The staff was outstanding, super helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The facilities are very clean including the indoor amazing aquarium full of incredible sea creatures! The location accommodates families with children, so there were many children. It still remained quiet and enjoyable. Lots of amenities to make use of and activities to do. Fitness facility was just right.

It is a beautiful property with an indoor and outdoor pool. There are slides at the outdoor pool. They have a private beach with a boardwalk to walk on (and take great sunset pictures on). There is a buffet restaurant and yakiniku restaurant on-site. And, so much more. A very enjoyable stay.

Not as good as it seems on advertising. Food was not good , staff was okay. We stayed there for the mega zip line but it is poorly managed. Close early without notice. It is like hit or miss. We didn’t get to go on until the say we are leaving. Would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel had a beautiful fish pond in the foyer, with skate, puffer fish and many other fish, and food to feed them with. A whole wall of the ground floor was dedicated for drawing on and at the end of the week was repainted, great for kids. Outside was a huge lake of water with various types of fish and a turtle 🐢! The greatest buffet breakfast with so many different options and freshly baked croissants. The rooms were good but a little tired looking

I stayed in the South Tower. The staff, amenities, facilities, food, rooms, and spa were excellent! I have been to a few islands on Hawaii, Boracay Philippines, Cayman Islands, Aruba, Curacao, Miami Beach, and the Florida Keys for beach vacations. I am only mentioning this to emphasize that Okinawa is a top 3 destination for me and this Sheraton is probably the best resort I have stayed in. I love this place!

The standout feature of this property is undoubtedly its location. To be honest, I likely wouldn’t have chosen this hotel if it weren’t for its beachfront setting. The rooms are in serious need of renovation. While the size was adequate and the balcony was a nice touch, the décor and fixtures felt outdated, and there was a noticeable mildew smell. Despite setting the A/C to the lowest temperature, the room remained a bit humid for my preference. The lobby, which features an aquarium, had a strong fishy odor—an interesting but somewhat unpleasant quirk. During our stay, only one restaurant was open, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with both à la carte and buffet options. Fortunately, the food was actually quite decent. One of the biggest highlights of the hotel was the beach activities. Guests have the option to purchase a pass for a one-time fee of 4,000 yen per person, which grants unlimited access to a variety of amenities. This includes kayak and water bike rentals, zip line access, beach chairs with umbrellas, indoor pool entry, and more. This added a great value to the stay and made the beachfront experience even more enjoyable. I also booked a spa treatment during my stay and had a fantastic 90-minute massage and facial for 20,000 yen (about $135 USD). It was a wonderful experience and definitely worth it. While the hotel had its quirks, it also offered some great features that made the stay enjoyable.

There is practically one restaurant serving buffet in this resort. We didn’t have a car so we were practically prisoners of this resort during our three night stay.
One waiting staff, about 50 years old asked my wife’s age when taking our order. This was very inappropriate and unacceptable. We were both 80 something. After taking the order he never returned.

Everything was amazing except the floor in the room. It was kept very clean but it’s the kind you put outside on your patio. It was very rough on your feet if you want to walk barefoot. FYI I stayed after the reno.

The hotel was extremely family friendly and had tons of families with children. There was a game room, indoor playground, and arts and crafts room on the ground floor. The family SENSES dining area had a duplo Lego area to play.

I can’t say much about the pools since I didn’t swim, but my 2 year old son (who loves pools) didn’t seem impressed and didn’t beg to go in. The beach was beautiful and the bridges were great. You could see crabs all over the rocks.

View from the balcony was spectacular.

The only reason to stay in this resort is the zip line and the drone shooting service. The staff can speak very good English and very friendly. Other facilities a bit old. Everything need to pay, parking need to pay, sauna and swimming pool access also need to pay and beach facilities also need to pay. The detergent for washing machine also not included, either need to bring yourself or buy from vending machine. The hotel lobby has a very heavy sea smell, which only available in the lobby area.

