Ketut the driver is amazing! The breakfast that they serve daily is amazing. They have vegetarian options that rotate daily based on international cuisine. they offer a shuttle that goes into Uber center that is very convenient. There is also security right before you enter the resort so you feel very safe. It is very easy to contact them for any needs or accommodations via WhatsApp.

Need wall hooks and extra mirror

Adjoining rooms were excellent. Need hooks inside and outside of shower stall to hang clean or dirty clothes when taking shower. If 2 ladies sharing a room, need extra wall mirror, one mirror by the sink is not sufficient and mirror area not well lighted. Also window view shows a unkept patch of grass. Put different kinds of tall vegetation and some flowers will beautify the view. Thank you.

This resort is a fantastic choice! The daily shuttle to Ubud was a major plus, and the friendly drivers were a great source of local tips. The spa services were also wonderful and provided a much-needed dose of relaxation. Excellent facilities and service made for a truly enjoyable stay.

Me and my partner stayed in the standard rooms (9xx), instead of a villa.

Mosquitos issue

Overall we are giving a 3* rating primarily due to the mosquito issue that we experienced. Each day we woke up with fresh bites. The staff offered us a mosquito killer spray which we then used, but regardless there were always more mosquitos and this wasted a lot of time everyday and made the stay really uncomfortable. Other reviews aren't mentioning this so possibly our room had an issue. We always left doors and windows closed so maybe they got in during room service. One bite got infected with cellulitis and needed a doctor visit and antibiotics. The staff pointed us to an on call doctor who was available at midnight and charged £85 (for on call visit, oral and topical antiobiotics, cleaning kit).

Possible areas of improvement:
- install small dining table setup to eat or work when needed in the room.
- shower needs extra shelf to store additional items, existing shelf is too small.
- install pool table or table tennis table to pass time at resort.
- more wardrobe storage space.

Things we liked:
- Friendly staff eager to help, eg let us use kitchen microwave to heat leftovers once
- Big bed, reliable WiFi, decent size TV, good water pressure, toilet bidet, powerful AC, spacious room, swing, views.

I absolutely loved this hotel! My only regret is that I didn’t book a longer stay. The staff was warm & welcoming. They had amazing customer service. The room was spacious & gorgeous. I ordered room service after a long day of travel & it was delivered promptly. The breakfast in the morning was amazing & had a lot of good options. 10/10 overall :)

Good but good be a lot better.

A very nice property however a few issues: a rat/mouse in my villas. Was dealt with quickly but still an issue. Needs a bit of a make over or refurb - things are out of date.

Also quite far from UBUD. Looks like a 7-10 min taxi journey but due to traffic it can be 40-50 minutes; so quite isolated.

Great place for family stay with beautiful views
The food is nice in this hotel as we have tried breakfast and menu order options.

The only thing we didn’t like was that there are lots of lizards in the hotel ( outside the room ) after sunset but it’s not the hotel issue, it is due to the location on the rice fields which can be seen in any place with these views

Expedia never sent me a confirmation email that I booked this property! I knew I had a hotel booked but couldn’t find anything in my emails a month before my trip. I panicked and I had to book something else in the meantime. I wasn’t sent any other emails from them until the “day after” I was supposed to check in! I was already at another hotel by then. This website should really send confirmation emails AND upcoming reminders about hotel reservations. Lost out on a lot of money and they won’t offer me a refund for their mistake. Unsatisfied customer!

The pictures do not do this place justice. It's a peaceful haven in a busy, loud city. There is so much privacy in this hotel - yet it's still quite populated and there's much to do. Restaurant is delicious, bar is fun and yoga is fantastic! Highly recommend...

A nice boutique hotel located about a 40 minute free shuttle ride from Ubud. The villas were nice, roomy and private with a nice sized pool. The free breakfast was nice and you had the free option to have a variety of fixed meals delivered to your room pool side. Most meals tend to be eaten in Ubud as the dinners at the restaurant are both expensive and of poorer quality than is available in town or at other locations just 10 minutes shuttle away. The hotel uses local community members as shuttle drivers and you can hire them for short trips or full day private tours. I suggest downloading What’s App before you leave as that is the main means of communication.

The location of the hotel is beautiful! The staff is so friendly and they do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The new premier rooms are stunning. The puplic pool is not very inviting and seating at reception is very limited. The lagoon rooms were dirty and very old. I dont mind old but those rooms have gone beyond old. They are falling apart. Needs renovation NOW.
At this stage I would not come again until renovations are done. Thank you for your hospitality

Good hotel, but transport ripoff

Overall excellent, but there is an interior taxi mafia that tries to rip you off badly. Some guy named Windy explained to us that they couldn’t call a taxi and we would have to use the hotel service which costs 3 times as much as a taxi. That was very annoying, but other than that the hotel was good (with the exception of a bad smell in the room).

