We only booked in late in evening and left early morning. The room was spotless and the aircon was on when we arrived. We were exhausted from travel and it was a pleasure to come to a room fully prepared. We were on the ground floor which was great and it was very quiet. The shuttle bus took us straight to airport next morning, no problems was very thankful for it, the whole resort looks amazing although we only saw it at night

My room was clean and fresh, every day house keeping came and remade my bed and changed my towels and restocked everything I used. Breakfast cantered for all tastes, it was very nice. All the meals I ate at hotel was very nice.

I anticipate a higher level of cleanliness for the hotel, including fewer stains on all the pillows, especially the decorative ones on the chairs. The swimming pool area needs better maintenance; we booked the villa with the pool, but there were many insects around, as well as in the pool itself. The staff should thoroughly inspect the room before it’s assigned to guests. The breakfast selection requires more variety and improved flavors, as it is quite bland.

We stayed in one of the new River Creek Villas and they were beautiful. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Lots of little well thought out touches. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The night supervisor when we arrived was so friendly and lovely.

We had no other option but to stay one night at the Mecure as our original flight was cancelled. The complex is in great need of renovation. Beds had threads hanging off - linen was nice. Expect peeling paint, chipped tiles, horrible pork belly salad (just don't do it!) and no where to plug in your kettle. On the other hand, and the reason I didnt give one star, the staff were lovely and very helpful and the pools are too. But at $400 a night, I want and expect more.

The Hotel is very close to the Darwin Airport, you can easily walk to the Departure Terminal.
I stayed in BLOCK 3 both visits and although the surrounding area was neatly kept with gardens and lawns, the accommodation itself was not up to the standard of a Mercure Hotel. The walls were painted in a depressing yellow which appeared to be either dirty or stained. The passageway between the rooms was concrete and so were the steps to the top floor. This lack of floor covering was like being back in the Army Barracks of my youth. It made the accommodation very noisy. The bathroom floor had a sticky feeling about it from the cleaning product used on it. If I had to stay again, I would be more careful with the selection of accommodation, not Barrack Block No.3

It was a good place to stay and very close to the airport for a 1.30am flight. They are currently undergoing renovations so it was a bit tricky to get around and work out parking, however our overall experience was very good. I would stay there again.

Pricey for what you get

Room was ok but a bit tired. Requested a room with a sofa bed, which it didn’t come with and the air conditioner didn’t work in the lounge area. We didn’t complain as we checked in at 2:00am and just wanted to sleep

Understaffed and overpriced

The site us having renovations done, but that was not an issue. The service from the shuttle bus which is dirty, to check in which is tardy, to the standard of the room booked, the place is a mess. The walkway to my original room had overflowing rubbish bin and laundry bins on the walkway, the room was truly awful; door with chipped paint and dirty, carpet dirty, walls with marks on them. I complained and was given an upgrade, but from arrival to the other room took 1.5 hours. Next morning, couldn't even get a coffee as there are not enough staff; I was the only person who had to leave without breakfast.- Mercure - never again.

Worst arrival experience of my life

Check in was absolutely appalling. Starting with arrival - hotel co-located with the Novotel but there is nothing in prearrival information to explain that. This is an airport hotel so I had to walk (with all my bags). There’s no arrival shuttle - & too close (700m) for a taxi. All signage states Novotel, and google maps not aware - I walked a mile past the hotel until I finally walked back to ask at the Novotel.

On returning to the Novotel, the desk was completely overwhelmed; with around 40 people ahead of me. At this point I still thought I was just there to ask directions - and had to wait in line over 30 mins. Only two other hotel guests were ahead of me. The rest were clearly there to use the pool, something that they must rent out to locals for extra money. These people took a long time to “check in” though. They need a separate line for guests - exhausted people WITH BAGGAGE - and a streamlined process for pool users.

When I finally got my turn the check in man explained that this was (despite all signage) also the check-in for Marriott. A small mercy I suppose - although I still had to walk a way through the Novotel complex to get there. This staff member was worse than indifferent to my concern about the misleading signage and my long detour. He rolled his eyes and said “I get complaints about that every day, and nothing changes. No apology or commiserations.

