Great building, refinements to service required

Great hotel with lovely waiting staff for dinner. Room very warm at night. Breakfast staff refused to let me have sausage & bacon on a different plate which was odd, and food wasn’t replenished during breakfast. Nobody asked if the stay was ok when checking out.

Magical place !

This is truly a magical, peaceful and wholesome experience. It's green to no extent. It has a real fountain in the garden on the property and performance stage. Service is top notch and rooms are cozy and very very clean. My absolute best recommendation to anyone seeking best service !!!

Visit to Estonia

The Ammende Villa was absolutely outstanding. Very interesting architecture. The rooms we had on the 3rd floor were large and beautiful. It is a short walk into town. And a good value for a top hotel. I highly recommend it if you plan to be in the Parnu area of Estonia.

For Lovers of Art Nouveau

I chose to stay there for its architectural value. (There is even a Wikipedia article on the place.) It bills itself as one of only three truly Art Nouveau hotels in the world. While I don't know if that is accurate, it truly is a beautiful hotel that they maintain quite lovingly. They should actually give tours of the place as it would have enhanced my stay.

The hotel has a great location right between the beach and the Old Town. It is just a short walk to both as well as to the bus station.

On the down side, I found the included breakfast to be quite skimpy for the price of the room. There just wasn't the variety that you would expect to see in even far less expensive hotels in Estonia. Also, the wifi was shoddy at best.

I stayed in a Junior Suite with a Terrace in the Villa itself. Some of the rooms are actually in the adjacent Gardner's House. If you don't stay in the Main Building, I definitely think that one could do better in Parnu.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay there. But one night was definitely sufficient for me.

Surprise in Parnu, Estonia

Hotel is beautifully decorated with Nouveau artwork and traditional furniture. Guest house rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Staff were all very courteous and helpful and knowledgeable about the property's heritage. We participated in the \"Full Moon\" party that included a delicious dinner and interesting presentation by a local astronomer. He had a telescope set up, but skies were completely overcast.
Breakfast was delicious. The entire grounds were groomed with flowers and outside eating area.We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Overall it was nice but there is room for improvement. The rooms are spacious, very clean, beautiful furniture and a huge TV. The beautiful villa is getting already outdated, specially visible in the bathrooms. Stayed in March and it was quite chilly - the staff had put an extra electrical heater in our room (thanks for that) but the bathroom was too cold (cold floor) to take a bath but - loved the huge mirrors on the bathroom wall.

Also missed the tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Dinner was tasty, breakfast too - loved the a la carte menu and fresh OJ. But - the service was constant waiting. It is a small hotel and max 20 people at breakfast but the cold buffet was constantly missing something- may it be glasses, juice, food or something else.. Empty plates cleared not too often either.

It general it is a great hotel - still way better than most - but i guess the expectations are high. It used to be a 5-star, guess it is 4-star now.

Nice hotel close to the beach

My wife and I checked in late in the afternoon September 15, 2016. Even though it's the end of tourist season, we were surprised that we seemed to be the only guests. The manager and staff greeted us as we came in to the lobby, and the manager carried our bags to our room (no elevator). When we went down to the dining area for dinner, there was no one to wait on us. I went to the bar and knocked on a side door--no response. After waiting a while, finally our waiter came to our table, and we ordered some wine. We ordered a short time later (there was only one other couple in the dining area) and the waiter brought some food that we hadn't ordered. He apologized and took it back and when our dinner finally arrived, it was not as described on the menu. We were tired and ate it anyway. Our room was very nice and we had a nice night. Down for breakfast, again, only one other couple and only one service person available. Food was sparse, cinnamon buns overcooked and stale. Not impressionable and not a place we would return to.

Perfect for a special occasion

We stayed in the beautiful and spacious, multi-leveled attic room with sauna. Simply lovely! Staff was very accommodating. The breakfast - both gourmet hot (off the menu) and European buffet were included and about the best we've ever had. It included champagne and pate! Be sure to check directly with hotel about your room preference, as the picture displayed for the price range on our booking website was inaccurate. However, after we spoke with the manager, we were graciously moved the room of our choice.

Ammende villa was lovely. Every detail was in place - from the service to the luxurious amnities in the room. Also the breakfast is better than many of 5-star hotels. The location is just short few min walk to the sea, beautiful park. They have romantic concerts over the weekends. Lovely hotel!

Art Nouveau Style Experience

Great example of the art nouveau style. There are wonderful suites there too but we were not so lucky. The room was on the third floor and a staircase was a real challenge (there is no lift there).

prachtig a la carte ontbijt, zeer lekkere koffie, rustige mooie ontbijtruimte. Het bed is supercomfortabel. De verlichting in de kamer is ook goed, met een mooi groot bureau om te werken. Er staat een koffiemachine en een paar flesjes gratis water. De ontvangst is hartelijk en persoonlijk. Dit is duidelijk een hotel om vakantie in te genieten maar ook als zakenvrouw kan je er goed verblijven.

