Nice hotel walkable into old town area - but poor parking arrangements - says free parking on hotel.com booking when it isn’t as the free area is already full upon arrival

The lady at the front desk was beyond helpful upon check in. I wish we had gotten her name because she made our stay so nice from the moment we checked in!! The hotel is in a great location and very close to the old town with lots of shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was also delicious with many options!

Hotel was perfect for short stays, Breakfast was ok; Not a huge selection, very very basic.
Staff were friendly and nice. 15 min walk to main square.
Well maintained hotel, Only downside was AC not working at all throughtout whole trip- Told the reception staff, couldn't really do much, they mentioned theyll get someone in the morning but we didnt really feel it working. 34/35° weather in August, had to deal with it by spending some time in the lobby or corridor as there AC was on full blast.

From the moment I entered, I felt welcomed by the staff. My friends, staying in another room, left early the next morning. They told me that the hotel scheduled a taxi and made them a to-go breakfast, because they had an early flight. Wow!

The bathroom was great. The room spacious and quiet. The Central AC was amazing, especially after spending a week on a yacht.

I loved the 24-hr front desk service. They always were available for a quick question, and always friendly. I had a cold, and the front desk agent brought extra tea to my room, early in the morning.

I liked the short 5-10min walk to the main stores and restaurants. Felt nice to not be in the middle of everything. But still close.

Overall, I was really lucky to find this gem. Is was a last minute booking. My 2 nights there were really enjoyable.

Best Front Desk Ever

The elegant woman at the reception desk was more helpful than any tour guide. She gave us excellent recommendations and warned us what to look out for. When there was a mechanical problem with our room vent, they immediately moved us to an upgraded room. They went above and beyond to help us out. Breakfast was excellent as well, with gluten free bread provided to the one of us who needs it.

Fantastic location just a short walk into old town Split and the front. Staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. Our room was upgraded on arrival which was a pleasant surprise! Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. Room was lovely and spacious and clean. Bathroom was good too, had everything you needed and all very clean. Would recommend this hotel. It also had parking which was helpful for us. We paid to park in a hotel space as there was no space in the free car park right by the hotel. However this was not a problem for us, the spaces are right outside the hotel so very convenient.

Lovely hotel, that I'd definitely visit again.

On arrival to the hotel, reception staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a slight mix up with the room (likely miscommunication during booking between a twin room and double), but this was immediately sorted out by the staff. Room was comfortable and clean, in a quiet area. Breakfast provided a wide choice of cooked and continental, which we both enjoyed.
We travelled as a party of 2 females, and felt safe walking to and from the hotel. With the hotel only being less than 10mins away to the sea front (which is where the main promenade is and where you can catch ferries etc to the islands).
Would stay again and recommend to others. Excellent stay!

Outstanding Service, Well-kept, Cozy & Charming!

Delightful experience! Knowledgeable, friendly, attentive staff that seemingly tremendously enjoy what they do. From the front desk, to the room service and the restaurant - staff at Globo delivers great service, make you feel welcome and very comfortable.
In every large city parking is a hassle - not at Globo - a reserved parking spot just steps from the Hotel's entrance has been immediately provided/attached to our reservation. Parking was to our surprise free of charge??
Our room was neat, clean, comfortable, quite large for European standards; well-ventilated, no stale air; washrooms sparkling clean, room temperature pleasant; just nothing to complaint about. Had a great sleep in quiet environment despite high occupancy in the hotel.
All in all, great experience that makes us already plan our next visit to Split, hotel Globo - indeed, we are planning the longer stay next time!
Great service, quality, atmosphere, hospitality - for very reasonable price!

Nothing is too much trouble at this hotel

The staff at this hotel could be used as a case study in customer service. Nothing is too much trouble, and there is only a desire to make guests feel welcome, comfortable and like old friends. I don't think I heard the word 'no', but if I did, the smile which accompanied it would have erased it from my memory.
The location is good for getting to the Old Town by foot, and there is an excellent courtesy electric vehicle, with a very helpful driver, which took us to the departure points for a couple of trips which the staff had arranged for us, and to the airport bus on our final day.
Overall, we felt more like old friends than guests.

a bit of peace and quiet in Split, Croatia.

this was a very, very quiet hotel. After shutting good windows, there was a wooden shade outside that could be brought down. This kept out any noise from passing cars, people walking by in the morning talking loudly.
Staff couldn't have been nicer especially the woman who was in charge of the included breakfast.
Good experience all around.

