I had an amazing experience at the Wyndham Alltra Samaná All‑Inclusive Resort. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and well cared for. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests have a great stay.

The property itself is beautiful—well‑maintained grounds, relaxing pool areas, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. My room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. The food and drinks were consistently enjoyable, and the service throughout the resort was excellent.

What stood out most was the warmth and professionalism of the team. Their hospitality elevated the entire experience and made my stay feel special.

As a small suggestion, it would be great to see a designated party area with a more modern, youthful music selection for the live DJ—something that still respects the family‑friendly environment but offers a later‑night option for guests who want to dance and enjoy a lively atmosphere responsibly.

I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable getaway in the Dominican Republic. I look forward to returning.

One of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. The hotel was clearly not prepared to operate properly.
On several days there were major issues, including power outages, no air conditioning (even after electricity was restored), and no internet access. These are basic services and were repeatedly unavailable.
There were also frequent shortages of simple items like butter and diet drinks, which reflected poor organization and management.
To make things worse, some staff members were not helpful or friendly. Overall, a very disappointing experience and not something I would recommend at all.

Our stay was truly amazing! The atmosphere at the hotel was wonderful, everything was spotless, and the food was delicious — while the selection wasn’t huge, every dish we tried was excellent.
All the staff were outstanding and made our holiday very enjoyable, with one unfortunate exception. On several occasions, the gentleman in the towel hut (wearing a red shirt, name Wilson) was quite rude. We had been staying for 4 days and had never managed to get beach towels, as we usually came to collect them closer to noon. Each time we were told to “come back in 15 minutes,” but the situation never changed.
When we asked Wilson to call a manager, he responded impolitely and told us to find one ourselves. We did, and the manager (a very kind lady from the front desk) immediately resolved the issue — it turned out towels were available all along.
Apart from this single negative experience with Wilson, every other aspect of our stay was excellent. The hotel itself is fantastic — beautiful rooms, great food, and a lovely overall vibe. This was my first visit to the Dominican Republic, and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a trip!

Room was with beautiful ocean view, clean and comfy. The resort staff is very friendly.The options of food were great. The beach is beautiful and very clean. There were lots of corrals not far from the beach for nice snorkeling. However, I suggest to wear special costumes. In some places waters are shallow, and there are lots of sea urchins. Great place for kids. Amazing excursions!

More shampoo and conditioner was needed in the room. Also took for ever and multiple calls to the front desk to bring items to room. However the 1st night they were quick in bring extra towels to the room. Wish more then one restaurant was available to dine in. Everything else was great.

This cozy resort is beautifully tucked between the lush mountains of Samaná and the stunning shores of Las Galeras Beach. The rooms, grounds, and pool areas were all well maintained, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay.

The buffet could benefit from more variety, especially for guests staying multiple days. Likewise, the bars would be more appealing if they featured a broader selection of well-known liquors and highlighted more of the exceptional local rum brands—some of which truly rival the best.

Staff were consistently friendly and attentive, adding a warm touch to the overall experience.

If I could rate it 3.5 stars, I would. Since that’s not an option, I settled on 3—but with just a few thoughtful upgrades, this property could easily reach 4.5 stars. It clearly has great bones, and like many places still recovering post-pandemic, a little investment could go a long way.

The toilet did not looked clean when we got there, I never mentioned it. They don’t have after hour food, so if you’re hungry yes you would have to go outside. The water was out for hours on the day we were leaving. Didn’t really have night entertainment like other resorts. It’s a little outdated for its cost.

We had a great time!! The staff was exceptional. The property and beach is like nothing I have ever seen. The food was good. The only problem that we encountered was with the electricity in our room and around the property. We couldn’t plug things in the bathroom because it was cause for the room to lose electricity. Thankfully the breaker box was inside our room and was easily restored.
Other than that (which I hope they fix) it was great! Shout out to the employees who made it a great experience.

La propiedad está limpia,las habitaciones son amplias,los trabajadores son amistosos,la playa está buena PERO LA COMIDA ES PÉSIMA.En Travelocity dice q tiene 4 o 6 restaurantes y TODOS ESTÁN CERRADOS.Fuimos un grupo de 16 personas,un niño de 6 años (alérgico)tuvo q comer arroz blanco solamente en dos ocasiones porque no había pollo.Daniel tuvo q tomar un taxi x $30 para salir y comprar un pernil de cerdo asado en $50 ,también compró queso blanco enfrente del hotel,es vergonzoso,el menú en el buffet en la cena es limitado (5-6 platos),la elaboración inadecuada,las frutas no siempre son frescas,ensaladas escasas,panes viejos,dulces llenos de moscas .Hable con el administrador WILSON ,dijo q están en reparación,q había muy pocos clientes,cosa q NO ES MI ASUNTO,no me importa,y me ofrecieron un paquete de bebidas premium,yo le dije q eso no era la solución,q me devolviera el $ para abandonar la instalación ya q no estaba preparada para ofrecer servicios e hizo caso omiso,le manifesté el descontento del grupo por la falta de comida y q me sentía ENGAÑADA Y ESTAFADA .Yo he visitado este país en más de 10 ocasiones y es la primera vez que me sucede semejante TRAGEDIA,esta mala experiencia no quisiera que otra persona la viviera .EVITE SER ESTAFADO .ESTE HOTEL NO TIENE CONDICIONES PARA ESTAR FUNCIONANDO DEBIDO A QUE LA COMIDA ES POBRE

