The location wasnt the best. The room smelt like sewage. It was like there wasn't a trap on the drain. That was our main issue. The beds were really firm. The staff were great.

Front desk is very kind and attentive. Always available to help. Rooms were cleaned everyday. A bit noisy since we were on the 1st floor by the front desk area so we could hear everything. But besides that it was a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was great, there were many options for food and drink so 10 euros for that was a great price. I would stay here again.

This was a great stay! Most staff were amazing. The only complaint was it was difficult to get food ordered at their garden bar as staff were not out there or would walk by and not check in with the guests sitting there. The one time we did finally request to order the bar manager seemed irritated that we were requesting service. Otherwise the other staff were very friendly and food was just good. The room was small but was clean as was the property.

The front desk staff were kind and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, our overall experience was disappointing. The first room had a strong sewage odor, and while we were moved to another room, it had been heavily sprayed with air freshener to mask the same smell. It seems the hotel has an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed. The bartender at the garden bar also needs some tips on customer service — he was not friendly or attentive. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again

I stayed at the Cross Hotel with my two daughters at both the beginning and end of our trip, and it was a great experience both times. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the location couldn’t be better. It was very walkable with lots of great restaurants nearby and easy access to the Colosseum and other major sites. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it felt like a great home base for exploring the city. The only small suggestion I have is to bring your own blow dryer because the ones in the rooms aren’t the best. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

This hotel has been the best thus far on our Europe trip! I highly recommend this place as they are very friendly and extremely helpful. Angelica is the absolute best!!!!! So knowledgeable and extremely kind. She made our visit to Rome a wonderful experience. Seriously don’t look any where else, this hotel has it all. Good food, comfortable room, and very easy to hop on a bus (stop is at the hotel) or walk 10 min and hop on the metro line.

We stayed at the Cross Hotel during a recent visit to Rome, and overall it was a great experience. One of the best things about this hotel is its location, it’s within walking distance to several major sites. In particular, it’s very close to Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, and just a short walk to the stunning Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, which made it easy to explore some of the city’s most beautiful churches on foot.

The hotel itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were helpful, and the rooms were well-maintained and quiet which is a nice retreat after a long day of sightseeing.

However, it’s important to mention that the surrounding area can feel a bit dark at night, and there are quite a few homeless people along the way and even directly across the street. While I didn’t have any negative encounters, it’s something to keep in mind, especially if you’re walking back late in the evening.

If you’re looking for a hotel with few amenities and convenient access to some of Rome’s historical churches and landmarks, Cross Hotel is a strong choice, just be aware of the local surroundings after dark.

I loved my weeks stay at the Cross Hotel. The staff was very professional and extremely helpful. Helping with rides to and from airport, directions and rides to great restaurants the best sites and all the touristy things I wanted and needed. The breakfast included was my favorite. There was a great variety of hot food that filled me for most of the day. I traveled solo and recommend this Hotel to anyone headed to Rome.
Ps: I forgot to mention the Garden bar and rooftop! So much fun.

The location of the hotel is ideal for walking to the Coliseum which was my main reason for booking. It's a straight 25 minute walk but there is very little in the way of decent cafes or restaurants in the immediate area. There is a metro station 10 minutes away so getting around is no problem.
The Cross is a modern hotel and is well recommended.

We only stayed one night when we had to reschedule our train to make our flight out of Rome so not much to contribute beyond that it was really well situated between train station, metro station, and airport, so would recommend to anyone who wants a Rome stay with a lot of transportation convenience! Also we got stuck on a replacement bus when our train got canceled so the 24 hour check in desk and friendly staff really helped, as we unexpectedly didn’t arrive till about midnight.

Hotel room was very clean, although small the bathroom was very nice, and staff were very kind and helpful with check-in/check-out. Good selection for breakfast, easy to access on the property. The major downside was that the city center and Roma Termini were relatively far for walking and difficult for public transit for people who prefer walking and exploring. Limited options for food in the area, but to be fair it was the end of August during holiday season.

The hotel staff were very kind and helpful throughout, the rooms were also nice, clean, and provided with fresh towels and linens daily. I personally enjoyed the garden cafe just to sit and read late in the evening, and the breakfast provides a good selection of pastries, fruits, meats, and cheeses. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the city center to walk, but can be easily accessed by metro or bus. An added benefit is the several public water fontanellas available on the adjacent streets to refill bottles in the morning and evenings. Overall, a very nice stay!

Bed was very comfy and AC was good. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room, but we knew upon booking that wasn’t the case. Although some reviews complain about the street, we felt very safe and thought it was in a walkable and convenient neighborhood. The hotel outdoor bar is nice as well.

