Lovely place lovely people. If you want to get away from the mob this is the place. Beautiful setting. Lovely food. Reception were very helpful as were all the staff. Only negatives I have are the Villas are up a big hill so have a car or be fit. Also the pool at the villa wasn’t ready (on and cleaned) on the Saturday we arrived, wasn’t sorted until we said something on the Monday. But was sorted very quickly.

A slice of Heaven

Our room was amazing (not sure which category it was because there had been a bit of a mix up so we were upgraded) but if I'd have known how great it was, I would definitely have splashed out to stay in it. It was a two bedroom suite, one bedroom was huge with a gorgeous four poster and the other a single bed in a small room. There was a lift from the pool area that opened directly into the suite which is a first for us and a real wow factor (but you have to remember to lock your door or you may have surprise guests - although I'm sure the French couple were equally surprised to be delivered into our suite complete with a naked husband who'd just got out of the shower 😀).
The small room was too warm as the aircon didn't reach there so my daughter slept on the chaise longe in the main room instead and said it was really comfy.
The balcony was large and had a lovely view of the village.
The pool area was gorgeous and very relaxed with huge comfy mattresses on the sunbeds. The landscaping was incredible with many fruit trees and colourful flowers. We ate in the restaurant and both the food and the service was exceptional. Breakfast was also excellent.
Over our stay, we went to Balos and Elefonisi beach which I found both overrated, I would have rather spent the time around the hotel pool. We had lovely few days and I would defintitely return for longer (and pay the extra supplement for this room).

We were looking for the privacy of a vila with the amenities of a resort - and found the perfect place at Spilia! We had a private, 3 bedroom beautiful vila, with a great private pool. We added half board to the reservation - breakfast and dinner, and WOW, the food was AMAZING! We could not wait to get back to the village to eat dinner at the resort. The staff was amazing, EVERYBODY was extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. We would be back, hopefully soon. We are in LOVE with Spilia & THANK YOU for making our vacation a memorable one ❤️🙏

Overall my stay at spilia was excellent. I could of asked for anything more. Great location., great views wonderful staff.However staying near a local holding was quite a bit noisy with the dogs barking all the time.

Beautiful setting/traditional Greek hotel

We had booked a suite as we had my daughter and friend with us and whilst it slept 4 it was much smaller than we expected and didn’t reflect any of the pictures on the website. That said it was clean and the hotel staff were great. There was a lovely pool that got busy and a good bar.

Fantastic hotel set in a quiet village location, just 8-10 mins drive from the coast. Great food, fantastic views, the full Crete experience without the crowds or noise experienced at the coast. Crete boutique hotel 2016 and 2017, and a competitive price.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Recommended

The hotel is really beautifully built in a stunning landscape. We very much enjoyed its amenities (high quality taverna, swimming pool etc.), and enjoyed our time there.
The staff are very friendly and accomodating. I would definitely recommend this place, and would go there again (in fact, this was my second time).
Only negative points were the invasion of wasps by the pool (which may represent a health and safety hazard) and poor wifi connection (which in a way helped us 'detox' from internet)

Tuscan feel, far away from the city

Beautiful tuscan feel, rustic hotel. The villas are up the hill, with no way to travel back and forth and no room service. But the private pools are wonderful - better than the hotel pool that was full of bees. The spa is old and not very pretty. The pool bar had a very low selection of liquor.

Quiet but Beautiful Hotel in a Rural Setting

This hotel is a clever restoration of old village buildings grouped mainly around a well landscaped area with a good swimming pool. It is located in a quiet rural village with an excellent local Taverna, a short car journey from the seaside town of Kolymbari. Staff in the hotel are excellent.

A truly disappointing experience

We experienced the most unfriendly and unhelpful staff and the most unhygienic breakfast.

The hotel was advertised as serving all three meals which is important as it is in the middle of nowhere and the next town is a 10 minute drive away. Upon arrival we were told that lunch was not available and for dinner we needed to book in the morning so we were unable to eat there on day of arrival.

The staff were indifferent and inconsiderate about serving milk that was off for breakfast and flies that were sitting on the pastries and honey. When we complained they simply said that it was too cold outside and the flies come inside. There was no apology for serving sour milk or that the food was covered with flies.

We were provided a dirty cot for the baby which we asked to have cleaned, the staff seemed very unconcerned about hygiene.

We were also provided a room that could not accommodate the cot which was obvious to the lady putting the cot together in the room but only on request were we moved to another room. The second room had a small table in the way of the cot and the staff member refused to move it. We had to ask another staff member who agreed that the table was in the way and moved it.

This is by no means a 4 star hotel. We managed to checkout early and had a wonderful stay at the Casa Delfino in Chania town.

Spilia Village is not up to par

This hotel experience was mediocre. The non-Greek staff were not so polite and ignored to address some basic requests my family and I made. We needed an extra key but they never made one. The glasses were taken by the cleaning staff but were not replaced. The Wi-Fi was less than desirable. The TV channels were not set up to receive local stations (!) The breakfast buffet had very little variety and the orange juice maker that customers themselves had to use (!) was constantly breaking down...I think the biggest factor was that non-Greek staff were not polite or accommodating.