Päärakennus oli täynnä joten olimme sivurakennuksessa, jonka huone ei vastannut tasoltaan ennakkotietoa. Päärakennus ravintoloineen on hieno. Palvelu on ensiluokkaista, ja ruoka tasokasta. Aamupala ”parasta ikinä”. Voisimme jatkossakin majoittua Villa Ammendessa, mutta ottaisimme huoneen päärakennuksesta.

Hieno vanhan ajan hotelli jolle on varmasti oma kohderyhmänsä. Emme ehkä ystäväni kanssa olleet oikeaa kohderyhmää. Ravintolassa oli kommunikointi vaikeuksia tarjoilijan kanssa. Ystäväni on vegaani ja hänen oli vaikea löytää listalta jotain sopivaa syötävää. Meidän oli vaikea saada selville mitä tarkoittaa iso ja pieni lautanen. Ala carte listaa voisi päivittää selkeämmäksi ja sisältöön voisi lisätä helppoja nopeasti saatavia tarjottavia. Meille tarjottu juustolautanen sisälsi paljon aineksia joita emme voineet syödä : rasvaisia lihapaloja maksapateeta. Olisi helpottanut paljon jos olisimme voineet kommunikoida tarjoilijan kanssa kunnolla englanniksi. 5.n kerran kun tarjoilija haki vastauksia kysymyksiin salin ulkopuolelta luovutimme ja tilasimme vain jotain joka ei sitten vastannut odotuksiamme.

Upea hotelli, jos kaipaa eleganssia ja pitää jugendista. Voi siirtyä 100 vuotta ajassa taaksepäin vaikkapa Agatha Christien kirjoihin. Koko Pärnu on kuitenkin kävelymatkan päässä, mutta itse Villa viihdyttää vaikka koko päivän. Aamiainen pesee Wienin kuuluisimmatkin aamiaiskahvilat. Tällaisia hotelleja ei enää valmisteta.

The building is very beautiful. There was also a beautiful free art exhibition. Breakfast was awesome. The room was big and in good condition. Small minuses: No elevator, floor was making noise when walking. Also, nobody mentioned that it was possible to order warm food to the breakfast table. We only discovered it when someone in another table got an omelette. Overall a very good hotel.

Hotelli itsessään oli oikein miellyttävä yllätys ja palvelu ystävällistä, erityinen kiitos meitä aina iloisesti tervehtineelle vastaanoton ihmiselle.

Muille kävijöille suosittelen hotellia lämpimästi, mutta hotellin ravintolaan suhtaudun hieman varauksellisemmin. Ruoka oli ihan hyvää mutta ei mitenkään erityistä, tasoonsa nähden melko kallista. Esimerkiksi kampasimpukka-annoksessa ei ollut lainkaan paistettua kampasimpukkaa, ainoastaan kampasimpukkavaahtoa.

Otimme menuun kuuluvat viinit, yhteensä 4 lasia, joista kaksi unohdettiin: yksi kokonaan (muistutettuamme saimme sen kun olimme jo syöneet ko annoksen) ja toinen (jälkiruokaviini) niin että tarjoilija lopulta itse muisti, mutta viini myöhästyi annoksesta.

Tyylikäs ja historiaa huokuva villa. Palvelu loistava. Huoneet tilavia ja siistejä. Joskin meillä oli hieman ongelmia viemäröinnin kanssa ja jouduimme vaihtamaan huonetta ensimmäisen yön jälkeen. Kaikki hoitui kuitenkin nopeasti ja tyylikkäästi. Aamupalalla lämmin buffet tilattiin keittiöstä ja muut noutopöydästä. Tänne majoittuisin uudelleen.

Hieno villa!

Huoneemme oli ilmeisesti pienin ja halvin. Hyvät sängyt ja hiljaisuus plussaa. Kylppärissä ei lainkaan naulakoita. Aamiainen ei ollut niin upea kuin oli hehkutettu, keskitasoa, aika pienet valikoimat. Tarjoilija toi meille väärät lämpimät ruoat, koska ei ymmärtänyt englantia eikä menua, vaikka vielä sormella näytettiin menusta haluamamme ruoat. Tosin sitten tulikin vuolaasti anteeksipyyntöjä...plussaa kahvin ja lämpimän ruoan pöytiintarjoilu.

Vierailen Pärnussa pääasiassa harrastusten takia - oleellista hotellin valintaan on keskeinen sijainti, rauhallisuus ja mahdollisuus maksuttomasti muutella varauksen ajankohtaa matkapäivien muutosten perusteella - näissä asioissa Villa Ammende on osoittautunut hyväksi. Huoneet ovat siistejä ja tilavia - itse yövyn yleensä junior sviitissä, jonka hinta-laatusuhde on hyvä. Parasta hotellissa on edellisten lisäksi tasokas ravintola - erityisesti haluan korostaa pöytiin tarjoiltua tasokasta a la carte-aamiaista. Kaukana on ketjuhotellien häly ja päivä lähtee mukavissa merkeissä ja hyväntuulisena liikkeelle. Pysäköinti aidatulla pihalla - mukulakivetys aiheuttaa hieman päänvaivaa maavaraltaan matalalla urheiluautolla.
