It’s was good stay in general, the service people are friendly, sometimes the robot is too busy delivering, they will deliver the orders themselves. However, when you left the hotel, no one came to help with the luggage, though many people working at the concierge desk downstairs.

It was not too close to May 4th square. We had to walk 20-30 minutes. The pillows were kind of flat and the bed was very uncomfortable. The front desk people were super nice. The problem was the swimming pool. I was asked to wear a cap to use the pool. Since I do my bring a cap I had to pay 100 yuan to buy two cheap caps for me and my daughter. When we were in the pool we could not swim freely sine there was a swimming lesson. There were five students literally taking up the pool. We had to sneak through their practice to swim. The water was filthy. If there was a lesson they should have posted a schedule so hotel guests would avoid the lesson.

Nice hotel!!

The hotel is close to the subway station, the room is large, and the staff is friendly. Everything was good, but in the non-smoking hotel, other guests smoked in the rooms and hallways, which was very inconvenient. The hotel fully sympathized and considered. So we stayed well for the rest of the year and came back. Thank you for all staffs !!

Affordable stay but minor issue with room temperat

Affordable stay at a 4-star hotel.

But our rooms were too hot. When we pointed out that the room temperature felt like 28 degrees when we set it at 23 degrees, the response of the reception was \"it is winter. heating is turned on during the winter. try turning off the heater or open the window.\" Sorry but heaters are supposed to automatically turn off once the room temperature exceeds the set temperature. And even when we turned off heating and opened the window, the room temperature still did not drop.

Very friendly English speaking. Also note that in the Wotif notes, it states that the front reception is unstaffed, this isnt true. The reception is staffed as per a normal high end hotel. Walking distance to most features and the concierge will help by writing any tourist destination in Chinese so the local taxi drivers can deliver you to your destination easily

OK, if you are a foreigner staying in China, this is an amazing hotel to stay at. The staff speaks excellent English and was so helpful in navigating the city, how to get places, and helping us use Chinese apps for discounts, basically anything you need. Very friendly. Great stay, everything as you would wish to have it at a hotel.

Swimming Pool Warning

Bad choice. Hotel staff refused to let my family and I use the pool because we didn't have swimming hats, then tried to sell some to us for 40 dollars a pop. Sure, I get the policy, trying to keep dirty hairs out of the pool, but a heads up would have been nice, an star beside the \"indoor pool\" service explaining the conditions. Put a sour on our trip. Shame on Holiday Inn and Hotels.com

Awesome experience staying here. Great location close to shopping malls, Carrefour, restaurants and bars. 10min walk to the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were made to wait an hour before we could check into our room. There was no air condition despite winter was over. It was warm in the room.
There concierge Tim was the worse concierge we have came across. When we asked him to help us book a certain seafood restaurant, he told us there’s a long queue, that we would have to queue for one hour. Then he arranged for another restaurant where they will send their driver to pick us. Of course we did not go to the restaurant he recommended. On our last night, we went to the concierge counter to help arrange for transport to take us to the airport the next day. He called the transport contact and told us he can’t tell us the price for the transport. That he will call us tomorrow. We are wondering why if it is the hotel transport, shouldn’t there be a standard price? I suggest you look into this guy’s work attitude. Seem like he’s trying to earn extra money.

Not impressed that I booked and paid for the Executive Suite and it was closed. There was no notification of this over the CNY period. The make up for this closure was below acceptable for the payment. The food was essentially the same each night, with little variation.

This hotel was great. if you have a special request for a meal just ask. I think westerners just think we get only whats on the menu. I learned you can ask and if they can prepare the will. This is a seafood city. Great food. Very impressed with the service both in the restaurant on the 1st floor and behind the counter. next time I come back I will stay here again.

The location of the hotel is great. Just to remind non Chinese speaking visitors, always have the hotel's phone number to give to the taxi driver to call to make sure of the right hotel. No taxi driver speaks English. Even fluent in Mandarine, I sometimes need the phone #. Hotel is clean and close to the waterfront area. This Holiday Inn is extremely good value for money, the location is great, as is the service and the rooms.

The gym is ok, it has free weights and is clean and modern, but there aren't many machines.

The swimming pool unfortunately has the ridiculous rule of wearing a swimming cap to enter the pool. I expect this in cheap living accommodations but not in the 4 or 5 star hotel where they can clean the filters of any hair. Very disappointing.

Pros: While the room looks pretty standard in terms of furnishing, the bed and pillows were outstanding. It really was great having the option of hard or soft pillows. Breakfast buffet had a decent spread and the staff were very polite and accommodating. Front desk and concierge were helpful when it came to directions and getting taxis. Rooms were cleaned promptly. On moon festival day, we noticed mooncakes had been left in the room, which was a very nice touch.The location of the hotel is great and we were able to walk to May 4th square and nearby areas. There is a Carrefour right next to the hotel.

Cons: At the breakfast buffet we noticed tiny flies all over the uncovered pastry and fruit section. We (along with many other guests) ended up avoiding this entire section and sticking to the hot and made to order food. This would be unacceptable in any Holiday Inn in the USA and management should look into addressing this problem.

