Pros: elegant hotel in a beautiful setting; courteous, well-trained staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and sent us a gift when they learned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary; our room was large and comfortable and had a balcony with a view of the harbor. Cons: we have stayed at many all-inclusives, and the food here was a real disappointment; some dishes were quite tasty, and the fruit at breakfast generous, but other selections were mediocre at best. The meal at the Mediterranean a la carte restaurant was hardly recognizable as such and was barely edible. Additional wait staff are needed, too. Food services in a four-star hotel should be at the same level as the rest of the services.

The room is spacious and the lobby is pretty. The location has an amazing night time view from the terrace. The buffet was ok and the Dominican restaurant was very good. They don’t have water bottles at the restaurants or buffet so you have to bring your own either you buy bottles from outside or bring the ones included in your room fridge. The resort itself has no activities aside from the pool, the beach and a nightly show on the terrace. The shows are loud and you will hear the music really loud in your room until about 11:30pm the pool water is not heated and the hot tub basically has cold water in it too. The beach is public and the water was so dirty. Floating food, cans and bottles among other things. Our toilet had to get repaired because it would not flush, the soap bottle glued to the wall fell off with one pump and the safe deposit box did not want to lock. The shower door is useless and water falls all over the floor. Overall it was just ok and I would not stay here again.

La experiencia fue muy buena, es el hotel que entiendo que tiene las mejores vistas desde todos los ángulos hacia el mar.

Está muy bien ubicado, le faltan algunos detalles que podrían decir como un dejo de cuidado a la infraestructura física.

El tema de la media pensión es bueno porque permite libertad de salir del hotel a explorar la provincia, aunque los precios de quedarse son muy buenos. Aunque podrían ofrecer más a quienes paguen el todo incluido.

The check in was unprofessional. We made reservation online, the front desk managed to misspell our last name. Gave us cards for towels, but to get the towels we had to go back to the front desk-couldn’t they just give us towels? This place is huge, lots of stairs. Very inconvenient to go from the pool area to the reception for the towels. Area around pool was not cleaned, lots of empty bottles. Shuttle that takes you between restaurants and room is not on schedule it comes and goes whenever. Had to wait for 30 minutes for the driver to show up. The only good thing was food, hot, tasty (not over salted) and fresh.

We booked this resort as an all inclusive. When we got there apparently they had changed the resort to no longer be an all inclusive. When we got there with no previous knowledge they charged us another $35 per person, per night for the resort stay to be all inclusive. Overall a scam.

The staff are phenomenal! Management decisions are odd. The resort is old, but beautiful! The pool and scenery are lovely too. Lots of jellyfish and sometimes trash in the water. Great breakfast and dinner buffets, but lunch options in the resort are too limited, and the walk to town mid-day is hot and inconvenient, passing by garbage, stray dogs, lots of noise and honking horns. Lastly, occupancy is down since the resort is no longer all-inclusive, so rooms are left sitting without AC in between guests. My room had a strong musty smell. Air conditioner was inadequate, so I ran and emptied a dehumidifier several dimes daily.

Not coming back. Disappointed with Bahia Principe Grand Cayacoa. Booked for an all-inclusive stay but was surprised to find out upon arrival that they discontinued this service without prior notice. Faced unexpected charges, including a hefty fee for my child. The lack of clear communication and the sudden change in services significantly dampened our experience. Not what we expected from a reputed resort.

This is not a Resort is a Hotel everything close early nothing to do in the hotel at night, not even vending machine in case you get hungry, the only good thins in this hotel was the employees very pleasant and and the view of the property. I will never returned to this hotel.

Customer service, food, and staff were excellent! We really enjoyed ourselves Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until the bud loads of locals showed up. They do weekend visit to the resort and we highly recommend not being part of that mess. Go Monday-Friday and you will not be disappointed at all! You will love it! Weekends are a much much different story!

Had a great stay with my teen daughter : perfect for our needs for this trip, which was entertainment for the kid and rest for the mama. Place is clean and safe. Staff is friendly and accommodating. If you're looking for a very quiet vacation, this is not the place for you : latin music in on all day, all evening, pretty loud except at the beach. Food is very decent. Cool excusions to do nearby (Monkey Island was awesome). Only downside is we got sargassum all over the beach on the 2nd day of our stay, took them about 3 days to clean it up because there was so much. It's a reality in the Caribbeans, happens! Overall, fun and beautifully located resort: I would recommend! :)

It was my first solo trip and first of all I felt safe the whole time. The resort is huge and has a lot to offer (pools, bar, beach, access to island, restaurants, quiet areas, etc). I found new things at the hotel every day! I like the fact that this hotel is in a different area than what we usually see in the Dominican Republic. The staff was amazing, they are all joyful and super friendly (specially the waitresses at the buffet). Only thing is that the staff don’t really speak English which makes it hard to communicate.

Great views. Rooms are old. AC could have bern better. Food was very good. Restaurants only every other day. Francesco the waiter was amazing. Shel Liana from entertainment team was great. Beach is good with a lot of friendly dogs. No waves, no seaweed, shallow waters good for kids.

