Walking into the huge reception area was beautiful. Breakfast was very good and drinks at the bar in the evening were nice. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was a very good size. We all had a large comfortable bed. Nice shower.

The staff were always very happy to help. The room was clean and in perfect condition throughout our stay. Although the location is not as convenient as others for traveling by train or bus, there is a shuttle bus available and plenty of taxis if you don’t want to walk or wait.

One of the best hotels that i stayed and especially its staff and services, a truely 5-star hotel. The room is very large and clean. The breakfast both the Japanese style and western style restaurants were excellent, both the food quality and services. The shuttle bus to from the subway station is great, it is running like a clock, not missing a second. The location is right next to the imperial palace and close to some top attractions in the west side of Kyoto. Highly recommended.

Clean room, 5 restaurants but limited options, limited times to eat, limited English speakers. The place is a bit stuffy, shiny but few amenities. Not good in room coffee, no pajamas in our room but clearly being placed in other rooms, not sure if it’s by request or…. It was over $400 usd per night, not worth the cost, not close to much

The room itself was clean and comfortable, but the staff was overwhelming sometimes. When going to the reasturants they try very hard to upcharge you for the more expensive food option or to add alcohol, it felt pushy as I had to say no a few times which is not great for a 5 star hotel. Also it was raining and I came prepared with my own umbrella, but because it was similar color the staff kept trying to take it from me demanding I return it. It made me feel like they thought I was stealing and each time I returned from a walk I got harassed about the damn umbrella, again not something I expect from a 5 star hotel.

Our first trip to Japan. We stayed at Brighton for the full 10 days. The room was large enough and comfortable for three without us feeling like we were on top of one another. Staff was always available and easy to communicate with even though none of us spoke more than three words in Japanese. It was the small things in the room that we enjoyed. The tea and the electric kettle. The glassware provided. Our daughter gave high praise to the quality of the matcha provided with all of the tools needed to make it properly. We enjoyed the large bathroom. The shower and tub were especially appreciated after full days of walking in the humid heat of Kyoto. Brighton made for us a great home base as we explored Kyoto and Osaka.

The hotel was convenient and quiet. We had a corner room with spacious living area. Bar could’ve had more alcoholic choices, especially the wine and cocktails. The prices for general cocktails was higher than other similar caliber hotels.

This was a lovely hotel, with excellent facilities and friendly, helpful staff.
The room was huge and beautifully decorated with lots of extras, such as a coffee machine and tea making equipment.
Breakfast, both the Western & Japanese style were absolutely delicious.
The location was quiet and residential and a few minutes from some lovely restaurants and a 7eleven. It was about 8 mins walk to the nearest bus-stop.

We had a pleasant stay at the Kyoto Brighton. Rooms are spacious and the property is well maintained. Restaurants were very good. Our only complaint was that the beverages in the room refrigerator appeared complimentary but found out at checkout that they were not. Maybe a sign would help.

Stayed here with extended family during our recent visit to Kyoto. From check in to check out all staff were polite and helpful, always ensuring we had whatever we needed.
Big thanks also for assisting in tracking down and arranging for a lost mobile phone to be forwarded to us in Tokyo.

Our stay at this hotel in Kyoto was absolutely amazing! The staff were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make sure our family felt comfortable and welcome.

The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed after long days exploring the city. My kids especially loved how peaceful and quiet it was—we all slept so well! The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with both Japanese and Western options that made our mornings even better.

Everything about this hotel was good! The staff provided outstanding service — very polite, professional, and always ready to help. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained.

The location was challenged — we had to get a taxi to get to the metro and train stations, but the hotel made reservations so we can get in our tour on time.

방이 넓고 침구류가 편해서 잠을 잘 잘 수 있었다. 욕조가 있어 피곤한 하루를 마무리하는 데 많은 도움이 되었다. 조식은 일본정식이 맛있었고 정갈했고 조식부페는 음식 종류가 많지 않아서 아쉬웠지만 맛이 있었다. 근처 지하철역까지 셔틀버스가 있어서 자주 이용했다. 만족스러운 숙소였다.

The hotel is lovely and staff very friendly. It is in a quiet area with a few places to eat. There is a restaurant which we didn't try. There is a free shuttle bus to and from a subway station which was really useful as the hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the nearest subway stop.

From the moment I stepped onto the premises, the Kyoto Brighton Hotel was a beautiful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful; the room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything I needed, plus lovely little surprises including a spray to freshen up my travel clothes, and a kit for preparing my own matcha. I ate at the onsite restaurant, which was delicious and had great value. I cannot recommend this place enough.

The room was a good size with a king bed. The bathroom was large with a great walk in shower and bath. It was next to the imperial palace and park which was great to walk in.
The hotel was in a quiet area on the outskirts of town.
