There were unexpected charges related to the age of my children. I booked for two adults and two children but had to pay £230 extra for my oldest child upon arrival. Hotel subsequently realised that the charge was not entirely correct but only partially compensated me.

The breakfast was excellent and the service at the breakfast was wonderful. However service at the restaurant during the dinners was less good.

Hotel prices for the wine are not reasonable. More than £40 for a bottle of local wine (which is the cheapest option) is not market standard.

Beach is wonderful and location and distance to the beach is perfect. Swimming pool and garden are outstanding.

There were a lot of mosquitoes inside of our room and hotel, much less of them if dining in one of local huts on the beach.

Property is located at prime location. However the rooms do not have any view and in my opinion the amount they charged is way too high for this kind of room. Very dissatisfied with the room. After staying for two nights I vacated and moved to a better hotel.

Lovely resort. Great service.
Airport pickup. Reception. My room overlooking the pool and garden.
Restaurant. Pool bar.
The staff, all of whom give it all they've got.
Friendly atmosphere.
Lovely grounds, well maintained and huge. And then on to the beach. Perfect.

Wonderful service from Ruella, Goma, Aliya, Hemant, Mintu and Bhupal who kept me well fed. Introducing me to Dosa for breakfast which i grew to love, and ensuring i always had everything i needed.

The pool is brilliant. Its massive. Its well maintained. The pool guys / lifeguards fo a superb job.

Come to Kenilworth. You will have fun.

I loved it here. Efficient friendly staff in all areas... the pool guys, the room service, Lovelita and Richa welcoming faces in Reception.

I extended my trip twice and have nice memories.

Goma, Suninjat, Ruella, Bhupal served me constantly in the restaurant.

Thankyou Hemant for introducing me to Dosa and Sambar for breakfast.

Alija for picking me up on her scooter on her way into work. Is a nice memory for me.

Tanmay, Flavian, Joshua, Rohan and Sam for loading me with cocktails and vodkas.

All the staff are brilliant. Friendly and very helpful.

Thankyou to Alija for giving me a lift back to the hotel on her scooter. That was very memorable.

All the boys in the lobby and pool bars.

Mintu, Suninjat, Goma, Ruella and Bhopal who served me lovely grub twice a day every day.

We booked the property for a family of four adults without any expectations. Our four day trip was memorable. Enjoyed all the facilities provided by the property. I will suggest they should implement a guest login access through web which can provide all the details of your booking plus extra spending done each day at the property. It will give clear financial visibility before checkout. We may need a longer holiday to see GOA.

We had terrible experience at the checkin. We got 3rd room after 3:30pm. It wasn't ready at 3.

And when we asked for VIP access they didn't have any information and didn't offer any help or VIP access. They were simply uninterested in offering any VIP access or even providing something in replacement to room upgrade

Lovely place, great service, only not so good thing I have to say is it was quite expensive to eat and drink there and the taxi service they use is a rip-off.
In example I got a taxi from the hotel to Gopa airport in North Goa about 1 hour and 15 minutes, I paid 3000 INR in a local taxi, but the hotel taxi was 6000 INR.
Nevertheless a lovely hotel with impeccable service.

Great resort if you want to enjoy an exclusive time with your friends/ family. Large rooms that can easily accommodate a family of 2 adults, 1 teen and 1 child. Nice large swimming pools separate for adults and kids. Access to clean and beautiful beach to enjoy morning swims and late evening sunsets. Very courteous and helpful staff. In house bfast lunch and dinners are limited but taste great

Hotel was good but definitely not a 5 star. Location was great the beach and pool area are lovely. The only downside is the poolside food wasn’t great and staff were very slow at serving food and some drinks they have to get from the main hotel so you have to wait just to get a fruit juice. Otherwise we were happy with the breakfast. A good range of food. We were there for new years and they had a fabulous party set up on the grounds with so many food options, a live band, dance floor etc. Other than this the Orel is quite and had very little entertainment in the evenings

We had a great stay at this lovely property. Considering a five star, it’s a decent property with a nice location. I would stay the property itself is great but the rooms are not luxury enough. We were out most of the day enjoying the amenities and the beach so it didn’t hurt us but if I wanted to stay in the room, it’s not five star.

