Optimal location, ok hotel

The location of the hotel made it easy for me to view the Sea Festival parade and to access the festivities. Parking was inexpensive and on-site, and staff was friendly. The fitness club was closed early on Saturday, so I couldn't use the pool or get a work-out, which is a shame because it looked like an excellent facility. The massage was very good and not costly, and again very convenient. The Sky Bar is a pleasure for the view and not expensive, even if the 1664 beer is not the genuine article. The room was not cleaned during my two-day stay. The elevators are old, creaky and small.

Hotel in need of remodel!

This is a difficult hotel to give a review off! This hotel is in need of a refresh. If you get a room with a view it is beautiful but the room is tired. Staff was OK lotta new staff so things are mixed up like giving reservations for the wrong rooftop restaurant. Having to change rooms because one room is so hot. For a four-star hotel breakfast was for like a three star hotel I basically only eat and stay what’s the time in four star hotels. I did love the view and the location was nice I just hope they refresh the Hotel soon.

My room was not ready till 6pm, checkin time was supposed to be 3pm. . Many people were waiting in the queue to get roomS as well. I agreed with hotel that i will get later checkin due to this situation. In the morning, cleaner came without ringing a bell and scared me. She said that I need to move out since receptionist told her so.
When i was waiting for a room, decided to go to the sky lounge for a drink but the bar staff was immature.. we incredibly rude and did not bather to serve me since they were busy talking with their friends: smoking and having shots... they refuse to put my bill on the room saying that they are not part of the hotel...

Worst Hotel. They use new Photos from the new connected hotel to cheat you. Reality and the Pictures can’t be more apart. They should make it 2 Hotels with 1* for 10€ and the other keep 4* and charge 80€. So you just pay premium for soviet experience. And it smells is unfriendly and Bad breakfast. And very loud from Clubs around it at the weekend.

Terrible. The room was dirty and outdated. Complained at the front desk and i stead of immediate apology we got asked if the room “is entirely dirty”... as if partially dirty is somehow acceptable. Additionally, the walls are paper thin and having had a family with young kids next door made the experience even more unbearable. Additionally, there are plenty of hidden fees some as ridiculous as charging hotel guests 5€ to use bathrooms that are outside of their rooms. Needless to say we checked out early and did not stay for the full period the rooms were booked.

I have stayed at close to every Amberton in Lithuania and had fabulous experiences at all except this one. Amberton Klaipeda was truly dissapointing. The atmosphere is uncomfortable, the staff is unfriendly, and the room we requested and were upgraded to was terrible. Upon arrival to the hotel we were greeted by the front desk staff who took close to 20 minutes to locate our reservation. The hotel is set up in a very uncomfortable fashion, forcing you to walk between buildings almost as if you are in a maze. Might I add, there was no elevator access directly to our floor. 3 flights of stairs had to be taken in order to reach the designated room elevators. (With plenty of luggage this was not an easy task). Once we reached our floor. Low and behold, the key to our room did not work. Flash forward a bit and we finally have access to our room. We step inside and it had to be over 80 degrees, felt like a sauna. We adjusted the temperature gage on the wall as cold as it could go however no cold air was blowing from the ventilator. We figured we would give it time and went to dine at their terrace restaurant (at 10pm). The food was okay, but after 2 hours we returned back to our room and it was still piping hot. The next morning we complained, all to be told that they know of this issue as it has been complained about before. Yet, we were upgraded to a room that the staff KNEW in advance was a problem for other customers. I will never stay at this hotel again.

No complaint - great hotel.

I realise that when people read reviews and consider a hotel they need to treat the with caution. This hotel was in great condition and excellent value for money. If I was going back to Klaipedia I would certainly go to the Amberton. I loved the top floor bar with its panoramic views.

Welcome to Winter!

The hotel was very convenient for my business trip since it was within walking distance of my client. That is the reason that I chose it. On that basis I would stay here again. However, the room was freezing. The heating did not work at all and despite following the instructions I only succeeded in pumping ever increasing volumes of cold air into my room. Other than that I would say that the number of steps you have to use when carrying a heavy suitcase is a little bit on the large side. Hotel is easy to find and parking is very straightforward.

Nice and clean hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the hotel failed my expectations on three items.
1st. When I'm requesting a Deluxe room with double bed and paying for double bed I would expect to sleep in a double bed and NOT two single beds pushed together which makes sleeping uncomfortable.
2nd. Not sure about other rooms but room 01 on 13th floor (new block) has floor tile grout missing in bathroom in several places. A real turn-off.
3rd. The self-service breakfast kitchen was a bit below my expectations for a four star hotel.

