It's been up and down yet this trip great.

Been here now almost yearly for at least five years if not longer and have experienced the change of management over those years and the ups and downs of service. This go-around we were quite happy with the service and the location remains a treat it this is what you are looking for. We come for the great breakfasts and the pool as well as beachfront property. Our son loves the pool area and I like the gym, which over the years remains positively up-to-date. We actually never go to dinner at any of the hotel's restaurants as they are outrageously overpriced and mediocre. We just jump in the car or walk to other restaurants. They quality isn't top-notch but it's food and the price is better for what you get. We've also had issues with staff in the past but again, this time around, everyone was a nice as could be and from check-in to check-out we were impressed with the quality. We know how bad it could be as we've seen in years past so worked out well this time. I just hope they hold the level of service they have now and continue to keep the property up to date. One gripe which many others have had is the lack of electrical outlets in the rooms but this is probably more an issue with the building than the hotel not updating. You can find outlets but more would be nice and some direct USB plugs even better.

Perfect!

Relax weekends are needed to reduce the stress of the daily business and this hotel and all it's facilities is a perfect environment to reset yourself and enjoy the atmosphere. Very nice staff and superb level of service.

The bedroom overlooking the ocean was a good size (even if the view was partly obscured), the private facilities were first class. The main dining room was excellent for dinner, and our second night we ate in the gourmet restaurant. The fitness centre is huge and extremely well cared for. criticisms (1) the table next to us on the first night had 2 small girls who, perhaps through boredom, jumped up and down and yelled throughout most of our meal. (2) We ate in the expensive restaurant next door and making a reservation early, we were shown to a centre table with another person's name on the reserved card. (3) the gentleman at the next table took a flash photograph of EVERYTHING placed on his table - the bread, the butter, the wine glass, the label on the wine bottle, the wine IN the wine glass. My Aussie sarcasm about being on a ship coming into port with the lighthouse signal hitting us every few minutes seemed to go over the head of the waiter. The 'oh, sorry for the inconvenience' comment rang rather hollow, especially as the meal cost over (can't say!!) for 2 people. (5) If I return, I will make sure it is midweek hoping not to get crowded out of the spa by screaming little children - themselves or their fathers - thinking it great fun to splash everywhere and consequently, everyone. But, hey, I WOULD return, the hotel is really very lovely.

Grosse Enttäuschung

Miserabler und komplett lustloser Service (ausser in der Bar), Personal (auch an Rezeption!) spricht teilweise kein Deutsch (…und Englisch!…). Zimmerservice ging sogar einmal vergessen, niemand fühlt sich zuständig. Die Knallnummer war der „Rausschmeisser“ am Pool nachdem ich gefragt hatte, ob ich einen Sonnenschirm haben dürfe…
Dies ist definitiv kein führendes Hotel der Welt, bitte nicht darauf hineinfallen, trotz der englischlautenden Bezeichnung. Die Anlage ist wunderschön aber der ganze Rest ist unterirdisch. Der Fisch stinkt vom Kopf her….

Das Zimmer war, obwohl eines der kleinsten, groß und großzügig. Im Bad eine gediegene, wunderschön antike Ausstattung mit Badewanne und Dusche.
Das Hotel vom Ambiente und dem weitläufigen Gelände eines der schönsten, die ich je gesehen habe. Die Küche und das Angebot unschlagbar. Vor allem das Frühstück:jeden Morgen ein absoluter Genuss. Es blieben keine Wünsche offen. Das Publikum: Reich und scheu aber dennoch sympathisch - eine andere Liga, andere Sorgen.
Nicht ganz so gelungen war der Service. Erst nach dreimaliger Aufforderung wurde reagiert. Die Minibar enthielt noch angebrochene Getränke des Vorgängers. Das TV hatte keine Mediathek. Schön, dass ein Teil des Strandes von den Hotelgästen genutzt werden kann. Allerdings, gepflegt war dieser Abschnitt nicht und exklusiv ebenfalls nicht…

Es ist schwer bei dem Riesen Hotel was so langsam in die Jahre kommt den vielen Mängeln Herr zu werden. Die Preise erlauben eigentlich keine Toleranz bei den Mängeln. selbst bei Zimmerwechsel wechseln nur die Mängel. Das Essen ist gut aber ein Hamburger für 32 Euro kann natürlich nie halten was der Preis verspricht. Es ist halt nicht Paris oder London sondern bleibt in der Nähe von Bad Doberan.

