Staff gave incorrect directions and didn't tell us where to go had to locate it ourselves. Many broken fixtures including exit sign which is fire hazard. Main entrance outside not maintained, maintace room left open and unlocked and unattended for anyone to walk into
Shannon
The hotel is really run down. There is a musty smell. The front desk couldn’t hear me on the rotary phone. Strong smell of bleach and there was some beetle bug in the bathroom. It is close to Darien Lake, so that was a plus.
Renée
Nice hotel, staff is very friendly and helpful. Less than 10 minutes from Six Flags Darien Lake and easy to get to. No breakfast but they do have coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the main lobby in the morning. Two floors and no elevator
Robert
This property has clear signs of neglect. The exterior carpeting by entrance was ragged and torn. When we arrived a massive rainstorm had just passed. Our room had a large puddle on the floor near the wall that we could not determine the source. We saw no evidence of a leak. We did notify housekeeping and they immediately dried it. The room floor was vinyl flooring, not carpet.
When checking in we were handed bottled water, which was nice. We later discovered why. The water from the faucets came out brown. We were not warned about this nor advised not to drink it.
The staff was accommodating, but the property is a never book again. I am surprised it had a 7.8 rating.

Located just five miles away from Darien Lake, this was a great place to spend the night. The staff was friendly.
Nicole
The staff was so friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work!!! Would definitely recommend this hotel
Baldemar
Extra cost which they knew about. Ants and blood on sheets before we slept in them.
KAYLA
Stayed this past weekend for a concert. Unfortunately we couldn't check in early however the staff was very helpful. We were able to take care of everything prior to the show so getting back was a breeze. Hotel was pretty outdated but for the price and convenience it was great for us. They even offer shuttle service to the venue for small fee. The food truck in the parking lot after the concert was a great bonus too! I would stay again if traveling for anymore shows!
Adam
Mold in the bathroom. Dust everywhere. Dirty and stained carpets. Paid to use shuttle bus and nearly cost us our lives. Left with bruises and cuts. Econolodge offered a free night. Choice Hotels did nothing. Taking full action. Do NOT stay here if you value your health and well being.
Larry
Great place to stay if you are in the area for a concert
Lori
The woman that checked us in was wonderful. The entire hotel smelled like cigarette smoke, but our room did not. The bed linens were not super clean.
Michael
This was my first time staying at this hotel and prior to this stay I haven't stayed at an Econolodge for at least a decade. I chose this hotel as it was closest to Six Flags, besides their lodge, as other hotels were at least 10-15 minutes further from the park.
The price was great, it was a good value, I arrived around 8:30pm, after a downpour chased me out of the park before it closed at 9pm. Check in was fairly quick and staff were fairly friendly. I was given room 222, on the top floor, and there are no elevators. Bottom floor are pet friendly rooms.
The hotel lacks amenities, there is no breakfast or pool, and only thing I saw was a coffee area in the morning.
The room was decent, all the lighting has a yellow tint, AC was indicating the filter needed to be cleaned, and USB plugs did not work/were broken. The room was relatively clean, no bugs, TV worked well, the king bed was relatively comfortable but only had 3 pillows, and I was facing the main road and could hear traffic noise.
Bathroom had some issues, I had to fix/straighten the shower rod as the curtain kept opening on both sides creating puddles on the floor. The shampoo and conditioner dispensers were both basically empty, the shower head was odd and only had a rather aggressive setting, and towels were basic. When I first used the toilet, the water was yellow/brown, I though it had urine or wasn't flushed, but the water at this hotel is discolored and that was unsettling and fairly gross.

We went to see a concert and they offer a shuttle service!!!
The driver (Eric) was very nice!

Room was dirty, sheets were ripped and re-used as they didn’t smell clean. Toilet was discussing discolored yellow and shower was the same. AC unit had black mold. See pics.
Amber
Horrible stay. Unhelpful lazy and rude staff. Brown water. Broken dryer (which staff failed to put an out of order sign on the broken dryer). We will never stay at another econolodge again.
Amber
Worst hotel experience ever. Water was brown. Our plans to go to darien lake after using the guest laundry. The dryer did not dry my clothes or my husbands close. We tried drying for hours. One maid offered to dry our close in the staff laundry saying it would only take a minute but another employee told her not to. The front desk said there was nothing they could do. The tv in our room did not work it constantly kicked us off our show. Staff was rude
Roger
We had a small issue with the toilet in our room. Upon informing the front desk staff, she gave us a different room with an upgrade!
Bruce
This motel had very dirty well water, couldn't shower or brush my teeth.
Raymond
It was okay for the price, but the cigarette smoke smell was strong & the toilet had not been cleaned.
Tewana
Love the staff here !

