The staff was courteous and supportive, the hotel itself on the other hand is not in great shape. If you stay in the tower, you will be alright, if you stay outside of the tower... Good luck, they really need to invest in renovations ASAP for the hotel as a whole.

The first night the toilet ran all night until i got out of bed and manually turned the water of at supply valve. In the morning I reported it to the desk and asked to have it fixed while i was out. I returned that evening to find No Water for the toilet at all.

The image on thumbnail representing the property is only the lobby and the majority of the rooms are hidden behind it. I thought they had renovated the old property when I saw this picture but nope. Insects parts on bathroom floor from recently squished bug.
The shower didn’t work. The handle to turn on the water was busted. Fun thing to discover in the morning. Brought it to the attention of front desk attendee, response was “that sucks, sorry man.”

This was the only reasonably priced option I could find in Athens this weekend. It was extremely average on all dimensions. I was traveling alone, so it was fine for me as a solo man. But my wife would not have liked the property and I’m glad she wasn’t with me. It just needs a total makeover from the rooms, to the parking, to the lobby, and some amenities.

My socks were black from the floor about 10 minutes after we walked in. They have rooms in a newly built tower (I assume look like photos online) but if you get put in the older rooms, they are pretty bad. Breakfast was decent - good coffee and they bring in Chik-fila biscuits.

The the floor mat was stained in the bathroom. One of the two towels in my room had black stains on them. At check in had to wait approximately 15 minutes for a staff to arrive. The breakfast was good and the staff there was friendly. The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown Athens area. If you are coming to party this is a good location, for any other reason you may want to consider staying elsewhere.

The room was clean and spacious, the hotel itself was clean. But the pool area is being used as some sort of storage and so the pool is not functioning. None of the vending machines worked, and the free breakfast was less than desirable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Also the towels in our room were stained, but they had been washed so they were clean. It seems like they dont have the financial support they need to keep up with everything.

I booked a room in the tower. My husband has Parkinsons and mobility is an issue. We were told our room had been changed due to a problem with lightning. We were moved to a 2nd floor room( stairs) and then the key did not work. Tried ro move us to a room 3 doors down- it wasnt clwan ( it was 10:\"pm. Moved us to 109 ( back down stairs)- no cable- no tv. Sink had water standing and a fly on it. Breakfast had no butter or jelly or cr cheese for bread and bagels. I would like a 50% refund on the orice of the room.

When arriving, the hotel was completely inaccessible from the street and appeared closed. When calling to cancel, I was told to go thru the next door gas station parking lot. They were able to email in advance about a $10 parking fee, but not able to email about the closed roads and parking not, nor was there any signage to help.
The hotel was also significantly more run down than shown in the photos.

Front desk person was excellent. He was professional and customer-oriented. The first room he assigned me to had a very noisy AC unit. The 2nd had plumbing problems. He graciously changed the room each time and made sure the 3rd was ok and in a suitable location.
The property/facility is well used and it shows. Maybe it’s due for a renovation? Bed was comfortable and clean as was tub and toilet. Bathroom floor was mopped, but not well and there was dirt built up in the corners.
Instead of leaving early, I stayed because of the customer service of the front desk person and the comfortable bed and clean tub/toilet.
There is major construction 24 hrs around the facility making it noisy and hard to access, but this is temporary. Location is convenient to the University and major avenues in and out of town.

The photos look really nice, but when you get to your room, there is a newer part of the hotel and an older part of the hotel. The photos are definitely from the newer part. The first room was in the older rooms in a corner that had two maintenance closets, was loud and smelled like trash. The room was outdated and stuffy, it didn't feel clean. Went to ask to upgrade and the desk agent was really nice, he upgraded me for free. I feel it's a sort of bait and switch with how the rooms are presented in the photos.
The second room was in the newer tower, it was larger, more comfortable, felt cleaner, brighter, indoor access, and on an upper floor which I prefer, and it didn't smell like trash. I recommend just paying the extra $12 to get the room in the tower. It's worth it.

It’s a motel.

I pulled up to the hotel not realizing it is actually a motel, which would have been fine had I not been traveling alone. My room was actually inside the hotel portion - so I was not too worried. But the ice maker on my floor was literally right outside the door to my room. Loud and annoying. Walked into my room and though it was clean, it was old and nasty. Stains in the shower, cheap pillows. I ended up leaving - didn’t even unpack my bag.

Did not like- dirt in threshold of room-first impression of room. No pool even though in he ad , it said there was a pool-there were towels on the rack near the pool even though we were told pool had not been open since Covid. There were no cups or chair in the room. Had to pull night stand out to plug in phone and it was filthy underneath. The shower was designed so that water flowed in the dressing area and we had to use towels to mop up the water which left us short on towels. I would never recommend Best Western in Athens, GA

I can only base my review on the exterior entry rooms.The main tower may be better. My first room had small black bugs on the stained sheets. The bedding in second room still did not appear properly cleaned. There doesn't seem to be much care taken for the exterior rooms. Something seems wrong with the plumbing. I could hear noises from the adjoining rooms from the toilet and the one in my room didn't flush properly.The staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice TV in the room. Those were the only positives. I wouldn't book again.

Where do I start? It was college weekend and the hotel was full. We had 2 towels for 2 people for 3 nights. No cups in room and 1 small garbage can. They never cleaned the room for 3 days. The room had not been vacuumed or cleaned before we got there. We found potato chips, sequins and staples on the dirty filthy rug. My white socks were discolored from the rug. There was no one at the front desk at night and until 9am except an older security guard. The windows in the lobby were pour water from holes above them. On top of this, they jacked the prices 3 fold because of graduation weekend. I'm contacting Best Western to complain.

The place was smelly. Very much like the carpet needed to be clean. It looked not old, but could do with a ‘refresh’. Used linen sat in the lobby by the front desk my entire stay. The ‘breakfast’ was a joke. Very limited; and, the bagels were to old to be served.

The person I came with, who had a separate, was concerned about getting into the bathtub….due to its ‘unclean’ appearance.
