff is very friendly and helpful, lobby bar is entertaining with tasteful live music and the on premise spa/massage is a great way to relax after a long day of meetings. Highly recommended.

Perfect hotel in Qingdao close to the Marina

This hotel was a step up for us, beautifully decorated and the room was clean, with lots of little extras. Hot showers, lovely bath. The dinning was amazing with plenty of choice for both traditional and western tastes. Laundry service was very good and quick, but expensive. would most definitely recommend this hotel.

Good quality hotel near to marina which was hosting the Round the World yacht race.
Staff were very attentive and helpful, particularly the reception and foyer staff who were especially helpful with the language challenges and local advice and guidance. The room staff were also very polite, efficient and courteous.
The only area I considered a weakness was the service in the main restaurant called Flavours. There were adequate staffing levels, but I felt there needed to be a little more supervision and direction. Accepting the language challenges, some of the staff in the restaurant did not appear to be adequately versed in the running of the restaurant, leaving guests and customers frustrated with the service. Incorrect orders, mis-understandings as to requirements of the patrons and a general lack of purpose of some of the staff who just walked around and appeared not to achieve much.
All staff were very courteous and well presented.

Well I give 4 stars but I have to say that I have been extremely disappointed and definitelz never will come back. This hotel is not worth the brand Intercontinental.

Two reasons
1. The SPA was under renovation. It is even not clear when it will be reopend but the website didn't mention that and the price I paid was hugh.
2. The hotel photos leave the impression as you walk out of the hotel right next to the boats. Well the truth is there is a small backdoor passage along a RR shop but its still just a street next to the haven.

Yes the rest is in good condition and the breakfast was good but that i can get for much less.

Western Standards of Service, Cleanliness, Comfort

The Intercontinental is a wonderfully-western feeling hotel that will be very welcome for travellers missing the comforts of North America. As a Canadian living and travelling in Asia, I've experienced a broad range of standards of service, comfort and cleanliness and can say that the Intercontinental has been, by far, my best experience. Everyone was helpful, friendly and seem to be well-trained. Every little detail is cared for seamlessly. My breakfast was hot and exactly what I had hoped/expected (doesn't always happen in China!)

It's a nice enough hotel.

The InterContinental was nice enough. The reception staff were very friendly and competent. The hotel its self feels huge to the point where it feels like the hotel management struggle to decorate the reception area with a consistent style and image. The rooms are ageing a bit and could use an overhaul in the next couple of years. The breakfast was really good with a very wide variety of food available. Dinner at Wildfire - a restaurant in the hotel - was a little expensive but the excellent quality of the food made it worth the money. The minibar and internet was not complimentary initially but he reception staff did waive the charges for both at checkout which was appreciated. Overall I'm quite happy with my stay at the hotel.

Check-in 13 lovely ladies took me to my room and signed me in. The staff got luggage up and from that point on everybody in the hotel addressed me by name. Anything I need was provided very quickly. The food was great in the hotel. They also arrived train tickets and other things like limos and cabs.

I enjoyed my stay very much. I could walk to shopping area, I felt very safe but when out of the hotel you need to be aware. The bathroom was very clean and coming from me that is a big thing. If you upgrade to the rooms that enjoy happy hour and high tea during the day complimentary and free Wifi. Well forth to upgrade.I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

The staff are very helpful, the architecture and decoration are top class, the location is great (slightly outside the hustle and bustle of true downtown, but within walking distance).
Rooms are great, but try to get in Tower A with a corner room.
Try hiring the bikes, as the hotel is on the costal path that will get you to most of the most interesting parts of Qingdao.

Qingdao's ultramodern waterfront hotel

The Qingdao Intercontinental was absolutely great. Located on the waterfront, the views are spectacular from beautiful rooms and a short walk to the May 1st park along the waterfront and a very high end shopping experience. Great service, ATM in the lobby, good bar, 10 min taxi to old town... I would highly recommend this hotel and definately stay there again. The room rates through expedia were great. I chose it for the newness and waterfront location as opposed to the other 5 star hotels, and am glad I did.

我們一行四人於 2025 年 11 月 20 日下午約二時在貴酒店辦理入住，分別租住了兩間房間。令人遺憾的是，剛進入房間時室內溫度已高達 29 至 30 度，環境十分悶熱。客房部的服務員態度非常友善，並建議我們關掉暖氣，表示溫度會逐漸下降。然而，事實並未如預期，兩間房間在連續多晚的夜間溫度始終維持在約 26 度，白天更升至 29 至 30 度，房間長期處於高溫狀態，導致我們完全無法得到良好的休息，嚴重影響住宿體驗。

酒店經理其後安排了一日免費早餐作為補償，但由於我們另有行程，未能享用。此外，酒店亦減免了每間房半晚的房價。雖然我們感謝酒店的善意安排，但這些補償措施仍不足以彌補我們在住宿期間所承受的長時間不適與夜間煎熬。高溫環境不僅影響睡眠質素，更令整體旅程蒙上陰影。

我們期望酒店能正視此問題，檢視房間空調及溫度控制系統，以確保日後住客能享有舒適的住宿環境。

Tive problema com ar-condicionado. Não funcionava e estava muito calor. Enviaram ventiladores, mas não resolveu. Estava cansado do trabalho e dormi muito mal. Apenas resolveu no dia seguinte quando me trocaram de quarto. Fiquei com uma má impressão, mas pelo menos resolveram.

First the positive:
Location is actually quite nice. If you are in the Tower A you can enjoy Seaview and view over the former Olympic sailing center. Also the night view and light show of the skyline of Qingdao is quite nice.( who likes it)
The service overall is quite good and the Executive lounge very enjoyable.
Restaurants and Shopping Mall nearby. Subway station about a 15 min walk away.
But:
The whole room furniture need's to be scrapped and replaced,.as well the carpet and bathroom interior. Better the whole hotel must be refurbished fro the core.
Also the cleanliness was awful. After arrival I found on the desk a sticky substance which was very disgusting.Everywhere stains on carpet and sofa. Strong smell in the bathroom.
Overall not worth for the money. Only for the view and service....Never again.

浴室の床が少し汚れていた、空調もコントロールがうまく出来なかった。
トイレもできればウオシュレットに成っていればよかったな～
日本語のできるフロントの人がもう少しいればいいですね。

오전 외출 후 들어왔더니 청소를 안해놨더라구요 ㅜ 참........ 다시 요청후 ... 치운다더니 쓰레기통만 비우고 수건이랑 세면도구만 간신히 재셋팅 되었네요..
너무하다 생각이 드는건 체크인 하는날 외출시간까지 말하고 청소 부탁 해놓았는데도 말이죠.. 아무리 5성급이라지만 여긴 다시는 이용 안할거 같습니다
