The Oceanview room is incredible overlooking Xlendi Bay. Everything is at the doorstep including great hikes and viewpoints. The room itself is older and dated with only 2 plugs for gadgets. It's tiny, quite cramped and the bed hard. Very average room but very clean with lots of hot water. The TV is old and only Maltese channels available. However the WIFI is good. The staff are excellent and the breakfast good. Free parking in the public lot, literally 50 feet from the front door. I'm not sure if we would stay there again due to the uncomfortable bed and tiny room, but it's definitely a good value and fabulous location. 4/5 Stars.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our room which we had booked 8 months before our stay.
Our balcony overlooks a busy hill with traffic all hours, minimal see view, no option to move. Huge crack on balcony door, holes in curtains, black marks on shower curtain.
Stained pillows which we had changed late at night. No mattress protector, asked for an extra sheet. Tea and coffee in the room but no creamer. Minimal breakfast, no yogurt, very small choice of fresh fruit. Small choice of hot food including overcooked green scrambled egg,
Very disappointed wouldn’t stay again.

Thr property is located by the water and there were numerous restaurants nearby. A short bus ride took us to Victoria which was a nice place to walk and experience Gozo. Upon arrival, Alexandra was very helpful. At the colocated restaurant, Milan and the other staff went out of their way to make our dining experience great. The small room was fine except there were spider webs on the ceiling, the bathtub had hair in it when we arrived and the windows don't mute the noise from the street. Otherwise it was comfortable.

Whilst the room was quite small, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower needed replacing but, again, the bathroom was clean and functional. The staff were excellent.
If you stay here, pay for the rooms with a balcony view of the bay - just stunning.

Shower head didn’t stay upright, so had to have handheld showers. Free self parking means street parking in the nearby lot - we assumed this was within the property. Rooms were much smaller than they appeared in photos. I dealt only with one receptionist who was lovely, but my friend asked another to reset her room key once it stopped working and she was told not to hold it near her phone… mine had also expired the same day, so doubt it was our fault. Anyway, stay was fine and great location, best location to stay in Gozo. Plenty of restaurants and the breakfast did the trick. Recommend if you plan on only using the room to sleep in.

Hotel San Andrea made our trip to Malta more than perfect. The staff were attentive, kind and created a very warm and comforting environment. There is always a member of staff available for any queries or to provide tourist information about Gozo. The room was very clean and hygienic with great care taken to give you the full experience. The food at the hotel restaurant was absolutely sublime, with a great price included with every hotel reservation. The waiting staff were very attentive and took great care of you during your meal. Would recommend Hotel San Andrea to anyone coming to Malta and we will definitely be back!!! Thank you!

Awesome location on the beautiful waterfront. The evening meals were outstanding and the staff very welcoming. Gozo is experiencing frequent power cuts and this hotel has a generator so we were unaffected. Fantastic 3 days.

The room was limited in space and the power outlets need updated for usb and better locations - unless you bring a 3m cable.
The location should be idyllic, however, the hotel is adjacent to the start of a hill climbing out of the bay and traffic noise is a problem.

The Hotel was nice and clean. Rooms are nice and beds and linens comfy. After checking into the Hotel we went down to the Restaurant/Bar for a drink and the Restaurant Manager showed no interest in serving us. After sitting there for some time we got up and left. This set the tone for us eating diner there. We found other awesome restaurants just adjacent to the Hotel and had great experiences dining there instead.

This was sadly a very disappointing visit for us. The room we were given had mould all over the bathroom ceiling. We asked for a different room, which they gave us, but didn't apologise. The receptionist seemed very indifferent to us being there. There was also a little bit of mould in the new room. The rooms are very cramped and the AC didn't seem to be working. In addition, there was only one very thin sheet covering the mattress which kept slipping off in the middle of the night. The key card sometimes didn't work for our bedroom. There was also music playing in the hallways for most of the night. The only good things about this hotel were its location (right on the waterfront) and the breakfast, which was tasty and had a broad selection of food which catered to vegetarians and vegans. It's a shame overall as the hotel could be much better if more effort was put in.

