We stayed in the Convict Cottage for 4 nights. It had everything we needed. It was full of character and history.

The Lodge on Elizabeth was a lovely place to stay. Full of character and personality. Close enough to walk to everything.

No laundry facilities that we know of. Code for entry was great, because you felt safe. Very close walking distance to cafes restaurants, which was a high plus. Just a bit of traffic noise, which died down during the night.

The sitting area at the back was a bit messy and not well kept.
It was great having a shared common dining room and sitting areas where we could relax, enjoy a cup of tea or a drink at the end of the day or in the mornings. Unfortunately, the dining area was not regularly stocked up with drinking water/biscuits.
The 2 mornings we were there, the dirty fushes from previous days were still on the table (this was after 7.30 am).
The Wifi was slow and kept cutting in and out.
The accommodation was advertised with avsilable free car parking.
When we arrived there was no available on the street car park pass. We were promised that a pass would be given on the night after our arrival. No pass was given.
For the 2 nights we stayed, we have to move the car regularly on the hour.
It was explained to us on Day 2 that there are only 5 available for guests, we missed out. No apologies given.
The Lodge on Elizabeth should changed on the website that car parking availability is nit guaranteed to all guests..
The room is tidy and clean. Amenities in the room is fantastic. And the spa bath was wonderful.
Although the bed and pillows are not very comfortable.
The fan provided in the room was noisy. Andvthe bar fridge, right next to the bed is old and noisy too.

The biggest selling point for choosing this hotel is getting access to free laundry machine for guests and the clothing drying line on the building balcony. Area around hotel has many reasonably good food choices and the main Catholic cathedral is within walking distance.

Complimentary port in the sitting room with books etc. and beautifully comfortable lounges and chairs is an added touch of class, the small little garden in the centre of the house is so cute.

This historic building (nearly 200 years old) is a quaint property in a vibrant part of Hobart. Rooms are in good condition, especially for such an old building that has preserved most of its historic character. The owner, Jeff, is friendly, extremely helpful, and always available. He knows the neighborhood and the city and is very willing to share dining suggestions, hints for getting around the city, and sightseeing ideas. This is a terrific place to stay.

A very welcoming reception, beautifully restored and furnished historic homestead on National Trust Register, stately reception area and well stocked lounge. What a treat. The Lodge is an iconic historical house in Hobart that has delightful rooms that are reminiscent of Victorian charm and wealth. The room we had was really charming with a 4 poster bed and a lovely couch. The proprietor was really helpful with getting us settled and had \"pre-heated\" our room which was really nice on the cold winter day we arrived. The location was fantastic for local eateries and still only a short walk/drive to get to the harbour front district. Highly enjoyable.

Jeff was a fantastic host; he put on a varied continental breakfast and was very helpful with local restaurant suggestions within walking distance. Owner Jeff's personal touch is heart-warming. Attentive and caring, he sought a doctor when my throat felt sore, he read out a breakfast menu every morning and looked after our overall wellbeing. The furnishings, a few weeks short of Christmas, had an old-world charm and homey feeling, particularly in its lovely breakfast lounge. The quaint lodge exterior, stemming from the mid-19th century, was a major draw for us, well worth the uphill walk every evening as we came back from day-tripping. This is a beautiful heritage house run as a B and B by a warm and hospitable couple. Our room was well equipped, parking was easy and convenient and lots of local information was available. Walking to the centre and to many restaurants in North Hobart was easy. The continental breakfast was excellent. We chose a “petite”double room which, with hindsight, was a mistake as it really was “tres petite” indeed!

Outstanding value. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Hotel is a wonderful old mansion built 198 years ago with a great history. My room was a little on the small side but very comfortable and very clean. Ample delicious breakfast and the proprietor went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
