Room was too warm, and room are a little tired and worn. Stayed forvrwo weeks and cleaning towel change etc was below par for the first week, but got better in the second week. Breakfast was decent, but it is off-putting that the multiple staff gathers in full view to eat breakfast alongside guests. Never experienced that in any hotel ever after four decades of globetrotting. Strange.

All great. Excellent hotel. Note that there isn’t much around it, short walking distance, other than Equinor offices, a small supermarket and a sushi place. Public transport to airport 20 min walk, but taxis come within minutes, but are much more expensive. Staff and facilities are excellent.

Worth a look in Stavanger!

It is a business hotel, so as long as your expectations are in line, you should be OK with this property. The service is good, the restaurant has a very good breakfast, and despite a limited menu in the evening, served a nice meal. I found the staff were friendly but not intrusive there were no maintenance issues.

Great hotel, close by to the airport and industrial area. Taxi required to get to the town centre which cost around 35 pound but everything expensive in Stavanger so thats no suprise. Great hotel and will be using it again next time I am over.

Fantastic hotel with notable breakfast

The hotel was great and is highly recommended! It was slightly out of town but this was perfect as we had a car and the parking was complimentary. We have had a lot of hotel breakfasts across the world and this was definitely one of the best! Very satisfied.

Lovely comfortable, modern hotel. Looks very new inside. All-you-can-eat breakfast with an amazing selection of hot food, cold cuts, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, bread and drinks. Evening dining in restaurant is expensive (But it is everywhere in Norway). Italian themed menu at time of writing. I only ate one meal in the evening and it was ok. Front of house staff were aloof, but courteous and spoke english. Serving staff were very attentive and friendly. Room was made up every day. Showers nice and hot, selection of TV channels on the large TV, at least three were English. You can plug in your own USB device and watch your own movies. An enjoyable stay and would use them again. The photos below are all my own from my recent stay.

This was our sixth Scandic hotel on our driving trip through Norway. As with all our stays, Stavanger Forus was very clean, stylish ( all locations have a unique look and feel ) had comfortable beds, shower with great water pressure and lots of hot water and the buffet breakfast ( included) was delicious! I checked out the workout room ( gym) and it had quality equipment but I didn’t use it as we were in Stavanger to hike Pulpit Rock.

Parking garage is under the hotel so access with luggage was easy.

Breakfast was very good, the room is comfy. It is 30 minutes far from Stavanger center by bus, 15 mins by car. The parking in the garage was free during our stay. It was very loud in the morning when somebody threw out the waste (glas or something hard) in the container.

The hotel was great, friendly staff, the room was clean, the shower was nice, there was a separated desk and most of the comforts needed for a business trip. The only inconvenient, it was quite expensive because Norway.

Central Stavanger Location but not much around it.

Hotel restaurant and housekeeping staff were on strike but staff who were working were excellent. They worked really hard to make up for the missing staff.

Room was cold...air conditioning was difficult to change.
My room was over a meeting room where a band paled on two of my three nights - Band was great on first night, band on the second night was terrible.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay the Scandic Stavanger Forus. We arrived late at night and check in was efficient. I believe the hotel is situated in a business park area and it was Friday night - so it was relatively empty. We only stayed because we were enroute to Lauvvik. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our brief stay. I found the hotel room a little warm though. The breakfast was impressive and the staff were friendly.

Staff were mixed bag, could have been more helpful. Didnt really see this as value for money. Chewed pencil in room, iron may as well have been a rock you heat up on a fire.... had black gunk burned to the base. They exchanged for similar, more black gunk, then again the following morning.... staff a little lackadaisical about the whole thing (apart from 1 person who was quite good). Room was small and just not 4* quality.... compared for eg to a Clarion.

Exactly as you would expect from Scandinavia

The kingsize room is well proportioned. I like the fact each room has an iron & ironing board. The staff are efficient and the rooms are clean. As you would expect them to be. The only down side is the cost of food and beverages but in Norway that is to be expected. That said the food is very good and reasonably priced for a \"captive\" audience.

air conditioning makes lot of noise.

there is a sensor on wall which keep on making a small noise every 2 mins. Sounds like it is checking the temperature.

The people like , it is enough to wake up and not letting sleep.

There is no way to switch the air cond off for your room. only thing u can do is reduce the temp so much so that it does not kick in. even if it reach there , it might be too cold.

Nice clean well maintained and friendly hotel

Stayed over for one night, yes the food and drink is expensive but then so is everywhere else, the Cafe de Paris steak was possibly the tastiest steak I've ever had, truly lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean tidy and ideal for an overnight stop, the beds were very very comfortable and the abundance of pillows and cushions made it feel very cosy despite the room being slightly cool. Try the local brewed pale ale.. its divine.

Brand new and good standard. Breakfast only adequate - limited but OK. Rooms very good, parking through Europark does not make you feel like a hotel guest. Area is good for access to local businesses, but certainly no tourist destination. For the location, could have cost less.

best of a bunch

After staying in a number of really bad and expensive hotels this hotel was a welcom break. This hotel in so far has been the most comfortable I have stayed in in Norway. In saying this it is definately not a fantastic hotel compared to others outwith Norway. The best p[oints are sound proffing between rooms is very good so you can get a sleep,the rooms have space and are clean. It is basic with some style. Giving my experience of Norway hotels this is about the best you get.