Good loction , adequate hotel.

The best rooms are the ones with a bay view, however those are also above the restaurants and bars, which mean they can be noisy at night. The breakfast was excellent , best I had in Malta. Rooms are pricey considering their condition (old furniture & fixtures, but you are paying for the location. Would i stay again? Probably not, i would look for other options in Gozo.

4-Star Seaview Room, 2-star room = 3 star hotel

I booked a sea view room, and the view from the balcony was fantastic.

The cleanliness is moderate. When I pulled back the bed coverlet, I found a blood stain on the underside. I left it face up hoping the maid would find it -- but she put the coverlet with the blood stain back on. I had to complain.

The balcony windows would not close, and definitely did not lock. One side of the sliding glass door was rusted off, and the other was jammed open. The hotel claimed this was so that guests didn't lock themselves onto the balcony (???). After I complained, they repaired it.

The decor is tired and well used, with scuff marks on the wall.

That being said, the view from my first floor was excellent, as was the fifth floor terrace. There is one other hotel on the sea front with this view, and it is much more expensive.

Really happy with my stay there. The hotel is super clean, excellent service. They gave me a hand printing my boarding passes for free. The room is small, but OK for the amount of time spent there. Nice balcony (If you are on a beach facing room you could be there forever drinking
some good wine). Breakfast good, but can get repetitive after a few days. I would recommend them to add traditional Maltese pastizzi to the breakfast buffet, as it is something cheap to add but that would give extra variety to the breakfast. The location is superb, with a calm clean beach at 5 seconds from the hotel entrance. Very good location if planning to do snorkeling or scuba diving (multiple PADI excursions from right there). Also water sports departing from there. Multiple restaurants around you and I found the one on the hotel (Zafiro) a really good value. You can pay normal prices for a la carte menu or get a fixed menu for 16 euros with a couple of choices in each course (get the ticket first from the hotel reception for the discounted price). The food was plenty and very good quality. I would definitely would go back to San Andrea Hotel if going back to Gozo.

The location is perfect. Right on the bay and just few steps away from the bus stop. Staff is nice as well.

Apart from this I had a bad experience with this hotel. Upon arrival I noticed big stains on the bed sheets. I asked to change it and the receptionist came in the room to check and acted like I was overreacting. Anyway he brought up another bed sheet that he was not able to put on the bed and I ended up making the bed myself. In general the bedrooms and the bathrooms are very old and small. Bed sheets and towels are also really old and full of hairs. Cleanliness was not good. The floor was dirty especially underneath the bed and we found hairs in the bath and in the toilet seat as well. TV was really small and was showing 4 channels in total. Breakfast was avarage. The standard is definitely not worth the money.

Would we stay here again? Actually yes !

By the time we left after five days, we were sorry to leave. Not 5* luxury by any stretch of the imagination, but having moved on, we miss it ! Sort of quiet friendliness. Ideal for a quieter couple maybe, as there's nothing to do apart from swimming. Strong recommendation.....get a room overlooking the bay..South facing..sun all day. Day 1 we thought it was not going to be to our liking at all...but it grew on us. Breakfast is pretty average and there's only one mini market. However, we were pleased with the local restaurants. And don't park your car under the trees, unless you have a white one!

Everyone was very nice. Great location in Xlendi. If you time it right parking is easy to find. Always nice to walk along the water. Breakfast was nice with a beautiful view if you sat outside. All the facilities were sparkling clean. Excellent water pressure in the shower. I know the rooms are all different sizes, but my only comment is that our room was very very small. But the bed as comfortable and I never aim on spending time in y hotel room when I travel!

