My wife had always wanted to visit the Archaeological Park of Pompeii and we linked this into our trip to Rome for a six Nations Rugby Match. I found this hotel on the website and was impressed by the reviews it had received. I'm glad to say they all proved to be accurate as this was a great hotel to stay at. The first stand out was how friendly and helpful the staff were. Check in was painless and efficient and we were given a small map of the town showing some of the better restaurants to visit along with the closest entrance to the Park. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. The next morning after a good breakfast we were offered and accepted a lift to the park by one of the staff who also pointed out some of the other attractions modern Pompeii had to offer. Really happy to recommend this hotel to you.

The hotel has private parking which is quite good for those traveling in rental cars. The room is standard simple and clean. Bathroom is alright, the cubicle doors are a little fiddly but got perfect water pressure. The staff is amazing, friendly and tentative, provided suggestions for dining. We had a delicious seafood dinner at one of the restaurants they recommended nearby!

Hotel Maiuri was a gem in Pompeii! beautiful clean rooms; nice professional staff and a lovely breakfast included. We were able to walk to it from the train station. We walked to a restaurant and had a lovely evening. The ruins were a bit of a hike but our group likes to walk. I would return to Hotel Maiuri without hesitation!

Room was nice. The street in front of the hotel and the surrounding area is a bit random, but somehow it's only a 20 min walk from the centre and from one of the entrances of the Pompeii archaeological site. Staff were excellent, offered some good advice on how to best experience the site and the town. Breakfast was ok. Free parking is handy.

Overall a solid option for a 1 or 2 night stay if you are visiting the Pompeii sites.

I have stayed in many hotels in Europe but none come up to superb standards I found in Hotel Maiuri. All the staff were welcoming often went well beyond what you expect today.
The room facilities were of the highest quality and everything you could possibly wish for.
The continental breakfast met everyone’s taste and again could not be faulted.
Room cleanliness was immaculate. The lovely garden was an added bonus. I can highly recommend this Hotel.

The hotel lies a short drive from the ruins and the cathedral. The rooms are rather small, are in good condition, clean, offering basic comfort. The bathroom is equipped with a shower.
The breakfast was good but the breakfast room is squeezed. Internet was fast and reliable. The staff was exemplary accurate information and in providing service. Parking is free. Opposite of the hotel is a restaurant and a pizzeria which is popular with local clients.

Very basic, budget hotel. Basically a place to sleep for one or two nights while exploring the ruins which are walking distance away. Surprisingly good breakfast and the staff were outstanding. I'm happy for what I paid. If management is reading this I'd like to point out the excellent service we received from Gianello, the late night front desk staff who checked us in. Friendly, knowledgeable about the area and transportation needs, and just a generally pleasant check in experience.

We stayed 3 nights in 2 rooms with our big “kids”. Hotel M has very Clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. Parking is safe and convenient. Super friendly owner and staff! The owner goes out of his way to help us get CNG Metano for our car rental! He and the staff also help us find everything — laundry, making our itineraries more efficient, good restaurant… etc . The restaurant across the hotel is superb! 5.0 on trip advisor, and the hotel owns it too. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful!

This family owned property went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. They also were very knowledgeable about the Pompei ruins and were able to guide us on how best to visit. The hotel was lovely and clean, nice room. The only downside was that we could hear our neighbours in the mornings especially those with kids so an noisy early wake up call for us.
The staff were amazing. Have lots of tips of where to go and how to get there. Recommended restaurants to eat at. And when our transfer was late, they rang the company themselves to find out where it was. Could not have asked for better staff.

Hotel near Pompeii

The staff are great and nice. The room could be cleaner. The floor was very sticky. And this is not a 4 star hotel. Bathroom was small and the location was a little bit noisy. I regretted I paid for 2 nights.
It was easy to find the hotel and easy to park. We walked to Pompeii excavation - 10 to 15 minutes.
I do recommend to visit the Cathedral. It is very pretty inside.

