Room is dated and repairs are minimal. No Blockout curtains available no curtain at all in the bathroom although the glass is frosted . Difficult to block out light. Room had a basic clean and that’s about it. Facilities were functioning. Bathroom was a good size noise does travel from room to room.

The room was very ordinary, unclean and the bathroom smelled of sewerage. The guests in neighbouring rooms were very noisy, rooms are definitely not soundproof.
I found it very overpriced for what it was.

Booked for 2 nights and just managed to stay for 1! No sleep. Felt like plastic sheets. No room to move in the room. Small, dirty, neglected, no lift and the stairs were blocked with laundry bags (at 5pm). Photos are misleading and out of date. Type of place that you would rent by the hour! For $20 more got an excellent room 20 paces up the road at Best Western.

I didn’t stay in this hotel.
No one was there when I arrived.
The manager come half and hour late ,because he went to Bunnings ( this is what he told me )
I didn’t see the room ,the hotel wasn’t open.O come after 2 pm
first call on the nr ,what was on the glass door) when I call , he gives me the cod .
When I goes inside I sawed dirty reception ,and also dirty room where people should eat .I told the manager ( or owner ?) I don’t want to stay in his hotel and then Go went to have a look for new hotel .
Took me houers ,because everything was booked.

I appreciate it is at a cheaper price point and I acknowledge the linena nd towels were clean, but the surfaces of the room and bathroom were marked and a little grubby. Older people and people with mobility issues should be aware that there is no lift to access the floors with accommodation.

My room had obviously not been cleaned - hair in drain, fake fingernail on floor. Couldn’t think too much about the not so clean that I couldn’t see. I didn’t expect 5 star, but basic cleanliness is vital.

The smell of the attached Chinese permeated the stair well.
No maintenance done in the rooms. My door lock was broken but still worked. Bed lights didn’t work

The reception wasn't manned I asked to leave my bag because I was early. The option was to leave it in an open area where anyone could have access to it. The area wasn't clean so I shudder to think what the rooms are like. I decided not to stay. The photo of the building doesn’t show the ground floor is an Asian Restaurant but my understanding was the hotel is only staffed when the restaurant is staffed

I already sent a complaint last Wednesday. We left after checking in. It was noisy and there was couple fighting outside our room and they were knockingoudly at our door too. We have to stay locked inside our room as we felt unsafe. Vent in the bathroom full of dust, shower door broken.

This is what you would expect for a less expensive hotel. It's conveniently placed, however, and clean. Ear plugs and eye mask are a good idea.

My family and I waited over an Hour or more just to check in even though check in time was at 2 o'clock we weren't seen until 3 there was NO ONE at the reception expect a number to call on door. My partner had to call and contacted the owner/reception multiple times and we were not the only people waiting to be checked in.
The hotel is adjoin with a restaurant and we had to check in at the restaurant desk not reception and then had to change rooms as out tv screen did not work.
The rooms were pleasant enough and no real issue or complaints there but overall just a bit of a headache to stay as it felt unprofessional.

This accommodation was nothing like website, foyer was replaced with Chinese restaurant, room was ridiculously small, bed quilt had food stain on it, no spoons ,no towels, doors in foyer gruby, no off street parking, no one at reception, phone number on website not responding, on arrival mob contact only, not given front door code.

Serves its basic function as a place to sleep and wash. Not the nicest area but walkable to most places which was great. But that’s pretty much it.

On arrival there was no one at the tiny and very messy reception desk so I called the mobile number left there - had to wait 15mins for someone to arrive to help us. In the meantime I could easily see other people’s booking information open on the desk. When a staff member finally came she unfortunately didn’t speak any English so couldn’t answer the two basic questions that I had. I never saw anyone at the reception desk the entire three night stay.

The room itself had clean sheets and bathroom. However the walls were all dirty including the vents etc. The TV remote didn’t work. The curtain over the window above the bed didn’t block hardly any light, as was the same issue with light coming in under the door from the hallway, enough to wake me up. I’m not usually fussy with that sort of stuff but given the start of the stay was so poor it left me far more on edge about all of it.