The front desk lady was a sweetheart, my problem was thw room , there was some type of leak that was coming from the wall and the floor was soaked and some of my clothes got wet, I didn't really have time to complain because we got there very late and we were tired and I didn't notice it until in the morning, we had to leave at 5:30. I hrabbed my.clothes and they wheee soaked
Viktor
So so so dirty disgusting
julie
Clean room, friendly staff, quiet and relaxing.
Lisa
No one was at the front desk when I arrived. I waited for 5 minutes and then wandered to find someone. Desk clerk was out back smoking. The hallways reek of cigarette smoke. It's gross. The hairdryer and its wall mount in the room were both cracked and broken, laying next to the sink.
Philip
Convenient and good service
Scott J
Hotel was pretty rundown. On your website you indicated that they serve breakfast, but they don’t. Only coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The room wasn’t very clean. I found a candy wrapper in the middle of the floor when I walked in. While the hotel indicates that it is non-smoking, the smell of cigarette smoke permeated the hallway, and my room
Gary
The rooms were very clean. I checked for creepy crawlys in the bed sheets and whatnot and everything was perfectly clean. The staff was super nice and down to earth. The sleep was very quiet.
Joseph
It was exactly what I expected for a great rate.
Brian
Nice and friendly
Troy and Evelyn
It was good for a weekend getaway. However, there was a housekeeper and another guest that was very loud and it was honestly disrespectful because it was very early in the morning like 6 or 7. Other than that, stay was decent.
Cindy

Tyler
Room smelled of mildew
Shane
Im a truck driver. Its nice, clean and quiet. The manager and the staff have really nice.
Stephen
Staff was really friendly!
Samuel
Good place to stay for a low cost. Room was clean and the staff were friendly, but there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout the whole building, including the room. For the price, not a bad place to stay though.
MARGARET
Nice big clean room on 1st floor. No bad smells at all. Nice hot coffee available, as well as vending machines for convenience.
Valerie
Parking was fine. No kitchen, furniture and linen were dirty, hallway stunk of cigarette smoke, and doors were slamming all throughout the night.
Cali
Staff was friendly! Very clean, a little out dated but overall a great cheap hotel close to everything. Would recommend.
Deborah
Clean place everything worked as it should. Professional staff.
Martin
Parking ok
Mark
Staff was very friendly
Michael
Convenient shuttle service for concerts that is faster and cheaper than a rideshare service. Staff was friendly and location is great!
Scott
Overnight trip
It's a nice area, and close to Darian Lake. I'd stay there again.
Paul
This is a good little stop if you’re visiting for a concert or event at Darien Center. It’s obviously old and a little worn out, but for the price it’s clean and safe. There’s a Denny’s across the street, a Subway, and stop truck stops for food within walking distance. It’s not fancy, but the staff is AMAZING. They are extremely helpful and a pleasure to be around. If you need a clean, safe place to stay, you can confidently book this.
Elizabeth
Everything looked clean - that being said my feet bottoms got really dirty. When we left there were what looked like clean sheets on the floor marking the next room to be made up - gave me an ick factor.
Staff was nice and check in easy. Wish there was shower gel as well, nice bottles of shampoo and conditioner included with the room.

Very clean room and nice staff
Roxanne
Great stay
Can't say enough great things! Super friendly staff and great location.
Emily
I'm definitely booking to stay here again.
James
The check in was surprising in that they charge $30 for insedentals and say they will refund after you leave. What is that about? Also only stairs and there is smoking allowed. On the good side the room was very nice tho the bathroom tyb had hair in it everything else was ok
Sean
Room was more updated then outside of building. Bed and bathroom were clean but there was a musty smell in the entire room. Cobwebs in the corners. It was good enough for 1 night but I wouldn't stay there for any extended period of time. They did allow our dogs to travel with us which was really convenient for us.
Ivan
no breakfast like it said in reservation
Phil
Pros: Quiet, convienient, really comfy bed.
Cons: Outdated, smelled strongly of smoke despite being non smoking, not very hot water.
Fine for a night's stay, just not a lot to rave about. Room was clean, except for the string odor of cigarette.