My wife and I stayed in this hotels a night in this hotel and loved it. The property is a little far to walk to the scavi but other than that I can only say good things about Maiuri. Andrea, I'm not sure if he is the owner, but anyhow, was very nice and helpful. He even fixed a broken handle on my luggage. He called a taxi driver who is his friend, Armando I believe, very friendly as well and charged us a very reasonable amount to drive us to the train station. I highly recommend this hotel as it was very clean and roomy as well.

I have booked 4 rooms for 4 couples, the rooms are marked \"non-smoke\" rooms when I have booked.
But the hotel gave us 3 rooms are smoked and we asked for non-smoke, they just told us \"sorry, we don't have any non-smoke rooms available.\" We felt so upset since we are allergy for the smell and we could not sleep very well. The hotel owner/manager told us that we booked the rooms from \"expedia\" that means we could not have good rooms, because we paid less?!

From the moment we arrived to the time we left, the staff could not have been anymore accommodating. Very friendly, cleaned room everyday, fed us on arrival despite being past their breakfast times. Gave us a lift to the ruins. Booked our transport up to Vesuvius. For my 50th birthday they presented me with champagne and fruit and even put me in a room with a view of Vesuvius! We will definitely recommend this hotel to people wishing to visit Pompeii.

The mostly English speaking staff was very professional and pleasant-eager and ready to help with any question I had. The place has recently been redone so everything is spotless. It was a short walk to downtown and maybe 20 minutes to the Pompeii excavations. Secure Free parking was included. It is a welcoming oasis in a neighborhood somewhat on the rough side. I would definatly stay there again.

The Hotel Maiuri in modern Pompei is within walking distance of the church square and one of the entrances to the ruins of ancient Pompeii. The hotel has its own restaurant directly across the street. We had dinner there several nights during the week we stayed in town and were never dissatisfied.

The greatest thing about the hotel, though, is the people who work there--friendly, energetic, informative. When we asked for a taxi to some farther part of town, staff members drove us. They even took us to the rail station on the morning we left for Calabria.

Our pidgin Italian and the staff's command of English made it easy to find our way around town, even to a laundromat.

If we go back to Pompei, we will stay at the Maiuri again.

The hotel has 4 stars but I don't know where they got those stars from. As an experienced traveler I can definitely say this hotel is in 2 star category and it doesn't deserve even 3 stars. After checking-in I realized the toilet in my room was dirty and I directly went to the reception but the receptionist couldn't speak English well but as far as he understood me he said he can't do anything about to resolve the problem. Breakfast was poor and the toaster was unclean.

A very nice experience, staff were terrific, my adapter for charging phone laptop etc didn't work right, but the staff a front desk lent me one free of charge for my stay. The shower was tiny, but having said that at least it worked well and the plumbing was good, which couldn't be said of everywhere we stayed.

Nice hotel, walking distance to the ruins

We loved our stay at Hotel Maiuri. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was amazing (coffee, eggs made fresh, croissants and pasteries, fresh fruit, etc), and our balcony had a beautiful view. It was walking distance to the ruins of Pompeii and to the train station, both roughly 15 minutes. Very clean. There is also a great restaurant right across the street, super affordable but AMAZING food and wine.

The only downside I can say was that the WiFi was super slow, which was annoying as I didn't have a data plan so was relying strictly on WiFi, but really not the end of the world -- good to have the excuse to disconnect from reality for a night :)

We stayed here as it was near Pompeii where we were touring, 5mins drive from the site of the ruins. The hotel has free parking.

The Hotel itself looks a little dated, however the rooms were clean and the service was very good, as was the breakfast surprisingly.

The kitchen staff spoke limited English, however it was funny trying to explain what we needed and eventually we managed to get to an understanding, try the tomatoes they are amazing.

They had the Fortitudo Pallacanestro Bologna basketball team staying over at the same time, so the hotel is also used by Italians.