I loved the rooftop and garden. The staff members were very kind, helpful and knowledgeable, always ready to assist. The staff member gave us a map and showed us all the places we can visit and how far they were from the hotel. The colosseum was a 15 min walk from the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great. I recently stayed at the Cross Hotel in Rome, and my experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The room was clean, comfortable, and had excellent air conditioning, which was a lifesaver during the hot June weather. Air conditioning was inadequate, as we were there during the heatwave. System struggled to keep up. Needed room card to keep system running during the day but housecleaning kept taking it out, so the room was hot when you came back to the room. Miscommunication between staff and management.
Worlds smallest showers. We are not big people and needed to turn sideways to get into the shower. If you dropped the soap, you had to open the shower door and stick your head or ass out to give enough room to bend over to retrieve the soap. Don't know what larger people do but would have been comical to watch.
Staff were very nice and helpful, location and transportation was good. Breakfast was good. Overall 3.5.

The location was good, walking distance to bus and metro station. Safe area to walk at night time. My room was on what they called \"first floor\", which required climbing up almost 30 steps with no elevator. Upon check out there was no one to help with the bags. The night shift reception staff was not willing to help answer questions and was repeatedly dismissive and rude. Day time staff were respectful and nice. Check out was a hassle since the credit card machine was broken and I didn't have cash on me. The building was old and outdated. However, air-conditioning was nice and working which was very refreshing, there was a fridge and safe in the room which was nice.

The neighborhood didn’t look so good and more so across the street with people - homeless people sleeping outside. There was some damage to the building that was noticeable from the outside. More so there was a problem with my shower door and it was never finally fixed. I was there about 5 to 6 Nights. They did apologize for the inconvenience and try to offer me another room on my last night. There is no way I would use this property ever again on my next trip to Rome.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel, thanks in large part to the incredible front desk staff. Although there was a delay in our check-in due to some service being done in our room, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of while we waited. They were kind, accommodating, and genuinely interested in helping us have a good stay.

What stood out the most was their great sense of humour and how approachable they were—it really made us feel at ease and welcomed from the moment we arrived. It’s clear that they care about their guests and take pride in their work. Little gestures like that make all the difference, and we truly appreciated it.

Highly recommend this place—not just for the comfort, but for the exceptional hospitality.

The hotel is clean and staff is friendly, however , we had a few issues . Day one took a shower and water was freezing. The next morning still no hot water. Went to the front desk and they casually mentioning the boiler is not working. I asked when will it be fixed , he said maybe tomorrow I’ll give you a glass a wine for inconvenience . Water comes back now it’s too hot!!!!!! Burned myself with hot water. Other than that ok . Not so great neighborhood

Mooie kamer strategisch gelegen

Toen we vanaf het station in de namiddag aankwamen twijfelde we even over de locatie van het hotel. Een wat duistere straat aan de zijkant met veel zwervers en graffiti. Hier kwamen we al snel op terug. De straat was prima qua veiligheid.

Het hotel bestaat uit meerdere gebouwen in Italiaanse style. We werden netjes naar onze kamer gebracht. Lift is aanwezig. Kamer is ruim, we verblijven met onze dochter, haar bed past er makkelijk bij.

Helaas de meeste ochtenden wel vroeg wakker door de waskarren die over de keien gereden worden.

Locatie is top, dichtbij metro manzoni waar de A lijn rijd. Je benr zo door heel rome.

Housekeeping is netjes en nauwkeurig. Wij zouden nog eens terugkomen.

The smell was overwhelming when we walked into the room. Upon checking the bathroom, we found mold throughout. The blow dryer didn’t work, and when we requested a different room, we were told the hotel was sold out. We tried opening the window for fresh air, only to find the air conditioning units directly below—blowing hot, musty air. Absolutely disgusting They refused to reimburse us for the night stay.

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. First of all, there's no coffee machine in the room, which is ridiculous considering they charge extra for both coffee and breakfast. There is no iron in the room but there’s a dry cleaning service which is expensive so you can guess why they didn’t put an iron in the room.

On top of that, I had my iPhone charger stolen from my room!!!

The bathroom was a nightmare – I found bugs crawling around, and the shower was filthy. To make things worse, the hotel is located in a dangerous neighborhood where walking at night feels unsafe, and it's definitely not reasonably priced for what you're getting.

The heat in my room didn't work, making for a very uncomfortable night, and the WiFi signal was terrible, cutting out constantly. Overall, this hotel was a major letdown. Stay somewhere else if you can.