Manager was sarcastic, hotel is very dated/old room tv was at least 25yrs old. Limited to only one restaurant thats inside a service station. Room was clean bathroom was extra small. You get what you pay for
Brian
Friendly staff, clean room. Will staying here again!
Jennifer
Very very outdated
Nancy
Miriam at the front desk was unfriendly and condescending. I've never been treated so poorly by a
Gregory
Needed a quick place to stay as partvof a longer trip. Clean and comfortable bed was all I wanted and i got it at avfair price.
Constance
The person who checked me in was very nice and welcoming.
Angela
Surprisingly clean and comfortable!
Very comfortable rooms and beds! The rooms are far nicer than the exterior would suggest!
Mohiuddin
Great!
Falcon
Front desk staff were helpful and friendly.
Jocelyn
Great staff and very accommodating
Sierra
Easy check in and check out, friendly and helpful staff, confortable beds!
Ernest
It was like they were doing the bare minimal and not caring the staff smelled like smoke or the hall ways, the parking lot and hall ways were dirty, the night staff was very disrespectful making guests in comfortable slamming things, talking out loud that she didn’t want to be there and complaining. The house keepers smell like cigarette smoke. Not recommending this place at all.
Chantalle
It served a purpose , it was ok
Abigail
Was good
Raymond
It was nice that they offered (a very affordable) shuttle service to/from the Six Flags concert venue.
Kathleen
Excellent experience
Stay at Econ lodge was like a home away from home. Highly recommend this hotel. Staff made us like family and accepted our dog cooper like he was one of theirs. Will definitely be back when we travel the area again
Eric
Tv didn’t work and WiFi was useless. Room was clean for a lower end motel
Elwood
Good staff at check in with suggestions of where to park to make it convenient for my handicap.
Florence
Room was clean and good for a quick one night stay. Not meant for extended stays. No coffee pots in room but available in lobby.
Nancy
Kind staff. Public spaces need thorough cleaning.
Room was old but clean. Halls and public places stunk like old clothes and cigarettes.
William
Convenient for a show at Darien lake
DAVID
Good service
Jessica
OK the outside scared me. It looked run down and I was afraid to step inside. However, once I went into the lobby I was reassured how we mustn't judge a book by it's cover. The woman that checked us in was the nicest! I wish I got her name. She suggested a wonderful spot for dinner and was just a great human in general. Our room was spotless. The bed was comfortable and the experience was very pleasant!! The cost was affordable too. Would definitely stay again.
Fred
Overall good the staff was helpful polite the building and grounds could use a little renovation
Tiffany
The term continental breakfast was a very liberal term for the coffee, tea and cocoa that were available. Had I known that there would not be food for breakfast I would have opted for a different property with a similar price.
JOSEPH
The property was close to our location. While the entrance to the place smelt ok, there was NO questions, pot and cigarette smoke in the halls. The room was nice and clean and did not smell. A Denny's and Subway were within walking distance as were two gas stations. Staff was friendly, would have been nice if they had a pool. The place was definitely run down and need renovation, but I would have no reservations about staying here or recommending it despite the smoke and pot in the hallways.
Renée
Nice place to stay, everything was good. There isn’t an elevator to the second floor so we had to bring all our stuff up a flight of stairs, had I known, (maybe I missed it in the description) I would have packed differently. I wish they offered breakfast. Otherwise it was great, thank you!
Jon
Only real pitfall was breakfast wasn't offered when it says it was included with the stay. Staff was very friendly, we were given a free upgrade on our room. Beds were clean and comfortable.
Patricia
Our stay was just ok. The room was clean, could have been cleaner. But the building is run down and needs some updating.
Anthony
The room was clean and bed was comfortable! Needed it for just a quick overnight stay and it served its purpose! Staff was friendly and very helpful!
Vanessa
It was clean, the staff was friendly and served the purpose of having a safe and clean place to sleep. There is not much around but that was ok for us.
Catherine
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. One way to improve would be to have all rooms non smoking as it smelled throughout the hotel unfortunately.
Jeffrey
Ok
Trishden
We stopped for the night and the front desk associate named Marion was absolutely amazing and was by far the most friendly and accommodating hotel associate we've ever had the pleasure of encountering.
Holly
Place is clean and beds not too bad. Good cheap place to sleep when visiting theme park.
Verified traveler
Strong musty odor in room. No way to get fresh air.
Chris
The staff were excellent, welcoming and professional. The room was clean, though rather outdated. This is expected at the price point. I stayed for only one night, in order to get some rest on the way home from a trip. I was able to do so, as the bed was very comfortable.
Anita
The pictures showed updates rooms. Ours was not. No elevator. You have to walk up and drag your luggage up to the 2nd floor.
Marie
Well maintained hotel outside of Buffalo area.
This was a nice hotel to stay close to the Buffalo area. Clean rooms and pet friendly. Fridge and microwave in room was also a plus. Well maintained property and price was average.
Kevin
The person who worked the night shift was very nice.