Good value western style hotel with a reasonable size clean room. Staff generally very helpful and friendly. Very close to the marina area though I was expected a swimming beach. I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. A good location with many good restaurants within walking distance and next to Carrefour. But it seems to be quite far from the hotel and Laoshan. I took a cab to Laoshan which is about an hour away. On the way back, my Laoshan tourist guide dropped us off at the Laoshan beach and told us to take a direct bus back to the hotel. Bus 104 is very convenient as it stop next to the hotel.

Very good hotel, good location. However very expensive rooms and restaurants for a Holiday Inn. No cafe or coffee shop in hotel. Breakfast buffet excellent. No view of ocean. Staff efficient. Good free wifi in rooms that are not heavily firewalled. Rooms are small but efficient and quite clean. But still for that price I would pick InterContinental, Shangri-La, Hyatt Regency or Westin.

Clean & comfortable hotel in the centre of Qingdao

This hotel is in a very central location in Qingdao, close to shops, restaurants, transport and a 20 minute walk from the Olympic Sailing Centre. Excellent breakfast with Asian & Western cuisine including hot & cold food. Tried to use the Chinese restaurant on the 1st floor (not run by the hotel) but language barrier prevented this, could not even get a table. Room service very good I had salad & partner had spaghetti Bolognese reasonable portions and prompt delivery also reasonably priced approx. £10-£11 GBP for the 2 meals. Reception staff very helpful especially concierge who happily lent me a phone charger for the duration of my stay. Also great help when requesting a taxi as drivers do not speak English. Booked a head massage via the hotel, not what I have had before, had very tender head the next day. This is an outside service just booked through the hotel and was not the relaxing experience I was expecting as I assumed I would be in a treatment room with mood music playing, not the case, the masseuse visits your room. Overall the Holiday Inn Qingdao City Centre is a hotel I would re-book if I were to visit Qingdao in the future.

I reached hotel early @ 9.30am due to early flight. And the recep staff alrdy allow checkin, since there's rooms available. This is very welcoming! 2 thumbs up! Pool is wonderful too, with temp at comfortable 28 deg even in winter.

Downside was there's no aircon in room, even though window can b opened. So my room felt warm whole day. Otherwise, its a really nice place to stay.

This was a great choice for Qingdao. The price was right and the room was wonderful. The beds were western style and very comfortable. The rooms were clean (no tub, shower only) the staff was very customer oriented and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and do recommend it. The location was convenient as well.

My only complaint about the hotel is that we had a room without working Air Conditioner. The front desk staff was very helpful in trying to resolve the issue. They brought us a machine with ice in it that blew cool air into the room (until the ice melted). The next night they brought us a fan. And finally, on the third day they moved us to a new room. How nice it would have been to start out in a room with working A/C. Definitely invest in the upgrade to a Deluxe room, unless you are a single traveler and not planning to be in the room much. There are 5 star hotels for just $40 per night, so that is something to consider...

I spent 6 days in Qingdao and stayed in the same hotel - Holiday Inn Qingdao City Centre. Just like its name, the hotel is located in the city centre of Qingdao, just 2 minutes' walk to a bus stop. You know taking bus in Qingdao is of great importance in travelling around. For the room, it is clean with good maintenance. The price it charges is reasonable as well. Couldn't ask for more. Strongly recommend this hotel to you.

Holiday Inn Qingdao City Centre is positioned just off the main administrative and financial road, Hong Kong Middle Road. It is about 10 minutes away from the coastal region which previously hosted the Olympic Sailing competition (you can take long coastal walk) and five minutes away from the \"Street of Seafood Restaurants\".
The twin bedroom had comfortable Queen size beds and big attached bathroom and toilet. The service staff were helpful and courteous.This hotel gives good value for money.

We had a good time staying at this hotel, except that there was no aircon in the room. Hotel provided us with a fan after we commented that the room was rather warm and stuffy, but still the room was poorly ventilated. We upgraded to executive club room upon checking in and we must say that the services provided by the executive club lounge was just perfect. Staffs at the executive club lounge were polite and attentive. Overall we find the staffs at this hotel to be friendly, helpful and remarkably good.

My husband and I stayed in a Delux room, where the hardware of the room is good, especially the bathroom is very nice. However, the staffs do not speak English, the hotel has a very Chinese management style, unless you speak Chinese, suggest you not to choose this hotel.

Good Location

Holiday Inn, City Center was a nice surprices, as I normally stay at Crown Plaza or Shangti La. Holiday Inn gives deff. value for money ! However, be aware there is one Holiday Inn newar Airport, which is far out of City !

Only drawback is rooms too warm !! No air con in winter time, and the sun heat up the room all day !!

Best location-easy access to sight-seeing & food

The hotel is new but the maintenance and cleaning are a bit below expectation. Front desk staff are friendly. Great location, Carrefour, KFC, Breadtalk, food street and other shopping malls are within walking distance. Wuxi is nearby too. Can take the public buses to most of the sight-seeings. If the cleanliness and maintenance improve, I would like to stay in this hotel again.