We booked an economy class room in this 4 star hotel. Unfortunately, the information while booking didn’t say that there won’t be AC in the room. We couldn’t sleep, it was too hot, the window opened only a bit. There was a loud noise coming from outside, because they had outdoor ac units blowing right down our window.
At the end, we called to ask if it’s possible to change the room, so we had to pay extra charge to have a room with AC.
Breakfast was very poor, only one choice of juice, water with no ice, didn’t have even simple scrabled eggs, only weird omelette.
At the check out we met a rude receptionist who asked to pay full price for our reservation. The reservation was paid through expedia and I explained her that and i asked to double check. Her answer was: what do you want me to doublecheck? My system says you have to pay full price for the room!
Well i had to insist to check my reservation one more time and at the end she blamed it on her co-worker and asked me to pay only for the upgrade. Unnecessary and unpleasant time spent at check out..

Nice location and breakfast. However the hotel Conditions are old.
Swimming pool are really small. Also need to pay to use.
The most scary was the lift jumping each time goes it go up, every time we I take the lift. I am so worried gonna be bad happens. Hope the hotel will repair it soon.

Economy double room was quiet basic but that was everything I needed. It was on 5th floor and that floor looked like it realy could do with updating. But if you want you can book better rooms because hotel has posh rooms as well. Hotel is super centrally located so it is easy to find it and get from it everywhere you need. Breakfast as absolutely brilliant. A lot of choice and really delicious.

Central location, not bad overall

The hotel looks a bit old, but it is clean and well-maintained. It is close to both the old town (just across the bridge) and to the harbour, easy to reach by car. Parking is in a multi-level parking next to the hotel. Having seen the city, I'd say it's hard to find a better location in the centre, but be prepared for some noise (after all, Klaipeda is a large port). Having travelled a lot with my dog, I find the charge for a pet hugely inflated. Oh, and don't be misled by the picture featured on the Hotels.com website: the hotel is not the tall building in front, but the smaller one to the right of it (as of July 2017).

Don't stay here.

This hotel is not fit for family travel. Front desk is friendly and accommodating.
The rooms are not clean. Stains on rugs, stains on sofa (see photo, don't want to imagine how those stains were made),did not want to touch anything.
Pool is only a two lane rectangle.
The picture of the hotel is deceptive. It is not the big interesting K structure - it is the dirty smaller structure located to the back right of the photo.
Strip clubs and abandoned buildings surround this hotel.

Hotel is designed for adultery (e.g. Brothel, strip club, casino and so on. Heater does not work properly. Breakfast is in other building. You have to climb and go down several time by stairwell before you reach breakfast. Staffs doesn't have proper knowledge about transportation. Well don't stay there with family....

Worth a return visit to see if improvements made

Arrived at 1245hrs and was actually told to come back later as check-in was not until 1400hrs. This we knew, but in 40+ years of travelling this was a first for me ... to be turned away !
Although we had booked a simple double, we were upgraded to a deluxe with a jacuzzi when we returned .. very nice .. except we had to call to get the toilet seat and blinds fixed. Obviously house-keeping is a problem. Breakfast okay but in another building and no directions along various corridors, stairs and a lift .. a weird arrangment. Hotel looking a little shabby and doubtful it would be rated a 4 star by the AA in UK.
The hotel seeing the review have written and acknowledged these comments, so that is positive.

I write only about the new housing: The room window does not open. Air-conditioning freezes poorly, and the room warms up strongly from the sun. Washbasin, flush and bathroom floor requires care. The rooms Fast wifi everywhere. Excellent restaurant on the 12th floor in old building.

Hotel fully booked - you are looking for trouble

Check-in took one hour, because despite the fact that the hotel was fully booked, only two people were registering guests.
We paid extra for sea view when we booked the room, but at reception we were told that none of such rooms are available and they did not even bother to offer a discount - we paid full price for a cheaper room with twin beds instead of a double bed.
We got \"brown\" water in the shower, sink and bath few times...
Breakfast - chaos, messy tables and food choices not refilled - at 9:30 there was almost nothing to have, when the breakfast is served till 11:00. The food seamed ok, but it was simply not present...
We paid 5 eur for parking but had to park in a non hotel guest reserved spot because there was simply no space...
The hotel is in a good location if you plan to visit dolphins, city center, harbour or even beaches in Palanga (~30km).
I can only guess that this experience is strongly affectef by that enormous crowd of people.