El hotel esta bastante nuevo. Las habitacion son buenas y limpias. El staff es increible. Todos tan amables y cordiales. La playa es de las mas lindas que he visto en mi vida. La unica queja es la variedad en la comida. Fuimos en temporada baja y al haber pocos huespedes bajan la contidad de la comida asi que preparense para poca variedad y opciones de comida. El sabor es rico y el desayuno es decente. Lo mas malo es la cena. No se si en temporada alta (Octubre a Marzo) sea mejor la comida.

Great resort remodel and some building still under restoration, the beach is amazing, clean, calm and beautiful, the pools were great too.
We hated the food and the very limited options, they are trying to save money on not providing almost no protein only carbs and cheap food, they won’t accommodate allergies so if you have an allergy stay away, the chef is horrible so the very limited, we would not be back, it’s sad because we loved the beach.

Misled by Expedia with a Punta Cana vacation package that was not in Punta Cana. Both parties blamed each other. Needless to say, there was no relocation to the same brand Punta Cana hotel. No one would cover the huge additional transportation costs, removing over ten hours of vacation time. The hotel was a five-hour drive from the airport each way.

The hotel location was beautiful. The rooms were adequate. The food was okay, definitely not what was expected. It was advertised as having five dining venues, but one was fully closed. The Italian and Local fare restaurants were only open on alternate days and the buffet was mostly local fare. The last one more of a lunch spot and not open for dinner had advertised salads, pizzas, burgers, and gyros. It only had pizza and burgers.

A little disappointed in the first trip to the DR.

The property was beautiful, there were only 2 restaurants open out of the 4 or 5 restaurants they have listed. The evening activities were minimal during the month of April. The beach was gorgeous and the water was so clear. The property was well kept and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again.

I smoke cigards, they have only four or five places in the property that you can smoke. There is a sign and a metal ashtray and you stand next to it., they don't have even a chair to sit down and enjoy. You have to be standing next to other people in plain view of the bar like you are a kid in time out. I understand the separate area but they made it very unpleasant. They have cero activities for teenagers., went I tried to go with my 16 years old son to the gym to entertain him we couldn't do it because he was not 18. Totally absurd if you have your parent with you.

I've consistently chosen this resort, but they refused my request for a credit during a family emergency, which was very disappointing.

We love it ! , this hotel is Beautiful , the beach, the food , the drinks we had a very good time , shoutout to nidia at the pool she serve the best drinks and she is so friendly and Francisco at the restaurant he is very nice and friendly thank you we will back soon !!

What was good about this resort was is wasn't very crowded, the pool was good, and it was very quiet at night. The staff were all very nice. The bad was the food. The food was inedible. Very limited options where to eat. Our first room didnt have air conditioning working, but luckily they moved us right next door right away. The beach loungers did not have a single umbrella, so if you wanted to go to the beach, all you had was the sun. My daughter enjoyed the kids club, at least. But the food was truly awful.

Able to relax, mostly.

- Beautiful, private beach
- loud noises in room, not just the fan. No water pressure for shower. Flush was broken. TV service broke down at one point. Flickering lights. Had to change room once, and the other room was pretty much the same.
- Some very friendly and helpful staff (Front desk and concierge), but restaurant staff was picky about where you sit, even though there were no signs and plenty of seats.
- Food was neither quality nor variety. Mostly seafood, beef, pork, pasta, and starches. Desserts were bland and tasted the same. We worried about food handling as well, and some labels were incorrect. There were themes for each dinner, but the food ended up being very similar. The bread was great, though!
- We checked in pretty late, so they had a sandwich and yoghurt in our room for us.
- ATM was broken, though it took our credit. We ended up having to go to the bank in town, and are still disputing the charge.
- The Japanese restaurant never opened, even though there were signs and it was on the activity sheet. We couldn't even see what building it would be in.
- The hotel was friendly in correspondence, but recommended a transportation company that way over-charged compared to taxis, and the staff even showed us the taxi prices.
- Went in low-season (mid/late January), so it wasn't too busy. No people rushing to reserve the beach chairs.
- The beach was amazing, but there were stray dogs that would beg you for food if you brought it to the beach chairs.
