A wonderful stay at The Armada. Staff are happy, helpful and enthusiastic. The restaurant is wonderful. Breakfast is a busy affair. Truly a great Irish breakfast walking the beach and relaxing on the lawn. Rooms are cozy and comfortable.

Great location and scenic view from our room. However it was super hot and no AC so we had to use fans. I found silver fish flies around the bed. The staff were mostly friendly apart from a few who could have been more mannerly and maybe needed training on etiquette in Ireland for example some non english speaking staff were not helpful, unfriendly and did not help with luggage and did not hold the lift even when they could see i was struggling with luggage and asked for some assistance. The staff in the restaurant also mixed up our order and eventually spoke to the manager who was a nice Irish lady who rectified the issue and said it was a language barrier issue with the staff member who mixed up the order. More gluten free food options would be great. It was very busy and the service was definitely affected due to weddings while we were there so it did not feel like we we attended to or made feel speical.

The location and restaurant are excellent. You can not go wrong eating at the hotel. Parking is super easy and the staff is great. My only complain was the lack of air conditioning in the hotel.

Love the ocean sound at night.

We got a room on the 1st floor, has stairs and elevator, nice room with an ocean view that was amazing. We had dinner in the restaurant, service was excellent and the meals were tasty. We had Fish and chips and chicken curry. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We also had the morning full English breakfast spread, EVERYTHING. Would definitely stay here again. They also have fans.

There was a loud wedding going on all evening so the staff was understandably busy. I was still able to get rest through the night with some noise-canceling headphones. One thing of note: the bus stops 20 minutes walk away so be wary of this if relying on public transportation. It’s not a difficult walk with bags, it just takes time.

Rooms were hot, loud and there were no electrical outlets in the bathroom or by the beds. We had to unplug the light to charge phones and use the blow dryer. The doors were very loud when they shut and the mattress was terribly uncomfortable.

It is a lovely rural coastal setting on the West coast of Ireland. It's a quaint and homely hotel. The hotel is eco-friendly and minimises the use of plastic. They also have fantastic plant-based options for meals. Breakfast at Aileen's had stunning sea views and breakfast was excellent. Staff were polite but not very attentive. The manager found us a table and called the waiter to take our orders, but we found it difficult to get any further service from the waiters. Granted the hotel was busy but the waiters seemed to focus on their regular diners.

Magical Hotel

The Armada is an amazing hotel from start to finish. The check-in staff was lovely and very accommodating. The views of the ocean and beach are unmatched. It really is a magical spot. We stayed in the oceanside Suite and it was views to die for. It was appointed with cute little things like a record player, old-time records, and a spyglass to look at the cliffs. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was top-notch. Everything was tasty and the service was quick and friendly.
I would highly recommend this hotel, it is a highlight of our trip to Clare, Ireland

We were there through necessity but will be back by choice. It was fab. Have options at breakfast as vegans was amazing. As there is a vegan chef in the hotel he could be utilised to further expand vegan options on the lunch and dinner menus. A vegan burger would be a good addition. Also a non peanut based vegan curry would be amazing as many people have peanut allergies. Absolutely loved our stay and look forward to returning. The attention to detail is above and beyond as is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The kid's gift bag was such a lovely surprise. Thank you.

Our stay at the Armada was absolutely amazing!! We had only planned to stay one night but booked a second night because we had such an awesome experience. We actually booked a suite for our second night which became our favorite memory of our 7 days in Ireland. Wonderful staff, awesome onsite bar and two restaurants a cute cafe right outside the building!! Food at the restaurants was dismal but drinks were great and everything else was stellar!!! Note: there is a lot to do from this location. Cliffs of mother (15 min), beach is walking distance and king John’s castle 1 hour. Easily two days here is a great choice!!

Wow, wow, wow. We had a one night stay and stayed in the Ocean View Suite. It was magnificent. The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge. We ate dinner in the Ocean Restaurant which is fantastic. The food was excellent and well priced and the staff were fantastic. We had a verpy enjoyable few hours in Johnny Burkes pub where the craic was great. Breakfast the following morning was delicious, particularly the Plant It Omelette.
We stay regularly in hotels around the world but The Armada is special and right up there was one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

Stunning Location, Food is Remarkable

The location is absolutely stunning. The staff is incredibly friendly. Every meal we had there was absolutely a treat. The only knock I would say is that the carpeting throughout the hotel gives a very dated view. Our windows had also accumulated quite a bit of condensation, leading to a bit of mold along the edges.

I booked this based on the wonderful reviews and I feel I stayed at a completely different hotel! To start, the staff were fantastic and very friendly. The hotel room was extremely small and ordinary. There was no view, the pillows were not clean and I have never seen a dirtier carpet than the hallways throughout. They were disgusting. After making reservations for dinner at 8:45, we waited 25 minutes for a table and then waited another 45 for any food. I will say the food was very good and the staff were very apologetic. For $325 euros per night, I was definitely expecting better. I would absolutely not recommend.

Very nice by the sea facility. Rooms were bigger than most hotels. We were tucked into a corner but could open our window for a breeze. Would have loved to be facing the ocean. The breakfast was worth our stay, the best breakfast in our month long trip. Staff were great especially in Johnny Burke. Would stay here again.

Everything was great except I was charged $591.06 twice to my credit card. The fact that the resservation was made with Expedia seemed to confuse the young lady checking me out. I didn't notice the error until today while I was checking my credit card charges. Also, there is an Expedia charge on June 1 for $192.49 and I don't know what that is for. Please review for me.

Mini break in Spanish point.

Had an extremely pleasant mini break at the Armada Hotel. Beautiful cosy room with panoramic view of the beach and sea. All the more spectacular with the crashing waves. Food in hotel was very tasty and plenty of options from casual bar dining to fine dining. Ideal base for touring around scenic areas close by. Staff warm and friendly. I would recommend this hotel highly.

Had a fantastic stay in this hotel. The views were incredible and it felt like the room was floating in the middle of the ocean. The window seat looking out over the water was calm and lovely. Was lovely to relax and soak it up after a lot of site seeing during the day. The staff also made everything really easy and checking in multiple times during the trip.

Was more than impressed, wasn't expecting it to be as nice if I'm being that honest. Interior was very clean, modern and spacious. Rooms were large and good bathrooms. We are in the bar and the food was fantastic, compliments to the chef as often hotel food it common and predictabke but our dinner was freshly cooked. Location was good but the weather wasn't kind, fantastic views of the sea. Hotel was very cautious with voice with masks to be wore in hallways and all public areas when not eating.

We had a fantastic stay in the Armada. The room was perfect, the location is great right on the beach which kept our little girl happy, and the service was second to none. All of the staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. A great breakfast every morning, with good measures in place for Covid Safety. And the food in both the bar and restaurant were delicious. The girl working in the bar serving tables on Sunday 26th July in particular was so helpful and friendly. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

I fell ill that day & upon my arrival, 3 people came to help me with bags & check in. Anne brought me tea & toast. My travel partner had dinner in the pub which she said was excellent. The view from our room was spectacular; roaring surf right out my window. This place is impeccable. Looks newly renovated & one of the few hotels in this gorgeous area to Stay open year round. They do many weddings here & it is a large but charming space. Great buffet breakfast and our bathroom was top notch. I love this place.
