Did not realize when we booked that this a hotel meant for a hospital. All you see around you is patients which creates quite an unsettling atmosphere especially when you are on vacation and trying to have a good time. The location is good but the rooms are very basic like a hostel. There is no soap and the water heats up quickly and if you don’t watch out you may get burnt

it was not bad! clean, spacious enough for me & my partner, toilet was sufficiently spaced out (not too small, not too big!) & the staff were friendly & helpful. I have nv stayed in a hotel that was conjoined with a hospital before, it was quite cute.

The location was terrible tho, cos me & my partner had to drag our 23kg luggages 2km from the train station, walk up 3 different extremely high & steep slopes & thank God it was cold weather when we went (around 15°C) but by the time we were done lugging our baggage & navigating that 2km from the train station, huffing & puffing dragging the 23kg luggage up crazy sloped roads, we were perspiring like mad lol.

Rooms don't come with hairdryers or kettles, but u can borrow 1 from the reception at the 1st floor if u rly need it

One thing - I dropped my 1 side of my glove out the window & it was lying on some 2nd floor deck! I wanted to retrieve it cos I'm left with just one side of the glove which would render it useless. so what am I gonna do with ONE side of a glove?!! LOL, the lady at the reception desk told me she couldn't do anything abt it & that it was inaccessible. I don't think this is true because I'm sureee occasionally there're people who will go up there to maintain that deck & cleaners who go there to... idk, sweep & mop the floor there or something? It was completely safe to do so!

Other than that, the inside of the hotel is rly perfect & good for budget travelers who want to stay in comfort.

It is a Hostel like environment, if you are looking for luxury this is not it. But if you are looking for some place quiet to lay your head down, this is the spot. They have a great cafeteria that serves amazing food. The small store has a lot of items and is great for coffee, drinks and snacks. For me it was ideal.

Didn’t realize when we booked that it was attached to a hospital but it wasn’t a problem, our bathroom was pretty big (to accommodate handicap I guess) so that was a plus. Girl at the front desk was nice. Only major complaints were the booking says laundry service and there was in fact no facilities on site and laundromats are closed on sundays. Also the room had dirty walls and carpets. Sheets were fresh and clean though.

This is a hotel attached to the hospital building which is not what was advertised initially. From the description it seemrd that it was in the vicinity. If you are not a local the parking can be challenging. All instructions on signs on the road are in Norwegian. The pay machine has english instructions, however very confusing as you don't know what you are paying for. I got a fine although i paid both nights. Staff at the hotel were not helpful in explaining instructions on how parking works and how payment works. Overall reasonable pay, and location, but would not say here again. No fridge in the room and room seems too much like a hospital, same with smell in yhe room. Beds are hard, uncomfortable and squeaky.

Absolutely superb for what I needed.....a cheap and easy nights sleep, a good hot shower and access to the check in at 0100.
Great staff who helped with super simple but important stuff like finding a corkscrew!

I would highly recommend staying here if you are on a budget and want good bus connections.

Hospital hotel in a convenient location.

This hotel is not your ordinary place; it is part of the St Svithun hospital complex so if you were not needing to be near somebody recovering from an operation or giving birth, the hotel might not be what you are looking for. On the other hand, it I close to Stavanger Sentrum and a convenient 10 km from the airport. Breakfast was not included in our reservation so we had to pay NOK 150 per person extra for that and parking was NOK 170 per night.

One of the factors when picking this hotel was it was on the bus route and less than a couple of miles from Stavanger so figured it would be a nice walk or short bus ride each day into the town, breakfast was also included with our booking.

First thing first this is a Hotel next to the local Hospital. It turns out this is actually accommodation for hospital residents also with wheelchairs about the place and lots of newborns in the restaurant in the morning was a pleasant surprise.

The room was as you’d expect for the price two beds pushed together separate blankets. Small fridge. One working sidelight - one not.

Small area for hanging 3 or 4 items and a TV on the wall and a desk.

Decent sized shower (Wheelchair friendly) and bathroom area - Although there was a step up into the bathroom which made no sense and also the cause of a couple of stubbed toes when going to the loo in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning.

Breakfast.

Fresh juices.
3 choices of eggs - soft / Hard or scrambled
Mini hot dog style sausages
Muesli
Fresh breads
Cold cuts of meat
3 cereals

Bus route outside:

No bus on the weekend to the airport runs past the hospital so you have to get a local bus into the city.

This is a hospital hotel. It’s connected to a hospital so it’s very weird when you are eating breakfast and sick people abd newborn babies are being walked around. I would t recommend this for vacationers as ithe rooms are setup like hospital rooms. Just doesn’t feel comfortable.

I really enjoyed my stay. The Staff on Reception were friendly, well informed and helpful. The Restaurant Staff were seemingly less eager to please you and I found it hard to get their attention at times. The location was conveniently by a bus stop, which was also a stop for the airport shuttle. The hotel was around 20 mins walk into the town.
The bedroom was clean and had all necessities- I would have preferred tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you could buy drinks downstairs easily.
The breakfast was a nice continental style as there was cheese, meat, bread and cereal-a gluten free option was available. However when we were there hot food was limited to scrambled/boiled eggs and sausages.

