We had a lovely stay. Couldn’t fault the room and feel of the place. Only slight points to be noted was, it would have been great to have food served around the pool, and to have more vegetables / healthy options, with breakfast. But these were tiny adjustments, in an otherwise brilliant location. Thank you

The perfect experience in heart of Marrakesh

My husband and I stayed at Hotel 72 when visiting Marrakesh for my birthday, and the experience here was incredible and made our trip so special. Every single person working here from the manager to the waitstaff to the front desk was so helpful and kind. The room we had (it was the suite) was beautifully decorated and very clean. Every evening the staff came in for turn down service left the sweetest treats. They even took the time to celebrate my birthday which happened on the trip. Also, the location is so convenient on the heart of the Medina, and you can easily walk to many locations. I would highly recommend!

A truly wonderful hotel, team and location, a special place. Mohammed and the team arranged fantastic trips for us, which had been meticulously planned with excellent guides, timings and attention to detail. From the moment you check in, the service is 5 star - personal and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is in a fantastic location, the setting is outstanding whether it’s for dinner or by the roof top pool. Myself and my wife have been fortunate enough to travel the world in many fantastic hotels, this is certainly one of the best. I couldn’t recommend the hotel and staff enough, a brilliant place. Don’t stay anywhere else.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and first impressions were really good on arrival with a welcome drink and explanation of the area. Located in a quieter part of town but good access to the souks and taxis etc.

The pool area is nice but with limited loungers (I think the pool was maybe open to non-residents) so it made it a bit difficult sometimes to get a lounger.

The room was okay (Ground floor) but the only windows pointed onto a shared courtyard thus no privacy so we had to have the curtains drawn a lot, so as a consequence it was always dark in the room.

The sky lounge on the roof top is a bit misleading as we went up at about 7pm to get a drink and it shut. There is an inside bar on the way up to the roof top which was supposed to open at night, but on both occasions we went there it wasn’t manned.

Not clear on booking that it was a ‘dry venue’ not uncommon in Marrakesh but maybe should have been clearer.

Breakfast was nice, although quite wasteful as you get a lot of pastries, bread, pancakes and cakes automatically put on your table- it’s a bit of a carb overload and you just can’t possibly eat it all. If you wanted water at breakfast you had to pay the equivalent of £5 per bottle.

WiFi went down a few times, and we seemed to get power cuts on a regular basis at night.

Was a nice stay, but not sure I would rush back as it was quite expensive, but looking a little tired in places.

The 72 Riad was located a very short distance from the Bacha coffee which was pointless as we couldn’t get in 3 days in a row. The area was peaceful but we did have to walk a fair distance to nice restaurants and sigh seeing areas but we like walking so it was fine for us. The riad was beautiful and we used the spa which was also amazing.
The staff was kind and attentive also .
However our experience with the manager was not good and definitely not to the standard of the riad.
We arranged transfer to and from the riad. The charge for this doubled at check from 250mad to 500mad baring in mind we were only 20 min away. I emailed the manager to ask whether fast track was necessary this time of the year ( Feb 11th) as there was a lot of scaremongering online. She advised that this was imperative. She quoted us 2200mad which I thought was very high. When I asked if this was both ways she said it was. Firstly the airport was empty and very quiet so we didn’t need it at all. When we arrived at the airport we had no fast track facility. We asked at the fast track desk and we was not on the list. The lady manning the desk told us this service would have cost us 660 mad each!
The manager ripped us off and would have charged us 4400mad for fast track. She also tried to charge us £386 for the atlas mountain. We paid £59 for both of us for 2 more areas and lunch: she also quoted us double for the balloon ride and we declined.
The locals were lovely be more wary of managers in riads.

Where does one begin? We had an amazing 4 days in Riad 72. It is such a beautifully designed property. It’s gorgeous. Nice local cultural heritage and at the same time modern and very tastefully designed. We had the room with roof terrace and jacauzzi. Totally recommend. But above and beyond the hardware is the software. The people were wonderful. From the owner / manager (the Italian lady) to the reception to the restaurant staff to the porters and cleaners, everyone was so sincere and nice and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for the customised and personalised service. Will come back.

