An outstanding well-located boutique hotel with superb service.

If you have a stay in Tartu then this place is highly recommended. Many of the museums and parks are nearby, as well as restaurants, bars and cafes.

Our room was large and airy with a view towards the historuc main building of Tartu University.

Antonius is truly remarkable and very unique for Tartu. The decorations remind one those more of a castle or manor rather than a hotel. The suite is spacious, beautifully furnished, very comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast is served as a mix of buffet and à la carte. By far my favourite hotel in Tartu!

AVOID this hotel.
We paid for a suite however got a small room with dirty carpet and old mattres!!!

They refused to change room after we discovered bed bugs had bit us.
Breakfast has nothing at all some dry things..
At the end we did not go there since it was so bad..

A Rude woman in reception without any education or customer service skills.

The hotel has gone down and stall be avoided at all costs.

Hotel Antonius is in Tartu’s very much older part of town, right across the street from one of the university’s main buildings, which houses the university’s art gallery…..and it’s worth a visit.
The hotel is excellent. Outstanding staff at every level of guest interaction. An excellent restaurant and the hotel’s breakfast is everything you could ask for.

Amazing hotel. Most beautiful rooms ever for that price better than most 5 Starr hotels! The view wasn't gorgeous but it was AMAZING!! Food was delicious. Restaurant personal were ok.

Much like the town around it, the building is old, but well maintained, and brings with it an old-style charm. Our room on the top floor was spacious. The view was looking out over the snowy rooftop and neighboring buildings. We were only there for one night, so had limited time to discover the neighborhood.

The hotel is conveniently located near the University of Tartu where our daughter was attending for the semester. We visited near Christmas, and the local Christmas market was a short walk away. Be ready for walking in the snow during winter, as there will be lots of it.

Our interaction with the staff was pleasant. We ordered room service for dinner since we were too tired from traveling to venture out. But the included breakfast would turn out to be one of the highlights of our trip. There is a buffet which includes a selection from their menu prepared on request. The poached egg with smoked salmon was delicious. My wife regretted not ordering the same, although her pancakes (crepes) weren't bad either.

Love everything about this place: the quirky rooms (at least on the top floor), the great decor, excellent breakfast, superb service...only issue is that their AC didn't work as well at it should, we couldn't control the room temperature as well as we would've liked -- but they gave us fans and lighter sheets (upon request), which solved the problem.

High expectations, issues in delivery

Previous stay at Antonius was impeccable so expectations were high. This time we had deluxe room,last time suite. Service was smooth, not especially attentive. Room was spacious and beautiful but at some places worn. Other reading lamp was not working neither the electronic plug for telly. We changed to another plug and it worked.
Bathroom was huge and so was bathing tube. However shower curtain was outdated and somehow the whole bathroom felt too worn out.
Breakfast was excellent but it would be nice to have the waitress to ask for a la carte wish soon after we arrive. Now we had to wait for quite a while.
Still all in all this is beautiful hotel. I wish I was asked at the end of our stay how our stay was.

A Perfect Choice for Tartu

I totally enjoyed my stay at the Antonius.

First off, I LOVED my room. It was located on the top floor under the dormers.

Next, the hotel itself was beautiful. It is in a historic building and the decor appropriately reflects that fact. It has a great ambiance.

Finally, the location of the hotel is great. It is located directly across from the main building of the University of Tartu and only a very short walk from the Town Hall Square. Street noise was never an issue.

To me, the only area for improvement would be its included breakfast buffet. Don't get me wrong. There was nothing wrong with it. It was just nothing special.

We stayed there for three nights.
Location of hotel is good, just opposite to the main building of Tartu University and one minute to the town hall square.
I think the restaurant at the hotel is one of the best in town. Service, dinning environment and food were all good, much better then those restaurants located at the town hall square.

This is a beautiful, well situated hotel in the city centre close to tourist sites. We visited during hot weather (around 30C) and the only drawback to the hotel was that the air conditioning was not up to the job. We complained at the desk, they investigated, and told us that was "working but under-powered for this weather". Other than the aircon problem, this is a really good hotel, with a good selection at breakfast and helpful staff.

The Hotel Antonius is unique. The rooms are large and very charming. Our bathroom was huge with a soaker tub and unconfined shower (which wasn't as messy as one might think). The staff members were just delightful, extremely helpful, and spoke excellent English. The location is quiet. The dining room is very beautiful and the array of food for the included breakfast was incredible. The included WiFi worked great. I would highly recommend the Hotel Antonius to anyone who is staying in Tartu.

Great location! Right across from Tartu University and around the corner from the City Hall square and its restaurants. We needed three separate beds and the hotel staff quickly accommodated us. Room was clean, as well as the bathroom. Bathroom was renovated and had all the necessary expected items as at 4 star hotels. Included breakfast had a lot of variety and can order items on request. Immediately opposite the university’s historic main building. Ambience and décor are a great match for its location. Our bathroom was especially unique with original marble floors in excellent condition and a great view of the floodlight historic building across the street. Supposedly hosts Tartu’s best restaurant but the frilly décor and basement location was not to our taste so we ate elsewhere. However, breakfast buffet in the same location was excellent. Only street parking is available; although this worked out for us it could be a problem. Overall, we were very happy with our choice of hotel for our one night in Tartu.

To me Antonius is perfect. Personally I am not interested in luxury fancy pansy but value small, cosy, friendly and good location. Antonius does all of that very well. I have not stayed there before but have tried the restaurant when evaluating the restaurant scene in Tartu. At that time Antonius was by far the best restaurant in town.

one of the largest rooms i've had since i've moved over to europe. nice and spacious! the only complaint was out of the 3 windows, the window next to the desk had the handle removed so couldn't open it. since i spent part of the time working at the desk it would have been nice to have that window open. the staff was very friendly.

Great stay for the cost

The hotel is right in front of Tartu University and close to many city attractions but not in noisy area, so the location is perfect. The room was very comfortable with big windows with view of the street, high ceiling, and spacious bathroom. The only caveat is that it is almost impossible to take a bath without making the bathroom floor wet. We booked the room for very attractive price, which was a big pus too.

Hotellihuone oli siisti, mutta katto kerroksessa olleen huoneen huonekorkeus oli paikoitellen hankalan matala myös ns. normaali mittaiselle ihmiselle. Mutta kun tiedosto tämän, eikä etsiytynyt turhaan huoneen mataliin sopukoihin, niin kaikki toimi hyvin.

Henkilökunta oli ammattimainen ja avulias, siitä täydet pisteet heille.

Aamiainen oli erinomainen ja aamiaisvalikoima ihan riittävä.

Hotelli sijaitsee aivan ydinkeskustassa ja hotellin vierestä kulkee vain harvaliikenteinen tie, joten huoneisiin ei kantaudu liikenteen meteliä. Eikä talviaikana ulkoa kantautunut sisälle myöskään mahdollista yökerhoista yms. purkautuvan juhlijan puheen sorinaa

Precioso hotel, la habitación y el baño realmente amplios y cómodos. NO tiene estacionamiento pero en recepción del hotel te indican dónde estacionarte y queda a 5 minutos caminando.
El desayuno es excelente. Barra de quesos, pan , jugos, yogurt. Y además puedes elegir platillo principal de la carta. Delicioso!
El hotel está en la zona turística y linda de Tartu.
Muy recomendable.
