was everything okay? Not acceptable was water problem no water cold hot water is very very hot. What was nice cleaning was okay my room is balcony door was broke. I asked many times. Repair it but not taking any serious. Ask hot cold water. Repair it now taking the scene. No we need to be the customer service rubbish and they charge me more money than was agreed 95.

I checked in June 1st and checked out June 1st. Pictures on Expedia are not accurate. Very old and very tiny room. When we pulled up it looked closed and they gave my wife and I a twin size bed. We booked for a king. Shower didn’t work, flies everywhere. We ended up going to Sheraton Cairo Hotel and Casino. So save your money on this hotel and just spend the money on Sheraton. Also they said they will refund me the other two days I didn’t stay and no word from them yet.

Please be aware they are scam don’t go there hotel full of scammers and the hotel is so dirty . they using app like Expedia to steal people money I got to the hotel me and my wife and the hotel didn’t like the fact we get the room in a good price from Expedia which know I know why because Expedia help them to scam me . My story when I get there my and my wife they hotel people there was like you can’t stay with your wife in the same room you have to pay us for an extra room even tho when I booked the room it was for two people unfortunately that their way to scamming people then they never refunded my money and still 3 months and never refund me my money also the hotel is so dirty and in the wrest places in Egypt it’s a like two hour ride from the airport please don’t go there

2nd stay i booked 2 room in the hotel asking for clean room and away from noises , first i got the first room by the time i ask for the 2nd room they said we dont have u bookings for only 1 room i try to call the freaking after waiting and all they sad our bad we will upgrade u to suits for u trouble i said problem solved , i went to the sweet to have nice sleep wake up to find all my body covered with bed bugs marks or flies didn't say anything it just hopeless

I know travelocity has nothing to do with hotels. But I hardly recommend to stay. Travelocity and Expedia should removed Aracan pyramids hotel from this list. This Hotel is completely unwhelty and bad shape. I have pictures to proof this. Bathroom dirty and has fungus. The bed mattress and cover small horrible and dirty. Please don't stay here. I have to change hotel. Please I need to cancel this hotel reservation.and have my money back for this part of my trip

Basic hotel in popular area

After reading the previous reviews we were a bit concerned about his hotel but chose it because we needed to stay in that area precisely. It is definitely dated and probably hasn't had any work in a very long time. Think of it as a 2 stars hotel where you can stay for a couple of nights maximum, it was very cheap and served its purpose for us!

Language barrier.dusty, not cleaned,bed sheets dirty/stained.smoking in reception and at entrance.staff on your desk asking higher prices and dishonest.very noisy and polluted area.men doing their business in the street.bell boys asking for commission to arrange uber taxi and introducing to private car drivers .

When i went to check in. There was only one guy on the front disk.. He was checking in a group and i was already booked through the website... I was waiting for 15 minutes till someone else came and checked me in.. In 5 minutes...
At 8.30 i asked for a glass (empty glass) after i called 4 times the glass arrived at 10:00 .. They disnt even apologiz for this... At 12 am i heard a lady shouting outside... I opened the door found out that she was waiting outside her room for more than 30 minutes for the maintenance guy to open her room door (as the lock battery was empty) that what they said. No water, coffe, heater nothing inside the room.. Doesn't deserve 2 stars

It is a hostel,not a hotel.

Even it is cheaper, I am sure this is not excuse for have not normal conditions in a hotel. I tried give chance to this hotel specially for the rating. Toilet no working. No soap. No shampoo. Problems with plumber too. Noisy.
Located in a dirty street and the view basically is for some old buildings or streets.
The rating for this \"hotel\" is not real, maybe because is managing for locals and make it very improvised. This accommodation is a hostel, not hotel and is basically for sleep.

A very terrible hotel

This is a very misleading hotel. They are listing photos that are not even close to reality. I checked on my fist day, and a saw a lot of Moroccan beating each other, the 2nd day was the same. Rooms are so dirty. I had to leave earlier and lose 2 nights.... I even asked to talk to guest relationship, and never gave me time. Not safe at all

No sat TV, no wifi, pool with anything inside except maybe crocodiles, dirty cups and glasses, reused brakfast buffet, the groom made faces on every request, holes on the walls....4 star hotel? Not even in my dreams! And the area? We almost got attacked because we wore western clothes!