Amazing staff - will seriously help you with anything you need, at any hour of the day or night. The breakfast was really wonderful, there were many fresh/local options. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the old town area (~10-15 min.) but if that doesn't deter you, then this is easily the best hotel in the area!

Welcome respite

Great value and such a relief from the press of the Dubrovnik crowds. A bit away from the tourist scene but definitely walkable. The front desk women were lovely and the quality, quantity and breakfast variety was wonderful. If you are looking for a pristine town experience, then maybe you should reconsider Split. Remember, most Croatians earn much less than the average American, and this is demonstrated by the graffiti and the gray, grimy Soviet-era buildings away from the Old Town. The hotel Globo however, is lovely and well kept and will meet your expectations of a nice hotel.

Quiet location

The hotel was extremely quiet. Possibly because I was the only guest. I was there for All Saints Day in the low season and was the only guest in the hotel. Breakfast buffet was very good and they offered a huge selection even though they had only one person in the entire hotel. This is a small, almost boutique hotel. It is a bit of a walk down to the palace and sea front, but only a 5 kuna for a taxi from bus station. There is a supermarket directly across the street. There is a bar/café right next door. Reception was very helpful with directions to the palace and supplying map. Would recommend if you want to get away from the big crowds.

The hotel was a little further from the centre of split than I expected from the description, the decor was good and the staff polite, I was disappointed that the bedroom was below ground with a window at ceiling level that could jot be viewed out of, and there was a temperamental lift to the basement floor which was really annoying. That said there will definitely be worst places to stay, and i would stay again but I would insist on a room on the 1st floor or higher.

Not what a **** hotel would be in UK, but generally ok. The delivery lorries to the supermarket opposite at 6am were rather noisy and the \"view of the mountains\" was obstructed by the buildings opposite (we were on 2nd floor) though would have been better on higher floors probably.

Nice hotel, close to old town.

Hotel was nice for our one night in Split. We drove in snow most of the day getting there and once there it was late afternoon and rained the rest of the evening. The hotel is however only about a 15 minute walk to the old town. The guy at the reception when we got there wasnt overly nice, neither was the desk when we left the next day. Our only hotel in Croatia where they were not really friendly. Breakfast was good, with all the usual fair. We were able to park right in front of the hotel which was great with the rain. The old town was cool as most of these old historic areas are. We bought some really nice filagree jewelry from a very nice lady store owner. She was very patient and super friendly and had some really unusual pieces. We also had dinner in a small family restaurant again with a very nice man who ran the place. It was in the old town in the second floor of what I'm sure used to be someones home. Had really good shrimp soup and risotto. Great dinner on a cold night. Since we were late, the guys outside of the old church wouldnt let us in but seemed to let others in. Not sure what was up with that. Enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Globo is about a 4-block walk from the old city and Diocletian's Palace. Our room was well furnished and of moderate size, but unfortunately it smelled badly of smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. Breakfast was good and parking was free. Front-desk staff were helpful but seemed distracted by their personal phone conversations.

The hotel is in an ideal central location. Only minutes walk from the Old Town, Joker shopping centre, and main road as well as plenty of local amenities and public transport.
The staff were more than helpful, and polite, and the hotel was clean throughout. The room was comfortable and clean.
Breakfast was basic, but there was a variety of food, bread, yoghurt, egg, sausage, cereal, juices, continental etc, and was filling!
A pleasant stay in a comfortable and modern hotel.

Clean, comfortable hotel for our one night stay. Stayed in Split the week previous for three nights at another hotel as was unable to book a room at the Globo. The Globo was far superior. Excellent breakfast. The only disavantage is that the Globo is a good 15minute uphill walk from the train/bus stations and port but worth it, as the cost of the room w breakfast was cheaper than our previous more central hotel.

