The 2nd floor was going through renovation so it was really noisy with drilling n banging
Kitchen was average but Arun was a breath of fresh air
He conversed in English n very helpful
Food ordered room service was tasty
Breakfast menu was repetitive and mainly Indian cuisine
Considering the noise the rooms should have been cheaper
Overall I would rate this hotel on the low scale but once it is renovated it will be a better place to stay

If it wasn't for the customer services eg. reception lead by Deepak who was super efficient & the restaurant lead by Arun, we'd not have chosen the Oriental for our stay given its physical rundown condition. Arun & his team went above & beyond to accommodate our special dietary requirements while we were receiving extensive dental treatment. We're very grateful to him & his team.

Room was very inappropriate and totally opposite which is seen in pictures. So, overall don't go for this hotel at all. There are many nearby hotels which much appropriate than this one. I would raise the complaint for complete refund of my amount which i feel is wasted for this hotel.

This is my third or fourth stay at Oriental Residency. The rooms are good. Comfortable. Breakfast is good. And staff is very friendly. Deepak and Supriya are great. Hotel needs a little upkeep. Center location.

The Oriental Residency is a good hotel to consider when visiting Mumbai. The rooms are comfortable with aircon, wifi, and flat screen TV. The meals from The Soul Restaurant were delicious and the staff are courteous . Location was good for me as I was in Mumbai for dental surgery and it's 5 minutes walking distance to Dentzz Dental. For anyone on a budget, the Oriental Residency is a great hotel to consider.

The property needs solid facelift. Most of the fixtures are loose or falling. Curtains were off the hooks.
Bathroom has less light for shaving. Toilet pot was very dirty.
Breakfast was so so with very limited spread.
Over all it was not worth the price we paid.

I booked this hotel because I had a really good experience from my previous stay. Now this hotel staffer whoever was on duty on 3rd March night gave us the worst ever travel experience. In the middle of the night he simply said we dont have your reservation or booking and I cant help you. This happened when I had booked the hotel 2 months in advance. I never had seen the a Hotel did not get a booking after 2 months. I was carrying a 6 month old child and she was crying as we could get rest after traveling from us and he simply did not allow us on the hotel premises and was discourteous as well and when another hotel staffer or porter tried to help he asked him not to. We even asked if he could give us a room with extra payment and he even denied that and he was more concerned of entry door opening and closing as we were trying to calm our child and trying to book another hotel.$140 dollar wasted. My child cried for 3-4 hours as all the hotels 3 or 4 star were all full when we tried to book another hotel. When I asked for a refund through Expedia the management also did not pick the Customer service reps call and did not refund our booking. Please avoid this Hotel at all cost.

Room provided for triple occupancy was too small, with very little leg space and no space (as in chair/sofa etc) to sit.

The photos are out of date! The room was filthy! THere were dead insects on the window seals. The toilet was badly stained. There was dirt and scale around the shower door. the walls of the shower were dirty. There was a smell in the room. The bin in the bathroom was rusty and dirty. We cleaned all the surfaces with Lyzol wipes, and the wipes were black with dirt and dust. Would NEVER stay here again! The management was also not firendly. We had booked a Luxury room and were shown 5 rooms which were all substandard. We settled for a premium room which was the best of the worst. The manager refused to refund the difference. A couple of the front desk staff would ignore us because we complained. The breakfast and staff in the morning at breakfast led by Arun Shetty were fantastic though!

Decent hotel, small rooms- at least the 'classic' ones. Nice restaurant with good service. Helpful staff. Location is good. Nice pubs nearby. Nothing comes to mind that i can complain about. Just a funny incident - The reception guy was fast asleep & snoring when i checked out at 04:00 AM in the morning as i had an early morning flight. Thank god i cleared my dues the previous night! All in all i would recommend this place for a short stay of 2-3 days. 4 stars from me.

Totally Unhappy with their Unprofessionalism

It was not a good stay at all. They are not cooperative. They change their words too frequently. One night they agreed to change my stay plan & next morning another manager disagreed with the previous commitment. I was totally unhappy with their service. They even don't feel sorry for changing their commitment too frequently. Very bad mentality people out their in charge of this hotel. I will never go again with my family. Totally disappointed.

Good Stay at The Oriental Residency

We stayed 3 nights. The room was comfortable. 24 hours hot shower, clean linen, and prompt room service /house keeping. All in all a decent place to choose if you have family/work in and around Bandra West/Khar/Santacruz.

Cheap Hotel but a very good location

Had a decent hotel stay, but not great. Although I was told that my booking had been upgraded by the staff, the room looked very average!! The room was clean, but the bedsheets and linen were dirty. Not the cleanest bathroom, but manageable. Location and access make the property worthwhile.
Wifi didn't work.

Reasonable Distance to the International Airport

All the staff made sure to always greet us.Only the front desk staff and managers spoke English and regulary asked if we needed anything.

The breakfast buffet was excellent offering both Indian and Western foods. Some items changed on a daily basis. You also have the option to order freshly cooked eggs and dosa of your liking.

Room service also provided tasty and freshly made orders. They were very accomidating to those who don't eat spicy food.

The room was cleaned everyday, but it was of a lower standard than it is in the West.The towels were a light grayish color and had light stains. Either they do not bleach their towels or the water is not clean. The shower tiles and shower door had mold/scum, which could be easily scrubbed with bleach. The light switches, remote controls, telephone, and walls could use a wipe down.