Perfect for what we wanted

We were not there to go into the downtown area primarily and we had a car so it was perfect for us. It was about a 15 min drive to the shops/restaurant downtown area and there is a good parking garage there. It was close to a big mall, bank and grocery and was clean and modern. Happy with the stay.

This is considered an \"airport\" hotel, but it is new, modern, spotless, and very comfortable. It was a 15 minute drive to downtown Stavenger. Recommend the Gastopub across the street from the Clarion Hotel. Excellent food.

NIce Hotel but Value for money not so good

This hotel is located at Forus which is between Stavanger and Sandnes, an area designated for office and industrial development. Like all hotels in the Stavanger area there can be a huge variation in rates according to the level of reservations. The nightly rate this time was more than twice the rate I paid on an equivalent mid-week booking 2 months previously. A value for money rating would not look so good.

NICE BUT OUT OF THE WAY

The hotel is actually very nice, but in a minimalist sense of the way. The rooms were small, clean, and the furnishings very plain but attractive. The bathroom was very unique in that it had a heated floor with a round glass tube that served as the shower area. It is a \"green\" hotel so the lighting is not as strong and you need to insert your key card into a box to allow anything to turn on. The second it is removed, the lights go out. The problem with the hotel is that there is nothing around it. To have a dinner outside of the hotel, you must go to either city center of Stavanger or south to the other large city. Be prepared for an expensive cab to these locations as well as to and from the airport. The included breakfast and lunch buffets were outstanding and the highlight. They offered plenty of healthy food options and some unique Norwegian food options as well. All and all a very nice hotel, but really off the beaten path. If you have business near the major oil service companies west of the airport, it is a good location.

Scandic Stavanger - Great Business Hotel

The hotel is really perfect if you are looking for close locations for companies in Forus. Room is confortable, and quiet and breakfast is great with a lot of options.

Just to go to the main city Stavanger, is far, almost EUR 35 by taxi, the hotel told me there is a bus service to town, but if it is raining it dosen't help you a lot.

The Scandic Forus is a new hotel, unfortunately due to teething problems there was a problem with the heating in my room. However the next night I was transferred to another room and compensated with restaurant vouchers. On one night I had dinner with some Norwegian colleagues who very impressed with the quality of the food - a much higher standard than they expected.

Handy Location for Forus Clients

First time I have stayed in this relatively new hotel (Summer 2011) and pleasantly surprised at quality for hotel on outskirts of Stavanger.

I had been attracted by price of room, which was certainly far cheaper than anything that I could get in Stavanger of a comparable standard.

The hotel is conveniently located for Oil & Gas Clients in Forus area and the standard of hotel appears to reflect the business clientele that it is trying to attract.

The bedrooms were surprisingly spacious with good king-sized bed and bathroom with good shower cubicle (that does not flood the bathroom floor like so many other Norwegian hotels that I have stayed in). The only slight gripe I would have with the hotel room is that the storage space for clothing was fairly limited and hanging space impaired by location of safe!.

The hotel has ample underground car parking space (though at extra cost per day) but if preferred there is a free of charge open car park diagonally opposite the hotel entrance.

The quality of food served in the restaurant was of a good standard and the breakfast buffet was ample for most tastes. However on several mornings I noticed that the hot buffet was not exactly hot but more lukewarm! The staff in the restaurant were very attentive and efficient and again on the couple of evenings I ate in the hotel food was served quickly (something that seems to be a problem in some other hotels I have stayed at).

If you enjoy walking about Stavanger in the evening, this hotel is not for you as really need a car to get out and about! However for a couple of days business in a good standard of hotel this is perfect!

Other suggestion about TV is that instead of charging guest extra for sport channels/films why not just put a nominal extra rate on to room price and give people a better choice of free viewing.

Great hotel for a meeting

I was there for two nights on a business meeting, this hotel having been chosen by the host. For the two nights the Expedia rate was £100 less than the host's Corporate Rate!
The money saved went someway towards my bar bill - lager is £11 a pint!
As always these days the 'wardrobe' space is quite ridiculous, so the hotel would be no use for a holiday.
As many others had already commented, the corridor carpets are rather garish, but I guess stains will not show up so easily?

Scandic Forus, convenient for Forus

Very convenient for businesses around Forus. The style is a bit minimal and the architecture a bit brutalist, but fine for a business visit. The food was average price (for Norway) and good quality. My one objection was the heavy duvet supplied on the beds with no alternative - not everyone wants to boil at night - some hotels offer a thin blanket as an alternative.

Very new hotel, comfortable and quiet rooms. The surrounding neighborhood has not much, but the hotel has a restaurant and is not far from Stavanger or Sandnes (less than 10 km). The breakfast is fantastic and Sola airport is only 10 km far.

Er ikke greit at vask er så tett at den ikke kan brukes lenge om gangen. Første gang jeg brukte den, fløt vannet over, og ned på golv. Slikt må jo sjekkes av de som gjør rent på rommene. Og relativt dårlige dyner og puter, og ikke minst hmadrassene holder ikke mål Pluss for Hyggelig innsjekking sent om kvelden, og veldig bra frokost.

Bokade en natt helt spontant samma kväll.
Gratis parkering i garage under helg.
Sköna sängar och rummet uppfyllde allt vi önskade.
Frukostbuffén var sparsam med lite dåligt utbud, framförallt gällande bröd. Mycket trångt bland bufféborden vilket skapade onödiga köer, borde kunna planeras bättre.