There was a lizard in our room and a lot of bugs. The place is very run down and the lagoon pool looked very dirty. The bathroom was connected to the outside and had a lot of bugs.

Beautiful setting next to paddy fields. People/ staff were attentive and interested. The resort is going through some renovations that we had not been informed of prior to travel. Work started at 9 and continued until it was dark. It is a good 30 to 40 minutes on the free shuttle bus to Ubud with no alternative restaurants/ bars in walking distance. This sounds like a moan but we did have a lovely stay, i only wish we had been told about the work before travelling. Dont let this put you off just be forewarned

Our stay here was nice we only stayed two nights but the staff was very friendly. We had a bit of a hiccup when we got there because they had “upgraded” is to a better since it was our honeymoon. We didn’t think the room was better or that it was an upgrade don’t get us wrong the room was still beautiful but I had something in mind and I wanted the original room. but we had no problem fixing it. My husband simply told the staff we wanted our original room and they okay and took us to it :) over all our stay was great but keep in mind that this villa is far from shops they did provide a free shuttle service to Ubud center but I prefer walking out and exploring on my own

Beautiful Hotel, extremly kind and friendly staff

The paradise was sought and found! The hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed at the hotel nine nights, our villa was very large and beautiful, with a lovely garden and a wonderful private pool. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and kind, absolutely helpful in organizing the offered various activities, trips and drivers. We can highly recommend the rice fields trekking with Oka, it is a wonderfull excursion with lots of information and interesting facts about the area, Oka was a perfect guide.
The restaurant was delicious and had a large menu, again the staff just made the difference, they are all so kind and professional, very high service standard.
During our stay we had several treatments at the hotel Spa, as well a wonderful experience, with a beautiful view over the hotel garden.
Overall, a beautiful and spacious hotel area, very well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful and that literally reads the wishes of your mind.
We will definitly come back, the Furama Hotel is perfect place to relax beyond the mass tourism in Bali. The stay at the Furama was an absolute highlight, which is why we definitely recommend the hotel.

To start off, we were more than pleasantly surprise for the free upgrade to a family villa since they knew it was a honeymoon trip! Beautiful villa, has a very Balinese feel with a touch of zen to it. Spacious and clean. It can get alittle too quiet when it starts to get dark, as the distance from the lobby to your own private villa is a short buggy ride away. Would highly recommend to those in search of a beautiful, peaceful and quiet villa to relax and unwind. It really feels like you're on another pretty secluded island sometimes. Reception was practically just a call away and their buggy service is rather prompt without any unnecessary delays!

Very very thoughtful to have a free honeymoon icecream cake for us too! Would definitely, definitely recommend this hotel to anyone else :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Furama. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly staff who were so pleasant from start to finish.
We stayed in a private villa which was the height of comfort. The pool was big, the bed was big and the bath was huge ! Couldn't fault the amenities and the service - highly recommend Furama.

This hotel boasts everything listed & more. The pictures don’t lie, Furama really is beautiful! Appropriate for those wanting to escape the hustle & bustle; & especially for those who prefer to relax more around the pool than to get up & go adventuring everyday. That being said, there are activities at Furama available for guests ensuring that families, couples and everyone in between are kept entertained:
Balinese Culture Night, approx $35AUD
Wood Carving Lessons, approx $30AUD
Yoga Lessons, approx $20AUD
Balinese Cooking Lessons, approx $80AUD
and of course, a beautiful in house spa.
Things can get pretty expensive, especially if you’re there for more than a few days doing activities & eating at Padi’s Restaurant (that has lovely views); so for those on a smaller budget you will be glad to know that their is a shuttle that runs every couple of hours to the centre of Ubud and back. The distance is not that far however traffic can be sketchy so always plan for 30-45mins. The service is exquisite at Furama & the staff are extremely friendly, always willing to tend to your every need. Fantastic room service & breakfast buffet!! The villa was always kept clean & replenished full of creature comforts while you were away. Both pools absolutely fabulous but the Lagoon Pool was easily a favourite, with a swim up pool bar to enjoy.

The Furama Villas was a very quiet tranquil environment.
They have a shuttle bus service to take you into Ubud Town which is great but the last shuttle going back to the Villas is too early! They need to offer a later shuttle for at least 9:30-10:00pm as it so much cooler walking around & gives you an opportunity to have dinner elsewhere!
The food at Furama could be improved also, but still ok!

Good experience. It's not as personal as some other smaller villas due to the existence of 42 villas on this property, but they manage it well. The condition of the place is well maintained. One issue is that they only provide free shuttles every 30 minutes, but don't provide any scooter rental onsite for you, unlike most other villas in the city we stayed at.

Quiet and private villas.