The property was nice overall. The biggest problem was there wasn’t many dinning options, especially during the weekdays. Also,
The restrictions on outdoor activities was stupid. We tried to snorkel in the roped off swimming area with just a mask and snorkled, water 5’ deep or less and we were yelled at and stopped because we had to wear life jackets. Then we went on a paid snorkel excursion with wetsuits and we had to wear life jackets. We couldn’t go down the slide with our young kids.
It was things Like these that made it a pain to use the facilities.

The resort really made this trip for us and the town was at times unwelcoming for non-Okinawa/ Japanese people (possibly because of the language barrier). There was a serious lack of transport outside of the resort. We couldnt rent a car and the bus transportation is confusing and unreliable but this is NOT the resorts fault, this is a lack of local resources.

Overall it's a pretty hotel by the beach. The only disappointing part is that you have to pay extra to use anything and the food is not great at all. We ate the breakfast but went to other restaurants for other meals. Would recommend but keep in mind that the price to stay does increase if you want to use amenities. Also everything is closed very early (I.e access to beach and outdoor pool ends at 5:30pm), indoor pool closes at 8pm so there is nothing to do past 8pm which was pretty long and boring as there are 2 ping pong and 1 pool table that is constantly busy. Very clean and friendly staff though and the beach was well maintained.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff in the "Senses" restaurant were amazing. Our son has severe food allergies and they worked with the chefs to ensure that he had a safe meal to eat each day. They took amazing care of him. Fantastic service from them all.
The food was very nice too.

Our room was comfortable, and we loved having the balcony with the gorgeous ocean view.

The Hotel has an indoor pool and Japanese baths as well as an outdoor pool and various watersports, which was great.

We went snorkeling to the Blue Cave, which was fantastic and all of the staff on the beach taking the water sports were fantastic.

Was extremely disappointed that as a guest at the Hotel, we had to pay to do non-motorized sports, such as Kayaking, to sit on a lounge on the beach and to use the pools. Surely this should be part of your room cost like other Hotels and Resorts.
Mini Golf was offered but the course was very overgrown and not well looked after, we didn't even bother having a game.

We loved Okinawa and our stay at The Sheraton was great. I just believe that paying guests should be provided with some complimentary activities and that the grounds need to be maintained to a higher standard.

We had an amazing stay here! The rooms were very clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. They had both Japanese and more western breakfast options, with an omurice station, fresh croissants made every half hour or so, curry, fish, fresh fruit just to name a few options.

The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, making our stay extra special.

As for the private beach, you can pay about 4400 for use of the indoor/outdoor pool, kayaking, paddle boats, a beach chair (coats less for children). This is a one time charge for use throughout your stay. You can still access the beach without this pass- you just will not be entitled to a beach chair. Both pools were quite nice.

They also have an onsen that is quite nice after a long day!

We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!

Sheraton has so much to offer families for a great stay— beach, pools, water activities, saltwater open aquarium, games, children’s play room, evening light show, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach and pool access! We recommend this hotel only for that! Furniture and appliances in room could be updated and cleaned better since we found a lot of dust under the TV. Breakfast was mediocre and nothing was amazing about it. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel to family and friends who are looking to spend time at a hotel with lots of activities to do.

The hotel presentation is very upgraded, and the rooms. Nice and cleaned. We stayed for 4 days. I don’t write bad reviews and I haven’t gone on Yelp or even Google.

I’ve stayed in Sheraton’s before. But for the price that I paid I would have expected exceptional conditions or all-inclusive!

-The pool is nice, but needs to be upgraded. The paint is peeling and you can see the paint patches. All of us had blue spots on our feet from the first day we stayed.

-Maybe it’s a COVID thing, but this is a 4 Star hotel. While the rules says time and dates subject to change without notice. The pool and beach was closed everyday at 05:30pm. When it was cleary posted on website 6pm. Yet in the 4 days no one took the time to update its website. Really? It’s summer and the sun and heat is clearly sticking out at this time. Wish I would have known beforehand.

-My other complaint would be the room. We had a toddler and still give them some milk, but were was the microwave? How do I re-heat if any, some of the food we had left over?