I was told my some locals that Riad 72 has the best food in the neighbourhood. And y attest to that. Great food and good price

Location was perfect. Near enough to all the sights and shoppping but away from the bustle and bustle. Perfect balance.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful Riad, it was the perfect place to relax after the business of the Medina.

Staff were super helpful and nice, breakfast was incredible (it changed every day, loved all the pastries!). We also enjoyed sunbathing by the pool in the rooftop :). There is another pool in the ground floor but it was closed during our stay due to renovations.

Having the option to use the spa facilities it’s also a big plus and you can organise day trips and transport in the hotel.

I found our room in the ground floor a bit dark and narrow, but overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it!

Amazing Riad !!

All the Staff here are super friendly, they couldn’t have done more to make our stay great. The location is perfect for exploring Marrakesh, it’s a very close walk to the medina and to the main taxi point, the surrounding area felt completely safe. The Riad is much bigger than it looks and has two pools and a spa. The pool areas are real luxury with plenty of large sun beds and towels. Our room was lovely and each day we were given a varied breakfast that set us up for the day. I would 100% recommend this hotel.

This is the most wonderful Riad within the Medina .It is a oasis of tranquillity from the hustle and bustle of the medina. The staff were exceptional throughout the stay. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept on for a long time. Having a private terrace was a bonus although all the public areas were lovely.The location was great for walking to the Souks, new city and most attractions. The dining experience was good ,personally I would prefer the food to be served hotter than it actually was but it didn't stop us eating dinner at the Riad twice during our stay and the staff reacted quickly when I asked for my meal to be heated up. I would definitely recommend 72 Riad Living and would stay here again when in Marrakesh.

Truly gorgeous riad in a great, quite location. Excellent rooftop. We had booked our stay with 72 Riad Living the week Covid shut everything down and it was too late to cancel. Stefania at 72 Riad Living was so gracious and helpful in allowing us to rebook our stay when we were ready paying only the difference in room price from our original stay. It was a long road for us to get to Marrakech, so we were super grateful for their understanding and patience. The grounds of the hotel are beyond gorgeous, picture perfect and relaxing. The staff was helpful in booking us an excellent educational walking tour with Latif who was extremely knowledgeable and seemed to be the Mayor of Marrakech knowing everyone along the way.

My only complaint would be about our room. We were booked for a Deluxe Room XL but were giving a Deluxe room called Manha. It was quite a dark room, and very noisy from the kitchen below. Clanking dishes and music starting early in the morning and into the evening. We only stayed 2 nights, so didn't want to bother with changing rooms, but I would warn other travelers about this room and recommend you do not get it.

Just had a wonderful stay here, amazing staff, stunning location. Very close to some amazing restaurants. Rooftop is stunning. My only single gripe was they had no sun brollies for the sun beds, but the exclusive out of bounds private areas did. (And no-one used them). Being a pale Englishman a shade over the lounger is essential. Food was amazing and was very sad to leave.

It was by far the nicest Riad we stayed in Marrakech. The service was exceptional for Morocco. The only very small drawback was our room faced the courtyard where dinner is served every night so you can hear the music and guests until quite late. We could eat breakfast anywhere in the hotel so we decided to have it just outside our room each morning, as we were out all day we ate dinner in the Riad every night which was excellent quality and reasonably priced, a wine list, great cocktails and fresh juices. One of the best hammams is around the corner but we were too lazy to leave and booked a hammam for 2 in the small hotel hammam. It was the bare minimum but the scrub was just what we needed after hiking in imlil all day.

5* home away from home. beautiful Medina hideaway. Stephanie - the manager and all the staff are very kind and helpful. they gave us all the tips and trick to survive in the crazy Medina. rooms are unique and very comfy with beautiful design. for our dates they had only classic room available but next time we will go for higher category as we spotted the suites are amazing. make sure you book in advance. Delicious brekkie. Love chilling in the evenings on the red patio. Do use their airport transfer to connect swiftly as taxi won't get you to the doors and medina streets are pretty difficult to navigate.

The hospitality of the \"Riad 72 Living\" was excellent, my guest and I had breakfast on our private rooftop as well as dinner ... They made a point to meet us at the curb to take our bags the few blocks to the hotel... the general manager made a point to show us all around the city map so we knew where to go.