Good hotel although is a lil out of date, Needs some upgrades. We have stayed in one of the sea view rooms on the 12th floor. the room was big and comfortable but the heat is a lil noisy and can keep you up all night.
One of the \"weak\" points of the hotel is that they don't provide water, coffee or tea for free. You need to pay for them 3€. I do understand that a hotel is a business, but it is the first time a hotel charges for tea and coffee.
Not sure I would be back, as there are other options around the same area with recently upgraded rooms and similar price for the product offered.

Hotel was in a great location with easy access to public transportation and the old town. I was in the new section and I thought that opening the door to my room and going up a few stairs to a seating area and then down some stairs to the bedroom section was crazy. I had a room that had air conditioning and it really didn't kick in - room was too warm for me. I thought the bathroom with the bath you step down into was also an awkard design.

I am staying at the same hotel for 27 years. Once I tried to stay in Radisson; however, after a few days I came back to Amberton. First of all - hotel is in the center of the city. second- has many places to arrange meeting or just to relax and have a cocktail. I like rooms with a sea view. I enjoy view of Baltic see and Kursiu marios - beautiful! Rooms are large and clean. Customer service - excellent. Breakfast - plenty of food.

4 star hotel in every aspect. Spectacular 11th floor view of the island of Smiltyne and the Curonian Spit. Sumptuous accommodation and a very spacious 20 Sq metres which includes a sofa chillax zone. Ultra modern furniture design. Climatic controlled suite. Breakfast suite very well equipped facilities with ultra polite staff. K hotel overall facilities are 1st class. Bowling alley plus the basement swimming pool and spacious gymnasium and sauna. 10 euros for a 2 hour session. Very impressed with my 4 day stay overall. Paid circa €50 per night at the amber ton. A similar hotel in London would be quadruple in price. Thank you.

Worth what you pay for

Pros: close to old towne, many restaurants nearby, free parking on site, ok but not great breakfast (large selection, but somewhat cold and not so tasty), good view of old towne from room. Cons: very small room, air con not at all effective, we sweated all night with it on full, despite rather cool outside temps. No place in bath to set things down. Hotels.com website said we'd have a minibar and safe; our room had neither. Seems there is an 'old part' and a 'new part' of this property, and the old part is pretty primitive compared to what we expected to get. It is, however, a good value as it was way less than other choices, hence my review title.

We enjoyed our stay but nothing really stood out. We stayed at the same hotel 4 years ago and the breakfast - they used to do it at a restaurant back then - was fantastic. Unfortunately, nowadays they do it elsewhere and its of a much poorer quality, they could really improve their breakfast service.

Really a great place to stay

Excellent location, great restaurant on 12th floor, nice club, the deluxe room were nice too.
The staffs are very friendly and goes the extra mile to assist you.
Especially Ms. Darja at front desk was always trying to assist in any way she could, staffs like Ms. Darja is indeed an asset to the hotel.
Nice specious lobby with great wifi all over the hotel was excellent. Very reasonable tariff for the quality and services you get, right at the heart of Klipeda.
Over all I must say \" it was a GREAT CHOICE\".

They need to get electronic door locks! Very irritating to keep turning and turning and turning the nob to lock or unlock . The employes English needs to be worked on a bit . Also the staff should not stare so hard ! The rooms aren't as big as the picture looks ! My stay there was all right ! I like the location ! The hotel itself is really pretty !

Great location, a little shabby

This hotel was in a great location, but overall, it was a little worn around the edges. Nonetheless, it was clean and comfortable, and there seemed to be a lot of business travelers there. Overall, it was a solid \"fine.\" The breakfast wasn't really very imaginative. They have two decent rooftop bars (there are two towers to the hotel, the old and the new), and they each have great views, but the food was mediocre and the prices for drinks were a little on the high side (but we expected that. It's a hotel after all!) All was perfectly fine. Good luck remembering how to get to the lobby though, it's very confusing if you are in the K building (the new tower). They have a line painted on the floor to help you. Follow the line. Seriously. :)

This was by far the nicest hotel room my wife and I had ever stayed at. We opted for a deluxe room as the prices were so reasonable and we had our own jacuzzi in the bathroom. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast spread was superb. To top it all there was a rooftop restaurant/cocktail bar with views out onto the curonian spit. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel. Unfortunately very poor service. At our arrival they told us that \"by mistake\" our rooms had been given to somebody else, and that there was nothing theye could do about it (?) (We had made reservations through hotels.com) The person at the reception just told us that we could get another room (which was not a suite like we ordered). She told us that \"the good news is that this was cheaper\"... They didnt even offer a discount on the normal rooms. Basically they couldnt have cared less. It was first after 30 minutes that we asked to speak to the manager, that they came up with a solution. An acceptable solution at the time, but not a very good one. In general the level of service is very low. When you call reception and ask for something (for example) an iron and board, you have to call back 3 times at least in order to get them moving. My friend ordered room service. It was cold when theye served it (after a long wait). All in all the hotel is very nice, but they seriously need to change the staff.

