Very bad quality for the money

This “so called” 5 stars hotel does not deserve even 3 stars.

Nobody picks up your luggage on arrival. They dont escort you to your room.

The pool is over chlorined, makes your skin rash and feel sick from breathing. There is moist at the pool where the pool water ends.

There is no room service. You have to go fetch anything you need from the bar.

The cleaning staff wakes you up with sounds each morning at 8.

The place where you have open buffet is so hot, no air conditioning. All food that needs to be kept cool are hot.

We have informed the hotel that our daıghter has celiacs disease and we need special meal requirements, they ignored, did not help.

And the staff is unhappy, not helpful, serving with a bad and “bored” attitude.

The cleaning lady was exceptional and one of the reception lady.
The property barely can make it to be a 3star resort looks like it is the time for a refresh for everything … It is anon smoking resort but you can find ash trays on balcony and everybody is smoking there and is impossible to keep the door open because of that.The water is perfect but is not making the resort 5 star.
Very disappointed when we check in lots of things did not work or they were broken we had to ask to be fixed .
Overal not a super stay….

Sadece plaj için tercih edilebilir.

Otel mutfağı hem sabah kahvaltısı için hem de akşam yemeği için oldukça vasat durumda, ürünlerin lezzeti oldukça düşük durumda. Tatlılar ve tuzlular kalite ve lezzet konusunda vasatın altında. Otel içerisinde ürünler( su vs. ) oldukça pahalıydı. Otel mutfağının Yunan mutfağı ile alakası yok kesinlikle hayal kırıklığı. Plaj ve deniz çok çok iyi. Çalışanlar güler yüzlü ve ilgili. Akşam yemeği ve sabah kahvaltısı için suyun ücretli olması ve bu ücretin de yüksek fiyattan tahsis edilmesi tekrar tercih edilmeme sebeplerinden biri olabilir.

All stuff members are very helpful and friendly!
Room 6117 have sewage problem, very heavy and unpleasant smell also the wi-fi was only available at the front door, and not inside the studio.

Very good place for relaxing vacations

Public space was almost excellent. We used the buffet service for dinner; the food variety was very good and the food quality good.
The suites we rented need renovation. Minor issues identified during our stay were handled but could had been avoided if proper maintenance was performed.
We did enjoy the sunsets and the nice beach in front of the hotel and the children did like the pool too.

The Spa center was excellent (Frini,thank you for the amazing massage!), the sea view bar was very good and the breakfast was delicious (the waiters/barmans were very kind in both of them!) I am very unsatisfied with determinate part of the personal of the hotel and disappointed of the hole holidays there because of this!

Not a hotel that corresponds to a five star product. Suites are more of a king size rooms with an extra bed, not much comfort there. Bathrooms are outdated, need maintenance. Not much TV options either, mainly in greek so they need to think about the international clients.Great restaurant with good food. Breakfast choice for a five star hotel not really good, i would say poorley.

Never Hotels.com and Ilio mare again

I have reserved DELUXE APARTMENT WITH TERACE AND PRIVATE GARDEN!Yesterday when we arrived ,they know nothing about this and we are in 2 separated SMALL ROOMS WITH NO VIEW!!!The half beach zone and sun beds are with sign \"RESERVED\". I shall never use Hotels.com and Ilio mare also!

This place is absolutely gorgeous! Well maintained and lots of attention to detail. Front desk very helpful. Pool closes at 7 which is early but resulted in a peaceful atmosphere. Buffet is fine. Each night was a different them. I really liked British night because I took fish sticks off the kids buffet and made myself an excellent fish taco.

Negatives-bed was quite.....firm. Parking is a struggle. Small gravel lot . Otherwise find yourself a spot on the side of the roads around facility. No coffeemaker in room. No lift.

Amazing place with amazing staff

This place is amazing! The pics are spot on. The pool was fantastic and the beach was “right there”. I had become a bit hesitant when I read other reviews but everything from the pool/beach towels to the beach chairs/umbrellas were plentiful and free to guests.

The resort is a bit out of the way which we liked. Never felt crowded. I recommend getting the half board food option. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. (I recommend the pancakes drizzled with honey and sliced almonds). Dinner buffet was a different theme every night. Greek, Asian, British. etc.

The staff was very attentive. One guy, in particular, Chris, was so helpful getting me ice for my cooler for day trips to keep my insulin cool. He also gave us directions to this awesome honey shop and then to the perfect store to purchase olive oil and wine.

My only negative is parking. It is a struggle. One small gravel lot and a whole lot of cars means a lot of parking on the side of the road.

Five stars people but not the hotel

Fantastic people but too many things missing to be a true 5 stars hotel. The Sunday Greek night is missing the most important thing: the Greek music and dancing. Call it a Greek dinner or something but not a Greek night. There is a tennis court and a volleyball court but both are substandard.
Again, the people are amazing but they need the support if they want people to return.

Very good hotel in a quiet area near Prinos. Very nice design of rooms and all of the hotel. Very good breakfast, great variety and good quality. The only negative there was no room service food menu in the room so I had to go to the restaurant to get it.

Very nice hotel with private beach with many sun beds, umbrellas, etc...
The beach is divided on 2 parts: for couples and for families with kids. I'd suggest guests respect these areas.
The food quality was good.
The trolleys used by the chambermaids were old and noisy.
I'd returned to the hotel for sure.

Chill out relaxation on the beach

This hotel is in an unspoilt undeveloped spot on a lovely beach. The hotel is shabby chic and have thought of everything from complimentary towels round the pool and on the beach to service by your sunbed and chill out music playing everywhere, which was lovely. Really comfortable with big basic bedrooms, bathrooms are a bit naff, great dining choices and superb friendly service from all the staff. Excellent cocktail bar and lounge areas for when the sun goes down. Lack of Greek food was a shame but the buffet was good quality with massive choice. Excellent breakfasts too. I loved it here!