We had one of the original villas, rather than the new ones...I recommend the original. We got to check out the new ones and although they are more modern, you get was less outdoor living space and less privacy. If you're traveling with a family, maybe that's okay, but as a couple, the older villas were the way to go. Staff was friendly, greeted us by name all week. Room was well kept, security provided peace of mind, spa was awesome (though pretty close to normal USA prices vs. what you can find in town for a fraction...you get what you pay for I suppose). Food is pretty good and safe to eat. A doctor is also available on site during certain hours of the day. Great little quite gem.

This hotel was located about 20mins out of Ubud town. Very peaceful and relaxing and staff were very friendly.
We booked this through Expedia and the only draw back is that we got a different room from what we thought we paid for.
We had booked for our own private pool villa and got a lagoon deluxe villa. Still very nice, but our private pool in the lagoon villa did lead into a bigger pool which all guests can use, so didn't quite get the privacy we wanted, or expected as they have gates leading into the big pool which people can probably look under if they tried. The hotel does offer lots of activities, so you can be as active or as quiet as you like. The staff are all friendly and chatty. I do think the spa was a bit overpriced, so we didn't go.

Loved it!

We had the most wonderful time! We walked in the door to our private villa after 14 hours of traveling, and it was like finding heaven on earth!
Perfect to relax, unwind, and spend some quality down-time.
Breakfast is great with a wide range of options, and all other meals are essential Aussie prices.
We made use of the shuttle into town everyday, and checked out the markets, restaurants (to which there are many!) and Monkey Forest.
First trip to Bali, and we've already planned the next. So great!

As always, excellent service from friendly, local, Balinese staff. Beautiful private villa in a complex with private pool.
Service was second to none. Villa design is perfect for a couple who wish to do no in house cooking. Some aspects of the buildings and furniture are starting to show their age. Wifi could be a little hit and miss at times

Relax & peaceful staying

We were four person in a group, stay in 2-room villa with private pool, the pool was clean and room was comfortable and clean. No issues for us in a very late check in, the staff still very politely and willing to provide us welcome drink although the time was 1.30am. Found relax & peaceful in the villa. Breakfast was the same in three days, but we requested for vegetarian food for my parents, they were likely to prepare a new food on our request. Paddy field view in the breakfast restaurant, will back again for future visit.

Fantastic hotel outside Ubud

We stayed at Furama for 3 nights. I contacted the hotel before our visit to find out more about the activities they offered. I received a prompt reply with so much helpful information about their cycling, trekking, cooking classes, spa and tours. We decided to book a cooking class before we arrived to ensure a place.
We arrived at the hotel before check in, but the hotel provided us with drinks and a place to rest while we waited.
We were upgraded to a Duluxe spa villa which was lovely. The villa has its own pool, whirlpool bath (which we didn't use), huge bathroom, comfy sitting room and high ceilinged bedroom.
The Furama villas sit on a large plot with a padi field in the middle. This gives the whole place a calm and spacious feeling. In the morning you can hear the birds and at dusk the bats and crickets are in full song.
The restaurant was great and the Buffett breakfast catered for all diets. The staff were friendly and well trained. The spa was fantastic and we received a free 15min massage and 40% off the bill which made it even better.
The cooking course was worth the early start to visit the market and learn about where the food comes from.
There are shuttles to Ubud but we didn't use them.
We were able to book a Furama car to take us to the airport which cost 350,000 idr.
I would recommend this hotel to those that like the quiet and finer things in life!

Off the beaten track.

Great if you after a quiet out of the way place to stay and relax. Had the Royal Villa for the family. Enjoyed the whole experience. Only negative was the smell from time to time; I think it was just the rice paddie fields next to the property. That and the internet would come and go from time to time.

Beautiful spot for a relaxing break

After 10 days in busy Seminyak, arriving at Furama was a breath of fresh air, literally! We were greeted with an upgrade that gave us an absolutely beautiful room with a private pool, connected through your own gates to the biggest swimming pool I've seen! Filled with beautiful, clean spring water, refreshing and very tranquil. The staff here are absoloutely lovely. We did the bicycle tour from the hotel through the villages and paddy fields and it was well worth doing. If you want to shop or explore Ubud, there is a free shuttle that runs from the hotel numerous times throughout the day. I would definitely recommend Furama to anyone wanting a quiet retreat within easy distance to the many attractions of the Ubud area.

Great luxury resort out of the busy part of town

Loved this resort. We had a private pool villa which was spacious & clean. Only weird thing was the bathroom had an open ceiling so could hear everything in there!

Excellent and Good choice for my honey moon.

I really enjoy the stay in Furama Villa & Spa. I am celebrating my honeymoon with my love one for this trip, my hubby was surprise and happy for the complimentary cake for our celebration. Food is good especially PIZZA, he love it. Overall room, bathroom, swimming pool and garden was excellent.