I do not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again.

i booked in late and the couple were very courtious, friendly ,i ordered a meal from them as at that time of night not much was open, even though meal was bit expensive it was great, the rooms even though small were good for what i wanted, only needed a bed as was gone for most of day, only downside is fact there is no lift so if you have luggage you have to carry up stairs,there is good pub 20 m away and woolies is only 3 blocks walk ,and 10 minute walk to waterfront

As an older person I had to climb two sets of slippery marble stairs - no lift. The Chinese owner did not seem to understand us. It was up a hill so difficult to reach. Very basic. The bar fridge froze everything. Thankfully we only slept there. Old & shabby although clean.

The room we were put in was disgusting, it was dirty the power cords were hanging from the wall with an extension cord very dangerous, the bathroom facility was disgraceful, you could hardly fit thru the door of the shower, if a larger person had that room they would not have been able to shower. Wasn't told that we had to walk up two flights of stairs, no wonder they don't show the rooms when they advertise. Had to beg for a third cup as there was three of us in the room. Couldn't fill the kettle had to use a cup as the sink was too small, hardly any tea and coffee, they say you get what you pay for. but this didn't fit the bill was the most expensive stay we had all thru Tasmania. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

On a number of occasions bad sewerage smell was circulating through the air conditioning. This was made much more unbearable by the fact that the room had no openable windows.
The second night there was a boozy party in one or 2 of the front rooms. It seemed Management made no attempt to stop this.

I liked the ease of access to the city, the staff were all very polite and I appreciated the fact that I was left mostly alone (I’m an introvert) when I asked questions they were answered and for the most part other than a polite greeting every time I came back and greetings from the cleaning staff unless I instigated the interaction I was left alone. I was well relaxed by the end of my trip. The only issue I had was people talking in the stairwell at night but you can’t control the behaviour of other. I would also have appreciated a microwave in the room along with the fridge and kettle but really it more than met my needs. I enjoyed me stay.

The lady at reception was very lovely and friendly. That was the best thing about the place. However the room was NOT friendly at all. There was a terrible smell in the bathroom like sewerage coming up through the overflow hole and shower and sink drainage. There was absolutely NO fresh air available at all. The floors are ALL marble tiles and all dirty and sticky and the room was generally just dusty and dirty. At current condition I could not recommend it to anyone and we won't stay there again.

Would NOT recommend this place.Dangerous electricals-power point literally hanging out of the wall! Exposed wires also on bed lamp plug.Bed lamps didn't work.Tiny bathroom dirty and not even swept-stuff on floor .Shower door only opens about 30cm, as it bangs onto the small handbasin.No soap or hand towels provided.Toilet lid didn't shut properly. D=Ingrained dirty marks all around door jambs,handles and light swithches. Noisy nightclub thupming 'music' till at least 5am! Three days of this! And car alarms at all hours day and night from the car rental place next door. Never again.!

not very romantic, but great location

The space was not clean to my personal standard: the hallways were filthy, the room was standard clean (Air filters were fuzzy, toilet base & surrounding areas gross) and was not a maintained by the chambermaid (e.g. not swept, or mopped the entire stay, bed not fixed, had to ask for towels) and she even left our door opened one day. The linens had old stains on them... we didn't even sleep on the bedsheets, or in the blankets because there were so many stains.

The location is awesome!
The front desk staff was friendly.

Don't expect privacy, the walls are thin and the hallways riddled with local people living there.

Beyond expectation, small but comfortable

We stayed for 3 nights (peak seasons for Wood boat festival, many hotel is full and expensive) and found it was comfortable, clean and tidy. The Asian staff is nice and friendly. Close to all the town area within walking distance to dock and Salamanca area. Best Western hotel and Europcar is just behind. Although it is small and everything is fine, made you feel comfortable. Free wifi (stable and fast). There is no lift, but it seems many (small) hotel in Hobart like that. Walking distance 15 minutes walk to Woolworth supermarket (44 Argyle St). Provide airport transfer from hotel, 2 person for AUD35, cheaper than Skybus, before 7am (AUD40 for 2 person), please check with hotel. You can have dinner at Shamrock bar (western food) and Tandoor Curry House (Indian Restaurant) nearby hotel. Value for money.

I think that the rooms - at least the one I was in - are in need of maintenance. The shower door did not open and close properly, the window sills were rusty. The room was very very small. Have to climb 2 flights of stairs carrying your bags. Definitely a 2 star cheaper accommodation option. Was clean though and staff were friendly.

We stayed 2 nights in this apartment type hotel. The hotel is very close to the city centre. The room is very small but still has a private toilet/bathroom and a fridge. There is a small restaurant on the G/F. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no car space and has no lift. .
