The location is excellent. The breakfast is good. The rooms were dated. The interior design is tasteless. The bathrooms were small and in need of renovation. The lobby is not cosy. I had to wait 20 minutes to be checked in because in the evenings, one person mans the reception. Overall, I did not like my experience. I do not believe this hotel deserves a four-star rating. In my view, this is a three-star hotel. I stayed in Hilton and Tufenkian hotels and both were superior.

I was thoroughly disappointed as the hotel failed to disclose the closure of its amenities, a critical factor in making my choice on where to stay. Hotels.com has a section for closures and remodeling, they've had months to update it.

The hotel offered access to the Orange Fitness but the round trip took me 30 min plus taxi cost. After my initial dispute, they offered to cover taxi cost but that didn't make up for the time. After continued disputes, I suggested they need to refund a portion of my stay. They offered an insulting 5%, an amount that didn't bridge the gap between their nightly cost and a competing hotel that had no amenities.

I extended my trip and quickly moved to the Ramada for the duration. It is a newer, cleaner hotel in the same area, would highly recommend it.

Please think thrice before staying here.
1. Rooms are very small
2. Very noisy. If the windows face the street, the noise of the street is such that you might think that you are standing on the street.
If the windows overlook the pool, there is noise from the music.
The staff is either rude or incompetent.
As a gold member of hotels.com, I decided to exercise my right to early check-in.
I was told to wait and I patiently waited at the reception for almost an hour, watching others come ahead of me.
In the end, they gave me a room with the condition that I had to leave it at 10 am.
handing over the key at 10 am, I found out that now I have to wait until my room is ready. This number was given to me only at 5 pm.
But not only that, the next day when I left for the airport, I was told that I must pay for an additional one more stay at the hotel, since I checked into the hotel earlier than 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Of course, no one warned me about the need for such a payment at the time when I was given the key.

Good: The swimming area and pool was good.
Not So Good: The bed. It was not a king size bed. it was two twin that they were put together. There was no fitted sheet on the bed, and in the middle of the night there was a big gape between the two beds, therefore the sheet would came out and we were actually finding ourselves sleeping on the mattress.
I also had a extra bed for my kid, but it was extremally uncomfortable.
The staff were nice and they spoke English, but not so much knowledgeable about the area such as where we may find a PCR test site or where is a groceries store.

I expected this hotel to be top-notch because it was Best Western Plus. However, the service and hospitality were terrible. They charge you for the minibar but it was not stated anywhere before booking the room. Also, the “king-sized bed” was a big joke. It was just two double beds put together and I would get stuck in the middle of it. The room was EXTREMELY hot. My husband and I tried asking for someone to help us fix it, but nothing would work.. come to find out that the entire building was already set at a certain temperature. So, why have thermostats in the room?! We had to keep the window open to circulate some air and not suffocate. The TV was pixelated and barely changed channels. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. You basically have to pay to breathe at this hotel. Choose elsewhere for your stay. I wasted my hard earned money here.

Gorgeous breakfast, comfortable rooms

Very nice renovated ground floor with reception, lounge, bar and restaurant. Nice swimming pool, but crowded. I had a room on 5th floor, unfortunately not to the swimming pool and mount Ararat side, but to the noisy Italy street. But at least with balcony and view of the newly established park. Gorgeous breakfast!

Hotel was very clean , however breakfast is very cramped and there is not long enough time for breakfast . Poor choice of food all cramped in one area I was pushed about porridge for breakfast which I love was cold . If you ordered coffee from the bar it was cold . And they need to smile more they are brilliant when they know you .

The service was amazing -- way above normal! These are great personnel, always there to help.
It's in the heart of Yerevan, so there is the normal traffic noise. Some construction right across the street added to the noise level, but that wouldn't always be the case. Very loud air conditioning, though. Reasonably clean, could do better -- it's an older hotel, needs a re-do. We would definitely return, though, because of the staff.

Good modern hotel near the city centre

Large room, air conditioned. Swimming pool. Cheap but good evening food (although limited options). Good and plentiful breakfast. Ten minutes walk from Republic Square. Front desk staff friendly and helpful, with reasonable English (but no Welsh!!). Cleaning and catering staff friendly.
The only issues were a confusion over pick-up from the airport (but they did not charge us and dropped us back at the airport (at 0630) with no problems), and an ongoing renovation.
Overall, recommended.

This was a super great stay even though it was short! It's right by center within walking distance of the main sights you'll want to see in Yerevan. I didn't get to use the pool or free breakfast unfortunately but those are available. The only thing that was strange was they didn't take a credit card for a deposit and then had to send someone up to the room to make sure I didn't owe them anything else. I was rushing to get to the airport, so I just left because I'm so used to check out just being handing keys and walking out.

Fair hotel, but not really a 4 star one.

I stayed in 3 \"4 star hotels\" during my stay in Yerevan. Each of them had their own problems which did not allow me to consider them a 4 star hotel. As with Best Western Congress hotel, my evaluation is as follows:

Pros: Very close to the republic square. Fairly clean bedroom, Nice breakfast, esp during the weekend.