Very convenient hotel, served its purpose well.

It's location was pretty good. Only a ten minute walk to the main square and a further five minute walk to the Scavi. Also not too far away from the train station to get to other Pompei sites.
I'm not sure there is much else to say. If I was to return to Pompei, I'd probably try another location.

Sweet and friendly staff; close to Pompei Ruins

We were warmly welcomed. Every staff member was friendly and very helpful. We found our room clean and fresh and very comfortable. Hotel has an arrangement with a nearby campground so that hotel guests can park their cars for free all day while visiting the ruins; the campground is just across from the entrance to Pompeii's ruins. Right across the street from the hotel was an excellent restaurant; it was the best meal of our trip! When we checked out in the morning, we were given a sack lunch for our drive and were told that they were \"honored to have us stay in their hotel\". Ours was a very pleasant stay and a good experience. We highly recommend this hotel.

Do not stay here!

We feel very misled by this hotel. For a supposed 4 star hotel, it was dirty, lacked amenities and far from everything. Upon arriving, the front desk clerk tried to charge me for my prepaid room. Luckily, I had the confirmation from hotels,com printed out to prove we prepaid. Our room itself was clean but a bit cramped. A/C worked wonderfully. The bathroom, however, was horrible. The shower was coated in mildew and grime. Neither of us wanted to even shower without sandals on to protect our feet. Again...NOT acceptable for a supposed 4 star hotel. The website was incredibly misleading regarding the distance of the hotel from the Pompeii ruins. The hotel was miles away from anything except for one, extremely over priced restaurant. We walked around a bit as we had no car (huge mistake as cabs charge €20 for a ride anywhere, which is ridiculous) and the neighborhood the hotel is in is extremely sketchy and extremely dirty with trash strewn everywhere. There are numerous hotels way closer to tourist attractions in Pompeii. Trust me, stay there and stay away from here.

This was the best hotel I stayed during my holiday. Is a good 4 start hotel. Modern and clean with helpfull staff.
The sorrounding are is not great (15 mins walk to centre) but very convinient when with a car. It also comes with free parking next to the Pompei ruins (ask at reception). Limited choice for breakfast but tasty cake :). I would stay here again.

Good place to stay for Pompei

We spent three nights at Hotel Maiuri in Pompei (June 2011). The hotel was as advertised and we were very satisfied with our stay. We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Pompei.

We were in 309 and had a terrific view of the Amalfi peninsula from our balcony. The room itself was a triple, with a queen sized bed and a twin. The room was small but adequate for my wife and I, and our nephew. The room was clean and the service was good. However the television was almost unusable.

They had a continental breakfast every day. The filled croissants are especially tasty. They highlight their restaurant in the website, but it is across the street (only breakfast is served in the hotel). The restaurant menu is limited (especially for lunch) and is only in Italian. I honestly wouldn't recommend the restaurant. However the hotel is an easy walk to the central business area of Pompei with several good restaurants.

The desk staff was helpful, though their English is limited. One person had a little English, but the others didn't speak any. If you know any basic Italian this won't be a problem. They will find a way to help you.

They have free parking and have a deal with a Camping resort for free parking near the entrance to the Scavi (Pompei ruins). This is a real asset, because parking can be expensive and difficult in Pompei.

Struttura ben organizzata, personale preparato, cordiale ed educato. Se dovessimo tornare a Pompei non avremmo dubbi nella scelta dell’hotel, sicuramente sceglieremmo lo stesso hotel

The hotel gave me the key for a room which was already occupied by another guest, including their luggage. They then switched me to a room in which the aircon did not function propery (at more than 30 degrees outside!) and with urine marks on its bedding.

Hôtel très propre et un peu à l’écart mais facile de se déplacer à pieds. Tranquille avec stationnement. Personnel très accueillant et à l’écoute. Bon petit-déjeuner complet. Endroit à considérer sans hésiter.
