They didn't post that they were in the middle of a renovation and the elevators dont work. i had to carry all of my and my child luggage up the stairs to the 3rd floor. No one offered to help us or the other guests with their items up the steps. They should have been doing that or offering the help. This is not on their website because like me and others who was staying there said that \" we would have never paid to stay here if we knew we was going to have to carry our items up the stairs with no help from the hospital staff.\" when you go on a vacay somewhere you want to relax. I couldnt relax cause they was working on the room right next to mine I needed to rest and I couldnt because the workers was working in the room next to mine. I need a full refund is what I need to get back from them. Also on the website it doesnt state that you have to pay $100 property damage fee that is refundable. If i didnt have any extra money I wasnt gonna be able to stay there and we was their for my daughter BIG statewide chorus event the majority of the people who stayed in that hotel during the weekend Jan.9-11 was there and we were all upset and mad about that to. When you go somewhere you want to be comfortable and relaxed and there was barely any hot water coming out from the sinks to wash face and brush teeth. I had to not only drive 2 hours to get to the hotel for the event but then I had to carry my own luggage up the stairs I was tired this made me even more tired and upset. REFUND ME

This review is as much about Expedia as it is about this property. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. I booked this hotel through Expedia several days in advance due to its proximity to a large conference I was attending with nearly 1,000 other people in town.

At check-in, I was told the elevator was broken and my room was on the third floor. I explained that I have a leg injury and asked for a first-floor room. I was told none were available. I also asked if a discount was possible due to the elevator being out, and was told that because I booked through Expedia, that wasn’t an option. With no real alternatives, I checked in.

After climbing three flights of stairs, I was immediately hit with an overwhelming smell of marijuana throughout the third-floor hallway, which was also noticeable inside my room. This made me feel unsafe and was completely unacceptable. I contacted both the hotel and Expedia to report the issues.

While on hold with Expedia, the front desk called my room twice, but the phone had no audio. The attendant eventually came upstairs and suddenly offered a first-floor “upgrade” with a jacuzzi. I questioned why this wasn’t offered initially when I disclosed my injury. There was no real explanation. He also denied noticing the marijuana odor.

Expedia ultimately offered no assistance other than canceling my reservation, which was unrealistic given the lack of available hotels. After being transferred multiple times, I was told

Space is good, beds were comfortable. Pull out mattress was stained and the sheets were missing. There is black mold in the shower, hair on the ceiling, hairdryer had not been cleaned in some time, and an already opened bar of soap on the counter. There is also a safety hazard with the light above the shower exposed, having no cover to it. The deposit for incidentals was also double what I paid last year. Front desk staff was friendly though.

Room was in OK condition, it wasn’t dirty, but furnishings were dated and worn. TV had a defect where there was a big dialogue box covering up about 20% of the screen that they couldn’t get off. One of the desk guys did come up and try to help and I give him credit for that. It was just overall a mid-level hotel.

The rooms smelled terrible, but there were air fresheners in the rooms that didn’t seem to help. They did have a sign in the lobby that said they were about to start remodeling. My second stay

This was my second stay at this hotel. I wish I could give it a better rating. However, they are doing renovations. Even with this, it's still a nice hotel to stay at if you're visiting Athens for a short while. The beds are comfy. I don't think they were even at 50% capacity, so the room was pretty quiet. The pool is super cold, but it was open and my kids enjoyed it. The breakfast is included and is happening decent.

The staff is very friendly and they always welcome you whenever you walk in. We weren't there for long so we didn't need our room cleaned, but there were 3 trash cans, plenty of towels, and the room was clean. They have a small snack bar next to the reception desk, and they don't extremely overprice the snacks.

There is a gym, but it's pretty small. However, they did offer free water in the gym, which is something I haven't seen before.

Our room included a dehumidifier. It wasn't needed too much, but you should remember that the pool is indoors. I'm curious as to how everything will look after renovations are done. We might be back next year.

When we arrived, they failed to mention that they were renovating inside and out. The carpet in the room was dirty, there were patches all over the wall, the place was dusty, some parts of the wall had dirt stains on them. The place was a mess. What really threw me for a loop, is when they had the nerve to ask for $100 deposit in case we mess something up. I'm asking for a refund of at least half of what I paid. The place was unsanitary.

The front desk was VERY nice and helpful when we checked in. We went to our room to unload and noticed a musty smell when we entered the room, and saw a dehumidifier running. When we left to go to dinner, I asked the front desk for air freshener and told them the room had a strong musty smell. They said they would take care of it. When we returned in a few hours, it still smelled bad. After three requests, housekeeping brought us some. I didn't sleep well and was up all night sneezing and coughing. In the morning, with curtains open, I could actually see BLACK MOLD on the glass of a framed picture hanging above my bed. Even though we had booked and paid for two nights, we checked out early, due to health concerns and lack of sleep.

The staff was great, can’t complain, but those rooms are not all that great. The first room had mold on the bed skirt and around the edge on the sheets. Then the humidity was awful and had the room smell like urine a little. Then the second room, there was a little mold on the walls and the bed skirt and the dresser look chewed up, and the sheets had little yellow stains in them. We kinda just looked at it as “it’s a cheap hotel, why expect more” but i wouldn’t recommend this to my friends honestly

My vacation

It was my vacation and I enjoyed staying in your hotel. I was a little disappointed with the TV. I asked front desk. to fix the TV but the person who they sent that didn’t quite know how to fix the TV. The TV was blue the whole entire time I stayed there But for the most part I enjoyed my stay. One more thing provide a better space for dogs and a trashcan for their poop to go into. I just wish you guys were located in a better neighborhood for the most part,

We picked this hotel for its proximity to UGA Vet hospital. The check-in process was wonderful and the staff member was fantastic! We had to change rooms and it was not a problem. The room was spacious and clean. Great beds and the shower was fantastic! It was also very quiet. Unfortunately the refrigerator dripped water and our items inside became soaked. The breakfast was fantastic. The only thing we were really disappointed about was that the hot tub was cold. We brought it to a team member’s attention and he said he’d tell maintenance. The hot tub was the thing we were most excited for at this hotel.

All of the staff here were absolutely the kindest. Made things clear, listened, and assisted with every need. The hotel itself is not the most updated, but it isn’t “nasty” either. Loud noises outside sometimes bc of the adjacent liquor store, but not an issue later in the night once it’s closed. Indoor pool/hot tub is cool for the people traveling with littles. Small, but efficient gym. Decent complimentary breakfast with a lot of normal hotel options.

My only complaint is the carpet in the hallway on the 4th floor. I don't know if the carpet on the other floors are in the same condition. The carpet smells bad, is heavily worn in some areas, and should be replaced ASAP.

The room was clean. The bed was good and the shower was great.

I was also impressed with the rate fir one night.

We changed rooms with no problem whatsoever. First room was adjacent to someone who brought a dog with them which barked constantly. Room also smelled really musty. Our new room was perfect. Had a great nights sleep.