Das Frühstück ist wunderbar, besondern wenn man wie wir Ende März das Glück von warmen Sonnentagen hat und den letzten Kaffee mit auf die Terrasse nimmt.

Enttäuschend - regelmäßiger Besucher

Sehr enttäuschend! Nach regelmäßigen Besuchen werden wir nicht mehr zurückkehren. Der Service im Hotel und die Mitarbeiter waren derartig unfreundlich, dass es fast schon an Frechheit grenzte. Am Abend wollten wir uns, nach bereits mehrfachem Besuch der Bar an vorherigen Abenden, an die Bar begeben, woraufhin der Kellner sich uns in den Weg stellte und derart anblaffte: \"was unser begehren sei?\" und uns darauf verwies, dass man (gemäß Schild) zu seinem Platz geführt wird. Die Bar war völlig leer... Ein solchen Verhalten habe wir noch nie erlebt. Dieses Verhalten durften wir dann am nächsten Tage beim Frühstück ebenfalls durch eine sehr forsche und derart unfreundliche Platzierdame erfahren. Beim Frühstück mussten wir mehrfach das Personal darauf aufmerksam machen, dass gewisse Dinge, wie z.B. das Rührei, das Bircher-Müsli etc. fehlen und dies dauerte dann ca. 15 Minuten bis dies aufgefüllt wurde. Das Frühstück ist gut, aber es kann nicht die Aufgabe des Gastes sein, das Personal mehrfach auf fehlende Dinge hinzuweisen. Ebenso war ohne jegliche Vorankündigung der Außenpool geschlossen, was zu einem völlig überfüllten Innenpool führte. Es war unmöglich morgens eine Runde zu schwimmen, ohne sich mit ca. 20x Personen den innen Pool zu teilen (schlimmer als Freibad). Service-Qualität / Personal ist absolut mangelhaft. Auch das Personal an der Rezeption scheint lediglich in freundlicher Gleichgültigkeit geschult und unternimmt keinerlei Anstalten den Gast zufrieden zu stellen.

Hat uns sehr gut gefallen, es ist aber schon sehr gehobener Standard und entsprechend ist die Klientel.
Ein hervorragendes Frühstücksbuffet und sehr freundliche, wenn auch tlw. etwas verpeilte Bedienung.
Durch die Abgeschiedenheit hat man da keine Massen an Touristen, zumindest im Winter.
Was uns nicht so gut gefallen hat, aber verschmerzbar war: In unserem Zimmer waren mehrere Sachen nicht in Ordnung: der Griff an der Dusche war locker, die Badewanne hielt das Wasser nicht drin und einige Schranklampen gingen nicht.

heaven can wait ...

The superb service of the Grand Hotel began before we even arrived in Heiligendamm. Frau Römer responded immediately to our questions and requests per email and reserved a junior suite with sea view as possible upgrade in advance.

Dogus made us feel at home from the very first minute of check-in, took time to show us four other possible rooms and suites, and informed us about the history of the hotel and the services provided.

We already felt at home during our first breakfast in the magnificent Kurhaus with the nice lady from Sri Lanka serving us with freshly prepared egg dishes, pancakes, waffles, and porridge. By the end of our third breakfast we felt as if we'd known Ulrike, Alex, and Ricardo for years, who took our coats, led us to our table, found time for personal small talk, and made us feel like royalty.

The location of the \"white city at the seaside\" is of course world-famous not least due to the G8 summit held there years ago, and of course we were awed by the historic buildings perfectly restored and meticulously kept up, and we enjoyed every minute of our very comfortable room with a Baltic Sea view.

But what made the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm truly grand were the wonderful people we met there. Maybe the management has been lucky with whom they've chosen to employ, maybe the employees have been lucky to have such great people to work for.

We are certainly grateful for our 4 days in paradise.

Das Hotel war anscheinend sehr gut (will heissen hoch/ stark) belegt. Was eigentlich kein Grund für eine schwächere Leistung als gewohnt sein dürfte.

Das Frühstück ist perfekt aber die Mitarbeiter katastrophal
Rezeption mit nicht deutschsprachigen Mitarbeiter /innen machen es auch nicht leichter statt Express Bügelservice erhielten wir nur zusätzliche Bügel
Das dann nach vielen Reklamieren erhaltene Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen war nicht benutzbar
Grand Hotel hat für mich persönlich einen anderen Service
Ich könnte diese Positionen noch vielmals ergänzen

Super entspannter Urlaub.

