Noise from the road is terrible. There are several bars right next to property and there was high level of noise until about 2 am every night and we were not there at a busy time. We made a reservation for two beds- and were told they did not offer two beds upon arrival even for the suite in which we made the reservation for. Hair dryer didn’t work- low customer service as well. Would not recommend.

Such a lovely hotel with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. Very friendly staff team. Central location and a plentiful breakfast. The complimentary Fika and evening meal is a big bonus. We’ve stayed twice now and wouldn’t choose anywhere else in Stavengar.

Great hotel in a great location

Very nice hotel, clean, modern, and a very professional and attentive staff. The breakfast was wonderful with anything a person could possibly want. And the afternoon Fika and complimentary dinner were much appreciated. And the location was right in the center of Stavanger’s attractions.

Really nice place and superior service!

The room was very small. Nothing that they could have done. The windows were great! But, they let in a lot of light. And there was hardly any floor space. The staff was great and the food was above average!

Superb stay for 2 nights. Right on the Harbour. Great location for shopping, bars and the Concert Hall.

Buffet breakfast and Dinner are unfussy but tasty and convenient.

Rooms just renovated, very comfortable and clean. Lots of sockets and USB ports.

Weekend in Stavanger

Overall good value, particularly with the included meals, and nice location, but not without problems. I had to change rooms twice immediately on arrival as the safe in the first (rear-facing) room was unusable, the previous guest having left it locked, and, as confirmed by the person who checked me in, the door to the second room would not open. The (front-facing) room to which I was finally allocated appeared to be smaller than the first room and was in poor condition - cable ducting coming away from the wall, some paint missing from the woodwork, one of the curtains coming away from its tracks and the inside of the front door heavily marked. There was also significant noise from the street, until after 2am, on both nights of my stay (Friday and Saturday)

Usually have a good experience with Clarion hotels, but this one was an exception. The property and facilities are dated and lacks basic services for the Collection level. Also, the initial interaction with front desk staff was unpleasant, kind of reflecting the property itself.

Excellent location except when the cruise ships park right in front of the hotel and the view is completely blocked. The parking garage next door for overnight parking has no outlets for plug-in hybrid cars. We skipped the evening meals which are included since it is a buffet. Breakfast was very good.

Not Peaceful!

We stayed here for three nights from Thursday to Sunday in August. Being an expensive country we were very happy that the hotel provided breakfast, a light evening meal and coffee + cake (fika) in the price of the stay. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of options to choose from, the evening meal we had twice, chilli con carne one night and chicken wings on the other, both very good. As for fika every time we tried they had no coffee or cake left but we werent too fussed. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. As for the room we had room 304 which I would NOT recommend , especially if you want a quiet stay. The room was apparently a \"Superior\" room. It was however a few wooden stairs away from the rest of the rooms on the floor. The room had a beautiful view over the waterfront but was also above the bars and restaurants. We weren't expecting peace as it was the weekend but the sound of loud music went on until about 0400 - 0500 every night. Also this particular room was below the hotel gym which was open until midnight so there was loud thumping and movement from above until late. The actual room was clean and comfortable though, although admittedly the single glazed windows did't help the noise. They only service the room if you ask so by day three we needed to ask for an extra toilet roll! The hotel is itself in a great central location, but if you want somewhere peaceful especially during the summer I would avoid!

Hotel property is located very close to old town and very walkable . The rooms are ok but didn’t have daily cleaning service . Included meals: breakfast, afternoon snack and dinners were very mediocre quality , gym is a tiny room that barely fits 2 people. Overall I would say it’s a 3* hotel .

Very friendly, relaxed hotel right on the water in central Stavanger. Great to be able to watch the cruise ships arrive and depart and to be within a couple minutes walk of all the shops and bars and the old town. Such a bonus to have all food included - the breakfasts are exceptional! The only downside is that with open windows in the summer, the immediate area can be full of people and as such it can be a little noisy. Didn't bother us though. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great location on the on the harbour in the centre of Stavanger. Staff really helpful and room good size. Breakfast and Dinner buffet both good and impressed as reading previous reviews deemed it would be \"small\". Breakfast had the vaster selection but still a good amount of variety on the dinner (one main option with a few different sides and salads). Both buffer style.

Only downsides were the room I booked was advertised as \"Sea/Garden view\" when it in fact just faced a concrete street and wall at the back of the building. And the lifts are incredibly slow, so we took the stairs most the time.

