We had a last minute stay at Côte-Ouest due to unforeseen circumstances. The receptionist was very welcoming and showed us around which was helpful. The staff in the bar were attentive and the food was really good.
Our room was fine however being on the ground floor we couldn’t leave our patio door open overnight and it was so hot with no air conditioning unfortunately. So as well as being hot the mattress was too hard so our sleep was quite disturbed.
That being said, we enjoyed our stay, used the thalasso pool and had drinks on the terrace watching the sun go down. An enjoyable stay in the main.

Great views of the sea

Needed to change rooms because of leak in bathroom which was eventually fixed and we has to return to original room. No compensation offered for inconvenience.

Overall the hotel seemed to need a makeover.

Lovely hotel

The hotel was refurbished in 2013 and is themed on 1920/1930's travel by ocean liner. The facilities are of a high standard and the bar/restaurant is excellent. Don't miss the fruits de met and dessert Sunday Buffet! The outside sun terrace provides a lovely area to sit and relax and watch the sunset. We are planning to return next year.

Absolute Heaven!

We stayed here as an overnight stop from Dordogne to Roscoff. The hotel was perfect, practically on the beach. The rooms were of a very high standard with a huge bed, air con, wi-Fi, tea/coffee, fridge, and best of all a balcony. Would have loved to have stayed longer, maybe next year!

Great hotel with spa/thalasso but service disapoin

Great hotel with amaizing pools, steam room, sauna, gym and massage services or even programs to relax/lose weight. With my parents we had a great time. But the service was not the one of a 4 stars hotel. The dirty dishes stayed a long time in front of the doors of the rooms, some older people asked for a regular chair to sit near the outdoor pool and nobody wanted to come for them. By the way the balcony is often too high to be reachable by older people. But overal review very good.

Beautiful hotel

I stayed her with my hubby and 14 year old daughter. It's a great hotel if you're interested in fitness ect . Sable d'lonne is not the best place for a 14 year old. Nothing to do at all.
The breakfast in the hotel was the highlight for us. There was so much selection .

Nice hotel but situated at the edge of town

Very nice stay and breakfast was very nice but hotel tried to charge us for children 's breakfast despite it being included according to our booking with Expedia. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay and would recommend. The hotel is at the edge of the town so need to drive or walk to get into the centre of town at night. Very good cycle paths.

Great views but very small room

We booked a family room with sea views for 3 nights. The room was very small but the view of the sea from balcony was amazing. We ate in hotel on the first night. The staff in restaurant were great. Food really good and well priced for the quality.

Great all round

Great hotel, lovely safe enclosed outdoor salt water pool with man made beach and decking area, fab for children. Indoor pool also great with hydrotherapy areas. Very clean, great staff, lovely terrace with beautiful view of the lake and sea. Town is a 20-30 min walk but doesn't feel that long as it is along the lake then the promenade above the beach. Absolutely fabulous.

Difficult to access, with great views of the sea.

excellent service except the wait for the very good food (1.5 hours after ordering). I liked that the reception staff learned my name and greeted me personally every time ( perhaps helped by the fact that I appeared to be the only Brit staying and I struggled to communicate with them in French).

Had a good stay at the Mercure. Arrived with a dog they wouldn't normally have accepted but they did as they had been unable to contact us whilst in transit. Enjoyed the room with a great view and small balcony. Bathroom a little cramped.

Close to zoo and sea front

The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation and some parts are inaccessible or filled with materials. Having said that the hotel is very nice and we enjoyed having a sea view with a balcony. Mercure just don't seem to be able to get the wifi right and I would have expected given the investment they are obviously making at this hotel that it would have super duper fast reliable connections but yet again it doesn't. Restaurant very nice and quite reasonable. Swimming pool lovely temperature and the best steam room I've yet experienced. Some things lacking in room ie. only one pair of slippers and no robes which we were told would be there. work on site started at 8am so if you want a peaceful lie in dont go. Overall the stay was good but would have thought a reduction due to works would have been a nice touch.

Great Location - Tired Hotel

Stunning views surround this hotel although restricted if you do not have a sea facing view. The Hotel is undergoing some renovation but at present all corridors and public areas look shabby. All carpets (including rooms) look worn out. It is not clear on any of the booking web pages that the hotel insists that men's "Speedo" type costumes are required to use the hydra pool. These are for sale in the hotel shop but cost €35.00 so not worth buying for one night's stay. Overall a disappointing experience.

My family and I loved the hotel and everything about it. The hotel is in a lovely location which surrunded by a forest and lake. The beach is two minutes away.
Our room was big and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and clean.

I just loved the dining room which has a 180 degree view of the sea and the lake. Breakfast was very good with hot, cold food and fruit.

The swimming pool is lovely.

Les Sables D' ollonne is a gorgeous town and its beach is fantastic for kids and everybody else.
It is best to have a car if you want to go to the town.

Great, relaxing hotel for couples.

A lovely hotel with an ideal location for the beach. Excellent choice of food at breakfast and ample parking is available at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful (even when you speak only a very little French.) The only thing to improve the hotel further would be an outdoor pool as the indoor pool is often used for dedicated swimmers and not as a 'relaxation area'. Rooms were cleaned daily of a very high standard and clean towels and tea and coffee facilities constantly replenished when required - the room was incredibly comfortable consisting of a lovely balcony to enjoy drinks outdoors on an evening. We did not use the room service option during our stay - however many residents chose to use this service frequently so it must have been great! The hotel is at the opposite end of the promenade to where the marina and bars and restaurants are - a walk which took around 50 mins, however this wasn't a problem for us, as it gave us the chance to explore the resort further.