Cons: The restroom of my room was similar to military service restrooms.... A small shower, 1-2 small towels .... but the worth thing was the lavatory. I could not flush more than once .....

Overall, I would rate it as a 2.5-3 star hotel...

World Cup 2018 - second stop!!!

Very nice place, walking distance to some monuments; centric location! Staff was very pleasant even though their English was not fluent! The only thing down was that I rented a Queen size bed and they gave us two twin beds, they only put them together. I didn’t complaint because we had been traveling for over 24hrs and we were really tired!!! But other than that it was good!

Rare to find a hotel pool in Yerevan

A fairly old property with a nice pool area. It is being updated as of June 2018 although only the reception areas it seems? The rooms seem pretty tired and old style as is the breakfast. I recommend an upgrade to a larger double room with balcony - the nicest rooms easily. Price wise, value overall it's fine.

The supposedly king bed had two separate mattresses with a gap between them, making it a very uncomfortable to sleep on. On the sedond day of my stay they rented out the pool area for an extremely loud party until late night. Shower door and drain were broken.

Great location, it is a short walking distance to Republic Square which is the heart of the city. Museums are there. From there you can walk to Opera Square concerts eat al are there or to the Cascade Art Center which is not to be missed, It is a fantastic piece of architecture which houses a contemporary art collection. Little cafes all along the way to eat or drink. The hotel is clean, quiet, friendly, helpful English speaking staff. Rooms are modest but comfortable with amenities and the TV gets English speaking stations. Breakfast is more than adequate.

Good vibes and fun on transport

Enjoyed trip on new electric train to Gyumri and a very comfortable seat. Sampled the local cuisine which was satisfactory. Could not find any post boxes for post cards but the post office opened on Sunday. and i was sorted. Visits to cathedral and craft art centre went well and even got my i pod fixed

Good location, great value, and friendly staff

I stayed for six nights at this hotel in February, 2018. It is an older hotel, but still in decent shape. Due to remodeling, the main lobby was closed and breakfast was served in a different room. Despite this, the staff made every effort to ensure my stay was pleasant. The breakfast was tasty, but could use a little variation from time to time. I could see only one thing that was varied each day. There are several restaurants nearby within walking distance, and the center square is just a few minutes' walk away. The room was small, but still comfortable. I was a little surprised that the room was very warm, and the temperature could not be regulated. The \"thermostat\" on the wall made no difference. I had to keep the balcony door open at night to be able to sleep. The hotel is next to a busy street, so if you are a light sleeper, it may be a problem. Because of my flight schedule, I was allowed to check out a little late without penalty. Overall, a good place to stay for the location and value.

It was a pleasant experience staying in this hotel. Although there was a little bit of issue, but I appreciate how it has been taken care of and most important to me is the behavior shown. Admitting one's mistake, for me is a gesture of professionalism. There was a miscommunication between the staffs regarding my late check out. (David & Ayuskar). I will not give the full detail anymore as I want to keep the good memories only. I just advise Ayuskar to avoid the same mistake in the future. But I highly admire her for admitting her mistake and sincere apologies.

A 3.5 star hotel close to city center

To begin, the hotel staff was great, always friendly and willing to try to help with any request.

The hotel was in the middle of renovation when I stayed there so things will change. The rooms were clean and modern-ish with good lighting, storage, and a room safe.
The room was quiet with very little noise being heard from other guests in the hallways and no noise from the guests in the adjacent rooms. The room had a mini-fridge and free water, tea, and Nescafe. Some aspects of the room were starting to show their age like the bathroom fixtures and some of the furniture had chips and wear but everything worked properly. The continental breakfast was more than the average American continental breakfast with hot dishes like eggs and potatoes and some Armenian breakfast food. The outdoor pool looked amazing but it was winter so it was not in use.

My only minor complaint was the shower water pressure was low on the 5th floor. This may change with the renovation.

And the one caveat being that if you are a light sleeper, request a room on the street side of the hotel. The backside rooms overlook a park that was a night roosting area for crows. At first light, they made a lot of noise that made it into the room if the window was open.

Surprising Congress Yerevan!

From the start of my stay the staff were very helpful and attentive. My single room was adequate and comfortable and air con help me cope with summer Yerevan heat! Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of European and Armenian food and a nice atmosphere. All the staff from front desk to maid service were friendly and cooperative. Restaurant was also excellent and I enjoyed a few evening meals in the hotel. Next time I visit Yerevan I will definitely book the Congress hotel!

We are very happy with our stay! The staff were so helpful, always with a smile, and they always gave a little extra! Both during days and nights. The hotel room Was good with comfortable beds, a little dusty at the window/on the bed lamps. But nothing to be too bothered about. All you needed was on the room except conditioner and iron. But when we asked for an iron we got it in less than 10 min! We loved the pool-area, where you could get towels especially for the stay at the pool. You didn't have to leave the pool-area if you wanted some food/drink, since the staff at the pool took orders for food and drink. We will definitely be back!