All in all, I would love to come back.

The Riad was fantastic. Old world charm with all the modern amenities. Rooms, linens, etc., were all great.

But what really set this property apart was the service. Everything from checkin to checkout was meticulously taken care of by the Riad72 staff. Reservations, suggestions, hammam/massage and most importantly really making our 8 year old feel included;)

Can’t wait to come back to Riad72 and can’t recommend it enough for anyone venturing to Marrakesh.

Towels were like hard rugs, water pressure was a bit weak, and breakfast consisted only of bread, a small cup of fruit slices, orange juice, coffee, and some yogurt. Other than that, everything was perfect. Staff were super friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate your needs. This former traditional home was BEAUTIFUL and filled with so many architectural details. The roof deck was spectacular and so relaxing at night. Lots of nooks and crannies where you can simply sit down, relax, and absorb the natural beauty of Morocco’s culture. Location was superb as you can walk to Jemaa El Fna and all see all the traditional small shops along the way. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Marrakech!

There is a wonderful roof terrace with beautiful views across the city, with excellent bar service. We would recommend this Riad and they are planning to put in a swimming pool.

The Riad was lovely and there were some really thoughtful details - such as the room mobile, which was really helpful for navigation - but sadly the breakfast experience was such that I would not recommend staying here. We stayed for 2 days and on both days it took >40 minutes for breakfast to arrive - which is hard considering that there is no buffet or choices, they just bring an assortment of bread and cakes and coffee to your table. Considering the high price tag I would have assumed that there would be a choice of foods for breakfast, that service would be quicker and that you wouldn't get charged extra if you wanted to have a second pot of coffee (?!?)

Road 72 is a beautiful building, carefully refurbished to combine Marrakesk charm with a wonderful comfortable environment. It is in a very safe part of the old town with security controlled entrance but is also in easy walking distance of all the sights. The food is excellent, and the roof terrace is beautiful. We had a great stay.

Very nice riad with very friendly, helpful staff. Didn't think the food was the best in the restaurant, in fact was or worst meal in the 4 days, and biggest gripe was no alcohol. I know it's a Muslim country but other places do sell it so why don't they for Western visitors? The owner/head of the riad is a trendy French lady so we were perplexed as to why no alcohol. We'd have spent more time in the early evening in the riad and lovely hotel rooftop if we could have had a bottle of wine. As it was we spent time in the room and left as soon as it was time to go for a meal. Also, DO NOT buy the alcohol free Becks that they advertise on their drinks menu. It is £3.75 and IS NOT what they advertise. It's a drink called Bavaria, is a 'malt drink'with a sticker strategically placed over the ingredients and is absolutely DISGUSTING which repeats on you all night. Should not be advertised as Becks.

We were absolutely blown away by the beauty and hospitality of Riad 72. Everything from airport transfer, to an elegant arrival complete with delicious mint tea and pastries and personal greeting from the lovely owner, to our gorgeous room and meals at their on-site restaurant was absolutely incredible. We felt so welcome, and so comfortable; a truly priceless experience. They even provide a detailed map that proved to be a lifesaver during our wanders around the neighborhood. The location is perfect as well; taxi pickup/dropoff is super convenient, and everything else is easily walkable for most people. When we come back to Marrakech, I will be thrilled to book Riad 72 again.

Oh my, we loved this hotel. Prior to our arrival, Stefania was exceptionally helpful in arranging tours, transportation, and answering questions about our stay via email. We arrived to the same warm and welcoming spirit--hand washing, tea and pastries, and an overview of the area.

The hotel is so lovely, full of charm and Moroccan influence, but modern at the same time. We enjoyed breakfast each morning [included in the room rate], as well as dinner on the rooftop our first night and lunch in the courtyard on our last day. The food was always fresh and flavorful. We also took advantage of the on-site hammam and massage services--the hammam was an experience to say the least [I'll leave it to you to Google the details!] but a great one and the massage was fantastic.

Service was top-notch, with everyone eager to help and Stefania always available for questions or to take care of last minute requests. I highly recommend having her coordinate a tour with one of the city guides--we did that our first day [6hrs for about $70] and it was an excellent way to get the lay of the land, as well as some history and an introduction to the souk.