Good hotel for those needing an airport hotel.

The hotel is in a complex of various brands - Ibis, Mercure and another. The pools are beautiful. I liked the adults only pool as well.
The rooms were clean - but I couldn’t turn off the overhead fan - which wasn’t too bad as it was hot. But the room door was full of mould. I appreciate with the weather up there it’s very hard to stop this.
It reminds me of a Fijian Resort.
Right beside the airport - easy to walk - literally on the other side of the car park. But there is a shuttle service also.

I was put into a disabled person room where the aircon wasn't working properly, so we were hot all night and the bathroom vanity light wasn't working either.
The room was so bright from the breezeway light being on that I couldn't sleep properly, kept waking up thinking I had slept in.
The Mecure pool is in need of some major maintenance,
and the new big pool had lots of bugs floating in it, and closed at 7pm. I have stayed at the Mecure many times and generally always been happy with the service

We chose the mecure on the basis of the pool, as it looked the nicest. Very pleased with our stay, rang for the shuttle and it arrived within 5-10 minutes. Quick check in, pleasant enough room, functional with comfortable beds and a good shower. Make time for the pool as it’s really good, a great start to our holiday. All staff friendly and helpful.

The check in process took over an hour due to insufficient staff and resources to deal with the volume of people. At best the room is equivalent to a three star motel, with two flat pillows on the bed and no amenities such as bottled water, tea/coffee etc. The shower was adequate but not great. Staff seemed inclined to give you any plausible answer rather than say they don’t know. Not particularly helpful. Swimming pool looks awesome though.

Dont stay if you need to sleep

Arrived 12.30am and asked for a room with minimal disturbance. I had also requested this at time of booking. I think even if they tried they could not have put me in a room that had more people checking in at all hours of the morning in every room around me. Drunk people outside near the pool at 1.30am screaming kids checking into their room next door at 3am. More drunk people checking in to their room at 4am and thought my room was theirs, trying to get in the door. Never again, ill pay the $50 taxi both ways and stay in the city.

Appalling hotel

The hotel chain spent a fortune on a very glamorous swimming pool next door which we could use but there was not one umbrella (the marketing image shows many umbrellas) and only 3 or 4 covered private areas which had to be prebooked. The rooms are in urgent need of an upgrade. The rooms were atrocious and priority should’ve been made on improving the rooms.
I was also told to contact the hotel once we had arrived & standing outside the hotel sign at Darwin airport so that the hotel could send the shuttle to pick us up. We did this but the person from the hotel kept telling us to move away from there and go stand elsewhere. It was so hot at after midnight and this person had no idea. It was extremely upsetting and very frustrating. We will never stay here again and will avoid staying at the airport hotel at any cost

The property was fairly good - the problem was lack of information regarding the renovation work. I found out renovations were in progress AFTER I had booked! I arrived at midnight from Melbourne. I walked over to the resort and couldn't get in. I eventually went to the Airport Inn to ask for assistance and was told they were now doing the check-ins! A heads up on arrangement would have been handy!

Airconditioner not working probably .There was no hot water in the bathroom .We did report this and they were to send maintenance man to fix but still a cold shower in the morning.The room was $230 for the night and would not recommend it to anyone.The room was very old and dated and a 1 star rating .Was not a great experience.

We've stayed there a few times and the pool is the highlight. The only issue we had this time was the gentleman that checked us in did not think we'd booked breakfast when our email stated that we did. The lady on the desk the following day could immediately see that we had in fact paid for the breakfast. Aside from that, another good stay.

We frequently stay at this hotel but were disappointed this time when our $399 room (for one night) had a broken shower. We found this out in the morning when we went to use it! Very disappointing that this had not been picked up by the cleaner or reported by the previous guest. Waste of money!

Stayed at a FIFO camp

The compact room was nice enough but reminded me of a worker camp. Shuttle to the airport was prompt as I got it just as some FIFO workers were heading over for a early morning flight. The restaurant was busy and had table service but the staff didn't seem to have sections as I had different servers asking if I needed to order.