5-star hotel near the beach

We stayed to Ilio Mare for 7 nights and our stay was exceptional. From the first day and their welcome by the reception to the last one the staff of the hotel was very kind and being offered always to provide us whatever we wanted.
The rooms as well as the rest of the hotel was very clean, quite and comfortable. Well air-conditioned, with all the amenities provided inside.
The swimming pool is also beautiful. Very big with a pool bar inside it in order to enjoy well prepared cocktails.
The private beach of the hotel very well organised, will many sunbeds but also big beds to relax.
The restaurants are very good too. They offered high quality buffet breakfast and dinner. Every day the menu of the dinner is different with the highest variety as possible.
We highly recommend this hotel and the island too. We have visited many places from North America, to the whole Europe or Asia and Korea and this hotel was one of the best we visited.

Wonderful hotel and incredible staff

The hotel and facilities were excellent. Every single member of staff make the whole holiday - they couldn’t do more for you or be more friendly.

Location is fantastic for a relaxing holiday. The beach waiter service and different bed/chair options are what you would expect in the Caribbean and couldn’t be better. Beach is a bit stony but the water is perfectly clear and the sunsets beautiful. Free beds and towels at the beach and at the pool. Security guard wanders around regularly making you feel safe and lifeguards on the beach.

Ten minutes walk up the road there are tavernas and we hired a quad bike which was fun and we went further.

Our only negative point is that it didn’t feel like we were in Greece other than when speaking to the staff. We expected some Greek food and Greek music sometimes. But the food on offer in all of the restaurants in the hotel was varied and tasty. And we had a wonderful holiday.

Mainly Romanian, Serbian and Bulgarian guests, only a handful of English and a couple of German. We felt the guests took the mickey at the buffet restaurant piling the food on and wasting it just because they didn’t have to pay but everybody kept themselves to themselves and we had a totally relaxing holiday.

Thank you to Jenny at the pool bar who plays great music and is lovely to chat to and the guy that works with her (didn’t get his name - sorry!).

Everything Ah-mazing!!!

We were sad leaving Ilio Mare as have thoroughly enjoyed our stay this last week! All staff went above and beyond for us (family of 4) and we loved our buffet breakfast every morning. Pool is perfect, beach options perfect and cocktails around the pool were spot on, we really didn’t want to leave the resort to explore Thassos!

Special mention to Eleni in the restaurant who always welcomed us like family, Stavros who helped guide us around the island and also helped my husband pack our car today and the GM Dimitri; you guys are doing a wonderful job...keep it up!

Not bad, but could be better

Hotel is at the end of village, so you have to go by bicycle or car to shop, if you want to walk it takes app 20 min or more, so in general nice place to relax. Breakfast was great, people in restaurant friendly. The only big issue was that hotel management was slow to react and open children playground while it was raining (we were unlucky to get three days of rain), they opened only on day 4 when it was late to play inside and sun was shining again. There were a lot of us with kids and we keep asking receptionists, but they didn’t want to unlock it. Beach is not bad at all, better then many of those beaches in Thasos brochure.

Great amenities, friendly staff, great breakfast, relaxing and very pleasant. Except for buffet dinner options - total lack of personality in terms of Greek dishes (various international dishes but nothing local, poor atmosphere over dinner, clearly the fun was someplace else in the neighbouring villages). But great overall.

A 5-star hotel charging for umrellas & sunbeds????

Neither the agent nor the hotel on its web-site said anything about that the hotel was charging for the umbrellas and sunbeds on its own private beach. İf they did, we would get that the five-star rating of the hotel was rather 'questionable' and would not book the junior suite we booked and would choose somewhere more sensible!!! And the first approach of the manager was quite agressive when we refused to pay, although some time later he 'conceded' to check our reservation made thru expedia, and explained that the agent should have informed us beforehand, and he made us this 'oh so great favor' of extending a free pass. And all these happened on the third day of our stay, when a young hotel staff working on the beach everyday all of a sudden came and asked 'Can I see your beach pass please'!!

Adjust your expectations...

We liked the hotel overall considering that it is Thassos Island, which a lower end island, although great for families with young kids. We had a garden view room that fit two adults and one child. One queen size bed (a bit hard) with one mini pullout couch. Room was very small, as are most Greek hotel rooms. (Hilton Athens has nice sized rooms and is an awesome hotel) They made us pay for the use of the safe. I was not happy about that. Also internet access was expensive and did not work most of the time...you had to move around the hotel and still it was not reliable. I felt that it should have been included at that price. The beach was OK, but had rocks when you get in and rocks in the sea for the first 20 feet, then it was clear and nice and had a sandbar that was fun to play on. I understand that they used to charge for access to the beach..I would have been irate if they still did charge for it. We went to Paradise and Golden beaches and both were amazing as usual. Very shallow and little to no rocks. Paradise has no rocks. I think the hotel is one of the best on the island, just adjust your expectations if you are from the US. It's good enough, but I'd like it better at about 100 Euros. BTW breakfast was included, which was good because it's hard to find breakfast in Greece. you can always get Boughatza which is a filo dough filled with cream, cheese or ground beef. Very tasty! You're not likely to find eggs and pancakes. :)

Die Bilder des Hotels, der Anlage, geschweige des Strandes entsprechen nicht der Realität!
Wir waren sehr enttäuscht, sind früher abgereist und werden auch nicht mehr wiederkommen!!