Only stayed for two nights, the check-in was very quick, the room although small had aircondition, tea, coffee making facilities, a safe deposit box, a balcony and a good-sized bathroom. The room was very clean and fresh towels provided every day. Excellent location as it is only a few meters away from the water edge. The hotel staff are very friendly and eager to offer good service. The location was excellent & some rooms even have sea views! It had coffee/ tea facilities , a free bottle of water & a room safe : perfect for a 3star hotel. Breakfast was ok & the room/ bathroom quite small. Thankfully there is a balcony which overlooks the street, eventhough it is tiny too. No fridge & an airconditioner that's rather tricky to put on. Friendly service at reception & the restaurant. Alright for 1 or 2day -stay.

Cancelled our stay after one night

Unfortunately when we stayed here there was diesel Fumes coming through the air vent in our bathroom which made it extremely uncomfortable and hard to breath when in the bathroom. We stayed for one night and then had to cancel our booking as there were no other rooms available and it wasn’t safe for us to be sleeping in the room. To the hotels credit they did provide us with a full refund and an apology. Aside from this, the hotel has a wonderful view of Xlendi Bay and is in a good location.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast buffet was very well prepared, though the menu repeated daily. We didn't really use the rooftop terrace which is a common area, however it is quite beautiful and spacious. Office staff to restaurant waiters, everyone was very helpful and personable. Checkin and checkout was seamless. Checkout time was a relaxed 12pm which was welcomed.

Basic hotel but good value for money. Room was a bit small (tiny wardrobe; no shelves/drawers). Note: each room is a different size so choose carefully if you can. We booked last minute so did not find a variety. When we checked in we were offered an upgrade to a see view for a fee. If we were told that it was a bigger room I would have taken it.
Cheerful and friendly receptionist. Breakfast: very limited choice of buffet.

a nice place for out of season rest.

the room with a sea view balcony was amazing. however i would recommend to ask for a top floor room as if you are in the lower floors, it can be quite noisy because of the proximity of the adjacent bar or restauant. also nearby is quite a busy road. staff was friendly and breakfast great. parking is also available very close, just don't park under the trees as tempting as it could be. Birds sleep there overnight.

Ich habe jetzt hier schon 2 Bewertungen zu diesem Hotel geschrieben, und jedesmal werden sie abgelehnt. Dies ist der dritte Versuch. Eine genaue Erlaeuterung der Ablehnungen findet nicht statt, jedesmal muss man einen neuen Text verfassen statt dass man den alten einfach abaendern kann. Hier muss Hotel.-com mal dringend nachbessern. Das macht Booking.com viel besser. Das Hotel an sich ist nicht schlecht trotz Pilzbefall der Waende einiger Zimmer und Grossbaustellen direkt nebenan.

This hotel is in front of Xlend beach. This beach is great. Especially, you can go along the beach way and meet a great view. And breakfast, there are not many dishes but good. The staffs are kind overall. But there is no refrigerator. You have to pay if you want to borrow it.

First time staying here though we have stayed in Xlendi many times. From the welcome on arrival to leaving all the staff were wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable with a kettle for that first coffee!! Breakfast outside whilst looking at the sea couldnt be any better. We will be back soon .

Charming boutique hotel with incredible sea views

Had a wonderful but too short of a stay at San Andrea hotel from May 15-18. Had a corner Sea view room and were so happy with the view! I'd highly recommend to update to Sea views otherwise your view is of a cliff and the street. Rooms are small and not modernly designed but it's all you need for sleeping and enjoying your morning coffee on the balcony! Staircase is marble which I thought was striking and on the 5th floor it offers a nice area to meet new friends staying at the hotel and have sun bathing chairs. Staff was friendly and very helpful. So many places to eat around the bay - sadly couldn't come close to trying them all out - and a convenience store is just outside the hotel entrance to the left offering great snacks and cheap water!

We stayed only one night here. The hotel is in a very nice location, in front of the Xlendi bay. Room was very simple decorated but clean. It is very close to the 'Xlendi' bus stop. Breakfast was OK. It is a good option for a Budget trip.