The overall property customer service is very poor and not worthy of a VIP access hotel. Offered a very bad quality room (smelly, dusty, etc.). Eventually changed room after 1 day because they just didn't have rooms available. Was not offered a late checkout, and then offered one at a very high price (almost USD 75) for an extra hour or so. This hotel should be removed from VIP access list. Thanks.

App does not provides misleading information. This app charges lot more than what the actual rooms goes for in Hotel. Booked room with garden room and got view with wall , after negotiations with Hotel manager we managed to change our room to actual garden view. Bathrooms were stinky and very old.

Don't stay here!

We had planned a family re-union after several years, and 17 of us came together in Goa (from different parts of India and the US), booking 7 rooms at this hotel, paying a total bill of about 4 lakhs, for a stay of 4 nights (2nd Jan 2022 to 6th Jan 2022). What followed, unfortunately, was unfortunate, unprofessional, and not at all expected from a reputed 5 star property.

Amongst us, there were 5 senior citizens (well above 70 years of age each) and a 6th who had just got away from the ICU and was looking forward to a holiday with family, peace and quiet.

Without any warning whatsoever, the hotel started renovation work. This was in the form of LOUD and CONTINUOUS drilling and banging right on top of our heads. Calls to the reception were met with empty promises like ... we will stop the work immediately, etc etc... none of which happened. This was at 3.30 pm, in the middle of the hot afternoon. We couldn't go out due to the heat, and staying in was nothing less than torture.

Long story short – despite escalations to Duty Manager, project Manager, etc - nothing changed for 3 days, and finally I changed my flight (at considerable personal expense), and checked out a day early. Never again will we make the mistake of going to Kenilworth, and I have told everyone I know the same thing. There are plenty of great properties out there that treat customers with the honesty that they deserve!

Check in was not so smooth... The girl at the reception was trying to delay the check in saying rooms are not cleant , while rooms were available ... and palm off a Christmas Brunch on us which we did not want , but under pressure they had to abort the same . Room cleanliness & upkeep needs to be improved , some days enough towels also were not kept in the rooms , work is going on in many rooms and the hotel needs a very prompt update to be called a Five star Resort... Breakfast facilities are limited and you could see guests standing out side for a long time to get the breakfast tables and even eating it like a buffet stating inside the hall , but on our request the F&B managers took the matter very seriously and the next day we could see a marked improvement in the same. Feels many of the staff are in experienced and new , may be because of the extended closure during Corona times... Even at the pools enough towels are not available and many of us had to wait a long time to get the towels... Staff at many locations were a lot casual in their approach , may be they need more training and guidance. They can do a lot better if they want to keep up their status of a 5 star....

It was a great stay. However, hotel is old now and that shows. But, they have now started renovating it part by part. Swimming pool of the hotel is among the best and is very large. Breakfast served was vey good. Italian restaurant was not fully operational but served us great Italian Pizza and pasta. The chef was especially very enthusiastic. Indian restaurant has limited menu and that disappointed us to some extent.

The entrance to the property is gorgeous. Staff is kind and courteous. Quick check in. Over all the property is old and run down. Rooms and bathroom is quite small. Balcony is tiny too! Beds are comfortable. The hotel could use an uplift for sure.

Bottomline: DEFINITELY NOT WORTHY OF 5 STAR RATING
Either stay at a better known 5 star resort if this is a special vacation - we should have done that.
Otherwise save your money and book any average 3 star hotel because thats what this is comparable to.