I would stay at Riad 72 again in a heartbeat, and will enthusiastically recommend it to anyone I know travelling to Marrakech! Thank you Stefania for the perfect home away from home in Marrakech.

The riad itself is a beautiful calm and restfull place right within the souks and medina area. The riad is gorgeous and the staff and service were outstanding. The Hamman and massage is an experience well worth opting for too if you have the time and such amazing value! I would recommend Riad 72 to any of my friends - Stefania and her team really do make it a home from home. 10/10

We arrived early at the Riad because of our early morning flight from the U.K. and were greeted with light refreshments and a warm welcome which was lovely because of the long wait at the airport. We were explained everything about the Riad, breakfast, souks, Riad policy’s, everything by Stefania including a mobile phone for emergencies. We were able to check in straight away too which was a bonus considering we arrived at 11 and check in wasn’t until 2. The room we had was the only one in the Riad with an upstairs that lead us to our own private terrace which was amazing. We had a beautiful view of the Koutoubia Mosque and surrounding area. Breakfast was fresh fruit with yoghurt and a small selection of bread/pastries each morning with fresh orange juice or tea/coffee/cappuccino. A nice healthy breakfast. We had lunch up on the terrace which was lovely too, after eating couscous and tagine for 3 days straight we needed something different and the Riad 72 burger was juicy with bread and a tasty dip for starters. We did not have dinner at the Riad so I cannot comment on that but we did have the hamman and massage which was great. A Moroccan lady who was sweet and funny. My partner and I had a great Hamman experience with her which I still laugh about even after we have come home. Tip make sure to drink plenty of water before you have the Hamman. The massage after was great too after a lot of walking my feet were hurting and they spent a good amount of time massaging the feet.

Road 72 is a beautiful place with excellent service in a perfect location. We booked two rooms both very well furnished creating an authentic atmosphere. The breakfast and dinners are well prepared and served and a delight to eat. The perfect location to visit both the old and newer parts of Marrakesh.

Riad 72, Perfectly positioned inside the medina

We had an amazing stay at Riad 72. Everything was perfected just for us upon arrival (which was very late, due to flight delays). We were welcomed with tea and pastries, to settle us in. My fiancee and I stayed for 4 nights, as a birthday treat for him and we loved every minute. Stefania and her team are all so freindly and welcoming, we were treated like family! Nothing was too much trouble, including advice on where to go and what to see, arranging tours, taxi's and anyhting else you needed whilst staying. The waiting and housekeeping team were also ever professional and always friendly and smiling. Our every need was catered for perfectly.

One of the days when we had taken a walking tour around the Medina (highly recommend), we came back to the hotel and had lunch on the gorgeous roof terrace. The food was wonderful and the sun loungers and seating avaialable allowed us to enjoy a drink in the sunshine.

A pleasure to stay here, we will definitely be back

Not as good as the website promised. The aim of the manageress is to get you to have hammans and go on their arranged trips. I was given a room that was on split levels (2 meters in height between bedroom and wardrobe) Not sensible for a 70 year old (although it was ok for me). Minor irritations - no shower cap and a shower base of stone with tiled floor (very slippy). The menu was 3X the price of elsewhere and not particularly good (but I only had dinner once). However the bed was good and the staff very nice. It was also close to the centre

Truly an amazing place!

Riad 72 is an excellent property! Staying at the Riad is like coming home at the end of a busy day. Upon arrival you are greeted with mint tea and cookies in courtyard. At night, it becomes magical with just enough light. The courtyard brings the outside inside. We had dinner their the first night which was delicious (Lamb Tanjia, Chicken Tagine, Moroccon Vegetables and Chocolate Mousse). They were mindful of the fact that I have food allergies and all of the staff were informed. Each morning, we could have breakfast either on the roof terrace or in the courtyard. The terrace was very romantic. Breakfast consisted of fresh yogurt, strawberries and bananas and pastry. Asma was our server at breakfast. The first morning, she knew me by face and knew of my allergies. I didn't have to worry about anything. At breakfast they made me eggs due to the fact that I could not eat the pastry. When it was time for bed the room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff is like the staff at a 5 star hotel. They are all amazing!!! Stefania and Medhi are both incredibly helpful and accommodating. They planned all of our guides and day trips from the Riad. In addition, Stefania and Medhi went out of their way to help us get a day trip to Rabat from Casablanca. This was above and beyond our expectations. Truly an amazing place!