Stylish scandi hotel

Stylish decor, very good service. In an excellent location next to the restaurants harbour and shops. Definitely worth an upgrade to superior room which includes free evening meal. The food is good and this will save you a lot of money overall, as eating out is extremely expensive in Norway. All staff speak excellent English.

Great hotel, parking can be difficult / expensive

This was a nice hotel for a work trip. The meals included was a nice touch, particularly the breakfast. The service was great. My chief complaint was finding offsite parking. This is like 25€ a day and when arriving later than 1900, finding a spot close by can be difficult. Also, the price of alcohol in Norway is ridiculous. I know that its not the Hotels fault that it's 20€ for a beer, but wow.

The hotel is excellently located in the city center. Staff is nice enough. But it is quite dated, plus some choices didn’t make sense - for example, we got two big towels, but only one small one. The hotel has a hard time accommodating dinners and breakfasts under covid rules, we had to wait for both, despite having a timed reservation for breakfast. We had a second stay in Stavanger coming up, and we switched it to another property.

Comfortable hotel in the middle of old port. Room was nice and clean, bathroom could be a tiny bit bigger. Close to all bars and restaurants. Service was excellent. Good breakfast and they serve free dinner as well. From now on it’s my favourite hotel in Stavanger.

The location was excellent, right on the harbor. Great views from our window. The outdoor terrace was a great place for people watching. The dining area was beautifully furnished and the morning and evening meals were plentiful.
However, the location just adjacent to the restaurants and nightclubs made for a very noisy night. The revelry lasted until 4 am. Ask for a quiet room or bring earplugs.

Excellent breakfast and evening buffet during Stavanger Food Week. Comfortable foyer and porch area overlooking busy sea front. Small but comfortable double room at rear has view up to old tower battlements and along a cobbled street with colourful traditional wooden houses. Can be lively at night-time during festivals!

The carpets needed a good clean throughout and cruise ships were tied up right outside the hotel which meant the passengers were staring right into the room and we couldn't see anything of a view!

Best hotel in Stavanger

I cannot recommend this hotel too highly. It was absolutely the best we stayed in during our trip to Norway. The staff were fantastic, the breakfast brilliant and a bonus dinner is included each night if we felt like staying in. Stavanger and the Clarion did not disappoint.

Stavanger is a real nice city. There were only two things that stopped me from giving a perfect score: no free parking ($25/day) and they wouldn't let you check in early. On the plus side the food was really good and available all day, which made up for the parking cost.

Solid Choice in Stavenger

Stayed two nights while attending meetings and hiking up to Preikestolen. Got in early (11am) and was given a room immediately (thanks!). Hotel is on semi-busy thoroughfare so if you can't handle normal street noise, ask for room in the back. Friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast and midday waffles were a nice touch. Modern amenities, very firm bed. Perfect for being in the middle of Stavenger, and good price too! Would book again.

OK stay, but not much more. Apart from the crisp bacon at breakfast, there was nothing extraordinary about the hotel. The noisy neighborhood consisting of nightlife/bars/nightclubs and the entrance to a garage facility did not raise the experience on our behalf.

Gorgeous view,when no cruise ship docked out front

Our stay in Stavanger was quite special. The Skaggen Brygge was beautiful, inside and out. Breakfast was great and, to our pleasant surprise, there was also a complimentary light dinner included. The view from this hotel is sensational, however, the huge cruise ships making their summer stops in Stavanger dock directly in front of the front door of the hotel. When we arrived and brought our luggage up to our rooms, the life boats on a cruise ship where right outside our window, blocking the magnificent view we were expecting of the harbor. We were quite fortunate, however, as the ship pulled away that afternoon and there was no ship scheduled for the remainder of the weekend. Not sure how long this might potentially be an issue for other guests arriving at different times during the summer months. We, however, loved our stay at the Skaggen Brygge!

Great location on the pier .

The hotel is in a great location right on the pier ,Short walk to the Cathedral, and the Oil and Gas Museum. 5 min walk to bus station or ferry in opposite direction .. There is a wonderful breakfast-crepes in the afternoon -and a hearty lite supper in the evening, all complementary .Night life next to hotel in sports bar.(suggest asking for a room at back of building if noise bothers you) We visited in summer it was very warm in the room . We needed to keep the window open .

Stort sett veldig fornøyd. En ovn som falt ned fra vegg ble fikset opp i, og informerte resepsjonen at beskyttelse på lås på rom falt av iblant. Var litt mye støy fra gaten på utsiden mot Vinotek, men alt i alt helt ok.