Cons:
Poor rooms, uncomfortable mattress / pillows. I know other 5 star resorts in the area that offer a menu for different kinds of pillows.
Room locks kept malfunctioning - had to get keys reprogrammed multiple times.
Pool was completely unattended everytime we went - we had to clean our own poolside chairs and get our own towels on each visit.
Restaurant staff never heard of decaf coffee - we asked multiple people.
Room service staff kept knocking on multiple occassions when \"Do not Disturb\" sign was on - only to check the minibar. This was in the middle of our visit, not the day of checkout.

Pros:
Breakfast buffet was good.
Staff was friendly but were clearly completely untrained.

We visited Kenilworth Beach Resort at the end of our tour of India and it was a much needed break from the 24/7 madness that is India. Its very close to the airport which is also a bonus.

We love Kenilworth!

We love Kenilworth! This is a fantastic resort and our favorite hotel out of many we visited in Goa. It has a beautiful relaxing pool (although the pool closes too early), a great restaurant, we even had live music entertainment while we ate dinner! It was fantastic.

The hotel is on a very clean beach but the hotel 'campus' is not clean. There is bird poop all over the hotel outdoors near pool area. The pool isn't that big. Even inside the hotel, there is filth like matchsticks in hotel lobby. It's not worth the price. For just a little more, you can great experience at next door Hyatt.

Fix the Property

Hotel is in need of repairs. The rooms are good, but it seems like they are trying to fix the property which is old. Pavements on the grounds are uneven and unfinished. The lawns are partial. The swimming pool floor has broken tiles. The windows on the balconies has cement work done but not painted. The pictures of the property look 10 times better than the actual property. Also, they are not very good at insect control. Had mosquitoes in the hallway and room. The staff is nice and friendly, they kind of made up for these issues. The breakfast is good, Indian items are expectedly well made but the western items such as waffles, pancakes etc. are terrible. The hotel is also in the south side of Goa and therefore not much happening outside the hotel. It would take a cab ride to go to Panjim to find some excitement, good food. The funny thing is that the issues this hotel has are easily fixable, and that too quickly, but the management is probably not investing. One final tip: if you do stay at the hotel, make sure that you get a balcony view facing the lawns inside of the property. All other views are terrible.

Extremely unhappy with the stay, It was a mistake to select this resort. Please do not visit this resort. I had been to other resorts in GOA which are far under rated and provide better service than Kenilworth.

I have wasted my money!

a. Requested to change the room and was offered a stinking room with bad/unclean bead sheet and leakage on wall.

b. Took 3 hours to get new room and that took we need to ask multiple times for the same. Reached hotel at 3.30 and allocated room was given at 6.30

c. Need to check room and then request them for individual stuff like napkins, towels, Soap, etc.

d. Charges for pool table was taken, I have seen first resort which charges for amenities used.

e. Asked help desk for information on nearby disco and pubs, they promised to revert back in 15 minutes but never call or gave information.

f. Help Desk informed that water sports are not started but it was started in nearby beaches

No one was bothered to ask feedback while leaving, but the staff was greedily look for tips... Hope to hear from the management, if they are concerned.

We stayed at Kenilworth from 22nd-26th April and had a great time. The pool and grounds were huge and due to it being quiet season the hotel was not too busy. The beach is easily accessible but was very empty at the time. The staff were great and we received fantastic service from all, especially Veena, Kaity and Adil.