-The room was too noisy, the AC. The air flowed in the room, sounded like we were in a tunnel with the wind blowing by. It wasn’t till the 3rd night that the light in the hallway really lit up our room. Yes, since the door has a gap all the light was coming in. We wanted a nice dark room so I decided to put a towel down to block the light. And guess what? That also stopped the howling noice. Wow…

-Pay extra for indoor pool? Wow…

High hopes but not worth it

At check in we were told that the only option for us to use parasol and beach chairs was to buy a $35 (each) resort pass, and that either both of us had to have it or neither of us could. We weren't interested in the other activities the resort pass included, but agreed to get it anyway, only to find out two days into our stay that they had an alternative 'pay per use' option. What's worse, as of now, this 'optional extra' isn't included in the Hotels.com small print page.

The hotel is fine and the food is good (if pricey). We also found the following:

1. Each time we ate at the grill, at least one item we ordered was no longer available, but we weren't informed this until after ordering it and the server coming back to tell us 5 or so minutes later

2. The spa wouldn't honour the discount voucher we found in our room if both I and my wife wanted a massage. Even though only one of us was expecting the discount, they tried to tell us that to use it, only one of us could have a massage (I appreciate language barrier issues, we asked and rephrased 3 or 4 times and got the same response)

3. After waiting a few minutes at the counter, we were shown to seats in what was clearly an area for families with younger children, and we clearly didn't have any. The main restaurant area was not busy, as they reseated is immediately when I asked.

Only after all this did we complain to the duty manager, and the resort pass was refunded, but overall a disappointing experience.

A fabulous on-the-beach hotel we visited for 2020 New Years day. The hotel had many fantastic shows and we really enjoyed everything, including the friendly boating trip and gorgeous breakfast. Many thanks to Ms. Masako Bargamotov, Director of Rooms, who was even helpful in arranging events outside of our stay at the Sheraton. I would say this particular Sheraton is one of the best Sheratons because of the “Omotenashi spirits” rooted in the Japanese mindset of hospitality centering around care rather than expectation. I highly recommend it!!

The fish pond in the lobby was really unique! There are many different types of exotic fish, my kid never got tired of seeing and feeding the fish everyday during our 5 day stay. The lobby kids playground is also convenient, spacious and fun. You can also draw on the wall (Wall of Expression) and make arts, so i feel this hotel is perfect for my 2.5 year old. It is also quite conveniently located with a big convenient store just 5 min walk away and plenty restaurant options 15 minutes walk away. Will stay there again!

Big name, disappointing experience

Located right beside the beach with nice sea view from the room balcony (which available everywhere in Okinawa). However, there’s not much you can do in the winter.
Many many other hotel in Okinawa offer much better value for the money. With much more amenities facilities too.
And the parking is quite far away from the hotel.

可是，從check in 開始，就知道原因。除了房間，什麼也是額外收費。包括停車場、游泳池、大浴場、沙灘椅。
如果你不介意另外付費，酒店是有好多設施的，包括對著海的教堂、香蕉船、水上單車、波波池等。
如果要在酒店吃早餐，最好check in 時便決定加錢。因為之後再決定，價錢是比較貴。

We can’t wait to come back! We don’t know very much Japanese so it was a huge plus that someone in almost every department could understand and speak a little English.

The outdoor pool and waterslides were closed for the winter season just days before our arrival, but we did not know this at the time of booking. This was a large reason we chose this particular resort to stay at. The other amenities such as the indoor pool, sauna, fitness room, etc. all required an additional fee to use on top of the room charge. This was also not made known to us at the time of booking. We chose this hotel because it appeared to have the best amenities, and we were willing to pay a higher price for the room to use these. However, due to the above-mentioned reasons, we weren’t able to use any of them without extra charge. The only good thing we found about this resort was that it was conveniently located to a fantastic restaurant we found called Shima Robata Fuji that we ate at each night of our stay.

Definitely feel like I am in a resort. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. Check in was easy. Was sad that they closed the Megazip and the other bungee ride during our stay because they are shooting commercial. The room was big and got a nice view. We booked the partial sea view room. The amenities were great. The beach is clean. We swam in the water for a bit. Will definitely come back to this hotel if I visit Okinawa again.