Good Hotel on the Pyramid Street

Nice hotel, partial view of the Pyramids. In the middle of a very busy street. A lot of noise, but not an issue for my wife and I as we wanted to experience Cario, not tourist Cario. Overall a nice place, needs some new carpet, but other than that it's good for the price.

Hotel staff is great. I slept in the king size room suite. Well that's what they told me, it has a balcony- very noisy highway. It is 1 hour away from CAI and 15 min from pyramids w. traffic. Bathroom was not clean, shower curtain had mildew was afraid to touch it. I did not sit on toilet-it was not clean. Old red carpet, very hard. I only stayed 1 night and that was long enough. Gift shop sells nice things in lobby.

Good hotel for local standards.

We are a family of 5 and like to have a single large room. The Aracan hotel provide this no problems. The hotel is close to the pyramids but further away from the city centre and air port. It is on a very busy road which we considered a safety risk to cross. Taxi's are easily available.

Good Points- Large room, Clean bath room, air conditioned, good access to Pyramids, good buffet breakfast, decent tours can be arranged in the lobby, friendly helpful staff, no problems with bathrooms (water pressure, temperature) close to a variety of western and local food chains. Availability of lifts. View of pyramids from our room.

Needs Improving- Poor Wifi, codes for Wifi keep changing, poor sound proofing, a lot of street noise even on 7th floor.

The hotel is a little season. Apparently it was re-brand and was called something else before. The facilities are quite old. But if you are looking for value for money, then this is the place. Some more it is located in Giza.

Staff very friendly, rooms cleaned daily ..wifi wasn't that great unless you sat outside your room! Other than that it was a great place to stay when I travel back it's a good possibility I would stay there again! The price for the hotel was decent and there are many places to eat near by and the pyramids are near as well ..other little markets and places to shop lots of transportation to take you where you need to go! Enjoy your stay here

I booked two rooms. One of them was queens bed with premium bedding. Unfortunately the room was not matching with the booking description on your website. I have been forced to stay in a twin room with my wife rather than the fact that I have booked it with double queens bed. The reception tried to convince me that my booking related to Expedia not Hotels. They showed me a confirmation receipt from Expedia not Hotels.com, despite i showed them at the time of check-in process my Hotels's app showing the two confirmations. They didn't aknowldge my booking on Hotels.com. In addition I was very dissapointed to know that there is no free parking at all. The hotels security advised me to park my car at a local car park beside the hotel, where couple of men (seemed dangerous men) asked me to pay them money in a rude way. The TV was a small one not 32\". Unfortunately this experience was dissapointed compared to my previous bookings with hotels.com

I stayed at this hotel 5 times, each time I have to ask the same request with no luck, which is to get a king-size bed or to get the 2 beds adjoined,
Housekeeping didn't change my linen,
my below case was almost yellow from the sweat even though they didn't change it until I asked,

Disappointing - Zero Rating

frustrating,
I asked for King size bed & they just adjoined the 2 beds in a twin bed room,
I ordered room service Iftar & it was the worst I've ever seen ever,
I'm sure that their employee cafeteria food is much better,
the receptionist was rude & unprofessional while handling my complaints upon check out,
the front office manager interfered in the situation & mentioned that the management intended to invite me for Iftar the remaining 2 nights but they were not able to reach me on the Room Telephone!!!!!
when I asked him why they didn't call me on my mobile or at least left a message or dropped an email, he answered confidently \"the disturbance shouldn't go far till this extend\"
!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hotel is in disrepair; carpets stained, mold and holes in bath room ceiling and breakfast was horrible! On ther bright side, the room was very cheap (you get what you pay for) and it is very close to Great Pyramids if that's what you are there for. Ask for room on inside of hotel to get away from loud street noise on outside! Staff was nice!

THE A/C hot for two days.

