Highly recommended in a local neighbourhood

Fantastic hotel in a quieter local neighbourhood slightly further inland. We booked our trip fairly late and didn’t want to pay the higher prices in the historic centre but Hotel Zenit is both walkable and has good bus links to the centre and coast. Staff were brilliant and an issue with the safe was sorted in less than 15 mins. Room itself was comfortable and modern with good air con and storage, as well as a fridge/mini bar. We also liked the cafes and bakeries nearby, as well as handy for supermarkets for water and snacks.

A comfortable hotel with typical European smallish rooms. Staff were very helpful. The number 1 bus stop was only 150 metres away. Restaurant was closed on Saturday and Sunday nights but there is a nice restaurant just down from the bus stop. A supermarket, bakery and several fruit shops were just around the corner. Only downside was some of the breakfasts where the eggs were cold.

We loved the attention of all staff members. Taxi from the docks was great. All were very helpful in things that we may have needed. We loved learning about a different culture.

The room is comfortable, though some noises/talking on the hallway me be heard.

Public transportation is available closely to access the city's monuments/beach (Malagueta is awesome!)

Lovely stay, but the fine print

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful in all we needed, rooms were as described and comfy. The only small drawback was parking as website during booking shown it's available, but you would have to scroll all the way to the fine print to find out that it will cost you 17 EUR a day. We still took advantage of that and not a big deal in grand scheme of things. However, I would appreciate if this was communicated clearly on the front page rather than sneakily hidden. Still, a great stay, though.

The smiling and helpful receptionist Edwardo was a great first impression for our 3 nights stay. Everything in the hotel was great except the location was not the best. it is not far from the centre but the neighborhood is a bit dated. However, The positive thing about the location is the market is just steps away, paid parking parking next door and laundry facilities 10 minutes walk. Over all was a great stay.

Beautiful hotel very close to old town, bus stops and hop on hop bus very close. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. City center is at a little distance, but taxi's are available around the corner and are not expensive. There is no Airport shuttle to the hotel. Taxi or bus is the option. Hotel can arrange taxi to the airport , not expensive. I will certainly stay in this hotel next time.

Great location on a quiet street. Near a bus route and a taxi rank, and a nice 15 minute stroll to the city centre. Only issue was the breakfast, supposedly 'hot items' were at best warm, and the coffee isn't great. however, the rooms are lovely and I would definitely stay here again.

My friend and I had to change rooms because of a pest issue. I was bitten, and called promptly. The night staff inspected, and nearly accused me of bringing the vermin thought I had only arrived hours before and had not slept in the bed. I was very disappointed by that. They did apologize overall and changed our room immediately.

Good spacious twin room and bathroom always cleaned spotlessly. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel is in a quiet cul de sac with no traffic noise. Useful to have a safe. Friendly reception staff and the manager in particular was very helpful with advice and transfer arrangements. The hotel is quite a walk (uphill coming back) from the nearest main tourist/eating area (Placa de la Merced) although there are good local cafes for breakfast and it is on a bus route into the centre. The misleading photo on the Expedia page for this hotel showed a roof terrace and we were anticipating enjoying sun-downers there after full days...however...it doesn't exist.
Being able to leave luggage in the store before our departure was useful as was the generous midday vacating of the room.

Had a five night stay at the Zenit hotel, from the beginning staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room size is excellent with a spacious well equipped bathroom. Very nice to have a window in a hotel room that opens for fresh air. Would recommend the option of breakfast as so much variety and as much as you like buffet, off to a great start. Location is excellent, just a 15 minute easy walk to the port, and there are local shops for anything that you may have forgotten. There are also bus routes close, if preferred. The cleanliness of the room and hotel generally, is second to none, I am fussy and could not fault.
Very happy that I chose this hotel to stay at, and will return next time in Malaga.

A functional, clean and comfortable hotel. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. The hotel is about a (leisurely) 20 minute walk from the port. The area is a sub-urban area which appeared to be safe (at all hours). A good base for exploring Malaga. The buffet breakfast was excellent. A brilliant range of foods and very fresh! Well worth getting the breakfast.

We stayed for 15 nights. At the beginning we did not get the balcony room we asked for, but after 6 days we were moved to a balcony room which was lovely. The wash hand basin pipes broke after a day in the new room but it was fixed the next day with all new parts.

This is a decent hotel. The receptionist who greeted us was friendly and efficient.

The room was small, but the bathroom was large and had a bathtub. The room was clean. Did not have breakfast. No parking at hotel, but is available at a garage around the corner for 17 euros a day.

The area is mainly residential with some shops and cafes. It is about a 15 minute walk into the city center.

All in all, a fair choice if you dint mind being a little out of the main town.

Very nice, helpful staff, fair price, clean and comfortable. They need to work better with the cabs there because I took a 15 minute cab ride from hotel to the airport - and the cab absolutely robbed me for over $40 US!! This affects and reflects poorly on the hotel experience.

Quiet hotel a little out of the city centre

We loved the quiet location of the hotel. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful and spoke good English. It is a 20 min walk down hill into the centre of the town and a bit of a drag up again. There are buses that are frequent and cheap but we used taxis for the trip up on two occasions and found the cost to be under 6 Euro.
The room was not large although the beds were massive and the bathroom was spacious and spotless.
The air conditioning was most welcome at night.
The construction of the hotel means that there is very little internal noise and we slept well.