The place is gorgeous!!! It's a pretty penny and for that the shuttle from and to the airport should be free. On top of that the first bus (third party resource that goes to various hotels) leaves at 9:25am and the hotel is 1.25hrs away from the airport. That is not enough time for a 11:50am flight. There should be more flexibility with that. That was super stressful for us.

Great views and spa. Confusing layout and pricing.

The hotel is very nice and the staff are helpful. However the meals are very over priced for what you get (even by resort standards). I was also told at check in that my breakfast would be included, and then I was charged 3500 yen per person for it. Additionally, the activities that can be booked are a bit lacking. I attempted to rent jet skis only to find out that the price (3k yen) is for ten minutes riding on the BACK of the jetski while a resort member drives it around.

The attached spa is great, and well priced for it's services. It was the highlight of our stay.

This resort was so beautiful and relaxing. The private beach infront of it was breathtaking, the buffet breakfast had a great selection of food, and it had a nice family friendly environment. Inside the property was stunning as it had an indoor fish pool near the stairway and every night there was a water lightshow. The resort offered many activities. I would definetly recommend doing snorkling in the Blue Cave!

Nice hotel and lots of water activities on their beach front, swimming area nice, swimming pools were nice with water slides, snorkeling was excellent and recommend, recommend the zip line which takes you from one side of the beach to the other, excellent views, rooms are very big and very thing clean. Staff friendly and helpful and no issues with out stay there for 5 nights.

The only bad thing would be no tour assistance for surrounding areas. So u have to hire taxi for the day who will take you to various tourist spots

The hotel restaurants are quite expensive and many guest were going out to local restaurants outside instead. So hotel restaurant was very empty.

Awesome time at Sunmarina! My 9year old loved it! There were lots of activities available—he enjoyed swimming, the pools, kayaking and pedal bikes—and zip lining in a beautiful resort! Oh, and ping pong, foozball, crafts and light show, etc inside..perfect for family fun. Within walking distance is an Okinawan restaurant that was very fun—be sure to make reservations ahead of time. We left Saturday and it started getting busy so it’s probably best to go weekdays and I can imagine it being quite busy during peak season. We went during spring break, end of March.

Tropical paradise.

We loved the hotel. It was beautiful and had a nightly light/water fountain show in the lobby. Staff was attentive and friendly. Our room was spacious and clean. Only downside was that there was limited eating options. Only two restaurants. There was a cafe by beach, but it was closed because it was off season when we were there. The hotel is right on the beach with clear tropical water.

The hotel booking does not include the use of resort facilities (swimming pool, mini golf, etc), which is odd. To use the facilities, aside from the gym, you have to pay an additional fee. Usually, pools are always included with a booking. Aside from that, the hotel is beautiful and service was great. If you plan to stay here, best to book a car, as it is a drive to all the attractions.

I like the location near from a lot of restaurents in town. I didn t like that I have to pay 2700 yen for chair on the beach when i am a customer of the hotel this should be free samething for the inside pool especially that the outdoor pool was close

Family friendly hotel. Lots of activities to keep kids busy.
Spent 3 days in hotel without going out. Should have more dining options for Vegetarians / Vegans. Breakfast time was too crowded. Staff in Restaurant is not used to handle a la carte orders.

Beautifully designed new hotel on a beach; geared toward families with small children. My room was exquisitely designed with a beautiful combination of colors and textures (South Tower with ocean view). You could see the ocean from the bathtub. Breakfast buffet was varied with food appealing to both western and eastern tastes. Staff speaks little to no English. Strict rules on beach access and snorkeling that are too limiting for this California girl! They want you to remain within a little roped in area and you can't just jump into the water and snorkel. It's far from Naha so get an International driver permit so you can roam if you want to. You can walk to restaurants near by as dining there is a little stilted and pricey. No bar during the day unless you want two choices at the pool snack bar. There's a Family Mart nearby with a variety of beverages.

Nice hotel with good facility.

So many activities especially for water sport lovers. The marine lives pool in the main lobby is amazing, it was one of the reason of our second visit. Good buffet breakfast, onsen and swimming pool facilities. Nice private beach.