Interesting, but good value option

I stayed at St Svithun (pronounced Sveetun) Hotel what attending a business event in Stavanger whenany other hotels were fully booked or outrageously expensive.
It’s fair to say, it’s not your typical business-traveller hotel: in fact it seems to be part of a hospital, and I imagine the rooms are for family/visitors who perhaps wish to stay close to loved one who may be in hospital or recovering.
Don’t let that put you off too much, but it is an unusual sight to see patients wandering around the reception area from time-to-time!
The upside is that the hotel has a very well-stocked shop on site, selling everything form touristic merchandise to toiletries and magazines - as well as plenty of food options. There is also a decent-looking cafe adjacent.
I can’t testify to the breakfast as my business commitments meant I dined out each morning.
On the room-side, the room was fairly comfortable and decently appointed, but did suffer from a broken bedside lamp switch and an empty soap dispenser in the shower. Small details, but readily fixed with some attention. Also, my sink clearly had a drainage problem, as it would take several minutes to empty.
Don’t let the idea of a “hospitel” put you off too much: it is well-located and quite close to the city centre - oh, and if you did have the misfortune to suffer any health problems during your stay, you are ideally situated!!

I staid at the hotel for a couple of nights after my wife gave birth. This hotel is at a hospital building and has 24/7 midwife on duty to help postpartum moms. We didn't get a double room, so I had to rent a single room for myself. My wife had a full board and the food was average. There is parking available for ~150NOK per day.

We had difficulty finding it as it is some way from the city center. However we loved the breakfast
and enjoyed the mothers bringing in their day-old infants. Very good room. Excellent value.

For a couple, it might not be romantic mostly due to the hotel is inside the hospital.
But apart from that its good.
We have been here before and they had bedbugs in some rooms, but that's gone now.

THis hotel is attached to the hospital and shares a very high standard of cleanliness. It is not located in the heart of Stavangar, which is not a big problem as it is about a twenty minute walk to the town centre. The only issue I have is that you will occasionally be disturbed by a helicopter delivering a patient to the hospital.

Very hotel, but ideal for all

Unlike most hotels in Stavanger, St Svithun is not in the downtown area; it is attached to the university hospital. While not ideal for anyone wanting to visit the sites it is only a 15 min bus ride on the #11 bus from downtown, and the bus stop is right across the street from the hospital. It also has a stop for the flybussen that goes directly to the airport. There is a cafe downstairs and a gift shop as well, both of which are very convient for guests. My wife and I originally had a single room booked by accident (which is typical of European rooms with a very small single bed) but had no problem upgrading to a double room. The room did not have a lot of frills and did not seem to have working AC. Our first room faced the loading area of the hospital and was quite loud. Our second faced the street and while quieter still had a bit of noise with the window open. Also, the wifi did not work in our room only out in the hallway or down in the cafe which was a small annoyance. Overall it was a well priced hotel for Stavanger and fit our needs fairly well.

this hotel is mainly an overspil for the hospital, and is full of day patients waiting for an operation or some kind of consultancy the following day. It is not a place for a business man to stay overnight, and is certainly not worth the £145 GBP i paid for the room for the night.

Jeg hadde ikke forventet å bo på sykehuset nær jeg bestilte soverom. Trodde drosjen hadde levert meg på feil sted. «Hotellets» spisested stengte kl 15.00 og i følge de ansatte måtte man tilbake til sentrum for å finne et sted å spise.

Det er også slik at selv om man putter en seng inn i et sykehusrom, maler en vegg og henger opp to lamper. Så er det fremdeles et sykehusrom. Alarmsnorene var tilstede både på badet og på rommet.

Den ene sengen var meget myk, den andre hard. Også litt rart.

Men, for all del. Det var rent.

Veldig dyr parkering.Pris på parkering som ble oppgitt i resepsjon og i app stemte ikke. Kan ikke gjester på hotellet få en fast pris med oblat fra hotellet? Vi betalte 470kr første døgn. Resepsjon/app oppga 210kr. Umulig å gjøre om denne i app når man har kjørt inn i anlegget.

Helt ok natt til ganske bra pris. Enkelt, men rent og fint rom. Fjernkontrollen til TV virket ikke, og det fantes ingen info om TV eller annet. Hotellet ligger på sykehusområdet og er også et pasienthotell, så det var endel støy ute sent på kvelden (rett ved parkeringshus og luftambulansen) og sigarettrøyk kom inn fra vinduet. Nær off.kommunikasjon og flybuss, så noen minutter til sentrum og 18 min til flyplassen! Hyggelig betjening i resepsjonen. Stor kafé/kiosk/ butikk. Siden jeg ikke hadde bestilt oppholdet direkte fra hotellets nettside, kostet frokosten 189 kr! Det var helt uaktuelt mye. Men alt i alt et helt greit opphold!

Styr unna om du vil sove. Vi, 2 voksne og 2 ungdommer , bodde her i to netter. Alle sengene var kjempeharde, men det værste var at de knirket sånn. Umulig å få sove, da det knirket mye fra over køyene. Veldig enkel standard, kan minne om leirskole. Parkering 200,- pr døgn. Velger et annet alternativ neste gang. Hyggelige resepsjonister, enkelt å ta buss til og fra sentrum
