The location of the hotel is excellent. The hotel service is wonderful. We did not sign up for breakfast. The hotel restaurant food is much to be desired. The tomyam soup was cold (no candle to heat up). We need to tell the restaurant staff to heat up the soup. The rice was dry. Otherwise, our stay was pleasant and comfortable.

For the 2nd night I had the 2 bedroom apt, one of the room didn’t have enough lighting then realised the ceiling light was not illuminated.
So informed & the technician immediately replaced it.
Next to the bed there isn’t enough plugs to charge our items so if there is will make a lot of difference.
Staffs were efficient & friendly to ensure our stay is comfortable.

This is a nice, clean hotel but impractical on a number of levels. Unfortunately the location is completely impractical unless you have a car. There is a row of shops a 5 minute walk from the hotel but no footpaths. Every attraction is at least a 30 minute walk so transportation is required. The hotel room is really nice but impractical. If you want to use a plug you have to unplug something as there are no free sockets. A hairdryer is provided but it is hardwired in the bedroom area with no mirrors available. Limited storage space. Nice toiletries provided. No soundproofing, you can hear guests in the corridor and road noise from outside, however the road quietens by midnight. The redeeming feature for me was the free self laundry facilities provided, I wish all hotels had this. Staff pleasant at check in but all very impersonal. I would only recommend this hotel if you have a car.

All good except your swimming pool is poorly maintained.. after got into the pool we felt itchy even after shower. the edge of the tiles around the pool is sharp, unsafe and dangerous beside than the water was full of dirt and sand. Suggest you might want to have your team to look into it or someone might get hurt. p.s - my junior suite pillow have an unpleasant smell.

Pool needs maintenance

Nicely appointed hotel, but could improve on certain things. The pool needs more maintenance - it has quite a few chipped tiles that could be dangerous. We felt the sharp edges a few times during our swim sessions, and are lucky not to be hurt. Also, the ladder was missing a few steps the first time we were in the pool, but that was fixed the next time we went.

The pillows are also rather soft, but I guess that could be a personal preference.

Finally, stickers in the bathroom advised us that, if we want to reuse the towels, we should hang them up. However, our towels were always replaced even though we had hung them up.

It was good, cleanliness surrounding the grout of bathrooms and luggage benches needed to be wiped on general rubbing marks.

The swimming pool, and general flooring/ hidden areas should be better attention to cleaning, not just glossing over - The hotel is only 5 yo, and the effort of polishing/ cleaning of public areas, or wall paints needed better protection of weather - generally maintained to good standards. Thank you.

There is no doorman to help us to bring luggage up the stairs. Reception check in personnel unhelpful and no greeting at all. Room short of water bottles, safe box no battery, Water basin flooding, aircon extreme loud noise and leftover empty bottle under the sofa. Could not sleep due to loud aircon noise and request for another room at midnight, the reception counter Ms Sha must be given a lot of credit because she immediately help us out. Unfortunately the changed room was not in good condition with the wardrobe door damaged.

We absolutely loved staying here.
A charming hotel in a great location, so close to yummy food and easy to get quick and cheap Grabs from to go elsewhere.
The bed was very comfortable, shower fantastic and the hotel was very clean. Free guest self-service laundry was a handy bonus.
My only issue was with the hours the rooftop was available. The place is called the M ROOF hotel, you’d think they’d make the most of it!
But it’s only open 8am-7pm, and that’s where the pool, gym and laundry all are. Why?! It’s not like they have a lifeguard on duty?! The area is so pretty with great views and lovely lights but you can’t even use it at night to see them? And who wants to do their laundry during the day?
I would absolutely stay here again if in Ipoh once more, I was just frustrated that the main reason I booked it — the rooftop pool — had such limited opening hours.
Added points to the staff for taking a photo and messaging us to check on clothes and books we left behind. We had done so deliberately, but what wonderful service to follow up on that.

After checking out I realised I had left my travel wallet in the room (8 hours after checking out). My travel wallet contained my passport, significant amount of cash, travel cards etc. I rang the hotel who contacted room service. They had my travel wallet which I collected and found fully intact. Thankyou MRoof staff for your excellent service.

Only comment is that the water pressure and water temperature fluctuates hugely when taking a shower. Hope the plumbing gets checked and fixed for future guests.

Hotel was perfect. Modern, clean, helpful staff, excellent view of Ipoh city and free parking on site. It is also within a 5 min drive to eating areas. The only thing that the hotel can’t seem to solve is the water pressure on the 10th floor and the hot water. It fluctuates between low and high pressure and the water is at most lukewarm.

Photos look good, but the actual property is rundown. Spider webs along the hallway. Hair on toilet floor. Wall paint poorly done. I spent my NYE there and there was nowhere in the hotel for countdown, no bar and no alcohol allowed in public places. I asked room service for a wine opener and they asked me to bring the wine downstairs to the restaurant to uncork.

This room was not as nice in cleanliness and maintenance.
Can’t fault the friendly and politeness of staff.

Parking was convenient, easy access for attractions and local food. Hotel environment and design was properly chosen. Check-in/out at the lobby was swift. Room is in good condition. Area of improvement would be the cleanliness; throw pillow of the room that I stayed-in has an unpleasant odor. The bathroom sink was semi clogged. For some reason the housekeeper's cart was parked in front of the room I'm staying during my entire stay, that could've been handled better.

Stayed for 2 nights in December for business. The room is big enough but the quality is bad. There are paint peeling from the walls and ceiling and my tv has a line across the middle of the screen. The 3 lifts also takes ages during peak times.

I like that the shower and WC is separate and big bathroom. Clean nice big towels too. Within walking distance to the stadium with lots of places to eat.

There is also a white coffee place on the ground floor for quick breakfast. Good hotel but definitely needs updating

It was a terrible stay as I used to stay here when I travel to Ipoh. The bath room totally blocked without checking it for next guest? After shower, water came under the bed & power tripped furthermore! Force to changed room eventually. Hope housekeeper can ensure the room condition before next guest come in. It really a mess for me! Hope same scenario will not recurring again, not for my sake but other sake.
Beside, check in took me more than 10 minutes which I think is unacceptable also. Hope improvements take in near future!

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the room very much. Parking for the hotel is outdoor and the lots are definitely not sufficient to cover all the guests. Be prepared to park by the roadside.

They have 2 cafe but one was not operating. The Old Town Grand (another version of Old Town) provides good service and nice food.

We manage to visit a Pasar Pagi at the stadium (just opposite the road from hotel) on Saturday.