Amberton--Looks are deceiving

Upon checking in I discovered what is not on the website: Huge differences between Economy and Standard rooms that DO matter. There is no internet access, the room carpet was filthy, the hall dimly lit and worst of all, the bed is cheap and spongy.

location can't beat,preaty clean,no complains about room size,but could be more closet space,some drawers to keap your belongings,was imposible to keep room neat,there is planty room and posibility to make space more useful.We stayed 8 nights,clothes were spread all over the room ,ugly.Beautiful modern bathroom,but no towel raks to dry towels just little hucks.Becouse we were there all week i miss simple eggs,omlet was realy realy owefull,pancaces could be better too.Keys to the room didn't work constantly,that needs improvment.Becouse excelent location,modern,clean we wish to stay there again,but all thees things shoud be improved,next time i be sure to ask wath i am geting for the price i am paying.

pretty good, but some drawbacks too

our group of ten (5 rooms) were ok with our accommodations BUT the 3 couples who were promised Queen beds were given 2 twins like the others AND some had unusual rooms with smoked glass walls for the bathroom that were exposed to the bedroom, especially when the bathroom lights were turned on. The shower stall in one bathroom had a bad leak. The closet space was very small and limited. Mirrors and lighting in bathrooms were not good. It was difficult to get around to the elevator bank to the rooms, we had to go outside and around to another building which was difficult with our baggage coming in and going out. The positives were the buffet breakfast was nice (when it was replenished); the hairdryer in the bath was good and strong and the beds were comfortable though small. The noisy strip club next door was not a pleasure to deal with when returning back to our hotel in the evenings.

Not worth it

I was staying there just for one night (Sunday) and I had the worst experience throughout my whole 10 day journey across Lithuania.
It started with the check-in. I arrived around 3-4pm and I've been shocked when I entered my room - it was all over the place. Apperantly they made a mistake, the room was not cleaned yet, so they gave me another one.
That's where it all went from bad to worse when I discovered that the shower drain was clogged. As a result the whole bathroom was flooded (even the carpet outside).

Talking about the positives, the hotel is in good location with nice decor and the view to the port. But that's about it.

Hissen var lite obehagligt ryckig. AC i rummet fungerade inte så vi hade väldigt varmt. Långt till frukosten. Stor matsal med högt ljud.
God och fräsch frukost och mycket trevlig personal. Spa:et var två bubbelstrålar och inte så rent vatten.

Hotellet var bra men det finns utrymme för flera förbättringar.
Incheckningen gick smidigt men sen när vi kom till rummet var inte bäddsoffan uppbäddad plus att det saknades handdukar, det drabbade en annan familj i sällskapet också.
Om man vill ha rummet städat sätter man upp en lapp på dörren vilket vi gjorde. Städningen innefattade; ta bort handdukar och kasta på täcket på sängen. Dom rengjorde ingenting, dammsög inte samt plockade bort använda glas. Vi klagade på det och efter en stund var rummet ordentligt städat.

Frukosten var helt okej, det fanns det man behövde. Barnen älskade våfflorna med alla tillbehör.
Det var rent och fint i matsalen.
Poolen, bastu och gym var väldigt bra. Det var en skön temperatur i luften vid poolområdet så man kunde sitta och njuta i timmar. Poolen var dock lite för kall för min smak, men barnen badade i flera timmar.

Hotellet ligger bra med promenadavstånd till vid flera restauranger.

Jag skulle inte säga att hotellet är 4-stjärnigt utan mer 3-stjärningt.
Överlag ett helt okej hotell för både familj och vänner.

Unser Zimmer war in einem Nachbargebäude was eher nach einem 70er Jahre Block ausgesehen hat und eigentlich auch so ausgestattet war. Für zwei Nächte schon ok aber für den Preis dann eigentlich doch zu viel. Bzw zu wenig.