I will definitely go back again for a week there...

Relaxing in Bali

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel, we were looking for a quiet place to kick back and relax and not do a lot so this hotel was perfect for us. But if you were wanting to get out and about it is a little out of the way. It is about 25 minutes out of Ubud, so if you are looking to dine out each night there is nothing close by. You would need to arrange your own transport. There is a shuttle bus which runs to a schedule but does not run at night. The restaurant at the Hotel had a nice outlook and the food was good. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for us. They made us feel very welcome. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields. A great way to start the day walking through the fields and watching the Balinese go about their work. Very friendly people. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

A really lovely stay here. Villas were large and spacious and private pools and gardens are lovely. Very quiet and peaceful and staff Service was excellent. Only possible downsides were lack of storage in bedroom and downstairs bar area looked a little tired but very minor compared to total privacy in the villas.

Highly recommended.

Look somewhere else

Our experience was disappointing the last four days. The Villa was picture perfect, however the service was terrible. We had a snake in the villa and staff took fifteen minuets to respond to our distress call. We ordered dinner the first night from the restaurant, and it arrived two hours later. Breakfast was included, but to anyone else I would say do not bother. It was a buffet of food that had been sitting there for hours, I ordered a cup of tea - which never came however they billed me for on checkout. Also, if you wanted a coffee from the coffee machine it was an extra cost. There was a lady standing there cooking eggs, when we asked for poached eggs she said 'no'. We had no idea why she was just standing there. Every day the gentleman who organised the bike tours hassled us to do a bike ride - we just were not interested in riding around that area as there is better scenery elsewhere in Ubud. Additionally we booked the yoga instructor through the hotel staff - $30 later and more expensive than Australia, only to be told by her after the class we could have done a free session an hour later? When we checked out we had to confirm our airport transport three times, and they still had not organised it. They also lied about having baggage storage - there is none.

All these events added up to a disappointing stay, where Hotal staff could not be trusted, relied on or helpful.

Great if you're alone too...

I decided I needed some alone time and booked this trip last minute. It was clear when I arrived that the hotel was well suited for a romantic break, but I was determined to make the most of it. All in all may stay at Furama turned out to be exceptional. The staff are amazing and bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. I felt safe and well looked after. I would recommend a stay here to some looking for some spiritual/me time as well as couples as it's just magical either way.

The staff at the hotel are wonderful. Our room was devine, with our own private pool. We met people who stayed in another section of the hotel with their room backing onto a 70 mt pool...it was awesome as well. We took 2 early morning bike rides with Oka from the hotel, who was fantastic...

Beautifully classy villas with excellent staff.

Furama Villas is an oasis on the outskirts of Ubud.
The Villas are large, and beautifully decorated in traditional Balinese style.
We had a deluxe pool villa, and the pool was large, set in beautiful gardens,not at all boxed in like some villas in Bali.
The staff were amazing! A beautiful romantic getaway.

Amazing spot with great service

Great hotel with incredible staff. An array of activities to choose from and a shuttle service to get you into Ubud anytime. The villas are amazing with a very quiet and private yard that includes a plunge pool. We have been here twice from halfway across the world and looking forward to visiting again. Try the bike your for an authentic Balinese experience and indulge in the spa for complete relaxation.

Miniature Garden Paradise

The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming in every instance. Our cooking class was superb, a true highlight of our trip. Fantastic value...and the little gardens around our villa were divine. The plunge pool with statue and fountain, canopy bed, outdoor shower and stone bath tub were very special features. The atmosphere overall of the grounds was delightfully tropical. The restaurant was good, really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The only critique I would make on the restaurant would be, it would be nice if the restaurant had daily specials to give a little more variety. Visitors should be aware that traditional style accommodation in a tropical country comes complete with wildlife (eg geckoes and lizards). The staff were very helpful about this. Mosquitoes were not a problem at all, though we visited during monsoon, due to the staff measures in place.

Couples retreat

The villa my partner and I stayed in was absolutely beautiful. With our own pool and a massive bathtub it was everything we needed to relax and more. The upkeep of the hotel was fantastic with housekeeping doing an amazing job (once in the morning then another clean at night!). The staff was great at helping us book our whitewater rafting trip with no problem at all. Even though the villa is beautiful- the location of it (if you like to go exploring etc) is not ideal. There is no way to get to any shops or restaurants by walking- you need to go via the shuttle bus or call your own taxi. Hence. The only place to eat is there restaurant- which has great food but can get pricey. I wasn't a big fan of the outdoor shower but my partner didn't mind so much. We had a problem with the toilet where it constantly flushed which was annoying- but only staying three nights it didn't get on my nerves too much. Great stay for couples wanting to relax & get away from the chaos of the everyday bali. I was so relaxed after leaving the villa!
