The hotel seems to be in the middle of updating. The bath/shower was updated, and the room was clean. But, the window drapes had areas where the lining was missing and light came through. The hvac system worked well. When we went to our 2nd floor room around 4pm a painter was still painting the hallways and the paint smell filled the area. When the painter left he didn't clean chipped paint from the hall carpet. There was an building entry lock that didn't work(lock). There was a group of children, maybe late elementary age, who were on an a organization trip who went down the hallway knocking on doors.
The 2 desk clerks we met were very professional and helpful for our stay and navigating the detours from the work on the interstate ramp. Breakfast was the standard continental buffet style.

The good: Conveniently located at the intersection of Interstate 70 and Highway 27. There are a variety of places to get food within a half mile going south on 27. Baymont is very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff members were very helpful and easy to talk with. Breakfast was excellent.
The not-so-good: Furniture and curtains are well worn with obvious signs of deterioration. No TV channel guide in room. The shower floor is dangerously slippery. Bed is quite high.
Despite my criticisms, I would stay in this hotel again.

It was a nice hotel, well maintained, staff did a good job refreshing the room. The beds were very good and the room was very clean.The pool/hot tub was in good condition and temperature was maintained at a good level. The breakfast was lacking some fruit and there was no elevator. It was a nice hotel for the money.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The building is old and stuffy. It seems to be a regular spot for traveling workers. It also looks like some people live there. Second floor no elevator. Room updated but the fridge and microwave couldn't be plugged in at the same time. Coffee in the lobby but no coffee maker in the room. I don't know about the hot tub, pool or workout room because I was too afraid to try them even though that was one of the reasons I chose the place online. I'm not saying good or bad place. I'm just stating my obsessions.

The reason I booked the hotels because they had a Jacuzzi and a workout room… the Jacuzzi was only a third filled with disgusting water and the gym treadmill did not work properly and our hotel room. The AC kept cutting out and it was very warm in our room all night.

The room was clean and that's awesome. Some of the areas of the hotel had some cosmetic issues. But nothing that affected the staying. I did not use the pool or the hot tub, but there were several people there using it when I was there. And they seemed to be enjoying it. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was amazing. They were incredibly helpful and pleasant, and I honestly would stay there again. Just because of how nice the staff was because you don't always get that.

We did not get there until 11pm. There were two rooms which is ok but one can only be unlocked with the master key and the other was second floor (stairs only). The room on the second floor had head and pubic hair in the bathroom gross! Breakfast was ok but biscuits and gravy were great. There is an older gentleman who will make your eggs to order. Not sure how often he works since we did a week night. Front Desk staff were great

Don’t let the exterior of the hotel fool you, the rooms have been refurbished and they are quite nice. I would hold them up against Holiday Inn express rooms. The staff is the shining part of the hotel, the second you arrive you greeted by Debbie who is an absolute sweetheart, and will treat you like family, no need will go unattended. Richard in the kitchen in the morning will make you eggs to your order, this is a big plus. A+

Breakfast was ok. There was a man who was fixing fresh eggs and bacon but we weren’t asked. The outside door near our room was never locked, I did not feel safe, it was not a safe area of town. Room was clean. It was a bit difficult to find with the stairs to the 2nd floor being so far from the front desk, & then the room was far from the stairs. It wasn’t pleasant walking in & out of the hotel while people were smoking right by the entrance. Breakfast was good, with many options. The staff person was extra considerate & attentive, offering to cook guests’ eggs according to their preference. Very affordable rate for a decent stay.

The hotel wasn’t fancy but was immaculate, comfortable, value-priced, and offered a breakfast spread equal to hotels that are 1-2 tiers more expensive. (Ask for cook-to-order eggs of any style!) Staff were friendly and competent. We did not use the pool or gym equipment.

Rooms are nice as the one we stayed in had recently been renovated. The rest of the property was being worked on and I hope it turns out as nice as the rooms. There was an issue with the shower and staff was alerted to this issue. It did not prevent us from using shower but was leaking and would need to be addressed. Staff was super friendly. The first day the breakfast room staff made eggs to order for me.

A variety of restaurants where nearby…we went to our favourite, Cracker Barrel which was located only 6 minutes away.

The bed linens and towels seemed quite fresh. The room was a bit grimy --I didn't really want to touch the greasy light switches. Staff were courteous but with poor personal presentation (non-professional and grungy looking clothing, etc. --management should provide company shirts and slacks, informal is ok but should look clean and fresh from desk clerks to kitchen staff). Overall, just barely ok for a very basic night's stay but the price should be about $15-20 less per night to reflect quality fairly.

That is a rocky good, it honestly could of been a 3 or 5. Nice motel, good rates, and really great staff. Well all but the Manager, he seems to either have a problem with me, or maybe a medical condition effecting his smell. Yesterday he knocks and says are you smoking in your room? I'll charge you money for smoking in your room. We had not nor did we ever smoke in the motel period. Then last time we stayed he blamed us for having dogs in our room. Saying it stunk like dogs, we didn't have any kind of animal what so ever. Its like he's craving to charge extra on my debit card or something. Other than that I'll go ahead and say its defenatly got 5 star possabilitys

My girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by how nice this room was for being on the cheaper end of the nightly cost scale.

Staff were friendly, Richmond is a frequent stop for me for a few hours of rest and a shower while I'm on the road through the Mid-West for work.. Would consider making this my regular spot over Motel 6 for future endeavors through the Richmond Area.

The stay started off with being given a room that was still in the process of being cleaned. The front desk lady was great and resolved it within a matter of a minute. The clean room we got was really nice for the price. The pool area was relatively nice but showed signs of wear as well as there being food on the floor around the hot tub. Probably from the group of kids there before we made it to the pool area. Hot tub was hot, Jets jetted but it could probably have used some maintenance to make it a better experience but overall still felt pretty awesome after being in a car for almost 24 hours straight.

Overall 9/10 for what it is.

Pros: There's a chipoltle across the street that makes really good burritos and given the location of the hotel and parking lot, your car seems pretty secure on the premises.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean. The room was very nice and spacious. The shower was perfect with lots of water pressure and adjustable jet choices. I felt like i was in a millionaires home shower. We loved the ice cold water and hot coffee in the lobby. The breakfast had a nice selection of items to choose from including busiest and gravy. The eggs and fresh waffles were delicious. The pool area is very nice, and the hot tub has powerful jets.There are vending machines for late night munchies, and speedway is also nearby as well as meijer and a small handful of restaurants. All the staff smiled and welcomed us, a special shout out to Debbie and Richard for going above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Thank you.

Room was sufficient in size, great ammenities in the bathroom, TV on the smaller side (19-21 inches).
Room cleanliess was not the greatest (dirt in bathroom corners, leftover toothpaste in sink, sink did not drain).
Amazing water pressure in the shower.