I stayed here for 3 nights and I didn't even have one night of good sleep. It is a very noisy hotel. The room was run down and not clean what so ever. The breakfast food was not fresh and was very low quality. It is also very far from the pyramids. Don't fall for the \"pyramid view\" in the advertisement. It is hardly even visible.
The traffic where the hotel is situated is really bad and the hotel is very far away from downtown Cairo. On my last night, they allowed a large group to stay at the rooms next to mine. They literally stayed up all night hanging out in the corridors, chatting, screaming. I asked reception to stop it but they were in different. I had to leave my room at 4am in the morning because of that. I asked for a refund for that night's stay and they refused to do so. I absolutely don't recommend this hotel for the price. This is, at best, a 2 star hotel definitely not 4.

I stayed at the Horizon Pyramids Hotel for three nights. I had just come back from a month in Abydos doing some research and needed a cheap hotel in Cairo before catching my flight home. I found that the Horizon hotel was pretty good for the price that I paid for it. The rooms were a tad run down and unclean, and I felt the need to wear flip flops in the shower, but other than that I felt that the rooms were very comfortable. My bed was just two single beds pushed together, which isn't a huge deal. The TV wasn't working very well and most of the channels were static-y. The only English shows that played were CSI: Miami, NCIS, Top Gear and WWE Raw, which would repeat throughout the day. The one channel that played English movies stopped working the second day I was there. The internet was a bit slow, but worked for my purposes.

As with some of the other reviewers, make sure that you ask for a room facing away from the street if noise bothers you. The food at the hotel was great! They had some very delicious pastries at the breakfast buffet and the room service was excellent.

Dirty room carpet, shower not working right keeps mixing hot and cold water every 10 sec while I was taking shower, No parking on site, I had to park on the street, Food is really expensive and really nazty at this hotel, had dinner the food was old rice and chicken tasted like leftovers. Around the hotel way better and cheaper restaurants. Stayed for one night I was busy for my work, didn't bother to complain. Just wanted palce to sleep but won't go back again, one more thing, there is no difference between economy room and standard room I paid for standard which is more money but I was told all rooms are the same and the view only is different so I got room with street view and the noise form the street was horrible I was on the sixth floor under two pillows and the noise was really disturbing from the traffic. It did for one night of business. Thank God it wasn't my vacation.

I have never seen such a mess in one place ,,, bad receiption with a torn up chairs and sofas ,,, very bad rooms that look nothing like the photos , dirty from the outside and inside , veryhard uncomfortable beds and blankets , bad rooms flooring , very very very bad air conditioning that I had to complain about 10-15 times in my 20 days stay , even the warm water stream was unstable ,, miserable room furniture ,,, very noisy neighbor hood , I can hear the noise from the street all the time , very crowed streets around it ,,the worst room service and hotel in general I have ever seen ,,, its definitely not a 4 stars hotels ,, maybe it was 20 years ,, but now , its max 2 stars hotel

Looks fine from outside, but awful.
My wife has forgotten her passport with her mum, they want to lock her until we bring the passport!! Crazy people, never seen such a thing in my entire life. They aren't human!!
I do NOT recommend this place at all to no one, looks fine from outside but it's a trap. Be careful.

The hotel staff is not only on point, they are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a one-stop shop with reasonably priced tours and transportation available on site, reasonably priced room service, as well as a small gift shop with a selection of Egyptian products that allowed me to pick up a few things despite only having an extended layover’s worth of time. The hotel offers airport pick up for cheaper than the prices offered at the airport, so email them in advance to arrange.

An Ok hotel. close to pyramids but noisy area

Well there were a few disappointments with the hotel. We had requested a driver to get us from the airport. When we landed and went out, we didnt find the driver. After calling and asking at the hotel, we were told the driver went for us and they will ask what happened. The phone cut out and then trying to call for half an hour with no one answering, we decided to take another taxi from the airport. At least it was cheaper than the hotel was charging us. The hotel looks nice. The rooms are big and we had a view of the pyramids like we had booked. However, the bathrooms are in need of maintenance. we had 2 rooms and both were similar and both needed work on the bathrooms. I was disappointed with the rate I was charged. I booked online and was quoted the rate in Canadian dollar. The hotel charged in US dollar.

Hotel is close to the site seen of the Pyramids. The only challenge was faced is that its fare way from Nile river and to the attraction area on the city center. Transportation is overcrowded on the site and could take at least an 1-2 for short distance. Area surrounding is safe.

it was stunning and beautiful. I could see the pyramids from there. I miss it alot and i love egypt and the people. I come there again in the future. thank you all and all the staff at the horizon pyrmaid hotel. it was very beautiful. i will never forget it forever. thank you.

