We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful little boutique hotel, right in the middle of all the action in Rethymno. The room itself was lovely and came with a free bottle of wine. Staff was super friendly at check in and breakfast was fantastic. Just stayed for one night, but would’ve been quite happy to stay longer.

Disappointed with the hotel. Looks nice from the photos and from outside. Hotel staff is polite and helpful, however the hotel room is poorly maintained and not well maintained. Housekeeping also doesn’t seem complete, with no vanity items(eg cotton pads) at all, and water is also provided only on first day despite staying for 4 nights. Window catch is also spoilt so the window cannot be totally sealed. Also, the hotel said that 10% discount will be provided to hotel guests who dine at their restaurant (called Veneto Restaurant). When we dined there, we had made reservations beforehand and though the service seem

Beautiful property in a great location. Staff was very attentive. The buffet breakfast had an excellent selection. It’s in a lovely walking section of the old city but there is parking at the Port parking lot about 5 minutes away. Will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful little hotel. Large well appointed rooms with cute view of the courtyard and fortress. Only wish we had a few extra pillows. I’m sure they would have given us sp but we were only here for 1 night. Wish I could have stayed longer and explored the town more or enjoyed the wine tasting here.

The staff was truly amazing-Elena at the front desk, Spyros at dinner and the entire crew made us feel special. They helped us up the stairs with our luggage and made a special table for us at dinner under the bougainvillea tree. The dinner was amazing, one of the best we've had in Greece. The early morning taxi to the airport with Theodore was punctual and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again when in Rethymno!

First of all…the hotel is beautiful-ti-fuuul! Second of all, it is very conveniently located to so many dining and shopping options! But the staff made it over the top…they were kind, caring, and went over and beyond to accommodate any need necessary…from something as simple as an iron, calling for a taxi, up to watching over a friend that was just not ready to return to her room after many drinks and making sure she got back to her room safely. The only one thing that I will advise, is the photos of the room upon reservation may not be the same room you will get. There are many different room styles, but with that said, they are all different but nice!! I will absolutely stay here my next trip back to Rethymno!!

We loved our three nights at the charming Veneto Hotel, well situated in walkable Rethymno. Each room throughout the hotel is unique, and authentically appointed in antique Cretan style. The staff did a good job cleaning my room but never replenished the coffee. They also forgot the complimentary sparkling wine until I reminded them of it. I didn't realize there were a couple of flights of stairs to get to my room, and there was no elevator, and I'm getting older. It was a minor chore to do the climbing. But I probably needed the exercise, so I won't complain about that. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Central Hotel in old Rethymno
A great Boutique hotel in the centre of the old town, as soon as you step out the door you're met by restaurants and shops. The staff were great and very accommodating going the extra mile to ensure your stay was perfect. The hotel is not for sunbathers unless you want to walk to the local beach but for visitors wanting to experience the old town this is a perfect setting.

Veneto Boutique Hotel in Rethymno is in a fantastic location in the Old Town section of the city, near great restaurants (including right next door!), sights, and shops. It was just the first week of June and coming out of COVID so the restaurant at the hotel was not open yet but it looks amazing and was highly recommended.
The room was comfortable, but I don't recommend the room (4 I believe) most highly because it was fairly dark and felt closed in. The sitting room had no windows and the bedroom only had the door going out to a small courtyard. The courtyard was somewhat nice, but not at all private. The room above us often played music loudly - I think to cover the sounds of our own conversations since we were right below their window.
Every other aspect of our stay was great. The breakfast was delicious and varied, the staff were pleasant and very helpful, and the location is fantastic.

Parking in the old town was a bit of a problem but they directed me to one of the nearby public parking areas a few minutes walk from the hotel. GPS was a bit finicky in the area so the receptionist went outside to find and greet me when I had trouble finding the place. They also recommended places to see around the city.
Overall I'd be happy to stay again some day.

Really enjoyed staying at this property. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property itself was superb in a historical sense. The problems I have are with the graffiti that is on the surrounding buildings and the unevenness of the stairs. While rustic, I was worried about my elderly parents ascending and descending those stairs every day.

Beautiful building packed with history. Suite was delightful and very comfortable. Location in old town was excellent. Breakfast adequate but not a great deal of choice. Cooked breakfast was OK but eggs were overcooked and scrambled egg was rubbery. Plenty of pastries and cakes but I would not normally have that for breakfast. Evening meal was OK but quite formal compared to some of the livelier places nearby. Bit pricey for facilities on offer but I suspect we were paying for a slice of history.

my husband and I spent our 2 nights here to celebrate our anniversary during our trip to Crete. Yiannis and his staff are the most welcoming and lovely people they were so hospitable to us and made sure we had everything we needed each day. The hotel is in the heart of old town rethymno we couldn't of asked for a more romantic, traditional cretan experience. The food in the restaurant was beyond delicious and thank to Yiannis who manages the wine cellar he paired the best wines with our dinner orders. We love The Veneto and will visit again when we come back to Crete.

