Hotel was okay. Everything was clean. Staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. Fitness center had limited hours (why is it not open 24/7?) and required a reservation, so only 1 person per hour could use it. Very limiting.

Good option to be close to downtown

Nice hotel with good service. The parking is difficult because they don't explain the parking layout very well. There is additional parking at the back of the building, which was always available for us. Good breakfast buffet. Very close to the main square and the walk along the river. Enjoyed and would happily stay again.

TThe property is situated in a great location with numerous shopping centers and restaurants within walking distance. The Tartu bus station is conveniently located across the street, providing easy access to Tallinn and other destinations. The breakfast at the cafe downstairs offered a variety of freshly prepared options and excellent service. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and professional. It would have been more convenient if the hotel had a buggy to transport our 7 luggages to the room. Although the room was clean, it appeared that the bedsheets had not been changed from the previous guests. Unlike most hotels, the room did not have coffee or hot water machines. Additionally, there was no laundry service available, which could be inconvenient for guests on an extended stay.

Nice hotel, excellent staff, good location. Check-in was easy. The rooms were good, but they seemed a bit like a hostel, with three twin beds and a small bathroom. This isn't a complaint, mind you--the room was clean and comfortable--but just FYI. The room also did not have any sort of coffee service in the room, nor did it have any way to heat water. Again, just FYI.

Lovely, Central, suitable for disabled

Delightfully retro with competent multilingual staff. Across from the bus terminal and a short walk to the university and the river as well as the shopping district. Nice cafe for a nightcap with friends or colleagues in town. Floors appear to be divided into singles and doubles so if booking a single you should specify if you need a quiet room. Otherwise quite quiet except you might wind up next to a school group but the one I was next to did not cause any disruptions. I would recommend this hotel for disabled Travelers

Delightful hotel, convenient location. Very Scandinavian style rooms with lots of light wood--very pleasant. Excellent breakfast buffet (but should have coffee cream and tomato juice). Staff kept supplies full until the closing time, so you get just as good a breakfast at closing! Sauna is very light because of a large window on one wall--delightful! There is a 6 euro per person fee for using the sauna in the evening--this should be included (it's included in the mornings).

I was looking for something reasonably priced, conveniently located so that I could have bus access to and from Tallinn airport and I found it Tartu Hotel. The staff was friendly and nice, my room clean, the free breakfast offered a very nice spread of hot foods, fruit, pastry and more! The hotel is within a 5-10 min walking distance from City Centre. And it’s a very nice walk along tree shaded streets and welcoming cafes. I would highly recommend Tartu Hotel to anyone.

Great location. Just right next to the bus station (tartu bussijjamm). It’s walking distance to the town hall and all the attractions. The science centre (AHAA) is just behind the hotel.
There is also a sauna facility in fr hotel. Morning sauna is free to use but evening sauna u have to pay around €6 for it.
Room is spacious and clean. Basic amenities but sufficient for a comfy stay.
Definitely a great choice if u r catching early bus.

My short stay in Tartu

The hotel was clean, comfortable and convieniently opposite the main coach station in the city. I had no major problems with my stay and the staff dealt swiftly with noisy occupants in an adjacent room when I complained. The breakfast was tasty and the city centre was well within walking distance of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to visit Tartu.

Hotel in good location (walk to shopping centers, just opposite the bus station), in good condition. Wifi functional. Good breakfast. The only drawback: the spa so prominently shown on hotel pictures is charged EXTRA (even the sauna), so this was a bit of a disappointment.

The hotel is in a good position for walking to the Old Town and other places of interest and has a nice river running through the town which is nice to walk along. The room was clean, comfortable but quite small but functional, no air conditioning so we had the window open. The lady on reception provided us with a kettle when we asked for one, breakfast was plentiful and a good veriety. There is plenty of free parking in the hotel car park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only one bad thing was that the internet would not work properly in our room.

Good, honest hotel worth the money

It's a good hotel: located centrally, room was clean and everything worked, surprisingly wide breakfast buffet. There are hotels with better view and swankier design in Tartu but they also cost more. Sauna area was super nice, and although I was annoyed because the sauna area was closed during the evening of my stay, it was great and quiet in the morning.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night in August. The front desk staff were very friendly and polite - always smiling. I like the room as well. Nice, clean and cosy. There was also a good selection of English TV channels. Breakfast was superb too.