Wie immer super entspannter Urlaub.
Der Service war wie gewohnt sehr gut man fühlt sich sehr wertgeschätzt.
Das Personal achtete jederzeit auf unser Wohlbefinden das nicht fehlte.
Frühstück wie immer super reichhaltig ich denke es hat an nichts gefehlt.
Wir hatten auch einen sehr schönen Abend im Friedrich Franz Restaurant,

Die Seele sind die Mitarbeiter

Das ganze Paket mit Location, Zimmer, Bar, Restaurants war hervorragend, wobei die Seele und der ganze Charme erst perfekt wird mit den sehr professionellen, zuvorkommenden und diskreten Mitarbeitern. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und haben wunderbar entspannt.

Die Lage ist zweifelsohne top. Aber das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf dringend eines Facelift. Angesichts des dortigen überzogenen Preis-Leistungsverhältnisses ist das Hotel einfach zu teuer. Beim Frühstück wurde beispielsweise ab 10:00 Uhr kaum noch nachgelegt und kein Geschirr mehr abgeräumt. Dies geht überhaupt nicht bei einem Hotel in diesem Segment.

Ostseebad der Luxusklasse

Das mit riesigem Abstand beste Hotel an der Ostsee. Traumhafte Gebäude super SPA Innen-/Außenpool & Beach Bar / überall super Service und qualitativ perfekte Speisen - besser geht es nicht und dieses Hotel setzt sich stark ab von den vermeintlichen Luxushotels die man sonst so an der Ostsee hat - bei denen dann aber letztendlich nur der Preis luxuriös ist nicht aber die Leistung. Kompliment - unschlagbar gut Gran Hotel Heiligendamm - wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

An sich lieben wir das Grandhotel Heiligendamm, aber diesmal wurden wir in einem Zimmer einquartiert, in dem der Aufzug zu hören war, was in den Morgenstunden das Ausschlafen erschwerte. Zum anderen haben die Abflüsse der Waschbecken/Dusche beim Auslassen der Badewanne erst gegluckert und dann stark nach Abwasser gerochen, was sehr unangenehm war. Final mussten wir trotz Vorauszahlung an Expedia die Zahlung der Übernachtung im Hotel erneut leisten, da das Hotel die Expedia Zahlung nicht gefunden hat. Sehr schade.

Overordnet godt

Rigtig fin oplevelse. Flot hotel, fine værelser og rigtig lækkert spa område. Dog manglede vi lidt flere informationer ved ankomst i forhold til åbningstider i spaen, så vi fik ikke det fulde ud af vores ophold og der blev ikke informeret omkring hvornår der var morgenmad. Vi ved selvfølgelig godt er små ting, men det er forventeligt af et hotel i den klasse.

Tolle Lage am Meer

Tolles Hotel, aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Service lässt doch etwas zu wünschen übrig, insbesondere beim Frühstück sind definitiv zu wenig Mitarbeiter eingesetzt. Das Warten auf den ersten oder zweiten Kaffee dauert sehr lange… In Summe ist das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen, man hat das Gefühl, das einfach zu wenig Mitarbeiter vorhanden sind

Von außen schön anzusehen, aber kein 5-Sterne Hotel! Zimmer schon älter. Service in den Restaurants langsam und behäbig. Bestellungen dauern ewig. Tischreservierungen werden nicht richtig weitergegeben. Tische werden nicht immer abgeräumt, so dass das benutzte Geschirr die ganze Zeit rumsteht. Der Strand ist voller scharfer Steine und lohnt daher nicht wirklich.

Für ein Luxushotel war der Service im Kurhaus beim Abendessen eine Katastrophe. Es wurde alles auf den Personalmangel geschoben, nimmt aber weiterhin die hohen Preise des Kunden für den Aufenthalt. Kleidungsstück bei der Abreise im Schrank vergessen, umgehend im Hotel gemeldet. Jetzt nach einer Woche Rückmeldung, es wurde nichts im Zimmer gefunden. Tja wo ist es denn geblieben. Würden so schnell zu den hohen Preisen, bei dem Service nicht mehr hinfahren