We had a wonderful stay at Veneto! It was like a magical place and so elegant. We loved all the historical touches of the hotel. It's located in the heart of Rethymno and walking distance to everything. We also enjoyed a fantastic dinner experience with their personal sommelier taking great care and showing us the wine cellar. He also paired wine with our food and it was probably the best meal we had all trip. We were even able to buy some wine to bring home. The entire experience was absolutely amazing. The Venetian Hotel is a beautiful building well located in central Rethymno. The furnishings especially in the dinning room and on couches in room were lovely. They were if traditional Cretan white fabrics.. cotton and lace.
A former monastery. Spacious room. Modern bathroom. All would have been fine but the room allocated has a tight steep spiral staircase that I could not use. The bed was upstairs! But bathroom downstairs.
I could not have negotiated that at night dams I have a sore left foot.
We were offered drinks at 6 pm on arrival. The receptionist insisted on making a firm time. I was going to talk about difficulty of this room with her.Unfortunately no one turned up for drinks or was in reception.
Hence I slept in the wooden sofas downstairs for two nights.
Buffet breakfast was good but again no staff around.
The setting and ambience of hotel is nice although light is poor.
I felt that if you are going to offer a difficult feature in a room we should know in advance.
We had confusion with this booking from the start. The receptionist showed us the room with the stairs with the little double bed upstairs and tv upstairs and said it would be romantic!

The hotel was ok with friendly staff . The room was very basic . The hotel is located in the old town . There is no parking near by and we had to walk 0.5 Km with our luggage to get to the hotel . We only had carry on luggage so it was not too bad . If someone had a lot of luggage or does not want to walk in the heat 0.5 km to get to the hotel that would be a problem . I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was good . In summary you really have to like staying in this type of hotel .

Historic hotel in ok town.
The hotel is in a good location close to the Venetian harbour and lots of restaurants but the hotel itself was nothing too special. Looking at the website, we appear to have had the least impressive room. You have to go in and out through the restaurant and while most Greek people seem very friendly, one of the restaurant staff appeared to go out of her way to ignore us and didn't once say hello. We were there for a week.

This hotel was very unique. A converted 14th-century monastery, it was a beautiful building and a special place to stay. The location was great, right in the heart of Old Town. However, if you are driving, it is a bit difficult to get to and you have to park in a nearby city parking lot. They make your breakfast as ordered and the food it delicious (especially the chocolate croissants!) The only issue we had was the internet was a bit spotty, but the staff did their best to help. I recommend staying here if you love history and want a unique experience!

We booked a suite. Email from hotel provided clear and helpful driving directions to a nearby carpark and from there to walk to the hotel - about 300m along the tiny Rethymnon streets. Very welcoming reception. Wide staircase (no lift) to room. Very nicely furnished sitting area. Everywhere spotlessly clean, comfortable bed with modern well equipped en suite. Kettle, cups etc but no tea/coffee - however the first thing we were given on our arrival was a cup of coffee in our room. No 24 hour reception but we were given a key to the front door and a telephone number to call if we needed anything (we didn't). No street noise during the night or in the morning. A good breakfast in the restaurant. Overall a very pleasant stay which we would be happy to repeat and recommend.

Lovely stay. The hotel has a lot of character, and friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable and the most comfortable one we have slept on in our travels in Greece. The toilet seat was a little unstable and needs to be fixed, but other than this, the amenities were very good.

Not a 4 star boutique hotel...looks are superficial and it lacks substance. The toilet was dirty, small (a little wardrobe-like room converted into a toilet), the shower room was leaking water and the toilet flush would take ages to fill up and was being noisy, nowhere to put toiletries on. The safe was not securely attached to anything, the wardrobe looked cheap, the interior design was outdated. Hotel staff not teribbly helpful and reception both at arrival and at breakfast lacked a welcoming touch. Breakfast was served in a nice courtyard, but the quality of food was disappointing, with food being not freshly made. We were also impressed by the lack of privacy in the courtyard's toilet as we could see through from our table the toilet seat.

Undoubtedly a beautiful building with a pretty courtyard but that's as far as it goes. Room unimpressive, kids slept on makeshift beds, bathroom badly in need of updating and verging on grubby. So noisy, kept awake by pots clanging and noisy women until 1.30am. Food in restaurant nice but not sure I'd have chosen to go there had I not paid for half board beforehand , we had a very restricted choice of 3 items. Breakfast ok, basic and we had to pay extra for a decent coffee. No Parking onsite. Hotel had not charged me upon booking as my confirmation told me so I was presented with a €260 bill I hadn't expected when I checked out and we weren't even asked if we'd enjoyed our stay and had everything been ok! The most expensive and highest rated hotel we stayed in whilst in Crete and the least impressive. Would definitely not return or recommend . Just pop in for a look like everyone else did whilst we were eating and save your money.

In the heart of the old town, the hotel has 12 rooms in total and although breakfast was not included in the room price it was very reasonably available. We stayed in the cave style room that was very nice and just steps away from the restaurant. If you're not renting a car the bus station is not too far away, about 10 minutes walk, and from there you can get to pretty much anywhere on the island.

This was a fabulous experience, staying in a 500 year old monastery!Our room was on two levls with a spiral staircase in between. We were right in the middle of the action of the old town and harbour,and close to the bus station, although it was a bit of a walk to the beach. Lovely hotel in Rethmynon old town.
The Veneto has beautiful old architectural features - stone, wood, doors - which we appreciate and find more attractive than new and modern. Our room did not have a view (we don't spend much time in our room anyway), but was it was very comfortable and the staff was helpful. The restaurant on the first floor provided excellent food and service. The hotel is near inexpensive parking, and is located within walking distance to all old town sites, restaurants, and shopping.
