This is my third visit to this beautiful oasis, and I am never disappointed. If you are a nature lover, this resort is for you. Beautiful natural setting, delicious food, well-trained and wonderful staff, with a geothermal hotspring jacuzzi and cool dipping pool in each villa. It is worth every cent you pay.
I must mention some of the wonderful staff here - Ali, Ram, Chetan, Kin, Simon, Apple, Siva, Rubini and Livesh, who all make this place special. Kin was a class above the others as he took the time to explain each dish, and was always open to feedback. Ram and Chetan were just wondeful conversationalists and so very pleasant. The entire staff including reception, housekeeping, maintenance and grounds are just so friendly. Thank you guys from both of us.

From the moment you arrive at The Banjaran you know that there is something special on offer. The photos do not prepare you for the beauty of the site, the mountain backdrop and lush jungle with gently weaving paths promising so much and tempting you to explore. The caves and hot springs, picture perfect pool and all day dining. The villas are perfectly presented and provide so much more than a standard room, spacious living space and private pools, balcony over the water or furnished terrace and well stocked mini bar. The vibe at Banjaran is laid back and low pressure. Long lazy delicious breakfasts and options to relax and decompress around the site, spa, sauna, pools and places to just site and watch the world go by. At the core of the Banjaran experience are the staff who are friendly, quietly efficient and always purposeful.

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating our 10th year anniversary in this retreat. Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The resort amidst the lime caves is magnificent! The only pet peeve I had was the construction noise coming from the upcoming hospital next to the resort.

Stayed two nights for our honeymoon and it was worth every penny.
We were given swan towels and rose petals on the bed and a congratulatory little cake.
The private hot springs and plunge pool in our villa were excellent and nice to lounge in the outside/inside living area during thunderstorm. The staff were lovely, welcoming, attentive and friendly. We will definitely be coming back to Ipoh just for this beautiful gem.

We booked the Banjaran for the middle weekend of a two week second honeymoon. It was meant to be the highlight, and filled that role perfectly. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were being pampered in a very special place.
Our water villa was absolutely lovely, and it was tempting to stay there, relax, and enjoy the tubs etc. But it was also worth venturing out to enjoy the various pools and caves.
Jeff's Cellar provided an amazing dinner on our arrival night, and we chose the 'In Private' BBQ to be served in our room for the second night, which was amazing (but way too much food for us to finish).
A few reviews mention problems with bugs and monkeys. I managed to pick up a few bug bites on the golf cart ride to the villa, and after that the supplied repellent mostly kept them away. But it's probably a good idea to apply repellent before arrival. The resort isn't particularly bad though - I got a similar batch of bites on an evening walk through Singapore. We were treated to the spectacle of the monkeys sat on our villa roof tearing apart a packaged loofah they'd pinched from a service cart, but that was more amusing than problematic.
A two night stay felt about right. We could have maybe kept ourselves occupied for another day, but there's only so much hot tub one can take.

Exceptional stay. The location within a geothermal hot springs makes for a truly unique experience. Couldn’t fault our stay, although it is slightly pricing and the service doesn’t quite justify the premium (compared to a cheaper stay at Danna Langkawi where the service was exceptional!).

We thoroughly enjoyed it. The front desk staff was excellent; and really, so was everyone we came into contact with. A manager, Chinese guy, forgot his name, came and made pleasantries at breakfast. I needed some silverware, he went and informed someone. We waited for a while before requesting for it again. He honestly would have wowed us if he had gotten what we needed for us instead of instructing his staff. That hands on approach would have been impressive.

Check-in was a breeze. Had a minor issue after checking into our Water Villa, there was condensation up in the ceiling which made water drip onto the bed. The staff were helpful and moved us to a Garden Villa since there were no other Water Villas available (Essentially an upgrade). Staff also offered complimentary bottle of wine as an apology for our inconvenience, though we rejected it since we did not take alcohol, but thank you for the gesture. Everywhere you went, staff were all smiles and helpful.

Amazing n beautiful. Ipoh is beautiful itself with cleaner air, fresher air and authentic food street food helmed by owners / cook / Chef themselves. Pomelo n durian are in season. So we did enjoy. Crystal caves, steam cave, waterfall, meditation cave, vege farms, durians trees, tropical fruits n flowers, jungle trekking by guide, yoga, geothermal pools, hotspring pool ... so unique. Even the villa has a hot tub that is so therapeutic. We were given a tour of Jeff’s cellar where fine dining n the owner cellar of wine are in the basement of a cave.

Amazing stay in Banjaran, didn’t expect there’s such a cosy n natural retreat in Ipoh! Had a wonderful time esp all thanks to Ass manager Miss Theng. She has made our stay a even more enjoyable one! Her hospitality was TOP-notched! Which is even better than those 6* hotel services we received from those sophisticated countries which we have always visited! Management should be aware do something more to retain such great staffs who is hard to come by! Overall will be back again with my parents & kids in 2 years time since my gal only 10 yr old! A bit disappointing for the no child policy though! My Husband loved the cave dinner , beautiful ambience & great quality of food n wine! 👍

We stayed over Christmas 2018. Mr Alex Castaldi/GM and Raymond/Director of Operations, Chef Boon, Front Office/Ms Theng, Grace, Winnie and a long list of so many others... are so attentive and personal, talking and taking good care of us. We stayed in a Garden Villa and loved the private swimming pool and natural thermal heated hot tub, it was spacious and very luxurious, especially the Bose Bluetooth speaker. It is really a wonderful experience to stay at this resort, lots of greeneries and peaceful to unwind and relax, wonderful dinner at Jeff's cellar … a unique restaurant with good quality food and service and eye opener to see Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah's collection of wine and liquor. Food at the Pomelo was great but it would have been nice to have a little different and special touch on Christmas Day. Will definitely recommend family and friends to visit !!
