This was my second visit, following last year.
I was very satisfied with my previous stay, so this time I decided to stay longer.

The hotel still offers great value for the price.
All the staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean and well maintained.

However, I noticed that the quality of the fruit at breakfast was slightly lower compared to last year.
I also remember the club happy hour menu being more varied and generous during my previous stay.

The large shopping mall next door is still very convenient for dining and entertainment.

Expectations mismatch

I recently stayed at Le Méridien Qingdao, expecting the refined experience showcased on Hotels.com and associated with the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, the reality fell short in several areas.

Firstly, communication was unexpectedly difficult — none of the front desk staff spoke English, and all interactions had to be conducted via translation apps. This made even basic requests time-consuming and frustrating, especially at a supposedly international hotel.

Secondly, I had specifically booked a smoking room, only to be told on arrival that the hotel is entirely non-smoking. I was informed that the website is outdated — but surely this is something that should be addressed by now, especially on major booking platforms.

The bathroom area, particularly the wooden features and floor tiles, felt worn and in need of renovation. It detracted from what was otherwise a well-appointed, spacious room with a lovely view from a high floor. I appreciated the generous amenities and thoughtful touches throughout the room.

One final inconvenience: the glass-topped desk rendered my mouse unusable, which made working from the room uncomfortable — a surprising oversight in a business hotel.

In short, while the room had its positives, the lack of English-speaking staff, misleading booking information, and some maintenance issues made this stay less than satisfying. With a few improvements, this property could live up to the Le Méridien name.

호텔은 깨끗하고, 시설을 이용하기 매우 편리하였습니다.
클럽룸 이용 시 목마를 때나 간단한 요기가 필요할 때 이용하기 좋았고, 로비에 에스프레소 머신이 있어서 택시 기다릴 때 한잔씩 하기 좋았습니다.
고객 편의성이 매우 좋습니다.

Overall, I like this hotel. This is the second time I've stayed here. But the only problem is their heating system. It's always on. It was hot in my room. You can't turn it down or turn the AC on.

A great place near the ocean

An amazing hotel next to a shopping mall where you find everything, the downside is the construction which creates chaotic traffic at the entrance. Other than that, it was a great stay for me.

The first room we had, the hair dryer was not working and the roof was leaking. The staff was quick to respond and change our room. The second room the battery in the weight person was too low so we couldn't weight our luggage. The quality of an hotel is affected by those small details.

Fantastic. A true five star hotel. I just find it odd that the hotel itself doesn't have a website dedicated to it. The view though was amazing and the the room was luxurious. And of course, having a mall connected to it is as convenient and fun as it sounds.

English not well spoken but still very friendly

Very nice centrally located hotel. Public areas as well as the room nicely appointed, all amenities that you would expect from an international 5 star hotel. The only problem is the low level of English proficiency which makes it difficult to order a meal let alone accomplish more complicated tasks. I’m sure they are working hard on improving this.

5 days in Qingdal

I had a deluxe double room on prefered guests 19th floor. The room was clean, their provided all the toiletries. There is a club lounge that I had to use to print out some documents. The hotel is just next to a big shopping mall which is very convenient. Overall experience was good

Great hotel

Great location hotel for what I needed, right next to the mall as well. The lobby was stunning but a shame the rooms were looking a little worn with a cracked basin and tiles etc, but that didn't really affect my stay. Would have preferred to not have to pay a deposit for the room upon check-in as I had no intention of using the minibar or anything else, it would be a much better system to charge at check-out. Particularly annoying as the deposit was extortionate compared to the room rate..!

confusing arrangement

there is no room available for us even we prepaid the rooms so they asked us to move in a bigger room that have 2 bedroom, instead of 2 separate rooms. we accepted as we are very tired but we are not feeling comfortable about this. after a few hours, they said the rooms are available now and ask us to move again. they even asked us to pay for the room rent for the bigger room... ridiculous and confusing arrangements!!

Stylish class and comfort

Le Meridien is impressive from the moment you walk in the door. It is classy and chic, but not pompous chic. The service was extremely helpful and friendly. And the bed was extremely comfortable.
It was a great deal, especially for the price I paid.
The only drawback is that it is in a new development area so take a Hotel map with you in case you need to take a Taxi back because most drivers are still not familiar with the Hotel.

Spectacular hotel in the middle of the city....

This was my first business trip to China. I had been in Shanghai earlier in the week and then went to Qingdao. The hotel is adjacent to a pretty westernizes shopping mall (even has a Starbucks) so it was very easy to adapt. The rooms are VERY modern and have every possible convenience that you could wish for. Make sure that you get a reservation which includes the hotel breakfast. It is in a lavish dining area which has an \"American\" and Chinese buffet to suit all tastes. It is quite expensive to buy ala carte (~$25.00) but is much cheaper if included in the reservation. The buffet is well worth the cost however.

The staff at the hotel speaks pretty fluent English and will provide anything that you need on a moments notice. I had a small issue with the A/C in my room and (2) building engineers showed up within (5) minutes and had it fixed.

Overall, TOP NOTCH hotel and worth every penny (or RMB)!

luxury new hotel for business travel

This is a brand new, well equipped luxury hotel for business travelers. Located right next to a high class shopping mall with many restaurants, this 5 star hotel is opened for business several months ago. Although it is very easy and cheap to find taxis, but I personally like to stay around the city south where everything is within walking distance.

I love that Hotel

The Le Meridien Qingdao is a very fine hotel with Artistic luxery design. The service is very good, wonderful gym and pool. The hotel is located right next to a new shopping mall, with many choices of restaurants and even a huge supermarket, Justco. The hotel is a bit away from the happening area, which are mainly along the beach front, however, the taxi is really inexpensive here and there are plenty of them waiting outside the hotel.

A visit to the famous Tsingtao beer factory and walk along the beer street is a pleasant experience. Qingdao is also famous for its seafood. Take a taxi to the 'seafood restaurant street' (i think is Min Jiang road), you can find plenty of nice seafood restaurants there, where you can pick live fish/crabs etc. from the tanks.

優點是入住時前台是忙碌的 , 但不遠處的人員看到後有立刻過來接洽辦理入住 , 周遭環境還不錯 , 飲食方便

缺點的話是枕頭太軟 , 電視喇叭聲音開到最大仍然音量很小 , 再來是早餐時段菜餚空盤的比例相當高~服務人員也忙不過來

很捧的住宿經驗，櫃台服務人員非常親切，快速。客房清潔度打十分，擺設高雅，遇到的服務人員均笑臉迎人，有問題問？亦是十分熱情仔細說明，甚至寫條子給你備忘，幫忙叫車，並且交帶司機。萬達廣場就在隔壁。各式各樣點心，美食林立，對面旁邊都是飯店，不怕沒東西吃。縂的是很棒的飯店，值得住。

주요 관광지에서 버스로 3~4정류장(택시 이용시 12위엔 정도)정도 약간 벗어난 市北區지역에 위치하여 관광지 이용시 큰 불편은 없음.
객실 면적이 넓고 여유롭고 3층에 위치한 실내 수영장과 사우나 시설은 하루의 피로를 풀어 줍니다.
(사우나 이용시간 06:00~23:00)
침대 및 베개도 폭신하여 수면을 취하기에 편안함을 제공함.
가족 여행시 바로 옆 완다광장(쇼핑몰) 이용하여 편리한 쇼핑 가능.