Superb location

The San Andrea is superbly located just beside the sea and alongside a short strip of cafes, bars and restaurants. The hotel is either new or has been newly refurbished with beautiful wooden fittings and marble style floors. Service in the restaurant is excellent. Overall this is a lovely spot for a short peaceful seaside break. Note there is no beach so not an ideal place for young children. Only minus point is the lack of an interior sitting room for use in the winter when it can be very cold outside.

Pleasent hotel if Xlendi is where you want!

Two nights of my holiday to Malta, I spent in Hotel San Andrea in Xlendi. Went there only for relaxation, during really low-season (Feb/Mar shift).

I am very glad with everything in this hotel! It was clean, pleasant service, nice view (seaside).. The included breakfast was only ok.

However, I would not recommend Xlendi during that time, probably going on a tour to Gozo from Malta main island, is enough.

Tranquil Waterfront Stay - Fantastic Scenery

We enjoyed a very relaxing stay at this family run small hotel in Xlendi Bay between Christmas and the New Year 2011. The bedrooms with the waterfront view of the bay are well worth the extra euros. Xlendi Bay is very pretty and quite spectacular even during a thunderstorm! At this time of year the area is pretty quite but there is a frequent bus service into Victoria. There are some fantastic cliff walks in the area, just ask the locals who are really helpful. While the room was spotlessly clean it was compact and not very spacious. The real surprise was the delicious food and excellent service at Zafira restaurant which is part of the hotel. Overall we really enjoyed our short holiday season stay at Hotel San Andrea, Xlendi.

Pretty good hotel, nice location

The room looked nice, but was small....barely any space to put our suitcases. Very helpful staff. Xlendi is beautiful and close to Victoria. We got dinner included and enjoyed our meal.

Hotel San Andrea

We liked the hotel a lot. It is beautifully located directly at a small beach and a nice rugged coast line. A great location to relax. The room we had was a typical hotel room, very clean and well kept though. Our room had a little balcony facing the sea which was great for having a glass of wine and listening to the waves in the evening.

The owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant of the hotel has some good food and the prices are excellent for the quality you get.

We can definitely recommend the hotel and we'll go there again. It's worth more than three stars.

Great value!

This was our second stay at the San Andreas though having stayed in a five star in Valetta before Xlendi, we initially were disappointed in the small size of our room which was not ideal for relaxing in but the beds are comfortable and the rooms clean and bright. We spent little time in the room anyway so it didn't matter much. If you opt for a sea view the balcony is a decent size for sitting out with great views over the bay. There is also a lounge on the fifth floor with sun loungers on the terrace though we found it too hot to use as there was little shade. The buffet breakfast was the typical continental. We ate each night at the hotel's own restaurant choosing to sit outside. The service is excellent . The food is varied, very well prepared and served in generous portions. The wine list is extensive and very reasonably priced, especially the local wines which we enjoyed immensely.
The staff at this family run hotel are friendly and the proprietor or his family are always around.
The hotel is right on the bay and the water is a few yards from the front door. The small beach and bay offer safe swimming within the designated areas, cordoned off from the boats and yachts. It is used by the locals of all ages and has a great family atmosphere. A dive shop is just across the road and it is a popular place to learn to dive.

A really lovely Hotel - great location literally ten ft from the waters edge. Simple but clean room. Really nice restaurant in hotel, ate there more than once. Loads of information in reception about local buses and things to do on Gozo. Great price, great hotel!

The San Andrea Hotel in Xlendi - a great hotel

This was a great hotel to stay in we enjoyed almost everything about it. The staff was nice, friendly, and helpful. The room was comfortable and the sea-view was excellent. Xlendi Bay is a nice quiet bay with dive opportunites and swimming and many resaurant options. The only thing we didn't really like so much was the breakfast it was not nice but there was a shop near by that sold egg sandwichs for a euro so we really couldn't complian about that much. This was the best hotel experience we had on Malta or Gozo.