A lovely relaxing week away to Les Sable D'Olonne and a superb hotel. Would definitely return again!

Cet établissement est en cours de rénovation et agrandissement ce qui nous a pas apporté de désagrément.

Toutes les installations et services proposés nous ont donné satisfaction.

Le personnel très aimable est efficace.

Nous avons réservé sans regarder les photos de l'hotel, quand nois sommes arrivés quelle surprise de voir ce decor magnifique et en plus avec les decorations de Noël .Tout est beau dans cet hotel, le personnel est au petit soin, y'a rien à redire juste à vous conseiller d'y aller.

J’avais signalé l’anniversaire de la femme de mon ami, ils en ont tenu compte en lui mettant un petit mot avec un cadeau sur le lit.👍 elle était ravie.

Tout s'est bien passé, malgré les restrictions pour accéder au hamman, au sauna, ou au Jaccuzi, avec une limitation des personnes pouvant y accéder, ce qui ne facilite pas l'utilisation.
Sinon l'hotel est agréable et propre.
Petite déception au moment du départ, lorsque l'on me demande un supplément de 55 euros pour un lit en plus, alors que j'ai bien fait la réservation pour une chambre de 4 personnes (2 adultes / 2 enfants) a un prix déjà élevé. Pas trop moyen d'expliquer que j'ai bien réservé pour 4, je dois me débrouiller avec Hotels.com

Un séjour reconstructeur

Un excellent accueil dans un cadre exceptionnel . Une situation à 5 mn de la plage à pied inspire aux promenades le long du littoral atlantique, face à une mer agitée, de magnifiques vagues pour le surf dans un climat doux. On y respire l'air iodé. Le personnel discret et au petit soins, une piscine magnifique avec vue sur le littoral (bain à bulles, hammamm, salle de sport, jeux (babyfoot, échec...)
un petit déjeuner somptueux en face du littoral.

Très bel hôtel qui comprend de nombreuses activités (soins, massages, thalasso...) mais qui aurait besoin d’un petit rafraîchissement (mur et moquettes avec des tâches). Le petit-déjeuner est vraiment trop cher à 23€ pour les prestations et le contenu!!! Cela ne les vaut pas!

Der Service im Restaurant war erbärmlich. Die kellner unaufmerksam und arrogant. Zimmerservice: Wenn man 4 Stunden warten muss, bis das Zimmer geputzt wird, obwohl man dem Service Personal gesagt hat, dass man auf den Service wartet, ist das inakzeptabel. Wenn Service und Rezeption nicht fähig sind innerhalb von 3 Tagen einen Bademantel von Größe s in Grösse extralarge zu tauschen, obwohl 3 mal erinnert wurde, verdient das Hotel keine 4 Sterne!!!

La situation de l'hôtel est exceptionnelle,loin de l'agitation,dans un immense parc arboré,dans un quartier calme et résidentiel.L'accueil est très agréable,le seul bémol réside dans le parking très chargé et un peu éloigné de la réception,mais à ma demande,et avec le sourire on est allé chercher mes bagages,de même au retour.La chambre est claire,moderne sans froideur,c'est presque une suite avec un coin salon et une terrasse avec mobilier.Le restaurant dispose d'une terrasse avec vue panoramique sur l'océan,c'est bon et frais,axé sur les produits marins.Le petit-déjeuner est bien malgré un buffet un peu trop court pour éviter l'attente,serait à améliorer.

Bon sejour pour un we au cote ouest

Tres bon sejour au cote ouest Thalasso ou nous passions un weekend pour un mariage. Plutot bel hotel, avec une theme batrau de croisiere. Cadre agreable dans une pinede, juste au bord de la mer. Rien a dire sur la chambre. Petit bemol sur les acces a la piscine interieure qui ferme entre 12:45 et 14:30 (une premiere pour moi dans un hotel de cette categorie). Tres bonne idee les velos, mais je verrai bien une heure offerte vue le prix de l hotel

La thalasso n'est pas vraiment une thalasso, tout y est payant, il y a très peu de jets.
La piscine exterieure est une pataugeoire pour enfants!!!
La thalasso n'est pas du tout à la hauteur. C'est une piscine améliorée, rien de plus

Nous avons séjournés 2 nuits dans l’hotel Côte Ouest. Très bel hôtel avec une jolie décoration des années 30. Notre chambre vue sur la mer était très bien. Juste déçu que le lit double proposé, ne soit en faite 2 lits simples jumelés.
Petit déjeuné très bien et tous le personnel est très gentil et serviable.
La location de vélo est très pratique pour aller faire le tour du centre ville.

Probably the best view of the coast of Les Sables

Decent Hotel with best view over the bay. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff. Very good (indoor) swimming pool and Spa facilities. About 2-3 kilometers from center of Les Sables. Since we took our Lunch and diner in several local restaurants, we cannot comment on the ones offered by the hotel. Also a lot of possibilities for cycling and walking in the region.
Personally we (my wife and me) were there for 3 nights - 2nd week of September - and although our age ( +/- 58 years), most of the people staying there were much older. Maybe this had to do with the several spa and wellness programms you can follow there (which we did not participated to.)
No problem at all for parking the car.