First day, Room air conditioner and fan were broken. The fixed them as they could bathroom door knob was broken. The by the third day, magnetic key stopped working. Nobody can fixed it. We were either in or out cause someone from the staff needed to open our room whenever we needed to go in.

Beautiful area. Elevator to beach and location on top of cliff gives stunning views. Service was hit or miss. Some friendly some couldn't be bothered to get off their phone to get you a drink. Most were not friendly until you initiated a conversation. Restaurant had a lot if choices in the buffet but they repeated and reused dishes too much. Gym is small and not air conditioned. Pool is nice but the swifts fly over it all day and crap in the pool. I would return because of tge stunning location. But there coukd be a lot of improvements.

I expected something else for that price this is not a 4 or 5 hotel they charge me beer, they did not had quality drinks, the phone did not work, no shampoo, i was celebrating my husband birthday, i fold them to put happy birthday, they put anniversary, i try to get any reservations for the restaurant, nothing for the days i missed because of my fight delay, nothing, Rude!!!
I try to get Conpesation for a better room because i loss 2 days because of my delay, in a good way nothing, the respond, this is the only thing we have. No good intertaiment, very disappointed. I am person that travel alot , this has been the worst. Definally a 2 1/2 srart

Our overall stay was good. The hotel and room were clean. The restaurants (only 2 were open) were booked for days ahead. We were staying 4 nights and were only able to make a reservation for the 4th night and we did that the night we arrived. It says you can book ahead on the app before we came, but we tried and that didn't work either. The night life was not great. They had a show every night, but that included kids shows. So if you come without kids and don't want to hear baby shark then you maybe want a different hotel. The food was ok. The buffet had some decent options and they change it daily so that was good. Overall, you get what you pay for.

Hermoso lugar para pasar unas excelentes vacaciones y disfrutar de las maravillosas vistas de la península de Samana. Personas amables, cálidas y muy buenos servicios en todo el resort. Comida variada pero sobre todo el que guste del pescado puede darse cita a Gran Bahía Cayacoa. Mi esposo y yo pasamos unos días inolvidables en este paradisíaco lugar. Had a good time with my 4 kids n mom. The rooms were very clean, beautiful views n very quiet. Most of the staff are very nice, some waiters n waitresses didn’t ask if we needed anything but some of them went out of their way to make us feel happy like Deuris and Francisco among a few others because the food isn’t that good n there’s not a variety 3 out my 4 kids got sick, my daughter lost 2 pounds! The entertainment staff treated us like family even make my kids dance, thanx Antony, Jose Daniel, Kati n Sheliana we won’t forget how you made us feel❤️. Also bartenders at the beach n pool were great Yoarlin among others were very attentive n nice to me n all my kids always smiling👍. Had an incident with one of the karts driver Jhon, he gave my daughter his number. And also one of the buffet supervisor Genaro that told me to get up early so there would be orange juice then! But overall it’s a very nice n quiet hotel. Will go back if the food gets better!

The property is beautiful but most important, the service was really, really good at all areas of the hotel, animation crew was over the top, the shows were good, the food was really good, overall, I will recommend this hotel to all my friends.
Keep in mind that I was traveling with my parents, 78 and 73, there is lots of stairs at the hotel but all you have to do is call for a golfcart and it will be there in 5 minutes.

The property location is amazing - a must see and experience! Spectacularly beautiful and the \"all inclusive\" included more than everything we needed for a fantastic stay.

The property is in a deplorable state. Mosquitoes everywhere even in the food. There were no drinks or food in good condition. Everything was dirty. There was no staff to make the rooms. We had rented for three nights but we left after the first two nights. I would never go back to this place. I do not recommend it to anybody.

I loved my stay at Bahia Principe Grand Cayacoa. My room
View was towards the beach / pool, I didn’t like that I couldn’t hear the sounds of the beach from my room. The food was amazing. I loved the entertainment team, they were very active, Estephanie, is one of the entertainment team members, she was super amazing, always coming up to me and telling me about the activities of the day and seeing if everything was/is okay.

We had a delightful stay! It wasn't perfect by any means, but for the price we couldn't have asked for more. The staff was kind and helpful. The food was perfectly adequate. And if you tip (which you should) the drinks were strong. The views were incredible and the beach was delightful. I can absolutely recommend staying here. For the price it's tough to beat.

The staff were great, very friendly and tried to get everyone involved and having fun. Our group had some structural issues relating to leaks in the ceiling for a few nights and we heard that others had catastrophic floods. We were disappointed that urine leaking from the ceiling was not cleaned up until 12 hours later - this is unclean and should be done ASAP, not deferred to the next morning.

This resort is a good value for the price. The land on which it sits is gorgeous. Service upon arrival needs to improve. There was no one to welcome us and/or take our bags. Front desk customer service needs to improve as well. The property does not have air conditioning outside of the rooms. Food was okay but not great. The view from my room was excellent and we enjoyed the pool and beach. Great value but could easily be improved.