Luxury Riad in the heart of the Medina

This Riad is magical.
Upon arrival, the staff is at your service letting you pick out your soap fragrance, filling you in about the area, answering any questions you may have, and serving mint tea.
The staff made us feel at home throughout our stay, constantly asking if there was anything else we needed.
Our room was more like an apartment. It had a huge sitting area, spacious bedroom, bathroom with double vanity, bath and shower, and extra walk-in closet.
The details were exquisite and the design was perfect. Loved seeing the amazing Moroccan style in every detail of the room.
Breakfast was loveley. Fresh squeezed orange juice, 5 types of bread with cheese, jam, and butter. Fruit and yogurt as well. Everything very fresh
We had hammam and dinner the last night (which takes 6 hours to cook). It was amazing. Hammam was a great experience and dinner was incredible.
Only thing to note is that our room was off the main courtyard. At times, we had to close the shutters for some privacy, but then the room got a bit stuffy. Next time I’d ask for a room that wasn’t off the main courtyard, but it didn’t affect our stay too much.
The location is walking distance from everything in the Médina, and really close to taxis should you want to get out of town. We had a fabulous time and this Riad was everything we wanted and more. We loved it!

Charming and Exceptionally Comfortable

My boyfriend and I booked Riad 72 for our first trip to Marrakech - so we didn't really have a good understanding of the concept of the Moroccan riad or the differences from a typical hotel. After our trip, we are convinced that staying at a riad was the way to go and that Riad 72 was the cream of the crop. The common areas are even more gorgeous than pictured online and our suite was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. When compared with our lodgings in others cities in country, Riad 72 had by far the most local flavor and charm. The riad is tucked away into an alley near Bab Doukkala so it was centrally located (easy walking distance) for all sightseeing in the Medina but still far enough away from the more chaotic souks to be quiet and relaxing. More than anything else, the staff were wonderful and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience in Marrakech. We booked a hammam at the riad and it was wonderful and competitively priced compared to some of the other spas in the city. We also enjoyed breakfasts and a couple of dinners at the riad and they were delicious.

Do yourself a favor, stay here.

WOW!! stay here if in Marrakesh

We cannot rave about this place enough. Stefania, the manager, and her entire team were spectacular. This is really close to all of the action but tucked away so quiet in the evenings. Their recommendations were fantastic. We did not have to do a thing. They set up our day trip with lovely people, made recommendations for wonderful restaurants and we have never had the pleasure to meet nicer people anywhere in the world. if any company would like to teach their employees customer service, I would highly recommend this Riad. I have worked for a company with a extremely high reputation for service and this defines above and beyond. the complimentary breakfast was so fresh and delicious every morning. we got to enjoy the rooftop for a little bit and beautiful views.(little chilly while we were there)

Wonderful experience at Riad 72!

What a lovely place to stay in the Medina of Marrakech! Great location; just a 10 min walk to reach the start of the souks and a 15min walk to the main square (Jemma El'Fna). Although like most Riads in that area they are hard to find and is a bit of a maze, once you learn the route inside it is easy to get in and out, and you realise the area is very safe and surrounded by friendly folk. The Riad is extremely pleasant inside and the staff were the most hospitable I have experienced anywhere. They were always very welcoming, greeted with genuine smiles and ensured that we had everything we needed.
We stayed in a standard non-suite room which was nice, despite the 'bathroom' not having a door, it was nicely decorated with an authentic Moroccan theme. Breakfast was a delight with lots of pastries, fruit, yogurt, tea/coffee and eggs to order. Highly recommended!

This is by far the best hotel/Riad I've ever stayed in. Stefania and co are the best, the service is second to none. The room is wonderful, the rooftop is amazing. Everything about this place is magical. Marrakech could get a little hectic especially for new travelers. But it was very refreshing to know that we can always go back to Riad 72 to relax and enjoy some quite and luxury.
