We arrived at night and the room they assigned was humid and therefore smelly. They changed us to a smaller room but the smell was more pleasant. After dinner at one of the lovely restaurants -which by the way have a fantastic female bartender-, we requested a corkscrew, since there was none available in the room and we are still waiting for it -even when we approved an in-room corkage fee of US$10- our grand reserve Malbec is still uncorked. The next day we scheduled a massage at the spa, no robes, no slippers no hangers or lockers and one sided massages for 30 mins. No shower available afterwards. Great facilities, level of service should improve.

Fue un viaje de pareja y disfrutamos al máximo mi esposo dice que es un lugar que nunca va a olvidar, el confort, el lujo, todo, te sientes top. Un ambiente muy romántico y a la vez familiar.

Desde que llegas siente la calidez y amabilidad de sus empleados, el chico del checking es muy amable creo que se llama Ame (o algo parecido) me dieron la opción de hacer late check out y nos vino muy bien ya que pudimos disfrutar un poco más.

El trato en el restaurante italiano 5/10
La pizza muy quemada y muy subida de sal
El mesero no esperaba bien a que le ordenáramos algo del menú y se retiraba sin uno terminar de pedir. Una locura total.

Por lo demás 10/10 la piscina infinita NOS FASCINÓ. Suele estar vacía desde la mañana como hasta las 12 del medio día ya en la tarde es más concurrida.

El desayuno 10/10 todo delicioso, meseros muy amables y atentos.

The rooms were outdated. Some fixtures didn’t work like the shower head. There was a smaller shower head attached to a bigger one, the big one sprayed water everywhere so we opt to use the small one during our stay. The interior could use some renovations. Other than that the staff was patient and very friendly/ helpful. I would visit again.

The hotel is somewhat driving distance to meet local places (if you feel comfortable driving around). Our room definitely needed to be attended, none of the electrical outlets worked, no hot water in the shower, and the kitchen needed definitely to be replaced- stove completely full of rust, bathroom sink cloth up. We reported these items. Comfortable sofa, mattress somewhat hard, specious space, great balcony but overall the hotel was ok. Small pool, good marina and service was ok!

Lovely hotel off the beaten path. It's located 10 minutes away from Samana, in a private residential complex and marina. Completely self-sufficient: there is a laundry, minimarket, several bars and restaurants on the premises. Only one caveat: there is no beach in the property. However, the pools and sea swimming area (not exactly a beach), and proximity to beautiful ones more than make up for it.
Food in the restaurants is world-class, and while service may be on the unfinished side, the staff's attitude more than offsets it.
While dining at the Beach Club restaurant, was lucky enough to be treated to a group of humpback whales breaching, jumping out of the water, and overall having fun. It was an unexpected yet beautiful moment.
Overall, loved this hidden jewel, and will surely recommend it as much as I can, until I can return to it in the very near future.

Please don’t go this hotel. I thought those pictures of the beaches were at the property or near by because they said property Amenities, but they are hours away, I immediately ask for a refund and they talk to Expedia what I used to book the hotel, Expedia said the hotel denied the request. Lose my money and I didn’t use the property. Also the bar don’t have a crew the need to send someone and basically they nothing you can do at this place, I’ll advise you to go to las Terrenas and you wil find a lot more options.

The problem began with check in. I booked a king size bed overlooking the marina. The first room was a double bed. The second room with a king size bed overlooked the parking lot. The third room was perfect and then I was informed it was a $100. more per night. Fourth room had construction above but I was promised the deck would be cleaned and jacuzzi filled the next day. It wasn’t .
The real problem is with the management that has not trained the staff very well . A beautiful setting but a lot of service issues.

The Bannister Hotel is an amazing place. Every time I come to the Dominican Republic, I choose this amazing and beautiful hotel. Not only is it a fantastic place, but they also have the most accommodating staff with amazing and personable personalities. I wish I could remember all the lovely people's names but to names that stand out are Elena and Alexandro. It is very rare to find people like these two. Not only were they extremely nice and helpful, but they also recommended different sites to make my stay even nicer. The Bannister Hotel is the first hotel that made my stay outside my own city feel like home.

What a little gem! We arrived on a vessel in the marina and decided to stay for a night in the hotel. The staff is really the highlight as they are extremely helpful, friendly and offer 5-star service. However, the resort is gorgeous, I am obsessed with the decor, beautiful fresh greenery everywhere, woven rattan hanging lamps, its beautiful. A gym overlooking the water, multiple infinity pools, and great wine & cocktails. Currently sipping a $6 aperol spritz overlooking the bay. Can’t complain! Last night we drank martinis and played chess in the expansive & beautifully decorated hotel lobby and then enjoyed some coal fired pizza with a good bottle of red at La Regatta. This morning, included breakfast on the 2nd level by the infinity pool with free juice, a cute tray of freshly baked goods with incredible French press coffee, and fresh fruit followed by breakfast to order (get the mangu). If you don’t stay at the hotel breakfast is just $14. Everyone is wearing masks and disinfecting is happening with professional machines constantly. We feel blessed we basically have the whole resort to ourselves! Highly recommend a visit.

The view was great, but the hotel was a disappointment, 3 days with no hot water, the building look abandon, every day by 9 Am they start working some construction next to Our room. The restaurant was good, but not too many choices on the menu, the waiter Carlos was the only one with a good customer service, the receptionist Niulka she’s was very friendly and helpful.

Very lovely! The service could have been a bit better! The staff seemed to be very scared of management. We took a small speaker to listen to our music by the pool area & was told to please lower the music because it wasn’t allowed...
Please keep in mind that only breakfast is included.
The refrigerator was broken, never worked & the shower water was cold :-(.
But is a beautiful hotel!

We tried to cancel our stay and asked for a refund because we are from New York and under self quarantine. While the hotel did say they would refund our payment, they NEVER did. despite the fact we could be contagious and did not want to risk bringing COVID19 to the Dominican Republic. Even under this circumstance- they still refused. So, no.... we will NEVER stay there.

My group had an excellent stay here. Hotel is in a gorgeous location and the mini-suites are well-appointed and comfortable. Two out of three meals at the hotel restaurant were very good (one was not so good in terms of slow service and overly-salted food). Breakfast included was great. Will definitely be back.

Grate Location - Horrible Receptionist Service

We loved this property, it is so beautiful and very clean.
However, we experience something very unfortunate. The date of check-in my Mom fell down while we were walking by the boat area (while waiting for the room to be ready). My mom's arm bone went out of its place (on the shoulder part, we thought she broke her arm), because of the big pain she had, she was crying and hardly able to walk, she got cuts on her knees, elbows and mouth. So, I would consider this an emergency because of my mom's condition. However, when we went to ask for help to the receptionist (who checked us in) She was very unhelpful, she couldn't even offer water to my Mom (who was crying of the pain and almost fainting). The receptionist didn't even call an ambulance, she said we had to take a taxi to the hospital; but didn't even tell us where the hospital was. We had to google the location for the nearest hospital. Meanwhile, the receptionist was taking care of some tourist checking in at the time. THIS WAS COMPLETELY INHUMAN, WHILE I HAVE MY MOM CRYING AND ALMOST FAINTING OF PAIN, SHE WAS TAKING CARE OF SOME CHECK-INS... WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE LACK OF COMPASSION AND BAD SERVICE FROM THIS WOMAN.