Great value for the money; very central location

Basically as the title says, with the room, and breakfast, great value for money and the staff were friendly. Location is great: opposite the bus station (handy if you come by bus from Tallinn's airport), and it's a short walk along the river to the town square. A note for other travellers: if you fly via Helsinki, see if you can get a flight straight to Tartu.

When going to a new country and a town in the far flung corners of that country you are often concerned about the quality of hotels etc.
Hotel Tartu could not have been more helpful and welcoming. I emailed to say we would be arriving very late (03:00 am) and had a reassuring reply that the desk was manned 24/7 and they looked forward to welcoming us. Check in was a bit long-winded but receptionist spoke good English. Although there was a fridge of drinks behind counter the receptionist did not know how or if he could sell any; so tap water had to do. A small point but after a long journey a bottle of 'pop' would have been nice.
Breakfast was a bit mixed, not my taste for the hot but croissants were good as was the coffee.
The room was clean, not huge but adequate. the shower and toilet were designed in 'wet-room' format so you needed to make sure you didn't get wet socks if you went in after a shower!
Overall pleasant and I would definately stay there again.

Både jag och min kollega fick matförgiftning av frukosten så istället för att sitta i planerade möten en halvdag satt vi i varsin toalett på jobbet och spydde. Gällande städningen fanns det många stora silverfiskar i badrummet vilket inte var trevligt att gå in till....

Hotelli sijaitsi hyvällä paikalla. Lyhyt kävelymatka kaupoille ja vanhaan kaupunkiin. Hotelli vanhahko mutta siisti. Aamupala ok. Huoneessa ei ollut pullovesiä kuten useissa hotelleissa on. Huone siivotaan vain pyynnöstä. Aamusauna ja kylmä suihku kivat. Vain ylsi sauna käytettävissä. Poreallas ei meitä miellyttänyt oli huono istua ja vettä liian vähän. Huoneen lämpötilaa ei saa säädettyä, joten ikkunaa auki pitämällä sai vähän viilennystä.

Nice hotel, uninterested staff with poor service

The hotel is nice but the staff was not interested in us as guests. No one greeted us when we arrived, said welcome, asked how our stay was or even looked at us. Totally anonymous. I felt rather unwelcome and I got a feeling that we were more of a trouble to them, rather than a customer.

The hotel was good itself, but we will not come back given our experince the staff. Soviet era attitude!

Kaikenkaikkiaan positiivinen kolmen yön vierailu. Sijainti on hyvä.
Huone oli siisti, suihkun paine on aina se mikä jää mieleen niin hyvässä kuin pahassa. Ja melkoisen matalalla paineella viidennessä kerroksessa kyllä lirputeltiin.

Ympäristön äänet ei juurikaan huoneeseen kantautuneet, eikä tarvinnut murehtia autosta eikä sen kyydissä olleista polkupyöristä. Joille oli pääoven vieressä myös hyvät runkotelineet. Sähköpyörän latausmahdollisuutta en kysynyt.

Aamiainen oli perushyvä, mutta ravintola on melko pieni hotellin kokoon nähden.

Hotelli on linja-autoasemaa vastapäätä, kahden kauppakeskuksen lähellä ja kävelymatkan päässä vanhan kaupungin keskustasta.
Huoneet ovat tilavat ja siistit. Jääkaappia tai hiustenkuivaajaa ei ole, muuten ihan ok hotelli työmatkalle. Aamiainen on aika tavanomainen, mukava lisä ovat paikalliset leivonnaiset, Aamiaisravintola palvelee myös kahvilana, josta saa edullisesti voileipiä ja leivonnaisia.

Olimme toiveikkaita että aiemmat epäkohdat olisi parantuneet,mutta ennallaan olivat.
-vuoteet ryhdittömän pehmeät kuten tyynytkin (itselläni aina oma tyyny mukana).
-aamiaisella lämpimät ruuat vain lievästi haaleita vaikka olimme heti avautumisen jälkeen aterialla