First thing to say is that the hotel allowed me to change the date of my reservation after I made an error in booking - after the refund cut off period. So - good for them. The people from the cleaning staff, in the restaurant and the front counter were extremely helpful and friendly. They smiled so much it must hurt.
The dinner we had - on the water - at the hotel was the best dinner we had in Croatia. All that and the water is beautiful, excellent to swim in and if you are interested you can walk along the water for miles/kilometers (we never did reach the end). We were only here one day and could easily have stayed more.

Hotel Globo is close to the sights of the old city

This is a well maintained hotel, very helpful staff, and a 10 minute walk to Diocletian's Palace and the old city, a little further to catch ferries to Hvar/ Trogir and other islands. It is not on the sea front but is in a quiet clean area. There is a very large supermarket nearby and a tiny convenience shop acxross from the hotel. Breakfast had a range of fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals - hot water machine dispensed moderately hot water for tea ( as they usually do!). The hotel was a good option but travellers should be aware that everything in Split is touristy and expensive.

The appearance and facilities would have been good for a two star hotel, but definitely not for business or high quality vacation experience. Breakfast was really disappointing and there's no point of paying for it because there is lot of lovely bakeries around the hotel and Split area.
The staff was helpful and nice until they had to take any complaints about the hotel under which they were hostile and defensive. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who expects anything more than an expensive two star experience.

Very spacious room in a semi modern hotel within a 10 minute walk to the medieval town centre. Reception staff a bit sterile but they warmed up once they realised how much we liked Split and became very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was very good and had plenty of variety of food. I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Globo for 2 nights. The location was great - less than 10 minutes from the center city which is a very quick walk. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Rooms were small but nice. Bathroom was a good size. Computers with free internet available all day. Nice breakfast. I would definitely recommend to travelers. Good value for the price. No room service after 10pm. 4 star.

Hotel Globo is a great place to stay - about a 10 minute walk to the palace...the only issue is taxis won't take you back to the hotel. You have to call the hotel because the owner uses his own taxi services, and the local taxis are pissed about it.

If we would have known beforehand, it would have been fine, but we checked our luggage and went to the palace first...luckily a taxi driver took pity on us after the others refused.

Besides that, the hotel is gorgeous.

10 minute walk to what you want to see

A very nice hotel in a residential area. Its about a 10 minute walk to the Riva and Diocletian's Palace. The rooms were large by European standards, and the amenities were comfortable. An odd item was that they encased the flat screen TV in some sort of a picture frame, which cut off part of the screen and interfered with the remote's operation. The staff were friendly, although they charged 300 kuna (about $60) for a ride in their van to the airport. There were one or two cafes around the hotel, and a bakery down the street; beyond that, I didn't see too much in the immediate area for restaurant options, although there was plenty within a 5 minute walk, and a lot of good places to eat on the Riva 10 minutes away.

Wir waren nur für eine Nacht, da es ein Zwischenstopp war.
Parkplatz (€ 15,-) direkt vorm Hotel, die Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich.
Nachmittags gab es sogar einen kleinen Snack (Kaffee und Muffins/Strudel).
Der Weg zum Hafen fußläufig etwa 10 min.
Kommen sicher wieder.
Übrigens: das Bett war super, ebenso der Polster (und da bin ich sehr wählerisch).

Sehr freundliche Damen an der Rezeption, sehr hilfsbereit. Der Empfang ist sehr herzlich. Gute Lage. Da Buche ich mich beim nächsten Mal wieder ein.

Albergo con buona colazione, peccato per la camera standard ubicata nel piano interrato con finestrone alto sulla parete posizionato a livello del manto stradale.Ovviamente tutto questo non era specificato sul sito all'atto della prenotazione.

Kom til hotellet seint og dro tidlig neste dag. Rommet var bra. Frokosten neste dag var helt grei

Grei standard på rommet, litt gammelt. Frokosten var ikke mye å skryte av. Kjøkkenveggen var mer opptatt av å prate i tlf enn å komplettere med pålegg og brød.