Stayed there from 7/27/2013-8/2/2013. Plane arrived in the a.m.(1:30 a.m.) on 7/27/2013 and could not check in under the original reservation. Had to pay an additional amount for 7/26/2013 in order to check in and next day was placed in the proper room.

dirty carpet, a/c broken but cheap good location

at 35$ a night i would recommend it but any amount over $50 stay somewhere else. the carpet was red about 20 years old and full of stains. dont walk around without your shoes on. a/c didnt work so switched rooms. the a/c made noise all the time but no cold air. didnt try the restaurant. good location.

Room was ok and room cleaning service was fine. AC runs at full blast and then went off for a day, fixed after couple of calls. Breakfast buffet had same items with no change for 6 days we stayed.
Road infront of hotel very busy and noisy. Lots of choice of food in restaurants walking distance from hotel.
Swimming pool present but no swimming allowed as water not treated.

Great hotel and EXCELLENT tour company

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights on my first trip to Egypt. The hotel was very nice. Staff was excellent and went out of their way to help and to ensure I enjoyed my stay. The restaurant was good, the food was delicious. The wait staff was great, as well. Room service was good and brought my food abruptly after ordering. But it is the tour company, Golden Pyramids, that really made my trip stand out. They are EXCELLENT! I cannot say enough good things about them. Ahmed and Mohammad went above and beyond and out of their way to make sure I was happy with my tours and safe, as I was a single female traveler alone. They are so courteous and professional. Abdul, my driver was wonderful, as well. He was at the airport to pick me up and always on time. These are the people that made my first trip to Egypt a wonderful one! I will definately return and stay at this hotel again. I highly recommend this hotel and this tour company to anyone travelling to Egypt!

The perfect place to stay in Giza

My husband and I were very pleased with Horizon Pyramids Hotel. We stumbled upon this diamond in the rough after 4 horrific days at the hostel Royal in Cairo (see trio advisor for that review & picture). When the taxi pulled up to the Horizon Pyramids Hotel we were very pleased with the outside appearance; once we entered the hotel we were greeted by the front doors man who directed us to the reception area. We booked online & requested early check in. We were then directed to an sitting area to wait for our room which they said would be ready in 15 mins while waiting for our room a gentleman came with two wine glasses of punch. Before I could finish my punch the bell man informed us our room was ready. The room was small however it was enough for my husband & I. Our room had an balcony with the pyramid view. We ordered room service; not only were they speedy it was also delicious. I found the bathroom quite relaxing after a day of exploring. The deep tub & hot water was very relaxing. My husband and I highly recommend The Horizon Pyramids Hotel in Giza Egypt.

disgusting, filthy and not suitable for Westeners

We went to Cairo to study Arabic and hence were not so concerned in staying at a fancy or luxury / delux etc hotel. A clean room would've sufficed.

However, We were given (most likely) the cheapest room available. It was small, dark and the window let in the cold and the noise from the streets. Despite all this we would've have been quite content as long as the room was clean, particularly the bathroom. But th utter filth and neglect was from a horror film. The bath had grime all over it and the floor had never been hovered. When we requested housekeeping to clean the room their woefully inept attempt at convincing us that this had been accomplished was to leave behind a towel origami design.

We called housekeeping again and had to supervise the cleanup. It was disgusting to see that the toilet brush used for the toilet was also used to clean the bath tub. And they give the housekeeping staff a small bottle of detergent which is used sparingly.

Also the breakfast is awful. Unfortunately there's only McDonald's for any sort of decent coffee. Do not visit the pastry store next door as the coffee is hideous and overpriced if your a foreigner. Also do NOT use the taxi services based in the hotel. It's a ridiculously expensive ripoffn use white cabs and ensure they put on their meter.

Not worth the 4 stars

We had a bad experience with the service of the hotel...the hotel staff would not respond to any orders despite several calls..the buffet was great but after the third day we realized that the menu remained the same through the week.The hotel is ill-maintained and lacks some of the benefits that a 4 star is supposed to have the most important being the absence of a tea pot!!