The hotel was obviously built as a 5* but has fallen on hard times. Premises scruffy, menu and wine list limited and food not good. Describing itself as \"luxury resort\" is totally misleading.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in a family suite. 2 adults and 2 children. The hotel facilities are 4 star, the room however wasn't quite there. Lovely furnishings but no kettle or complimentary tea and coffee, the mini bar and complimentary toiletries were not stocked up daily. The room felt rather dark, especially between wardrobe and bedroom, making it hard to see what was in the safe that is located in the wardrobe.
One of the women working at reception also made our requests feel like they were a hassle to her.
Other than that we had an enjoyable stay

Beautiful villa in lovely location

The hotel is located a short drive from the coast at Kolymbari. When we arrived we were taken to our villa, situated a short distance from the main hotel building. We were delighted with the accommodation - a tastefully renovated stone building with two bedrooms, each with a balcony overlooking olive groves and surrounding countryside. There were two bathrooms, a well-equipped modern kitchen and a large sitting room.
In the garden was a private swimming pool with sun loungers.
Breakfast was a buffet in the main part of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the fresh orange juice, yoghurt and honey.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We hope to return next year!

Endroit très calme et vraiment très sympathique, chaleureux et reposant.

Le personnel est vraiment très bien, tres souriant et super chaleureux, prêt a toujours trouver une solution pour aider. (Problème WIFI et coffre-fort).

Concernant le nettoyage, le personnel est super gentil, mais il devrait revoir un peu le nettoyage des chambres. (Nettoyage du sol; sent plus la javel que c'est propre. On dirait que seulement un seau d'eau est utilisé pour tout l'etablisement.)

Par contre, l'extérieur est vraiment très propre, chaleureux et bien entretenu.

Le seul petit hic est le suivant : les murs de notre suite aurait mérité un petit rafraîchissement. (Petits travaux de réparation et peinture).

Sinon nous sommes ravis de notre séjour et de découvrir ce petit mais très joli endroit et d'avoir rencontré de formidables personnes des lieux.

Nice little hotel with wonderful location and splendid villas. We had the Villa on top with breathtaking views from the pool. Breakfast at hotel is nice and varying, and the small restaurant you pass to get from the villa to the hotel is also really good.
The hotel is about an hour drive from the prized beaches in western Crete.

Fantastic place !

A fantastic place to stay with family, very friendly and helpful staff (recommendations, restaurants..). We stayed 5 nights and have been upgraded to a house with private pool, new and high standard. Very nice pools and amenities. Location is greatly to visit this side of Crete; not far from beautiful beaches. Strongly recommend it!

Great stay but poor food!

Great stay but poor Food.

We stayd for 3 nights and it is a beautiful small hotel with great rooms.

Unfortunately the restaurant food was really bad but luckily it is two great restaurants 1 min walk away.

Would recommend to stay but skip the restaurant.

Cet hôtel est idéalement situé pour visiter l'Ouest de l'île.
Pour le reste nous n'avions pas de connexion wifi dans notre chambre et c'était le cas dans d'autres chambrées. Pas top du tout pour travailler à distance.
Dommage que les chats errants rodent entre les jambes pendant le petit déjeuner et que la piscine soit infesté d'abeilles, guêpes, frelons tout le long du bord de la piscine (vraiment limite pour les enfants et adultes) ... surement attirées par les poubelles et autres ... alors oui c'est la nature pas de souci mais autant au même endroit ce n'est pas normal et c'est dangeureux.
Sinon l'accueil 24/24 est un vrai plus pour suivi excursions, conseils et autres.
Mais cet hôtel coûte plus cher que les prestations proposées.

Hôtel plutôt calme situé dans un petit village avec jolie piscine et équipements complets. Peut être un peu isolé si vous voulez manger le soir ou vous baladez car il faut obligatoirement prendre la voiture pour trouver un peu d’animation le soir.

L’hôtel est en plein aménagement et ne correspond plus au standard 4 étoiles
Les chambres sont grandes et propres mais dans certaines dont la mienne (135) de gros soucis sanitaires
Une fois pas d eau chaude une autre fois très peu d eau
Le personnel est super sympathique
Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié
La piscine est belle mais les jardins pas ou peu entretenus
Les fruits pourrissent au sol et un tas d’autres déchets (pot plastique, bouteilles plastiques, outils ....)
La photo de présentation de l’hôtel est une toute petite partie de celui-ci, le reste est complètement différent !!!!
Nous sommes très déçus

Hotel war gut, leider ist das Dorf Spilia nicht sehenswert. Viele Hauser sind am verfallen.
Die Taverne im Dorf kann ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen, da das Hotelrestaurant zu teuer ist.
Hotel hat eine gute Lage für viele Ausflüge.

We rate Alex! This boy really was very open to costumers and was aware of hospitality. Also the pool area and the little village spilia with the church was sweet

There was not a feeling of love for the place from the owners. It was a bit of a businesslike attitude and not thoughtful with an eye for detail. They try to give you a lot of facilities but on a sort of cheapest way.

Een heerlijk hotel

Spilia Village is een erg mooi hotel. We zijn er ontvangen met echte Griekse gastvrijheid. Het hotel is ruim opgezet en zeer goed verzorgd. Prima zwembad en andere faciliteiten. Het ontbijt was erg uitgebreid en voor het diner kon je er ook goed terecht. Wij hebben er vier avonden heerlijk gegeten.

In de omgeving is genoeg te doen. Het dichts bij zijnde strand is op 3 kilometer. De Samaria Kloof ligt op een uurtje rijden en is absoluut de moeite waard. Ook de Botanische Tuin is een bezoek waard.
Ik kan het iedereen van harte aanbevelen.