The hotel provided what we needed during our stay. It's a great budget hotel, especially if you compare the hotel with it's immediate surroundings.

Checking was a nightmare. Had booked 2 premier rooms for 3 nights and fully paid and confirmation received. Upon arrival the front desk staff were telling me the booking was for 1 room only and I had to pay 5000 Ir per night for the 2nd room and claim with Expedia. After a long talking a second room was given which was a very basic room with twin beds. It appears that that the staff were a bit untrustful as we noticed another couple were going through the same frame one evening..

Secondly they quoted me 1300IR for Airport drop off when it was only 650+ when I checked with the driver. I forgot the name of the person otherwise the driver said he could take the matter up hotel management..

OVERALL PLEASANT STAY AND VALUE FOR MONEY

I ALWAYS CHOOSE THIS HOTEL FOR THE GOOD SERVICE AND LOCATION AND GOOD FOOD AT THE SOUL RESTAURANT. THE ONLY PROBLEM WE GOT WAS THE NOISE WHICH DISTURBED OUR NIGHT SLEEP DUE TO THE BANQUETS GOING ON EVERYDAY AND MUSIC PLAYED HEARD IN MY ROOM ON 5TH FLOOR.

Our stay at Oriental Residency

The location of the hotel is the only reason we booked this hotel. Much improvement has been noted in cleanliness since our last stay in 2015. But again we had to call the cleaner to clean our room since it was still dirty even after the daily cleaning. The good thing is that your request do fall in deft ears. Immediate action is taken to rectify the wrong doings.
The negative side was that we made special request to ahave non smoking room and we were given a non smoking corridor but then our neighbours, a group of men, were smoking in the room just opposite us. We complained about it but the man at the reception told us that nothing can be done since normally when they full they do not respect these conditions!

We had a beautiful stay at this hotel. It is very convenient to nice new Hospital, Dental Office,shopping,
restaurants, parks and casual walks. I want to thank the staff especially Melcome in housekeeping,Bhagat Singh, the driver, Shiuhav Desai, front desk, Arun S. F&B, Birandra, Ganesh,Saurav, and some names that I do not know. All these are wonderful boys and they work very hard to keep guests happy and they all deserve promotions.

Nice neighborhood buy very noise hotel, over price

We were very disappointed! The room they gave us was right next to the kitchen. Very noise until late at night and early in the morning! The first day we arrive after we have check in, we were in our room already one of the service men walk in without knocking at the door. Awful! Never leave your room unlock! I will not recommend this place!

Check in was smooth and staff friendly and informative
Corridors were ok - but there were dirty trays left outside doors all the time
The room was very small for the price we paid but the bed was clean and comfortable
The shower was strong and hot but the bathroom was quite old so looked dirty
Overall it served our purpose for a one night stay not too far from the airport but I probably wouldn't go back again if there was an alternative

Great hotel. Awesome location. Nice bar and restaurants. Rooms were fine. Hotel is totally let down by the awful customer service from the reception staff. They literally could not help us with anything. They couldn't sort us a taxi, they could fid anyone to help me put on a saree, they couldn't ring a restaurant to confirm a booking for us. I would recommend the hotel as the location is great and for the price, the rooms are good, but don't expect any help from the reception staff!

Don't stay here not worth your money!

We stayed here because we had stayed here previously in 2010. However a lot has changed about this hotel in that time. Find another hotel don't stay here. They are doing construction on the 1st floor and there are parties every night on the 6th floor. So there is a lot of noise. The bathroom was disgusting with cobwebs near the shower and dirt in the corners. Toilets were not cleaned properly. Our laundry wasn't picked up so we didn't have clean clothes when we were checking out. Room service was okay but overpriced. We didn't have any water pressure or hot water for 2 days. The problem with this hotel is not the staff but the management doesn't care about up keep of the hotel. This hotel is more of a 3 star then a 3 and a half. Don't waste your time or money staying here you will encounter too many problems.

Great little place

My husband and I are backpacking through Europe /UK. We were looking for something cheap and accessible. This place is conveniently close to a metro station, the rooms were clean with private bathrooms for each room (we stayed in a 3share). Warmth was not a problem at all the heater kept us comfortable all night. The included breakfast was basic but I couldn't complain. On top of this the multi lingual staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. In fact I already have.

We didn't even stay here a full night (intended, as we had a plane to catch overnight). However, the staff were very pleasant, the room was clean, and it appears they were even remodeling parts of the hotel. Only downside is the wifi is pretty slow. Overall would recommend if you are staying in the Khar West neighborhood!

Make sure u have ur so called Oriental hotel conf#

I booked one room for couple of nights through Expedia.com, I paid in advance and got confirmation# from expedia. Expedia said I do not need to call hotel for reconfirmation and so I did not call them. When guest reached they have been asked for Oriental Hotel confirmation number which is not same as expedia one and their data base is so poor that they can not verify. The reason they give it's sunday so we can not verify and my guest has to pay for the same which i already paid in advance. No doubt they return full amount next day but i don't understand why they can not verify confirmation with expedia on sunday. So, whoever is visiting Oriental please make sure you have Oriental Confirmation number before your arrival.
Apart from that mess, overall experience was good.