Excellant hotel, quiet, beautifull surroundings

We stayed 22nd March to 26th March 15; we were celebrating our 30th Anniversary. We had a warm welcome from the entrance to the check in. Seema the receptionist made us feel comfortable and relaxed. We were escorted to our room by another friendly receptionist who showed our room. We found we had 2 twin beds put together, I requested for a double bed; this was rectified immediately on our return after a few hours. Our room view looked like a place where they may hold private functions such as a wedding. I think we came at a quiet time as far as guests are concerned; however the place is beautiful, clean, well kept gardens and pool. There are security checks to access the beach at the end of the resort, they were clean, very quiet so we had whole beach to ourselves. The pool was quiet; at times we were the only people using it, enjoyed the pool on many days. The spa was superb, relaxing and would love to do every day. We had a wonderful surprise on our anniversary day, the bed was decorated with swans made from folded towels and rose petals on the bed, the bath was filled with bubbles, petals and a chocolate cake, excellent gesture, Thanks. The Hotel staff throughout were very pleasant and showed all the courtesy. The restaurants food selection was good, accomplished musicians playing different tune, even requests around the tables. I would definetly recommend this place. It was very hot at the time of year, so coming in Nov-Feb. might be the best option.

Decent hotel for the price!

Facilities were a bit run down and overall maintainence could be better, big chips out of the sandstone around the pool and the granite on the stairs etc.

The rooms were decent size and clean but one thing regarding the bedding made our stay uncomfortable. The queen bed which we had was fitted with two twin blankets overlapping giving the outward appearance of being a large single unit until you got into bed and realised that you were trying to cover yourself with two different pieces, it was awkward and uncomfortable.

The hotel hosted two large conferences consisting of only men while we were there and if we had known that we definitely would have stayed elsewhere for our vacation. On the first day we were there it was almost impossible for our young children to use the children's pool as there was a volleyball net set up there and at one point almost 20 men were in the small area taking up the space. They also had loud gatherings at night in the gardens with music that could be heard in the rooms.

The breakfast which was included was fairly standard in variety (a bit of western with a little more selection for Indian) but what they had was definitely good.

The staff was excellent and I appreciated the fact that they had security by the pool and that the pool boys were actually 'watching' the guests in the pool for safety and not just there to hand out towels and move sun beds.

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. On one hand the grounds are beautiful and the pool area lovely. The common areas are well-maintained and inviting, although the sun-lounger cushion pads were dirty due to not being stored at night. Food was good, although portion sizes were smaller than expected and breakfast was more Indian than western.

There were two major disappointments for me though: the room and the incessant music. The room was dated, tired and surprisingly dirty. Things had broken and not been repaired properly. What spoiled my stay was that the bar by the pool played booming dance music for much of the day, leading to a less than relaxing atmosphere. In the evening the hotel organised live music to play outside until 11pm - meaning an early night was impossible.

In their defense, I raised my issues at check-out and they were apologetic and said that they'd review things. Perhaps I'm being a touch harsh, but we went for a quiet and relaxing break and it just wasn't.

Excellent Place and very hospitable staff

We stayed at Kenilworth from 20th Feb to 23rd Feb 2015 to celebrate my husband's Birthday and my parent's 50th Anniversary. Since I had booked the place not too much in advance I wasnt sure if my choice was going to be good. But I must say the place is beautiful, the pool is excellent- kids loved it , the beach is great a lot of sea shells to collect:-). The people at beach are not taking you for a ride for charges on fun activites. The Hotel staff is very fair. And I must say when I expressed to them I am here to celebrate my parent's special day, they made sure they arranged a special dinner table with cake... The live band played for them..Over all we came extrememly satisfied... and we have decided to go back to this place whenever we go back to Goa. This ws my fourth trip to Goa and I am attached to this place:-)

Hotel is OK. Problem with check-in, dead Internet, beach is outside the hotel with 3000 dogs running around.
No soap, never use laundry services if your cloths not cheap (less than 0.75 Cents).

Great improvement potential though small changes

Vacation is about relaxing and nor having to think too much and definitly not to manage the tasks that is the hotel staff's responsibility. I can grant that one of the bills at the restaurants would be off but having to check it everytime and almost always finding errors is just making a stay cumbersome. The same principle applies to cleaning etc. Furthermore, travelling with kids then also requires the hotel to recognize a need for things such as towels for them as well.

Nice hotel with a good, easily accessible beach.

Stayed at this property on the 15th and 16th. The hotel has a nice pool and easy access to a quiet beach. We did have a great time.
